It wasn't until there was nothing left to loose that this ended up happening. There wasn't a need to seek them out, they would look for him. All Joseph had to do was boldly look like himself, devoid of all disguises. He wasn't even trying to make his hair look calmer, the only thing that kept him from standing out in most towns within the clover kingdom. Things seemed quieter than usual, but that was expected. How many of these people recognized him as someone who grew up around this city? Dressing plain, looking as such and being as silent as a shadow. At the moment it was in the middle of the day, making his hair only stand out more. The thick locks were free, long, and wildly wavy in most sections of the hair. The bangs were their same slightly bent but mostly straight selves, it was just now the rest of it wasn't being tamed down anymore. Bits of his natural deep orange hair color his from the color skewing effects the light had on the locks, allowing it to be sprinkled among the paler orange hues that were tangled with the pale yellow that the light played upon the strands that shimmered within its grasp. It was far easier to tell his mother had been Yaling Shengxiao. She had been commonly known by by her stage name 'Burning sunset', or her married name, 'Janine Cobborn'.
She had always done what she wanted and never worried about the morality or consequences of those actions. The young man had known subconsciously that she had been selfish enough to end up as the core of many of their own root issues. She had married a man and cheated on him, she had loved music and thus made sure his entire life was music. When he didn't have a voice to cause concern with, she had given him one by unclean ways. If he had been left without one, the father that he had known would have never gone insane from fear. If she didn't go out of her way to do exclusively what only she wanted, then he wouldn't have been so expected to follow her steps to fame through song. The more he knew, it seemed he found the more reasons he had to he upset. It took a letter from HER FAMILYS ESTATE for him to even find out her real name and that he was a Shengxiao. Seeing how her immediate family looked made it far more clear that she hadn't kept loyal to her husband in the bedroom, no matter how diverse the less closely related family members of her family look. What was his plan? Did he have one? Simply draw out the party angry at him by showing them he wasn't afraid to be in the city that he was raised in. Was his father family upset at him? That was just too bad.
There was something deeper than their 'morality' and he was finally planning to find out. There was no reason to fear consequences anymore, because there was nothing left that they could do. His pride had already been dashed by his own actions by leaving the azure deers. There was a lot that stopped mattering after that happened, one of them was what those in the wrong thought about him. Another thing was trying to care about toxic people. No matter how many memories he was missing, it was at the least clear as the days bright blue sky that hung above the forest nearby that they were acting toxic. Kick him out if he joins the magic knights? He has realized that these actions make no sense in a loving caring family, nor the finality of it. Until his family hears that hes in town, how did Cobborn plan to use up the time? The answer was strangely nearby, walking down one of the streets nearby and dressed in their magic knight attire, with weapons on hand. Joseph himself no longer had a uniform and who knows how he managed to remain so clean without a home. It was possibly related to how many hours he had spent in the wilderness far before ever joining the magic knights. It was easier to look clean when you know where to look and to be healthy when you know what to harvest and when.
“Yugo! I didn't expect to see you strolling through my hometown, what brings you here?” He called them out, knowing full well that it was the best way to get someones attention. Still, a wave from one of his hands was also included as the young man started to walk towards the other. Still, that didn't mean he would continue to verbalize with someone when it wasn't needed. He started speaking with his hands as soon as they were sure the others attention had been caught. ~What do you like to eat? I might know a good spot your stomach might enjoy.~ Were people still looking? Nobody would stop just because he was talking to someone, something he never really did in public when they used to live there.

