A large brown bear has settled in a cave too close for comfort in the forests surrounding Hapshass. The residing apothecaries have grown wary of it and need you to either scare it away or kill it.

[break]Combat Style: He uses his restraining magic to take control of those he wants to show fear to. Also, his physical reinforcement is where he mainly uses for strength and speed buffs. This is for when he needs to handle business himself.
Chishio was sent on a mission to locate a bear that had been terrorizing the people of Hapshass by finding a habitat nearby. It wasn't uncommon for a wild animal to show up near a village and do what wild animals do: act up. And thus, every now and then it was up to others, in this case, those hired on the mission, to complete the task of getting rid of the nuisance. [break][break]
The bear really hadn't acted and attempted to assault anyone quite just yet, but the village wanted to avoid any chances. After all, this bear was magical and it apparently had the capability to use restraining magic. It getting near someone such as a small child could be dangerous and lethal. [break][break]
The girl found herself as per usual, waiting for her partner outside the home of a mission giver. To be fair, Chishio was slightly offended they felt the need to send someone else to 'assist' her for killing a bear. Yes, she had decided she'd kill the bear. She felt like she was highly capable, especially as a Golden Dawn member, to take care of such a thing herself. [break][break]
It was just a wild animal after all. They just needed to locate it and slaughter it. Chishio had her sword and would wave it with finesse, almost as if it were a typical baton of some sort, waiting for the minion to arrive. Deep her thoughts, she was curious if the person was stronger or weaker than her. Chishio was comparing herself to the anonymous individual already out of insecurity. [break][break]
As she waited, she looked at the passing by people, some looked at her with a smile in acknowledgment while others would pass by in a hurry. It was a bright day and the weekend so the villagers were out gathering their food and items for the upcoming days. Naturally, this could be an easy place for the bear to pop out and begin to attack others. [break][break]
With her golden dawn cape, she'd look at the girl who was approaching her. She'd walk right up towards her with confidence. She had been described to her ahead of time by the mission giver, "Look. Hello. I'm Chishio, a Magic Knight and I suppose you are....?" she'd let the girl introduce herself or just respond if she wished, "I'm not sure why you needed to accompany, to be honest. If you don't know we are killing a magical bear. If anything I could do this myself," the Golden Dawn mage said tartly and her eyes narrowed, "But we are going to get this done, together. Just don't get in the way of my attacks and we'll be fine. Ok?" [break][break]

❝We are all broken.❞
[attr="class","verenascroll"] Of all the towns in Clover, Hapshass was perhaps her favorite. It was the perfect place for a book worm such as herself. And that was precisely why she felt the need to at least try to do something about the bear. Still, she wasn't particularly excited about the prospect. No doubt, they wanted the bear dead. It wasn't as if it had done anything yet, but she understood the reason for concern. She was grateful to these people. They simply let her be, never bothering her as she'd come in. They may wave or say hello, but never more than that.[break][break]
She was grateful for those simple interactions. An acknowledgment of her existence, without bothering to get to know her. That was much more preferable.[break][break]
So she had put in a request for aid on the matter. But apparently, the message had gotten mixed up, as Chishio seemed to be under the impression that she was having to work alongside someone else. If anything, it was closer to babysitting, though Verena wouldn't want to admit to that. Still...[break][break]
Verena was visibly uncomfortable. She didn't know she'd be working with a Magic Knight. But, she was from the same squad as Cyrus, wasn't she? The Golden Dawn mantle. Cyrus was someone who at least could pretend to be a good person. She wasn't sure if he actually was or not, however, but as wary of people as she was, she wasn't so disheartened to the point that she'd just completely believe every single person was rotten to their core. Even Magic Knights deserved a chance.[break][break]
...Still, it bothered her. Was she excessive? Brutish? Was she someone who cared for all people? Or was she just in it for the paycheck, glory, or both? Verena wasn't sure what to think of her companion as introduced herself to her at the appointed meeting area.[break][break]
"...Verena," she said, similarly omitting her last name. "I-I'm not very um... suited for combat. I don't live here, but I come here a lot. I w-was hoping to um... take care of the bear, so I put in a request for help with the bear... um... yes, I'll be sure to stay out of the way though. I tend not to involve myself in the front lines."[break][break]
"When we get near the bear, I'll create a diversion, then you can um... do the fighting part. By the way, would you..."[break][break]
Verena internally sighed. She couldn't stop herself from trembling. "...would you happen to know Cyrus Elwood?" she inquired. If she was friends with him, it'd put her mind at ease.
