[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]He couldn't believe his ears when he was told the story, he thought that the survivor must have been seeing things. It wasn't like weirder things hadn't been seen or happened, after all, they lived in a world of magic and daemons but three-headed beasts which were made from differing animals. He was wondering if the Coral Peacocks were doing some sort of weird experiment again, it honestly would have surprised him at this point given the living hat surrounded by mana beasts in a mansion somewhere. Still, this was something that was in a completely different realm of possibility. This wasn't a mana beast but some sort of twisted jigsaw at least in his mind. He knew there were myths and folklore on such beasts but he hadn't ever personally read up on them. That was going to change it seemed because he was genuinely intrigued on the matter.
Getting up he moved to his organizer and checked what his schedule was for that day, he was actually quite surprised to see he had no training that day, it had been marked out and in what was clearly Winter's handwriting he was told to take a day to rest. "Well, Noire isn't going to be happy. I was supposed to be training with her today." he said as he covered his mouth to yawn. He had to admit he needed the time to rest, his body felt like it had been pushed beyond its limits for over a year due to the quick succession of the spirit dive training. "Best get some reading done so I know what to expect I guess." he said slowly moving out of his bedroom and heading towards his study. "Young sir, do you think you should be moving around?" a young woman came rushing towards him.
"I am fine Mary, thank you for the concern. Could you please get me some earl grey, orange blossom honey and breakfast please? I do not think I am really capable of moving around too much or standing for too long to do it myself today." his voice showed he was apologetic to ask such a thing of her as he honestly was self-sufficient, the woman nodded "Yes, of course, young sir. Where should I have it brought?" she asked knowing that normally he would be normally starting training soon, but, she could tell that he was struggling to move as he normally would. She took a mental note just in case Winter asked her about him when they spoke. "My study if you wouldn't mind." he commented the blonde-haired woman nodded once more "I'll have Sophie bring it when everything is prepared, enjoy your peaceful time." she said before biting her lip.
"I'll have Lian close by in case you need something else or something happens." she said knowing she could have likely been overstepping but Hania knew it was common practice for someone to be near him at all times when he wasn't one hundred percent in case of severe triggers or coma. "That is much appreciated, thank you Mary." he said moving forward once more towards his destination. Getting into the study he closed the door behind him but held to his chest as he struggled a bit to breathe 'Is this normal Amostia?' he sent to the ice spirit 'No, but you didn't rest as much as you should have between the dives. Calling on so much power in such quick succession comes with consequences and your health has been wavering of late Hania' the spirit sent back "Tch.." is all he could say to those words.
After a few minutes and stabilizing his breathing he moved to his table for a moment before heading to the shelves and gathering the books with the information that he was currently requiring. Heading back to his desk he opened the first book and started to read over the information given. This one was on how they were apparently created in the world naturally, he doubted this was going to give him much information. He honestly didn't believe that the gods had anything to do with creating such a monstrosity but it was something he believed he should at least keep an open mind about. Not long after he began reading his door was opened and a red-haired teen came in quietly with a tray after knocking of course. He was so focused on what he was reading he hadn't noticed, this wasn't exactly uncommon that's why the seal of his study had a select rune code that changed daily.
This would allow the staff to enter and exit without much issue as they knew more often than not they wouldn't get an answer, while of course keeping him safe. "Thank you for bringing me my breakfast and tea Sophie." he said turning the page his eyes coming off the book when he said it, the girl smiled and waved "No problem little cousin, enjoy." she said before leaving the room letting him get back to what he was doing undisturbed. He drank and ate as he moved through the information to try to understand what in the heavens was going on here and what to expect, he knew he was under orders of bed rest but he wasn't about to allow others to be harmed by such beasts. He intended to put an end to it all, it was a threat that couldn't be permitted.
Picking up the books he started putting them back to where they had come from, his plate and such was taken away as he was "Thank you Lian, get a carriage ready I am needing to go to Hapshass." he said looking over his shoulder as he put the last book away the woman smiled weakly as she left the room. His hand went to his head 'You are going to push yourself too far if you do this.' the spirit said to him "And if I don't more people could get hurt or worse." he said back as he moved to get his mantle and headed out to the carriage that was already waiting for him. Getting in he looked to Lian handing him a small parcel. "Medicine young master, I worry for you." the woman said, he smiled and nodded
"Thank you Lian, please go flower arrange and spend time with your sisters." he said the young woman bowed and the carriage left shortly afterwards, he looked over the report to know what was going on. It told him he would be with another, he didn't mind working with others, he just hoped that they would just be competent.

Rank & Element: Junior ¦ Light Class & Type: Relic ¦ Accessory (bracelet) Magic Specializations: Physical Reinforcement ¦ Healing Appearance & Lore: A simple bracelet made out of reinforced glass with an opalite charm dangling from it almost like a pendulum, that gives off a dull light during the day and a bright light during the night preventing any natural shadow from forming.
There is nothing of major historical importance or deep story into where this item came from. The white-haired heir of the Ravencrest family has suffered from terrible day and night terrors since he was young and still does to this day. When asked what is wrong he brushes it off telling people not to worry it was a condition he had. He will never go into the terrible things he sees, in fact, he personally wishes he could forget he quickly realized that his perfect memory was a double edge sword and at times he truly wished he didn't have it.
His elder sister Lydia was the first to realize that it happened more when he was in an emotional state or surrounded by darkness. She also realized that he refused to sleep unless every light source he could find was active or he would sleep outside under the sun during the day, this wasn't optimal as he was to be trained to take over the family if anything were to happen to Lydia. Still, there wasn't much anyone could think to do to help him as he refused to open up but even if they could that came with a different set of hurdles they had to get over. Hania earlier in his life wouldn't take things from people due to his treatment before being adopted.
