Snap!
The sound of brittle twigs crunched beneath Eritheia's feet as she was led to the forest entrance. The air was restless as it quietly whispered throughout the dense forest. High in the canopy the trees sang, sending their own music into the air. The branches danced like clumsy ballerinas as their leaves crashed against one another like flimsy cymbals. Eyes peered at the Magic Knights from the safety of the tree tops. It seemed even the local wildlife knew why they were here and were too timid to move further into the forest themselves. Eritheia looked down at the piece of paper she was provided by the local apothecary. Her scribbles and ramblings were difficult to decipher which didn't help their situation. "So, much for this as a guide to our destination. I can't begin to understand what she scrawled on this dirty piece of parchment. I suspected commoners were lacking in education and refinement, but to have such wretched penmanship is a true shame." She remarked with notable disdain in her voice.
Why was she even here? Her family forced her to join the Magic Knights and now she was to be subject to trivial tasks like some nobody? Is this the life her parents had envisioned? A life of menial labor, hunting rabid beasts in a local forest? She spent the majority of her life being subject to lecture after lecture about the Silva legacy and how she would contribute to the Silva name whether she liked it or not. It was her duty, after all, to make a name for herself and continue to uplift the family name. How utterly boring, especially if this is what she has to look forward to. All this potential and it is being wasted on hunting some beast any run of the mill Magic Knight could slay. Why her? Why a member of the Golden Dawn? Was this a test? Were they trying to determine her level of patience and wherewithal to be a Magic Knight? Either way, she expected more. Eritheia extended her hand and placed the paper in front of Kreig. "Here. You try and make sense of this. Where is this supposed to be taking us? I want to get there, get the job done, and be back home before dark."
As Eritheia requested her fellow Magic Knight to decipher the woman's scribblings, a large roar could be heard from the distance. It was faint, but loud enough to startle her. She looked distantly into the forest, where the shadows grew thick and numerous. Why was she startled? It was just a beast and she was a Magic Knight. She had plenty of power and didn't need to worry. And yet, it had startled her. Maybe she should remain closer to Kreig than she had previously thought. She slowed down her pace and made sure to be right beside him in case anything were to happen. "I guess we have a general direction..." She said in an effort to disguise her nervousness.
[break][break] To say it best this day didn't start off exactly how the lightning mage attended. He was expecting something somewhat sunny with at least fair weather. Instead, what was present for the day just so happened to be the exact opposite. Kreig very much disliked cold weather and to top it off everything was either damp or muddy. Ugh, to be in contiguity not; of such garments of the filth. Kreig then shuffled his clothing so that they would attract less of the elements around him. Blessed be thy appellation for I am within reach of sin. Kreig said in a low tone with a tilted head. [break][break] So, much for this as a guide to our destination. I can't begin to understand what she scrawled on this dirty piece of parchment. I suspected commoners were lacking in education and refinement, but to have such wretched penmanship is a true shame. Kreig raised his head in distain from the words of a fellow magic knights mouth. Silence. Kreig replied with a stern voice. Narcisstic people make nasty, cruel, and insensitive remarks. Their criticisms are rarely factual thing about you, and more of a reflection of themselves and who they are. You become the dumping ground of all their negativity and ill feelings so that they can feel better about themselves. They are incapable of self reflecting or understanding the emotional pain or hurt they cause others. His language seemed to straightened out whenever he was a bit agitated. It didn't last long however, his speech pattern was back to awkward with his next statement. Expectantly that seminar of the primary was adequately fulfilling. [break][break] Such words had not gone too far with the young lady. She still followed up with slander, it just so happen this time not as blunt. Here. You try and make sense of this. Where is this supposed to be taking us? I want to get there, get the job done, and be back home before dark. She said while attempting to hand over the scroll she had received for the mission. Tips of the hat off to ya but decline I shall. Apart of particular, a solitary scroll thy too possess. The Azure Deer mage would the shoo the mages scroll away in light of his own. He then would begin reading from his own. Evidently their is... RAWR!!!!! A loud road captured the attention of the noble mage. [break][break] I guess we have a general direction. She replied as she tried to hide the fact of being timid. Indeed, indeed we do. Kreig went on to give a quick rundown of his mission scroll as he had read it prior to accepting the task. To make an extensive tale miniature. Yours-truly commission is only that of a figurehead. The potential manifested must be of thee. Kreig assumed that the young lady knew that he was only here to watch. Not that he would just let her die by the hands of the beast. He'd only step in if the situation presented itself. Make ready the time is now. Behind I shall follow. He then removed his infamous sword from is backside and pointed in the direction. [break] Eritheia Silva

Eritheia stared at Kreig while he lectured her. Both her face and stare were vacant of any emotion. There was the slightest hint of shock at the man's audacity but she held no commitment to this feeling. It was carried away with the lightest breeze, alongside each word of his bitter rebuke of her. Is this fool serious? Is he honestly trying to lecture me about decorum? I suppose he's trying. Another one of these. How boring. She thought contemptuously just as he was ending his theatrical speech. Was it worth it, though? He didn't know Eritheia and therefore the consequences of such an outburst could be quite detrimental for the mission ahead of them.