"Why are you stuttering so much?" she'd ask honestly, "You have no need to be shy. You are dealing with someone who just happens to be a Magic Knight. If you aren't for combat then it's fine, I'll take over the situation. You can watch and learn!" the elf would put bluntly. [break][break] "Have you ever gone hunting before? Bears are atypical for my family to hunt but we've hunted for other animals. It's really, not that hard....." she'd respond to her comment on needing help. [break][break] If this girl needed help so badly why not just let her handle the mission herself? She could've easily completed this mission on her own. She saw no need for assistance but apparently this girl. Chishio was really judging now. [break][break] "Do I know a boy by Cyrus?" she'd ask and arch her brow, "Yes, I do. He introduced himself to me when I joined Golden Dawn. He came to me first. Very nice gentleman. Well mannered," she'd answer, "Now how do you know him? And why are you asking me if I know him? Trying to become a Knight in Golden Dawn? Yet, you are shy? And not really good with combat? Or are you asking?" [break][break] Being sure to get an answer out of her before stating this, "Ok, enough being nosy about MY personal relationships let's get to going," she'd declare with a bit of tartness in her voice. Chishio would turn on her heels and make sure that Verena was following her, "Ok Verena. Come on now. It'll take a moment to leave the village but we are looking for a cave." Chishio had a brisk walk to her. She looked behind to see Verena was following or if she led, would step in front of her. [break][break] "So, what type of magic do you use? How do you plan to divert the bear's attention? Are we going to slaughter it or scare it off? I was thinking of dicing it but whichever method you think is more effective is fine with me!" [break][break]

❝We are all broken.❞
[attr="class","verenascroll"]Erk. Right away, Chishio got to the point. Verena shouldn't have expected less, but that didn't mean she wanted to have to deal with that. She couldn't just outright say she was terrified of Magic Knights. Still, as she spoke, Verena grew more and more aware of the type of person she was dealing with. She was very proud of her abilities. Must be nice.[break][break]
"I um... I apologize for my stuttering..." Verena sheepishly said. "...I hunt deer, rabbits, and other wild animals often. I'm erm... I suppose it's accurate to call me nomadic..."[break][break]
Chishio bombarded her with question after question as a result of her own inquiry. The color drained from the former Reinsberg's face at a rate that made it seem like she had just become a living corpse. So many questions, all at once. It looked to overwhelm the poor girl. To make matters worse for Verena, it seemed like she had annoyed her. "...I apologize. It wasn't my intent to pry..."[break][break]
Despite her nomadic lifestyle, Verena still spoke like she was a noble, something that she simply couldn't hide, no matter how much she tried. "I... um... met him here a few months ago, in a book store. We talked about golems and books... I come here often enough."[break][break]
"...I don't think I'd cut it as a Magic Knight, no. I was just curious..." she said, her voice trailing off. At this point, Verena had begun moving forward, following after the dark-skinned elf.[break][break]
Verena pondered why Chishio was explaining to Verena where the cave was at, as well as how long it took to get out of the town premises to find the cave. Did she think it was Verena's first time here? She'd known about the cave for a while now. She just couldn't do anything about it, and it didn't seem like anyone was doing anything about it, either. So she had called for some help.[break][break]
...A real shame that the Magic Knight present didn't seem to have been given that message. This was going to be awkward.[break][break]
Verena was following her, but Chishio would realize that the girl was much slower than she was. However, she was still trying her best to keep up. Once they got far enough out of the town, Verena glanced over to Chishio, panting a bit from just walking. "E-Excuse me..." she said through her collapsing breath as she removed her grimoire from the holster.[break][break]
Though she didn't draw attention to it, her grimoire seemed to be in reverse. Instead of the cover opening up from the left, it would do so from the right, reversed. In addition, the four-leaf clover on it was not connected; rather, all four leaves were spread apart. "...I use Summoner and Carbon magic," Verena answered, before falling silent for a moment.[break][break]
"...I don't think it'll be necessary to kill it. Our goal should be to scare it and cause it to flee. ...As of now, it's a concern, but it's done nothing to the townspeople, right? If we can chase it out from the cave, and drive it further into the woods, it shouldn't be an issue."[break][break]