It took a while but Lydia finally found a way to help her younger brother, she had a crystal made with light inside and told him to use it when he sleeps. She said it was hers and she just wanted to see if it would help. He was reluctant but she said it only had to be a few days so he accepted. Throughout those few days, he slept somewhat peacefully so it was clear that it helped but not enough, she could only guess that the light wasn't strong enough. She realized this would be fine for a normal child afraid of the dark but it was clear to the pink-haired woman that this wasn't a normal situation.
She personally designed what she believed would help him the most, she chose the materials, their appearance even the opalite that dangles from it. As the bracelet was being made she slowly started to imbue her own element into the glass beads and the opalite as the former was created and the latter was shaped. It took close to a year to complete but Lydia seen it as something that should be done slow and steady, this was to make sure that it was done right the first time and that no matter what it would be near indestructible for whatever he may face in life.
On what is now classed as Hania's eighth birthday after a certain incident happened, she gave him a box, within it laid the bracelet. He was told to keep it with him always as she would be there to keep the darkness at bay and watching over him so he could be at peace while he rested. From that moment he has always kept it with him even if he hasn't always worn it.

Type & Uses: NA Rank & Specialization: Junior ¦ Physical Reinforcement Mana Cost: NA Range & Speed: NA ¦ NA Stats Affected: -- Description: In the beginning, this ability is inactive, it is only with the use and bonding of the item itself a deeper understanding allows the hidden secret left by a sister wanting to protect the younger brother they've treasured for close to thirteen years. This ability will become an imbued speed buff when it ranks to intermediate.
Hania has been taught how to wield may weapons since he was six years old, however, he has always prefered wielding weaponry that has tied into his true heritage. The fact he clings to a family heritage that seems to have abandoned him bothers his nanny Winter, as much as she and others have tried to knock some sense to him he keeps telling them it is still part of who he is. That he won't abandon part of himself just because his family didn't care for him.
The weapon was a gift from Alyssa Lilygate on the day he received his grimoire. She told him he had now become a man in his own right and it came with the responsibility of protecting things he held dear. He took the words to heart, treasuring the jian that was given to him.
The jian itself almost seems to hold a faint icy white glow when held by Hania as if it resonating with his element. The weapon itself is 28 inches long weighing 1.7 pounds. The sheath and hilt have a black and white design to it, while having ice blue crystals on the bottom of the sheathe, and two at the top.
The top of the sheathe and the hilt have a navy blue silk cord on them. The cord on the sheathe is tied and looped before having two dangling tassels with the same ice blue crystals on them. The top of the hilt on the other hand seems to have had the cord tied and a charm attached. A small lantern with the same ice blue crystals at the top and bottom of it.
Type & Uses: Trigger ¦ 6 uses Rank & Specialization: Senior ¦ Attack Creation Mana Cost: 24 per trigger ¦ 45 Recharge Range & Speed: 80m ¦ 40 m/s Stats Affected: +12 control (self) Description: Swinging the blade releases a flurry of what appears to be ice blue feathers, within a two-meter wide arc and a one point twenty-seven centimeters tall. These feathers edges are razor sharp and will cut through fabric and into the skin as if they are paper dealing senior damage. A direct hit will induce symptoms of frostbite and minor hypothermia.

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
"Yea. Yea someone saw them! They said it was a weird freaky combination of three different beasts!" a large Green Mantis knight shouted from the center of the large dining hall in the Mantis base. A crowd of people surrounding him, knights, civilians, chefs and bartenders. The knight had made a reputation for telling stories in exciting and detailed ways. "It has the three heads! One of a lion, a goat and even a dragon! With wings on it's back they said! A monster like no one has seen before! The rumors even state that there is definitely more than one! And it has a ferocious breath..that stinks like no other! Hahaha!" The crowd of people laughed along with him. Even the fire mage Valo chuckled along right before standing up and walking out of the dining hall. But the eyes of a small girl with green hair was following him as he made his way back to his room.
The monstrosity the story telling knight was talking about, was actually true. It was a mission assigned to only a few capable magic knights in Clover. With Valo being one of them and he was about to head out to Hapshass in a few, right after he gathered somethings in his room. Agneya his spirit was flying beside him, excited to be going on a new mission. And they knew quite a bit about it from the rumors at least, there was a large tower in Hapshass that weird and horrific animal like sounds were coming from. And apparently there was spotting of three headed beats with nasty breath. He thought little of it though and the details, it was probably some freaky magic experiments from a Coral Peacock mage again. They were always doing something weird, and messing with stuff they shouldn't be messing with.
Eventually Valo made it back to his room, his gear and weapons all throughout. His broom which was more of a decoration now, was hanging up on the wall. Below that was the standard Green Mantis magic knight mantle, he barely wore nowadays. He preferred his own custom one, it didn't come with extra man but it had allot more style to it. On his desk nearby was the gift from his mother, a pair red slim gauntlets that resembled fighting gloves the अग्नि, Agní. He had taken them a few times, but had actually yet to use them on the field in battle. He knew they were actually very powerful weapons, but he had yet to be put in a situation where he needed them. There was also his other weapon, some would say his main weapon of choice that was leaning on the wall, 火之迦具土 Hinokagutsuchi. Valo rarely went on missions without it, it became his most trusted weapon. But there was a feeling he may have to move it on soon. He started to reach out for the weapon, with a open hand but stopped himself. "Nora you can come out now." he said with a slight annoyed tone. Right after that the same girl that followed him from the dining hall poked her head out from his open door. Nora was short compared to Valo of course, who was pretty tall. She had bright green hair and petite figure, underneath her green mantis mantle was a cute white and blue skirt outfit. "Ooohh. Uuhh. Sorry! Hi Valo. Hi Agneya." she said nervously tapping her shoe floor slowly.