The rumors of strange creatures in the area had been a part of what drew Yugo toward this strange location he rarely visited, the other was two fold. He was always in constant search of new information regarding Daemons, and he would not give up on that research lightly. The last reason however, was the biggest reason he was in this town. He had heard rumors that a magic Knight Known as Joseph had left his squad. Yugo had known him only a little while on a mission together that didn’t pan out. Despite that he wanted to at least check in on him, and make sure he was okay. That alone was more then enough to spur the Young Silver Eagle into action. For a Magic Knight to leave their squad officially, there must be a reason, and it was Yugos duty as a fellow knight to check in on them and make sure they had an adequate support system if need be. [break][break] Yugo wore his Silver Eagles Uniform with a regal regard for the meaning of it, the crest of his Squad proudly displayed on it, every vieable side had the mark, so no matter what way you looked at him, you would know he was Magic Knight. On his wrist, the small crossbow shooter was there, and on his hip, his thunderblade made it possible to engage in close range and long range combat at the same time. Each of the weapons served a purpose, jsut as Yugo wished to be like for the Magci Knights. A weapon that serves its purpose and nothing more.Yet… at the same time he could not help but feel he was missing some understanding of what it meant to be a weapon for something, how could such a soft and fragile boy have become so willing to die to protect others? For what real purpose would he live if he had no understanding of what he truely sought? He shook himself free of his inner thoughts and made his way down the forested street, the trees above were beautiful in their fall colors and he wondered how much longer it would be before bitter winter set in. [break][break] It wasn’t long as he searched throught the city to find the man he was looking for, but in this current form he hardly recognized him. It was hard to tell, but had he been sleeping outside? His clothing was clean for sure, but it had those tell tale signs of being outside for extended periods regardless. He was soon called over by his friend, then as he approched, the smell of the wild filled Yugos nose and he felt a pit in his stomuch. It was clear that he wasn’t meaning to appear this way, but that his comrade had to suffer like this. He was taken aback by Josephs sudden energy, but as he switched back over to signlanguage he smiled so faintly, that only someone as close as Joseph was standing would be able to tell it was a smile at all. It was soft, and filled with a calmness he couldn’t hold back even if he tried. Despite the new questions he had, His friend was alive and seemingly safe, for that he was greatful. [break][break] ~My friend, You are well. I am relieved. I am not too hungry, however, let me pay for a meal for us both to share, and to reconnect over. I had heard this was where you were, But tnot that it was your hometown.~

Laughter escaped deep from within, the young mans posture loosening as he curled forward for a few moments. This was certainly not at the concern, but something else entirely. ~People thought I was here? They think I'd stay in this city after my family disowned me for joining the magic knights? They really knew that little about me.~ His hands had some difficulty signing the words out while he was so amused, but he managed. Eventually the laughter died down and Joseph managed to straighten his body back up. ~Sorry, I'm touched that you were worried about me, but I only got here a few minutes ago.~ It would be good to let them at least know what a bad spot to find him this would be. Trying to find him here would be like trying to catch a wild trout with your bare hands without any practice previously. He stook his head just thinking about Yugo caring more about payment than what they would be eating. No, that was not how things would go! ~If you wont tell me the food you want than I’ll take you to where I like and order it for both of us. You'll likely hate it. Come this way.~ Cobborn wasn't going to stand there on the street longer than he had to if a friend was nearby. There was no point, outside of just looking like an idiot while waiting.
There was no hesitation in grabbing one of Yugos hands before starting to walk in a certain direction. Where should they go in town? Somewhere he liked that wasn't filled with trees or books. He eventually stopped in a cafe that he knew typically had doctors, herbalists, and the sort go to relax a bit. Most of the people inside were familiar faces, though not ones he ever had conversations with. It was the kind that happened over living in the same area and going to the same sort of locations from time to time. It was almost strange walking in and heading towards the counter. There was a brief pause, looking at the man at the other side of counter. How many times did he used to order the same thing here? Wanting to just sit, read, snack, and sip. ~Has there ever been a day the smoke didn't threaten to enter my gaze?~ He signed this to himself before continuing towards the counter. Of course this meant the grip on Yugo had vanished, as one cannot speak with their hands and grab someone at the same time. “Two ginger licorice teas with honey, two grilled fish sandwiches with sides of fresh fruit.” The payment came from him before the person could even finish speaking the total. Of course the man said it would be a few minutes. He let out a sight breath before walking over to one of the empty tables, sitting at one with two seats.
~Maybe I shouldn't have come here. I should probably report them instead of trying to talk to them, just wanted to give them a chance to explain to me why. Sorry Yugo, why don't you tell me what you've been up to. Sit down. The licorice part of the tea is brewed in advance, but the ginger needs to be fresh. It won take too long, but it wont be instant either. It's not too late to change your part of the order though.~ Of course the fish had already been cut and was being grilled, the water for the tea quickly heating to the temperature best for the ginger. Cobborn could feel a bit of his confidence fade a bit. It always did when it came to them, didn't it? Even with nothing to loose anymore, they still pull him down to a degree. Something about it just hurt in a wy he couldn't really understand. Maybe it was just his own deep fear of violence, how it would feel like he would be causing violence against someone else. Fear wasn't rational, especially the ones deeply rooted in tangled soil.

