In this world, Magic is Everything. All people, all races, are granted with the power to perform mystical and magical feats via grimories, mystical tomes granted to each and every child on their 15th birthday. Those blessed by the mana can have their names written down in legend.

Another visit to Aristaeus' Basin. This time with her grimoire properly filled since she had managed to get a grasp on her magic properly beyond simple golems and healing light. Now the fallen angel was able to call upon swathes of angels or at least angelic golems. But to her, they were the god-sent heralds of darkened light she needed when the push came to shove as hard as it could.
This was a good a place as any to test things out, she had been here before and saved by people while she was being chased by her previous employers. But now, here she was again, ready to fend for herself, though no one was around. No one was hunting her, no mana beasts around. It was rather peaceful despite being a chaos ridden region of the Forsaken portion of Clover Kingdom.
"Ha! For once fortune smiles upon the bold and powerful herald of heroism! The dark avenger for the downtrodden! For nary a soul shall face mine presence without quaking in fear of my power! The power to heal and call forth belongs to me. And the power of heaven grants me strength upon strength!" She declared boisterously, before chortling aloud, hands on her hips.
The red haired lass with a scruffy head of hair was cheerfully patting herself on the back before she sighed and lowered her arms. "Seriously though? No one around? I never really... This is weird. Normally something happens when I open my mouth. Maybe Artemis is right...Maybe I do ask for it?" She rubbed the back of her head.
Unbeknownst to her however there was nothing out of the ordinary about today as any other. There was the looming presence of something in the distance that had caused every creature to scatter, whether they be fearsome or not, they were all terrified of the same thing. Something much bigger, and slowly waking up from its slumber. It must have been the size of a small island, but judging by its four arms and single sunken pit of glowing orange light, it was a mana beast with a hunchback made up of earth magic.

Kioshi did not often travel to Aristaeus basin, gaining access to the heart kingdom held no interest to her, neither then did the strange magics of the zone and she had no real desire to fight against mana beasts. What she did like doing is practicing her running in an environment where people wouldn't stop her or more accurately, so that she didn't need to practice the real thing and have people get used to looking out for her. She gripped a branch and swung herself up onto the next one when she heard someone shouting somewhere nearby. She tilted her head questioningly, there weren't many that just randomly showed up in the Basin and fewer still that would be so bold as to attract attention to themselves by shouting at the top of their lungs.
Her curiosity bubbled to the top of her thoughts, she needed to know who it was, why they had come… and more importantly now that she noticed it, if they would be okay after waking up a manabeast. She knew she would make it there first, the creature moved far too slow and she was taking a more direct route across tree top branches. She of course saw the redhead first, people tended not to look up unless they were used to being observed secretly or getting sneak attacked. She was, odd if Kioshi were to put a word to it a strange air about her, perhaps something about her mana seemed different. The small elf replayed the words from earlier in her head again, she hadn’t taken them into account before but perhaps, now that she was recalling them, they attributed to the feeling she got. She spoke to herself, barely whispering the sound of it only just reaching her own ears to reassure herself. ”How fascinating, she was basically inviting something to happen and yet she seems put off by it. Perhaps she was simply not considering what would happen.”
She didn’t leave the tree, for now she wanted to see what would happen next with the self proclaimed dark avenger, although calling her that seemed silly. She imagined for herself being able to rescue the strange girl on her own, but the fantasy was only half formed and she was paying too much attention to actually think what she would do.