"Me and Valo are about to head out on a mission. No time for messing around Nora." Agneya replied with her usual tone. Valo gave the young spirit a look before turning back towards Nora. "It's true though. We gonna head out in a few, did you need something?" he asked her. Nora had been keeping tabs on Valo for quite some time now, she was not a your average Green Mantis knight. She sure didn't look like it either, upon first glance one would wonder what a girl like her was doing on a squad like this. But she had a history of theft that led her here, but this only worked in her favor simple because she began to admire Valo. Not in a romantic way at all, but in a mentor and mentee kind of way. She looked up to his abilities greatly, and even more so admired the way he approached his missions and tasks. "It's just...you said. You said I could practice my staff skills with Hinokagutsuchi soon. I was wondering if I could borrow it now. OF COURSE ONLY IF YOU DON'T NEED IT VALO! I DON'T WANNA BURDEN YOU!" she ended up shouting the later part of her sentence, it was typical though with her nervousness.
Valo eye's were wide for a moment, and Agneya had her small hands over his ears. The fire mage looked back at his weapon and smirked. "Yea a promise is a promise. You can borrow Hinokagutsuchi. It's not a burden to me at all. But when I get back, I wanna see those improvements alright." He said to tossing his silver staffed weapon. For a few Agneya looked a little surprised the fire mage was so willing to give up his prized weapon. But she knew he was actually a better overall fighter without it, not to say that the staff lacked anything. It didn't at all, it was just Valo's style overall benefitted from his hands being free of any weapons. Nora caught the silver staff in her arms, and with a ecstatic look on her face. "Of course Valo! Thank You! I'll bring Suchi back as soon as you return! And i'll show you how better I am!" she started to run off towards the training room down the hall and the stairs.
The fire mage nodded at her with a smirk. "Make sure you practice your forms and rotations!! That staff is fickle!" he shouted back at her, before opening the window to his room. Agneya peered over his shoulder, looking at Last wishes that was hanging on his neck as always. It was glowing a feint orange color, with the detailing being white. "Someone's proud. I didn't think you'd be willing to part from your staff."

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]The white-haired heir must have fallen asleep soon after the carriage started moving because before long he felt a gentle hand on his arm "Young sir..." a young man's voice said filled with concern, it was unlike Hania to fall asleep in his carriage regardless of how long the journey was. Hania started to stir a bit his hand going out and his brightly glowing bracelet falling into his hand as it seemingly listened to its owner's unspoken command "Hm?" he seemed somewhat out of it "Young sir, I don't mean to speak out of turn but perhaps I should take you home." he said his concern clearly seen on his face "I'm fine Joshua, where are we?" he would ask as he slowly started to sit up putting the bracelet back onto his wrist "Hapshass as you requested young sir." the man would reply, that caught Hania off guard.
"I must have fallen asleep along the way, I am sorry for worrying you." he said to the carriage driver, it didn't help ease the man's worry as his health had been a concern amongst his personal staff "Young sir, Lian is right this might be too much for you right now." he knew that he was likely overstepping but Hania sighed shaking his head as he stood up and stepped out of the carriage, he knew that they worried but he could fight through things when he needed to and something like this wasn't going to go away on its own. "Rest the horses and get yourself something to eat and drink, I'll return as soon as the task is complete." he said taking the small bag of medicine and placing it within the folds of his hanfu as he moved away from the carriage.
It was true he could have chastised him for trying to interfere but he saw no reason to do so, he was trying his best to take care of a noble that technically was currently within his care. No one wanted to be on the wrong side of his nanny, after all, Winter was formerly the vice-captain of the Coral Peacocks and though retired she still had the sense of duty that never really leaves a magic knight. There was a good chance that everyone that came across him that morning was going to chastised by the woman, for not stopping him, when he was clearly not at full health, but, then it wasn't as if they could stop him if they wanted to. He was the heir to the family they served and though he would listen he would still have ended up doing what he wanted at the end of the day.
He moved to a middle-aged woman and smiled his left hand going to his chest while his right hand was slightly away and turned towards the woman as he bowed a little. "Pardon me miss, I am sorry to bother you on such a beautiful day but I was curious if you could give me some information." he asked his voice respectfully the woman looked up from the flower she was planting and was surprised to see the young heir, it wasn't often to see a finely dressed young man in the village especially dressed as he was. "Yes, of course." she replied standing up and wiping her head with a handkerchief "My report has said that noises have been heard in a tower near here and people have been going missing when they go to have a look, the report failed to mention where this tower was. I was wondering if you may be able to give me such information."
His voice was calm and held a subtle warmth to it, the woman pointed to the east "The noises come from the forest a few kilometres that way, I think it's at the heart of it but I'm not sure." the woman was visibly shaken and he couldn't blame her "Thank you for the information you have given me miss, we will put an end to this." he said leaning forward in a bow "Enjoy the rest of your day miss." he said with a charming smile making the woman smile and nod "Be safe." she said before moving to get back to gardening. He then stood straight and headed towards the village entrance to await the person he would be tending to this task with. He had to admit even that small task of moving from the carriage to the woman felt like a strain, he was able to mask it so that was something.

A white long dragon golem made of fire was soaring through the skies, as it was always Valo's main method of travel it had begun to be quite recognizable by the people of clover that knew of him now. But flying to Hapshass was a great reminder of his first couple missions as a magic knight. His first ever job was completed in this very town, back when he was a simple rookie junior knight. Without any experience under his name at all, but Artemis took him under her wing and started to show him the way. His next mission after that was one he did on his own, now that he had some confidence with him. He took up the job of looking for a missing cat, a smirk appeared on his face as the image of him flipping outside a window to catch the criminals at hand. He had quite the few memories in Hapshass.