Opening up her grimoire, she arrived at the page containing Gaia's Blessing, raising a hand outward, palm outstretched. "...Currently, I can um... make earth, wood, and sound golems. The latter we could use to draw the bears attention to me," she said as the earth in front of her began to rise up. Various stones and rocks were born, stacking up on top of each other from the nothingness that it was previously consisting of. [break][break]
A large, bipedal creature stood proud, kneeling with its hand displayed on the ground as Verena approached the large hand, before taking a seat "Raise. Rise," she commanded, the golem raising the hand up to roughly be level with it's chest as Verena rested comfortably within the hand of her creation.[break][break]
Another page was flipped, and a new Spell was made. This time, a large quadrupedal was born from her magic. The body itself seemed to be constantly phasing in and out of reality. It had three heads, reminiscent of a statue of someone's bust, yet the details were too vague to actually ascertain if they were based on someone, or if they were just randomly placed. A bizarre creature.[break][break]
"We... could use this as our true bait," Verena said in regards to Song of the Muses. "...however. If the bear doesn't take the bait and instead goes after me regardless... then the townspeople's fear is not misplaced, and it might be best to actually... slay it, as much as I'd prefer to avoid that..."[break][break]
Verena waited to wait on a response from the Magic Knight, to see if the plan was something she'd be willing to commit to. However, once she got going, then the brunette followed.
Spell Element: Earth[break] Spell Rank: Junior[break] Mana Cost: 10 | 5[break] Type of Golem: Guardian[break] Applicable Perks: Puppet Master, Reinforced Golem[break] Description: Utilizing earthern mana, Verena constructs a bipedal golem made up of various types of rocks and stone. Various rocks protrude from it's forearms, knees, and from the back of it's head down it's back, akin to spikes... but if spikes were blunt, like incredibly small hills, no larger than a full grown man's leg, though each of these tend to differ in size. These rocks are placed over thicker and more durable rocks that function akin to an armor plating, but don't offer any defense beyond the normal body itself.[break][break]
A golem created via Gaia's Blessing's head is stretched out just a bit, giving it's forehead the impression of a hammer due to the bluntness in which it appears. Though it possess' decent strength as a result of it's size and build, the more devastating thing it can do is headbutts. Of course, it is still a Junior ranked golem, so it is incapable of dealing any truly devastating damage. These golems will usually stay near Verena, and rarely leave her side. She often uses them to ride upon.
Spell Element: Sound[break] Spell Rank: Junior[break] Mana Cost: 10 | 5[break] Type of Golem: Balanced[break] Applicable Perks: Puppet Master, Reinforced Golem[break] Description: Unlike Verena's previous golems, Song of the Muses is not quite humanoid in appearance. It possesses three heads on a body that is on all fours, akin to a dog in that sense. The body seems to be constantly in a state of flux, a result of a seemingly unstable summon. In truth, this is just because Verena does not quite yet have a true mastery of the element, making it ill-suited for combat at this point in time. Each head resembles the bust of a human statue superimposed on a four-legged animal. The body itself lacks a tail, and if it was to stand on its rear legs, it would reach the maximum height for a balanced golem at this current level.[break][break]
Because this golem is still in a state of 'instability', it is ill-suited for combat, something Verena is already aware of. To counter this flaw, each head of Song of the Muses is capable of producing a single pitch, unique to each head. The head on the left can emit a sound that is solely capable of being measured at 493.88 hz, the one in the middle is capable of emitting a sound solely measured at 698.46 hz, and the head on the right is capable of emitting a sound that measures at 830.61 hz. These sounds effectively do nothing but are rather obnoxious if you happen to hear them. They're loud enough to be heard equal to the maximum range at this rank (twenty meters), however.[break][break]
Song of the Muses is ill suited for combat, but if absolutely necessary, it can use the three heads to headbutt. However, that's the only real offensive aspect it has. Verena is capable of spawning more of them for every ten control she has, maxing out at five total. The true utility of this golem lies in coordination with others, diversionary tactics, and alerting others. It's closer to a Scout golem in that sense, but without any of the benefits that come with such.