So much for the peace and quiet, as she had called upon the deus ex machina, the deus ex machina responded, a surge of mana came forth and from the brush and burrow came a beast of plant life! it stood ten feet tall and twice as large, its fronds ending in many spined leaves that sought to grab and pile things into its caustic gullet of acid! It was like a bubbling cauldron of a plant that sought to shovel as much material into its gob as possible!
Cecile of course covered her nose and mouth, if only to protect herself from the pungent scent of decaying compost that was piled up in the center of the beast! As it roared and tore through into the clearing, her grimoire flew out and out came a special golem.
It was wrapped together in black feathers like a three pronged body, two elongated limbs and its central body hovering off of the ground. A black halo over its head while it swung those arms and out came pale grey light-like blades, slicing through the leaf of the beast and giving Cecile a moment's respite to roll away from the danger.
As she made her egress away from the monstrosity, Cecile ran right by Kioshi! "Y-you! Don't just stand there! Get a move on! That thing is going to eat you too!" She cried while leaping over an upturned root! Vaulting over and tumbling across the ground, the red-head readied her grimoire again as her first golem was dispersed in a batch of black light outlined with a white aura.
"I uh, don't suppose you know how to fight? I'm Cecile, Cecile Iris du Ange, sorry about this! This kind of luck follows me around all the damn time!"

Kioshi tilted her head slightly at the strange golem, it wasn’t an element she imagined, not any that she had seen before, it looked rather sinister indeed, though not particularly devastating as it’s creator was leaving it to fight while she ran. More amazing she even noticed the elf in the tree showing some concern and asking for help. Kioshi could never refuse a request from one of her friends, especially not a new friend. ”of course I’ll help you, what kind of friend would I be if I let mine get eaten by monsters, no friend at all I suppose. Even though she said it out loud she doubted that the noise could have reached the other girl. She had clasped her hands together and smiled when she said it though hopefully reassuring the strange mage with terrible luck.
She waved her hand out from the clapping motion and her grimoire followed it flipping open to the correct page letting the partial elf hear the faint buzzing of her physical magic. The creature it seemed, did actually notice her, but it was oh so very slow at least for her it was. She jumped from the tree as it smacked the branches away, it seemed quite strong. It would be best to communicate but for now at least she could simply distract it. It was nowhere near her in terms of physical speed although it’s large body made up for that somewhat, she wondered what she should do about it. She put her hand under her chin and gave a ponderous look, backpedaling when it lifted it’s hand to try and smash her into the ground, she gave it a kick to test. It was squishy, and it didn’t appear her kick had done anything so she backed up a bit more and waved to the redhead to follow her. Perhaps they could get far enough away to form a plan? The girl might be rather slow as well though. Maybe she should come up with something faster then. Was there a cliff near by, they could drop it off a cliff but the Basin wasn't known for high cliffs. Using another mana beast to distract it would be the ideal situation if they couldn't win or outrun it.

Why did fate choose to plague her so? Why was it that chance favored the bold, and frowned upon the meek? She was both, yet, more often than not, was the butt of the joke for many encounters similar to this. Was it her power? The fact that she could heal wounds beyond the scope of normalcy? Was it that her angelic magic was tainted with darkness because of her ancestry as a witch? She didn't have the luxury to pontificate upon all of this possibilities or their potential downfall to her life. She had to focus on the here and now!
Cecile used her first golem as a bit of bait, a meat shield, a sacrificial pawn. Giving a proud salute to the angelic lad that laid himself down before the monster to give Cecile and Kioshi a moment's respite! Turning toward the muted whispering girl, she made a b-line for her!
"Come on cutie! We're making a break for it!" She'd reach for Kioshi's wrist and look to tug the girl close, even going as far as to Princess Carry, "And, scoop! Away!" She'd run, showing just how athletic she had become from running from those ruffians all the time and trying to keep on her toes almost all the time.
In the background, they would hear the monster hunting them, pushing foliage out of the way while it hissed and snarled in an inhumane fashion.
Whether she was carrying Kioshi or not, Cecile had to talk to the girl she could barely hear, "Name's Cecile, this is pretty common for me actually! Sorry to drag you along for the ride, literally. Uh, what's the plan? What's the plan? Throw golems at it? No. Find a town? Nah, that'd be too attention grabbing. Hey, you saying something? What kind of ideas do you have?"
It seemed that Cecile felt like she was doing all the talking, when in fact, Kioshi might be responding, that girl was a pretty quiet one!