The fire mage was sitting on top of his golem with his legs crossed, and gleam of light flashed in his eyes for a second. He looked down and saw the reflection came from his new piece of jewelry gifted to him. It was a simple yet finely made silver bracelet, with a floral pattern etched into it. The fire mage being an actual fan of nice jewelry admired the bracelet a lot. But that was not the only reason he admired it so much.
-Flashback a few days ago-
Valo was in his room at the Green Mantis base, meditating on top of his bed. After months of failure and repetition, he finally got back into the pattern of meditating often to clear his mind. This is was mostly because of the flower mage from Golden Dawn, Hinota Yuiee had paid him regular visits. She mostly always came with some food or treats for him, but that was not the reason he looked forward to her visits. Her presence alone was enough for him, Hinota was a kind, gentle, peaceful, beautiful and spiritual person. She healed him and cared for him in his greatest time of need so he wouldn't have to grieve alone. And this had helped him in so many ways.
A gentle knock came to his door as usual. "If it's you Hino you can just come in." he replied to the knock on his door. Thinking it was the flower mage coming by to visit him as usual. "It is not Lady Yuiee, but she has sent me." the delicate voice responded, causing Valo to stand up with a confused face and open the door. The tall fire mage looked down at young women with black hair and a yellow chrysanthemum hairpin. She was much shorter than Valo, and her outfit was that of a peach and lemon hanfu. She held a small decorative box in her hands and as soon as he opened the door she would try and hand it to him. "Apologies Master Valorisse, I cannot stay long. This is a gift from Lady Yuiee, she wanted to make sure you had personally received it. But couldn't come herself."
Valo's face was still confused as the box was gently placed into his open hand. "Is everything alright? She didn't mention any missions or anything to me." Valo asked her handmaiden with a voice of concern. "Lady Yuiee is perfectly fine, just caught up in family affairs." she replied quickly already making her way down the hall to exit. "Eh-Wait. Tch. Never mind." Valo looked down at the box. "She sure was in a hurry. I'm pretty sure she would tell me if something was wrong." he said opening the box and going back into his room and closing the door.
-End Flashback-
"I wonder if it does anything cool." Agneya questioned sitting on the fire mages shoulder as they both looked at the bracelet. He twirled his wrists a few times to see the rest of it. "Knowing Hino it probably does, she's always planning for stuff like that." he said casually with a smile on his face. "Maybe we'll find out later." The duo was approaching the entrance of Hapshass, and his dragon golem started to make it's way down. The fire mage and spirit spotting a particular figure standing there. Getting a closer look at the males long silver hair, the icy blue and white outfit and cold piercing stare. Valo knew who this was, this person was Hania Ravencrest. The Ravecrests had to many members for Valo to keep up with, but there was two that stuck in his mind. Lydia Ravencrests for obvious reasons, given their last interaction. And her younger brother Hania Ravencrest. Hania was the same age and nearly the same ranking as Valo. Word of his accomplishments were starting to reach outside of the chatter between magic knights, and started to reach much of clover. Being a magic knight of high ranking it was rare for another magic knight to not at least know of him.
Valo started to stand on top of his long golem's back with perfect balance, looking at Hania with his arms crossed. As he did with almost every other magic knight that were similar to him, he was sizing him up in his head.
Whose this guy?
If i'm not mistaken that's Hania Ravencrest. An up and coming Crimson Lion squad member. Younger brother of Lydia Ravencrest. The rumors say he's quite the talent and nearly twice as strong and capable.
Ooohhh. Interesting.
Valo eventually did a short hop from the golems back and landed on the ground just a few meters away from the ice mage. "You must be Hania Ravencrest. I've heard about you." he said to him with a smirk on his face.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]The ice mage could feel the surge of mana in the area so knew that his partner for this task was close by 'Seems we have company.' he said to the dormant spirit within his spirit. As much as it pained him to admit he was requiring Amostia's strength as a crutch or he would be quite bed-bound at the moment. He didn't understand why it took his body so long to get over things where it didn't seem to take others even a fraction of the time, he guessed it was just another defect that he was born with. He had to wonder if that was yet another reason his biological parents hated him other than the giant black birthmark he was born with on his left side. He wouldn't really know as he was raised by maids until his sister Ai came into his life around five months before her death.
The only time he ever saw his parents is when they wanted to berate, insult and beat him he had forgiven all that long ago, he had even forgiven them for abandoning him in a far off land where he couldn't understand anyone. The one thing he could never forgive them for was taking his sister Ai out of the world because she dared to show him light in the darkness. He wanted them dead in the worst kind of way but he knew his sister wouldn't want that. She was a kind soul, the one who volunteered to be his nanny though it meant losing her sight and ability to speak. He shook his head, it wasn't the time to think about such sad things she would want him to be happy and for the most part, he was, he just wished she was there to experience it too.
Hearing the other's voice he turned to look at him, his face stoic as normal as he sized the other up briefly. His left hand went to his chest while his right hand was slightly to the side with his palm faced towards him as he bowed slightly "I am." he said as he stood straight once more "And you are the unrelenting flame Valoriss Stark." he said calmly, the other's fame was known quite well within Clover. There were many other reasons that someone might know Valo other than his deeds and how powerful he was. Not many commoners can say that they danced with the head of an up and coming noble family. It was all the talk in the noble circle for months, it drove him nuts with all the speculation and rumours. That luckily came to an end recently when Alyssa and Lydia started dating.
"I trust you are up to date with the current affairs here?" he asked calmly, he would home he at least knew the bare bones of why they were there but he could fill in any missing information along the way if need be. "We should get going." he said as he started moving out of the village and down the road towards the forest where the attacks had been happening. There was plenty he could ask or even speak to the other about but to him, it was a waste of the little energy he had right now so remained silent. He of course would answer any question asked of him but he wouldn't willingly start the conversation. It wasn't that he was being rude, it was just he knew just how far he could push himself before something bad would happen, the last thing he needed was to be mauled by one of these creatures.