Was she someone who would hold a grudge? Possibly. Was she someone who would passive-aggressively sabotage others as punishment? Even more possible. Like many she wasn't without flaws and her noble upbringing made her all the more prone to shifts in mood at the faintest sign of disrespect. She didn't much care how he treated others but for someone of her status, it was wise to be tightlipped unless asked otherwise. The wheels were already turning in her head as her gaze intensified. Her vibrant, wisteria-colored eyes bore into Kreig in a moment of awkward silence. What was she to do? There were so many things she could say or do but like Kreig, she'd give some thought to the consequences.
As the silence dragged on for what felt like an eternity, her body still and gaze fixated on him, she finally let out an unexpected response. She laughed. Her laughter was not without restraint and yet filled with a sardonic quality. It was sweet to the ear as it carried itself like a gentle breeze. Her amusement slowly subsided before inhaling deeply and letting out a sharp, dismissive sigh. She gestured for Kreig to take the map they were provided, but he refused. Yet another mistake on his part. He's keen to lecture but not invested enough to take his own advice. Eritheia passively shrugged and without any thought released the piece of paper and let the wind carry it away. She was no pack mule. If he didn't want to use the map then she had no use for it. If he wanted it let him go searching, she was no longer interested.
"She only gave us one map, so unless you somehow have the ability to instantly duplicate maps that's likely just a collection of messy scribbles you managed to scrawl down during recess. But by all means, lead the way." She remarked snidely. This man's so unpleasant I might just let the beast eat him should the opportunity arise. She thought playfully.
Eritheia effectively tuned-out Kreig as he spoke further. "Ugh huh, yeah, Figurehead. Right." She responded softly as she inspected her nails and then the hem of her cloak. Eritheia disregarded Kreig and allowed him to take the lead despite his preference. She slowed to a near crawl and trailed behind him, distracting herself with various things on her person. "Right. Go on ahead. Have fun. I'll be right behind you and prepared to use spells." She looked up momentarily and nodded. "Good idea. Use that rusty blade. That'll help you slay the beast. I'll provide backup as you said." The beast then roared in the distance, as if it knew they were nearby.

[break][break] The lightning mage thought that he had made everything clear that the mission the two were present with was not that one of his own, but more so as a training seminar for the junior mage the he was accompanying. After all striking down a bear would prove to be only that of a light job for someone of his skill level. It would however present just the right amount of difficulty for that of a junior. Make ready the time is now. Behind I shall follow. The words he spoke weren't just a gesture but also a command. Instead of moving forth the young lady would opt not to lead but give command as if she was in charge. [break][break] Right. Go on ahead. Have fun. I'll be right behind you and prepared to use spells. Good idea. Use that rusty blade. That'll help you slay the beast. I'll provide backup as you said. She replied. Hmmm, Very well then, the lead I shall takeith. Nevertheless, a blade rust shan't be in contact with thy heavenly thread. Mock me if you dare but it is I for whom is chosen by the gods. Then a stern look was given to the girl as he walked away. In the moment of talking to the young knight the lightning mage had conceived a plan to out in motion. Then the lightning mage took out his grimoire and cast a spell that was sure to help the two out. Lightning Creation: Lightning Perception. A spell that allows Kreig to emit a low frequency electromagnetic field around himself that stretches across seventy meters in order to sense the presence of anything that disturbs the field. [break][break] You see for me the complication is minimal with lack the of a map. Be adjacent, for the present forth the true analysis is set about. It did wouldn't take long for Kreig to make way near the ravaging beast. The spell he had cast earlier had picked up it's trail. The thing obviously wasn't having a good day and Kreig could tell due to the malice within it's mana. Apparently the bear had just mauled and killed a traveling citizen walking through the wood as it was seen finishing off the remains of their corpse. Nearith we've drawn. Twenty meters at best. He stated in a whisper in hopes that the young lady was close enough to hear him. It was then Kreig's plan came into play. He pretended to being is usual clumsy self managed to step on a fallen tree branch that caused a loud crack. CRACK!! The bear's attention would then shift toward the magic knights. [break][break] Just as quick at the animal's attention shifted Kreig whipped out a another spell. Lightning Vanishing v.2. This time the spell would only be cast upon himself. Kreig then stood behind a nearby tree to safety insurance. Meanwhile the bear was even more furious that his meal was disturbed and someone had to pay. It then stood tall and let out a thundering roar and began to attack. At full speed it ran toward the young lady lady ripping the ground beneath it with every stride. Once it gets close enough the beast will swipe from the ground upward with every intention to kill. [break] Eritheia Silva

Eritheia looked at Kreig bitterly as he cast his magic. "So, you have access to radar using your lightning magic. How ingenious." She commented insincerely. It wasn't long before the rabid beast had discovered their presence and the totality of his rage was focused on them. Or it was. Eritheia angrily scowled as Kreig vanished from her sight leaving her to deal with the bear. "You wretched coward!" She yelled as the bear began charging. Her eyes widened at its sheer ferocity. Every step it took shook the ground and tore at the earth.