Chishio would slow down slightly upon seeing her minion of the day struggling to catch up.
"That's good. Hunting is nice I guess. I haven't done it in a while."
"Oh you use golem magic then? Interesting. It makes things easier to play within your hands I suppose....." Chishio would chime as they exited the village and reached the outer forest of the vicinity.
Then the girl would take out her grimoire. it was a platinum one- rare, but possible. Chishio didn't comment on it but she was already a noble and Magic knight, and this girl was rather weak. She hadn't done much with it yet. So, no respect to her in that regard. Her arms folded, she'd state, "Ok, you can create cute golems. So you want to use them as a distraction and guide it out the cave? I guess. I'd think killing them would be best. I'm going to think on it. But keep the golems around, I might change my mind."
Chishio would go up to a golem and poke it to see how sturdy and consistent it was. It was weak, not combative. Not to par for Chishio's tastes. But whatever, it'll do for her objective if that's what she wished for.
"You can do anything if you put your mind to it. Cliche but it's true in most circumstances. Stop blubbering like that and you'll never make a decent life for yourself. What do you do anyway for a living? Work like this? Practice doing a few tasks on your own sometimes, it's not that bad....." Chishio would respond to her not once looking at her. She felt no need to. She knew what she was saying was 'true'.
This was a late response to the girl's possibility of being a Magic Knight. it was a late comment but touching the fragile golems her thoughts came to meet the air.
Chishio would make eye contact with Verena, "Well then, if this is your case let's get the going then. like I said, depending on the bear's response is what will make me decide to kill it or not."

❝We are all broken.❞
[attr="class","verenascroll"] Verena wasn't sure what to think of Chishio. She talked quite a lot. She didn't necessarily think it a bad thing; however, it was certainly something she wasn't used to. Though, the only child of the Reinsbergs could go off on tangents herself as well, especially if she was passionate enough about it.[break][break]
Still, even if it was a curious habit of the elf, Verena didn't think it her place to pry on something like this. There was no way she could without coming off as rude, and she'd rather not get on the bad side of someone whom she'd only just met, as well as a possible ally of Cyrus'.[break][break]
Verena was quite grateful that Chishio was willing to at least consider the proposed plan that she had offered. If her silver-haired companion decided against it, far be it from the crimson-eyed girl to get in her way. She didn't have the strength of will to even consider opposing her. Actually, it was like that for a lot of people, really.[break][break]
Verena watched as she approached her Sound golem, poking it with curiosity. "...That one is...um, well, not exactly suitable for fighting, but that was never the intent, to begin with," she admitted. How embarrassing.[break][break]
Chishio's bit of encouragement caught her off guard. It was something she already knew, but it felt a little... misplaced in this moment? She wasn't sure what she particularly thought of it. It wasn't wrong though, in most cases. There were limits she could never reach, however. There were limits like that for everyone. Peasants would never defeat elite Magic Knights with just hard work and effort. That was just the way of the world.[break][break]
"I take on odd jobs in my travels," Verena answered, a surprising amount of pride and enthusiasm evident for the first time since encountering the dark-skinned Golden Dawn member.. "Window cleaning, tending to fields, moving things. Golems are quite adept at all kinds of work. Where I lack the ability to do manual labor, my golems can, and in turn, help others who might struggle as well."[break][break]
"...All those in my family have been Magic Knights, but... for personal reasons, I've no interest in becoming one myself," she said, her voice becoming quieter and quieter as she spoke. It was clearly a deeply troubling issue for her, and one that she preferred not to talk about. She curled up in the golem's hand as the two traveled, wrapping her arms to bind her knees closer to her chest as the two traveled further into the forest.[break][break]
Verena prepared her golem once they approached the cave, and once they were close enough, an incredibly high pitched, albeit incredibly obnoxiously pitched frequency was emitted from the central head. No doubt, this would get the bears attention. Verena was the first thing the bear would see; however, a higher-pitched frequency rang out through the area again.