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Valo left his arms crossed and raised his eyebrows, when Hania did his slight bow. He would never understand it, the act of nobles and such. Hinota and Kiyoshi could explain it to him a thousand times, it still would make no sense to him. Apparently even his sister thought this way as well sometimes, which annoyed him a little bit because they are blood related. And someone blood related to him also partaking in this noble stuff meant that someone expected him to do it. And the chances of that were slim to none.
Hania spoke using Valo's full name and the title name given to him by the people of Clover. "Just Valo is fine. I only let a very small group of people use my full name, you will not be one of them." Valo replied and he was pretty adamant on that, the last thing he wanted was everyone in Clover calling him Valorisse cause then he would have to punch everyone in the face. Valo at this point though was getting used to the fame that he had acquired, at first it bothered him that so many people knew who he actually was now. But now he doesn't dislike it or relish in it, it simply is what it is now. If anything since this spotlight is brand new to him, he as to make sure to live up to the title of The Unrelenting Flame.
Agneya came zipping down to look at Hania closer, her arms crossed and a pout on her face. "My name is Agneya Astra, you could use my full name if you like. Unlike Valo over there, I take pride in my full name. He also says you should be pretty strong, but you look pretty frail. But we'll see sooner or later."
"Agneya!." Valo called to her with a annoyed voice, she zipped closer to him and sat on his shoulder. "What? I'm just speaking my mind." Valo shook his head in annoyance, dealing with her was like dealing with a brat.
"Yea yea weird looking monsters need to be taken care of. Tower in forrest. Simple stuff." Valo replied to Hania's question walking back to his golem and got back on it with a simple hop and followed him as they made their way. There was a silence in the air, and usually Valo didn't mind some silence. But he had to admit he did have some questions for the young Ravencrest. "So Hania how strong are you compared to your sister Lydia? She owes me a rematch one day, when I was a junior she beat me and few of other sqaudmates pretty bloody. I didn't forget about that." Valo asked with a confident tone, it was easy to tell he wasn't kidding.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania looked to him and withheld a smirk at the reaction of how the other had taken to him saying his full name, the Ravencrest heir shared the sentiment and that's exactly why he did it when his own was used. "If you do not wish me to call you Valoriss then only use my first name, my last name has little to do with my duty." he said calmly showing exactly where his stance was on the matter was. He wasn't ashamed of his family name, he was proud to be a member of it but he wanted to be respected because of his own actions not because of the family name that he had. He believed that nobles that rid of the coattails of their families name were little better than dirt, more often than not because the entitled assholes acted as if they were so much better when they had done nothing to earn their status.
"So why don't we come to an agreement? I'll call you Valo if you just use my first name." He wasn't normally so informal but he would respect the other's wishes so longs his own were respected in return. He turned his gaze to the fire fairy that was pouting in front of him and blinked, he was unsure whether he should swat her like some sort of bug or not because he did dislike anything getting too close to his face. It wasn't that he saw her as a threat or anything, it was more he didn't like his personal space being penetrated. "It is a pleasure to meet you mistress Agneya Astra. I would kiss your hand like a gentleman would a lady but I'm afraid your delicate hand is too small for such an action to take place." he said calmly before taking a step back giving himself a bit of comfort.
"Looks can often be deceiving young mistress Agneya Astra, but, on this occasion, I fear you may be correct in your assessment of my current strength." He wasn't about to lie, at current he was fragile and he knew it. He turned to the fire mage and shook his head "There's no reason to scold her for having a keen eye." he said his voice remaining as calm as it had when they first met only a few moments prior. "You, however, should be careful mistress Agneya Astra as not everyone will like hearing of how frail they appear and may take insult to it." He knew the fire spirit would likely take that as a challenge and comment something brash, he hated the fire element so much, it was too emotional for his liking.
He let out an exasperated sigh as he heard what the other said and wondered if he had ever even read a book. "Yes, let's just go with that." he said shaking his head wondering what in the hell he had gotten himself into. He continued to walk quietly, he preferred it to idle chit-chat but it would seem as if Valo had different plans. He started to ask him about how he was in strength compared to his older sister. He had to prevent himself from rolling his eyes, he hated being compared to his sister it was one of those annoyances most siblings had if he had to guess. "I do not compare myself to my sister, we are separate people though we are in the same family." he said wanting the subject to be dropped entirely, whether the other would get the hint or not he wasn't entirely sure.
"You were just starting out on your journey at that point, it is obvious that you wouldn't have stood a chance against her." he said continuing forward towards where the tower was said to be. "As for the rematch that's between you and her." he said not really wanting to get involved in such a futile fight. It had nothing to do with him and he actually seemed quite disinterested at the prospect of the fire mage fighting with his sister. With all that said he went quiet once more and just kept walking enjoying the sound of the world around him 'Hania, you shouldn't have done this. You should still be resting.' The ice spirit sent to him from his spot within his soul 'Perhaps, but I couldn't just sit by and allow this to happen. I have my medicines and there is a carriage within the town to take me home after.' he sent back, he just knew Winter was going to be anything but pleased with the situation.

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Valo's eyebrow raised when Hania replied to his full name comment, and a similar smirk appeared on his face. "Hania it is then...Mmmmm nah I'll think of something else to call you." Valo responded. So far some nobles he met took this idiotic and immense pride in only being addressed by their last name. It seems Hania did not share that same view, Valo could respect that about him. The noble rather be looked and remembered for his own name not the one given to him.