She grabbed her book from its clasp and commanded it to open. The blood red book glowed brightly as the pages turned. "Bone Creation Magic: Burial Ground!" As the pages turned a white hue permeated the outside of the book and bones seemed to creep across its face. Suddenly a 10m swath of bones erupted from the ground. These 3m long, sharp and serrated bones chaotically uprooted the earth and temporarily blocked the beasts path. Bones lightly pierced his underbelly and paws. She could see his massive claws scraping against the bones before a wave of magic overcame the beast.
Eritheia looked onto the scene in bewilderment. The beast swung its heavy paw and smashed from a number of her bones. "Reinforcement magic?" She asked incredulously. "He's going to be able to break through that blockade having augmented his strength." Eritheia angril shouted into the woods. "Where are you, Kreig! Get your ass out here now!!!" Eritheia knew her spells wouldn't be enough by themselves. She had only a moment before the beast had dispensed with the bones.
"Blood Creation Magic: Profaned Stinger!" Blood swirled around Eritheia before a single stiletto dagger made of blood fired at the bear, striking it in the head. The blade was also imbued with hex magic that would lower the creatures control, but she figured that would have little impact. She wasn't sure what to do and Kreig was being of no use. Suddenly, the bear struck a bone and it send it flying in Kreig's direction. It'd pierce the tree, splitting it in half just above his head.

[break][break] If you were on the outside looking in one would think that Kreig was up to no good. In fact what he was up to was the very opposite. The lightning mage only wanted what he considered best for the newly appointed mage. He for sure was the experience one on this mission and wanted the young lady to get first hand experience of her own. Nevertheless the Azure Deer knight would hardly let any harm come to the young one. The sole reason for him taking cover and hiding was to examine the young woman's nature and later set an example or explain what it is to truly be a beloved knight of the kingdom. [break][break] While under his own spell, he was holding himself both invisible and soundless to anyone or anything around. From his position behind the tree the lightning mage would watch and gather information from his comrade as the bear would begin it's rage. He took note that the young lad was swift to bring forth her grimoire without hesitation and performed a clever spell for a foe that was running recklessly. It was enough to stop the bear in it's tracks but only momentarily. Then bear would then power itself up to then slash away at the bones piercing through it skin ultimately shredding every bit of it. He's going to be able to break through that blockade having augmented his strength. The statement made by the young lady as that's exactly what the bear did. [break][break] Where are you, Kreig! Get your ass out here now!!! The young lady deemed his assistance. She then went on to perform another spell by striking a blood dagger in the forehead of the grizzly. During that instance a piece of shrapnel from the debris of bone came hurling in the direct to Kreig at a near unbelievable velocity. The force behind this was so strong that the bone itself pierced through the tree, narrowly missing the back of Kreig head, and split the tree in half causing it to fall on both the left and right side of him. Great Scott. The Azure Deer thought to himself. What an incredible display of raw power. The lightning mage grew a bit of concern but not enough to consider unveiling himself just yet. Perhaps I'll give her a jus bit of my assistance for now. [break][break] Lightning Creation: Illusionary Clone. With his grimore brought for and the knight himself still hiding, a spell was cast. This spell would allow Kreig the ability to create multiple illusions of himself to serve as a distraction onto the battlefield. With it Kreig was able to spring forth a total of eight clones. Each close ran it's own route and would serve as a distraction that it saw fit. A couple would attempt to attack physically, two would perform a fake sacrifice, and the others would perform technique but they'd all just be mere illusions. Now young one. I've given you the opportunity to slay this monstrosity once and for all. It's up to you now to finish the beast. If you cannot then maybe reconsidering your day job may have to come into play.