Now, it was the moment of truth. How would the bear respond? This was, of course, assuming that the aforementioned beast was even in the cave to begin with.

The true utility of this golem lies in coordination with others, diversionary tactics, and alerting others. It's closer to a Scout golem in that sense, but without any of the benefits that come with such.
"Well, since you are not suited for combat, I will take care of the slaughtering of the bear," Chishio claimed as she stood in front of the cave. All thoughts of the initial agreement Verena and she had gone out the door. This was her moment to 'hunt'. Perhaps, she could sell the coat and meat of the bear in addition to beheading it and showing it's deceased eyes to the mission giver. She doubts this girl knew how to skin an animal after all.
As a weird sound came from the golem, Chishio would undeniably frown. What the hell was that about? That noise was terribly annoying. Hopefully, it'd end soon. The girl found her eardrums getting as sick if it were a stomach eating something bad. She held her palms against her ears.
Then she'd lookup. Chishio could sense movement from the cave, even among Verena's ugly and annoying golem's noises.
it was not just one shadow, but two, that slid along the cave's walls. Chishio's fist clenched the handle of her sword, but before she could even dare to draw the magical blade, two small bear cubs came bouncing out at the pair of young women. Chishio kept her hand on the blade and did not show much emotion towards the wild animals. They were innocent children, and children of most species were kind towards humans. It was only when they got older when they became a problem, much like the cautious townspeople.
The cubs goofily came towards them and smelled their shoes and examined their skin out of curiosity.
"Where's your mom?" she'd say innocently to the bear cubs, almost expecting them to answer. She was not in sight.
Some wild animals, such as deer, would leave their children in a spot while gathering food, only to return to them before the brink of dawn. Chishio thought this was unwise of course, many people would, but that was just their primitive instincts and behavior
One of the bear cubs would then attempt to climb Chishio's calf and end up scratching it with its claws. Clingy to her leg comically, Chishio would balance against a stable tree trunk and shake her leg. It got the message and would hop off, leaving her leg bleeding but also seemingly could tell it's new 'friend' was annoyed.
She'd sigh but not wince, once. Not that the pain was nonexistent though, "Great. You could give me rabies or some disease or sickness you silly bear. Thanks."
Not even she knew the answer to how to use magic to cure a non-blood-related disease. it simply wasn't in her capabilities.