Agneya who was a little taken aback by Hania's words, started to warm up to him a little. She was feisty and as rude as they came sometimes, but poor a little kindness her way and she may look at you differently. She touched her hand and pulled it closer to her, with her little cheeks blushing just a bit. "I don't want you to kiss my hand anyway." she replied.
But the ice mage confirmed Agneya's words a bit. Stating at the moment he was a bit frail, and not at his current full strength. This left Valo pondering on why? And also why would he let himself get to such a state, Valo was a mage who constantly sought to better himself and be stronger. But he knew that his body and his mind was like a temple, if both are not fully healthy one cannot seek to grow any stronger. Valo gave the fire spirit a look. "Yea a keen eye. Next time don't be so rude." After Valo said that he caught himself. He remembered when he used to get lectured on not sounding rude. Oh how times have changed.
Valo listened as Hania responded to his question about his sister. He doesn't compare himself to her, because they are separate. While that much was true, it didn't answer his question. So decided to ask it in another way. "I'm not asking if you guys get long or not. But...you know what never mind. Your right thats between me and her." Valo let it go for another time. He knew his competitiveness was a bit hard to understand for others. But he was wondering how powerful Hania was now, surely being trained by Lydia and held in high regard had to mean he was strong. But how strong was he?
Eventually the group would make it to the tower, there was some loud and horrifying animal noises coming from the tower. Agneya flew up into the air looking at the tower from a birds eye view. Getting a peak at all the mana beasts that were lurking inside, she flew back down and landed on Valo's shoulder. "There's allot of them in there. Weird monsters kinda scary looking." she said. Valo started to stretch his arms looking at the tower again. "Alright Hania, how do you wanna do this?" the fire started to look look up and down at the tower. "We could go in and fight our way up till we find the one responsible, that could be fun." he started to suggest. "Or we go in from above and fight our way down." Valo continued with using his arms to add to his expressions, but it was clear that suggestion was more of a joke and not to be taken that seriously. "Oorrrr hear me out. We blow the whole thing up, and make it quick." Valo suggested last thinking the noble probably wouldn't want to do it this way.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania took note of the smirk that appeared on the other's face which meant he was likely going to end up with some foolish nickname from the fire mage. He hated being called anything other than his name, even being called 'Hani' by his elder sister annoyed him but he bore with it for her, she was his family, the one that saved him from perishing when he was six and had cared for him every day since. "Please do not, I prefer only to be called by my name. I request you respect my wishes." he was as neutral as when he first started to speak to the other male, his emotions were in undertones but unless a person knew what they were looking for they'd likely miss it. This is the way he preferred things, he didn't like being read or people believing they knew what he was thinking.
To him, this was simpler but then he had been like this even as a child and though Winter and Lydia had tried to help him open up and to a certain degree they did have some success. He still wasn't open with the two women but that was his right as far as he was concerned, his past was his alone and if he didn't want to speak on it he didn't have to. His thoughts, aspirations and other similar things fell under that same umbrella. They may have not liked it but they were not willing to push knowing he would just withdraw further, they believed he would tell them when he was ready but in truth, the only times he spoke about his past was when others spoke of theirs first. He believed that sharing personal things was a hard thing to do and should be treated in kine.
He brought up his hand a little as he saw a small blush on the fire spirits cheeks, even if she was speaking the truth about not wanting him to kiss her hand she was still obviously flattered by it. "I do hope Valo has been treating you well mistress Agneya, a beautiful fire rose like yourself I would imagine requires care and attention." he said his voice showing some warmth to it as he spoke to the fire spirit. It wasn't that he was flirting or anything, it wasn't within his nature but he did believe that women deserved to have kind words showered upon them. It was how he had taught himself as it seemed to have the desired effects within the noble courts and subsequent meetings. Alyssa had also taught him how to treat noblewomen so that had helped him a great deal.
"I don't mind her words, I pushed too far in my training and have yet to let my body rest as it needs to." he said walking forward "Unfortunately, our chosen profession doesn't allow extended leave as some people can't seem to live within the law." he said understanding first hand what would cause people to commit crimes, he had done so as a child to survive but had almost died because he had rarely done it. He didn't want to get into trouble and it had almost cost him his life if he hadn't have stolen from Lydia that day and if she hadn't taken pity on him he was sure he wouldn't be standing there right now. There were, however, others that felt they had the right to do as they wish to others. This of course didn't sit well with him as it was because of people like them others suffered.
He looked at Valo, the fire mage was known for his competitiveness. It was something that people had in general but over what was a different matter completely. "I am aware you aren't asking if we get along. You were asking how strong am I in comparison to her. I do not compare my strength to others, it distracts me from my personal growth, I do understand why others such as yourself do it however." he said thoughtfully. He knew that some people used others strength to motivate them, he personally saw that as a crutch for progression as there were other ways that could do the same thing. "How did you grow stronger before becoming competitive with other mages?" he asked, he was genuinely curious if he had always been like this or if he had another motivation before this.
He was glad that the other agreed that what happened between himself and Lydia shouldn't involve the ice mage, he didn't want to get tangled up in that. "I'm happy that we have an understanding on that, I'm sure my sister would happily spar with you if you asked her." he said as they continued to walk. Normally, he wouldn't have minded a spar if offered to him but given his nanny and sister were going to be irritated he was still pushing himself he would have needed to decline until he was more himself. It wasn't exactly within his nature to push himself but there were reasons that he did, often if he pushed too much he ended up in a coma for a while much to the chagrin of Winter. Other times he would drop for absolutely no reason, Winter wanted him to leave the magic knights but he couldn't as far as he was concerned this was his life now.
Eventually, the pair came across the tower the woman was speaking about, he took note of the noises but didn't seem phased by them in the slightest. He watched as the fire spirit went to have a look only to speak to Valo, she didn't exactly give detailed information which was something he was accustomed to from Amostia. "Those would be the Chimera most likely." he said calmly his eyes looking up and down the tower, it would be easier if he could have used Amostia to check for weak points but he was relying on his spirit in other ways at current. His eyes looked at the fire mage for a moment, fighting inside was going to be dangerous because it would be closed quarters
"We need to lure the enemy outside, if either of us uses spells in there we'd likely bring the place down on our heads and I'd rather not end up in another coma." he said as he brought his hand to his chin and he thought for a moment "Please get ready because those things are not going to be happy." he moved towards the tower placing his hand on the brick wall he concentrated his mana into his hand and let it creep out over the building. This wasn't a true spell but merely a basic thing any mage could do with enough control. It was like covering a basic weapon with mana just he was doing it with a tower, with his element he knew the temperature within it would quickly drop forcing the enemy out or they'd freeze to death. He could already tell the fire mage was more of a class clown with some of the suggestions he was making but it took all walks of life in their line of work.
He could feel the rumble through the brick as they started to run towards any available exit on the ground, this way they would be funnelled instead of the two mages being handicapped. He was feeling the stress on his body even doing this as a few beads of sweat ran from his brow which shouldn't have been happening given the amount of cold he was producing. "They're coming. How are you at shooting fish in a barrel?" he would ask with a vague smile as the beasts started to run out and directly towards the fire mage and his spirit, if nothing else he knew the fire mage would enjoy himself which was a good thing because then he didn't have to strain himself too much more. He'd continue keeping the tower cold until the very last chimaera was out his head going to the wall as he closed his eyes his breathing slightly laboured.

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Agneya's cheeks started to turn so red, it matched the color of her hair. She wasn't quite used to these kind of compliments and words as Valo was a very simple minded fellow. "See Valo why don't you treat me like a beautiful fire rose, I require care and attention!" she shouted at the fire mage. He simple rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Yea, yea. We got roses at home for ya."
"A distraction??" Valo said out loud hearing Hania's reply. The fire mage never once thought that comparing his strength to others as a distraction. If anything it only fueled him more to reach greater heights, but all the means of competition. "I've never heard that take before. When I measure my capabilities to others that are stronger, it's just as that a comparison. To see how far I have to go to measure up and eventually surpass them and go even further beyond. I'm not ashamed to say that I wasn't born with much at all, in terms of riches or even mana. So getting stronger seemed like the only option, once I realized stealing wasn't it." Valo started to answer his question. Recalling the times him and his mother struggled to make ends meet sometimes, but a smile appeared on his face. Those times were a struggle for him which eventually lead to him stealing and causing trouble, but all those things made him into the young man he was today. Then he started to think on why he was so competitive, and it always lead back to one thing his father. He would never forget the words his father told him that night. But even then his inner drive to surpass all those who looked down on him was strong. His father's words served as that extra push, but he would be lying if he said it was all do to him. Valo's path to get stronger was aligned simply because he wanted it, that was all. "Sorry to disappoint. But Ive always been this way. I could say someone's words pushed me a little further, maybe made me a little bit more competitive than my guardians would have liked. But I like to think I would have ended up the same way regardless." Valo said with a chuckle.
The fire mage started to reach behind him where his red gauntlets were strapped to his lower back, placing each one and tightening the grip. They were a gift from his mother, that he hadn't got to use yet. He guessed that they would probably increase the power of his punches significantly, which excited him. He listened to the ice mage as he spoke, he had a solid idea of luring the creatures out and attacking them that way. Which Valo had no issue with at all, his talents were all geared towards offense and when he could make use of his talents he had little to complain about. Hania gave him warning to get ready, in which Valo replied with a smirk and a thumbs up. Agneya stood on top of his head with a evil grin on her face. Valo started to put some distance between him and the ice mage not wanting to get him hit the crossfire, although the fire mages control of his flames was high. For the spell he planned to use he could control how wide and high the flames could go. Valo held his his arms out in-front of him, and blue flames started to encircle him in a three meter area distance. "Now Valo!" his spirit shouted pointing at all the incoming mana beasts with the same grin on her face. "Noboru Taiyō!" He shouted unleashing a powerful vortex of blue incinerating flames! He then extended the area of reach to about fifteen meters, makings sure his flames caught all the incoming beasts and left none of them left. From his count there was twenty of them as they came flying thanks to Hania's mana signature. As the flames hit them the numbers went down from twenty, to twelve, to six then to three and finally none.
As soon as the threat ceased Valo ended his spell looking around, but also using his ki to try and locate more not picking up any. "Is that all of them?" He asked although he could tell that was probably it. "That was quite the number." she commented on how many there was, rubbing the back of his head. He looked around and thanks to the control of his flames damage to the forrest was pretty minimal. Looking back towards the tower now there was only one thing left to do, get the culprit responsible for these monstrosities. Commanding his golem to fly next to him, Valo hopped on and flew to the top of the tower getting a good look at the window seeing the wizard looking scared for his life. The wizard was an old man with messy grey hair and dirty dusty old clothes. The look on his face was panicked and shock as he didn't expect that all of his chimera monster getting destroyed in one attack. "Hey! Are you the one responsible!?" Agneya asked in a shout crossing her arms while Valo was standing on top of his golem. The wizard refusing to answer instantly started to run down the stairs of the tower, avoiding Valo. The fire mage rolled his eyes, and simply shouted towards Hania. "Hey he's making a run for it probably going to come from the entrance." Valo told his partner.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]He watched as the fire spirit's cheeks seemed to turn the same shade of red as her hair and smiled, shaking his head a little. “I’m guessing you never learned how to speak to women due to constantly training your strength.” he said to the fire mage, just between how the spirit was acting, her words and his reaction it showed romance and the likes were the last things on his mind. "Women are beautiful like flowers and though they can hold dark hidden secrets within or thorns outside they are still delicate and at times wish to be treated like it." he said calmly hoping the other would understand but he wasn't going to hold his breath. The fire mage had a reputation of being rough around the edges, though, was thought to be the next person to become the second in command of the green mantis squad eventually even becoming captain.