❝We are all broken.❞
[attr="class","verenascroll"] Chishio was definitely the confident type. Her confidence might have come off as arrogant, but she was a Magic Knight and in the Golden Dawn. It was very likely she could back it up. Though, Verena had no interest in trying to backtalk the other girl to begin with. At nothing else, she was confident in her ability to fight, especially against wild, and potentially violent, animals.[break][break]
Verena had, more or less, grown accustomed to her golems' sounds to where it no longer really bothered her, but it wasn't as if she could just ignore it, either. It was indeed serviceable to annoy just about anyone, wasn't it? While that wasn't intentional, Verena lacked the means to take full advantage of sound to create something more beautiful. Something more... refined. She'd need to study further.[break][break]
"...My apologies," she said after the sound died down and she took notice of her companion's not-so-subtle disapproval to the sound. "I've only recently learned Sound Magic, and I haven't had time to refine it. I'm refining my understanding of Sound Magic as best as I can though..."[break][break]
Summoner wasn't a type of magic most people really knew about. Whereas other four-leaf grimoires had history to them--Void, being destruction incarnate, as well as the dichotomy between Light and Darkness for being polar opposites, Summoner never really had a premiere user. Not to mention, it was quite easy to hide their affinity. Several types of magics all had similar origins, especially when they were connected to the four primary magical elements. To say nothing about the limitations; Summoners were only capable of crafting Golems. They were the Golem authorities. She wondered how simply blessed she was to also be blessed with Carbon in addition to her authority of different elements.[break][break]
Lost in thought as she was as she rode upon the palm of her golem, Verena it wasn't until she heard Chishio's rhetorical question to the cubs, spotting the two cubs. Immediately, her eyes widened. Both out of the sight for how adorable they were, and because she realized what was going on. This immediately caused her plan for dealing with the bear to backfire. If she were to return now, then it'd only be out of maternal instinct for protecting her kin. In the bear's eyes, they would unquestionably be a threat to her cubs.[break][break]
"...Don't worry, it's very unlikely that you'll catch rabies. They might be mammals, but pests like raccoons tend to avoid bears if it can be avoided. Most carriers that could get rabies by nature avoid bears. Most animals as a whole do," Verena said reassuringly. "I can find some herbs to deal with the bleeding, but for now, we need to block off the cave, and scout for other places that are close to the village and close those off as well. Otherwise, we might end up being viewed as a danger to the bear's cubs. This is the cave the villagers told me about, and I've been here a few times before to confirm."[break][break]
Verena sighed internally. This wasn't good. As it were, combat was inevitable. And a mother bear would never desert her own. She'd fight to the death. That was something she absolutely wanted to avoid doing.

The bear, oh yes, the mother bear was in a fierce rage. From the sound coming from the cave, nearby a lake, the bear could hear the golem. unsure of the noise, but knowing it was her children she dropped from the clock on her fishing and began to use magic. The bear was running so quickly towards the sound even as
The only thing on its mind was her two children.
The platinum hair elf felt someone coming towards the group as she shook the bear cub off her leg. Chishio completely ignoring everything Verena was saying as well as the awful sound golem's screeching, she'd turn around. And there was a bear coming right towards them.
Chishio already tired of being beaten and clawed up on would dash to the side and activate her sword, "Bloody Fast." her reflexes allowing her to dodge and nearly knocking over the bear cubs, who to were shocked, to the side where they were. The mother bear was running in a linear direction. So guess where it was heading towards now instead of Chishio?
Verena and her golem. Verena was sitting high up on the golem's hand.
The mother bear was heading towards the golem and attempted to claw its hand and the bottom of her legs. The bear was much too heavy to reach all the way up and land a fatal strike to her. Regardless, Verena could face intermediate mana skin damage. if landed enough force could knock Verena over, and if the golem had done nothing would likely be destroyed If it landed on the golem would destruct having Junior ranked health. Regardless, the bear seeing Verena and that annoying noise of hers it began clawing at it in a frenzy. it wanted the noise to stop as much as Chishio wanted it to, if not more. But the difference this was a wild and agitated animal that could kill someone.
Chishio would dash towards the possibly destroyed golem, Verena, and bear with her current speed buff. The girl would sheath her current sword- it was still activated but it was not being used. She'd summon two blades,'Name of Spell: Bloody Hexes: Dizziness", her grimoire flashing open. The blades launched into the mother's back via double-tap would give the bear a full junior speed debuff. The bear would become blind with a strike of shock due to its blood vessels being tampered with. The bear would get on it's hind legs and hold it's head, more specifically eyes, in front of Verena.
The bear cubs immediately began rushing over to her.
Chishio activates her sword to give her a boost. to speed(-8 mana). Then she also delivers two of the spame spell at mother bear causing it to be blind and receive intermediate damage(double tap, - 10 and - 13 mana). This leaves her at 39 mana.
Applicable Perks: Black Mage , Double Tap Description: Upon cutting somoeone and having them damaged via a, a knife made by this spell. Chishio can somewhat effect their blood stream. She can constrict blood vessels and if she focuses in enough on specific ones she can cause dizziness. When the spell first starts it's a blind, the target is shocked, afterward they gain 1/2 speed debuff until the spell is over. Once the spell is no longer activated, she needs to launch the knife again to activate the spell.

Verena might not have been much in the way of a fighter, but she was at least adept enough at surviving. There was a reason she'd survived the past five years living in the wilderness on her own, despite her own fragility. Though she hadn't exactly been in a situation where she had upset a bear, survival instincts would now take over. Her mana was just about halved, so conserving that would be a priority. In that case, there was no longer a need to keep the Sound golem, dismissing it. The reality was they were going to have to fight.[break][break]
It bothered her immensely, but if they could at least incapacitate it... at least, that was her goal, but even if they did, that wouldn't solve their primary objective: the peace of mind of the people. She had a very limited number of Spells she could use at this time, and though she was astonished by this Coral Peacock's use of Blood Magic, a type of Magic she wanted to learn, the exact synergy wasn't something she'd be able to think of. However, first and foremost they needed to disable the bears' mobility as much as possible for when it came charging in.[break][break]
Verena lacked the mobility that Chishio had, and so the bear collided with Verena's own construct. The bear was quite strong, and her golem was starting to show signs of falling apart. It'd last at most another hit, due to its intermediate level health. She realized this, and so her course of action was one of desperation. Given that the best her golem could do was use one arm while she herself was being carried, she had that arm lower closer to the ground, about four meters off the ground before she jumped, making sure that she could roll to minimize the impact.[break][break]
Even still, it hurt. It hurt a lot. But thankfully, adrenaline was something that was one of the premier human characteristics, and as a result, she managed to minimize injury. The sole reason she did this was she believed Chishio would have intervened, most likely aiming to strike the bear from behind while it was busy with the golem. There was little reason to leave such an opening, after all. The Reinsberg heir disliked leaving herself in such a situation, but there was little that could be done at the moment.[break][break]
Chisana had given her an opportunity to flee her golem, which still stood as an obstacle, albeit one that was about to get destroyed. Not to mention, she'd also blinded the bear. Her golem wouldn't be able to take one more hit, but it could at least could strike it when it stood on its hind legs as if to intimidate her construct. "Righ-" she stopped as the cubs rushed to their mother.[break][break]
Verena didn't want to injure the cubs. The people's issue was the bear, not her kin. Verena had her golem back away from the bear, moving to defend her as she stood back up to her feet. It wouldn't last another hit, and this put her at serious risk. She knew that, but she also couldn't risk putting up more than one golem at a time right now with her mana pool. The best thing she could try to do was pacify the bear, to avoid fighting further.[break][break]
She knew that was next to impossible though, but she took a deep breath.[break][break]
Her voice contained an assertiveness Chishio likely didn't know Verena possessed as she uttered a single word. "Calm."[break][break]
Verena's expression was not one of fear, but of sternness. There was no anger, no mal intent. There was no intention to hurt. There was only the expectation that the animal listen. Verena pointed to herself, then to Chishio. She pointed to the cubs after, before raising her arms up in a cross-like manner, to indicate "no good". All the while, she and her golem slowly retreated.[break][break]
"Chishio, we need to separate the cubs from her," she said. She wasn't backing out of the mission, but she refused to let anything get hurt beyond what the mission detailed. Of course, it was just as possible that the bear would charge the golemancer during this.
And so a telepathic command was issued to her golem if that was to happen, even before she spoke to the bear. "Left knee strike. Any target within four feet where Gaia stands at the time. Exception: caster." The speed at which the bear would run would likely cause some hefty damage if the blunt rocks that stuck out of the knee caps. And this command would react automatically. Verena wasn't a gifted mathematician, but the bear was fast and large enough that it'd likely struggle to slow down in time to deal with this.[break][break]
Meanwhile, Verena cautiously retreated all the same.

[attr="class","verenaver2scroll2"] TL;DR verena tries calming down the bear after dismissing one golem. earth golem has one hit left before it breaks. she yeets herself away from the danger when chishio attacked the bear. sets automatic order in case bear still attacks. [break][break]