He nodded to the other male's words "Yes, to me it is a distraction." he knew that not everyone was the same and believed that surely Valo thought the same. The fire mage saw it as a way to improve himself but the ice mage saw it as a way to have tunnel vision to everything around him. Being hyper-focused on one thing had a time and place but to him, training and self-improvement wasn't one of them, then again he had a gift, or, perhaps a curse depending on the situation that others didn't. Hania had a perfect memory, he need only to see, read or hear something once and he never forgot it. Gods, there were times he wished he could forget things, then again, there were times he wished he had all his senses removed from him or didn't even exist at all but he kept those thoughts to himself.
"I'm not surprised you haven't heard it before, pretty much everyone thinks the same way as you do." he said thoughtfully. "They find a mountain and try and get to the summit, when they do they want a new mountain to conquer and so the cycle repeats." he finished. This was exactly how he viewed that kind of mentality, he often wondered what they would do if they ran out of mountains to overcome as that was how they lived their entire lives. That, however, was not his problem as he didn't try and strengthen himself by trying to reach the summits of mountains. No, he didn't work that way he would create a personal best and try to better it each time he attempted that task. He wanted to improve himself but didn't feel the need to try to knock people off their steps to do it.
Perhaps that was one of the many reasons his adoptive father hated him so. No matter how he improved, no matter how he managed to perfect things it was never good enough for the man only causing him to try and improve himself more. He guessed he was like Valo in some ways just their approach was different on how they reached their goals. He listened to the other as he explained he wasn't born with much in the terms of mana or riches Hania closed his eyes "There was no mana where I was born and raised for the first five years of my life." his voice was soft as he told the other things he normally didn't tell anyone "I was kept in a single room and was only allowed out for thirty minutes under the moonlight to play." he said his eyes opening.
His ice-blue eyes turned to Valo "I was abandoned on a ship and ended up in Clover. I didn't speak a single word of the language here and lived on the streets for a year. I almost died face down in the snow when I was six, if Lydia hadn't taken pity on me I wouldn't be here working with you today Valo." his voice was calm but by the look in his eyes, it was clear to see it was no lie, in the noble circles it was a well-known fact that Hania had been adopted outside of that most likely not. Yes, he had the world pretty much at his feet now but it hadn't always been that way. It was because of his past he never took what he had been blessed for granted because as quickly as it could be given it could be taken from him once more.
"I am not disappointed. How could I be? We have just met." he said stoically, he had to admit his parents own words were what drove him to improve. Then again, they were the reason he was reclusive... well there were other reasons such as the terrible things he saw when triggers happened and his birthmark, though these things were not spoken about openly. It had taken thirteen years and Lydia opening up about things before he spoke of his own triggers. "Have you began to bond with each other?" he asked the pair as he continued making the tower cold. It was taking quite the strain on his body to push his mana as he was but it was the most effective way to deal with the problem. The Chimera came rushing down and soon enough all twenty were taken out with a single spell, the ice mage wasn't at all surprised.
He wanted to stop then and there as his body felt like it was ready to give out on him but he knew that the one that had caused this issue still needed to be dealt with. He looked around the forest and where the damage could have been much worse from the flames it was still too much damage for his own personal liking. He made a note to send some foresters to the place so they could tend to the hurt and damaged trees, he didn't blame Valo for the damage as it was an inevitability as he was a fire mage inside of a highly flammable area. He, however, had to commend the control he had on his flames to not create a fully-fledged forest fire that a lesser mage would have likely started. He remembered Taiyo and Leo and internally shuddered.
He looked up as the other yelled down at him, he just made his way slowly to the front of the tower as if he didn't have a care in the world. It wasn't that he didn't want to rush, he just couldn't he was already straining his body and he knew if he pushed too much further then he would just collapse. That would go over well with Lydia and Winter he was sure. The other reason he wasn't in too much of a rush was "Three... two... one..." there was a scream of pain from inside the tower as the elderly insane mage slipped on the icy stairs that he had ended up making to get the Chimera out. He walked into the tower and up several flights of steps to see the man trying to get up with a bloodied head.
Lunging forward, he roundhouse kicked the mage into the wall knocking him out due to the force. Reaching into the folds of his clothing he brought out two silk cords he usually used for his head and created makeshift bindings for his hands before dragging him up and out of the tower. "He slid down some steps in his attempt to escape." he said to the other "So, would you like to take him to the guards or should I?" he would ask if Valo agreed to take the responsibility he would hand the man over and make his way slowly back to the town. On the other hand, if Valo suggested he do it he would get back to the town as quickly as he possibly could, he would refuse a ride if offered; the ice mage really did dislike heat.

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
The fire mage would use a mana tether to control his golem back down to the ground, after seeing Hania go in and deal with the runaway crazy mage. Valo's mind began to wonder though on what he meant by bond with each other, it was such a random question that he didn't know what he was referring to. "Agneya what did he mean by bond with each other?" he asked his spirit. The spirit herself rolled her eyes in annoyance. "I'll explain later." was all that she replied.
Valo crossed his arms and looked at the crazy mage that Hania caught. A wicked smirk crept on his face as the ice mage asked his question. "I'll take him! We can have some fun along the way." Valo answered quickly cracking his knuckles. "Plus you look a little tired, go home get rest. Even I know when to stop pushing my body to much." Valo added taking the crazed mage.
Eventually he would fly off on top of his golem to deliver the criminal to the guards.
"So you like him?"
"Like who? Ice boy back there? No way. Fire and ice could never mix."