[attr="class","polarPOSTIT"] Yugos face would show some degree of… he wasn’t even sure what emotion it was himself. It was quickly hidden however when he quickly snapped out of it as he heard that laughter from the only person who had ever been what he could consider something like a friend. It hurt him to read the spoken signs of his hands and to hear him laugh as if the act of covering the pain would make what he just said any lighter on himself or on others who understood what he meant. Had he really been kicked out of his family for being a Magic Knight? He blood in yugos veins began to boil. How could a family disown their own for aspiring to protect the country they lived in? Was that not the purpose of the strong? To protect those in this world? Was that not the right path for any child with a strong and rare magic like Carbon matter to take? Even Yugo with his glass magic and frail body had only ever wanted to be a Magic Knight. He had only ever wanted to be of use to the country he lived in and to protect those who could not protect themselves. [break][break] Before he even had a chance to respond, Joseph had grabbed his hand, and started to take him to somewhere they could eat. Yugo didn’t resist. He was still lsot for words on what to say, to have been so blind as to the other members of the Magic Knights that he didn’t even know Joseph hated his own hometown…He would not forgive himself for not being observant enough. He would make sure to rectify it. He followed behind Joseph and absorbed the sights around him. He refused to ever be so blind again. As they made their way into the cafe, he would hear the strange order and chuckle to himself while thinking of the comment Joseph jsut made about the smoke being in his eyes. What had he meant by that when no one in the bar was smoking? It was only after Joseph made his order and then paid so quickly that Yugo finally found the strength needed to say what he had to say, but he was too slow once more, as he heard Joseph try to placate what he had started off his sentance with by talking about the tea. [break][break] He spoke to the bartender, to hold that order till he told him to resume. The man was shocked, but obeyed as he was in full Magic Knight gear. He then turned to Joseph and with a face that spoke of a rage hidden deep down he could barely contain it behind that faint smile. A single vein on his head pulsed so ahrd that it looked ready to burst. He was so glad he did not need to speak and that he could sign. It was hard to lose control of your volume with sign language. [break][break] ~”Don’t you dare hide this…What did they do that you would even think to report them my friend? What have they done that you would rather be living in the woods then return to your family home? Don’t try to hide it anymore. Being so close to you as we walked… I could smell just how fresh the woods were on you. And you’ve been missing from the Magic Knights for a little while now, you would have had plenty of time to make it here… so either you’ve been roughing it for that time due to lack of funds…. or your too afraid to return home. If it was a lack of funds you would have most liekly accepted my offer of food on my expense…I will drink tea with you. But only after I know my friend is safe and sound. And do not mistake me, you ARE my friend, no matter how little I may know of you, you are the first person I have truely felt a friendship with since I joined the Knights. If there is something haunting you, you need not face it alone. I am here now, You are not alone.”~

Rage. This was possibly something he should have considered Yugo might feel, but that was only really realized until after the fact. Also, it seemed they had made their own assumptions about how he was currently living and its quality. Josephs hands moved fluidly and with more calm energy than he actually had in his body. ~I've smelled like the wilderness before ever joining the magic knights. Living in the wilderness isn't too difficult and its quite relaxing. I've been perfectly safe for a long time. There is no immediate threat or danger. You can pick something else to eat or drink, but I wont say what they did until my tea is at hand.~ There was no reason to deny friendship. The silver eagle certainly seemed more than a little naive, but they always seemed to mean well and want to do things for the better good. The orange haired individual looked towards the pale haired man that certainly seemed to have eyes looking for something, not just in silently spoken words. There was a way to talk about it without talking about his uncle and auntie, right? At the least, what they did. They would have to at least be mentioned. Would they be okay with hearing this? Information he had been told would hurt a nobles pride if they knew.
Yugo was his friend. If you don't trust a friend pleading for something, then who can you? ~My fathers family all have sound as their magic type. Gold tier isn't rare, but expected. They only merry people with sound magic. There are secrets in sound magic and music that my fathers family passed down for an unknown amount of generations. There are rules always taught to the younger generations so that they will continue the family’s work. They are a commoner family with a common last name. My mother was Yaling Shengxiao before marrying, changing it to Janine Cobborn. The public knew her as Burning Sunset, her stage name as an operatic singer. Her deep crimson hair was dark enough to almost look black. Those who have heard her music once still speak about it like either the most or one of the most magical experiences in their life. Those locks shimmered in the light like mine, the golden shimmer causing it to look like a long ever liquid burning dusk ready to be swallowed by the night. Her eyes where a deep blood red that seemed to capture anyone she set them on. There were so many recordings of her voice that were created with pendant shaped magical devices, so I'm sure there are many who have heard her sing without realizing she is dead. She had a rare disease that causes your life to slowly sap away the more that you use your voice.~
There was an innate selfishness to someone like her. Even without knowing the entire thing, it was hard to imagine the idea of singing to your death as romantic when thinking realistically. ~She sung every hour that she was awake, even while pregnant with me, like she might suffocate without a tune.~ Reality has a way of kicking some romantic ideals down. ~The pregnancy and child were supposed to be kept out of the eyes of the public until it was confirmed that they didn't have the same sickness. Weak, deaf, mute, with pale pink eyes. Hair was dark, but not the right color, not as dark as it should be. Too much light on the hair, the shimmer might have been twice as his mothers. Do you understand that there is no legal or moral way to fix two certain issues I was born with? I only remembered much of this recently, it came after accepting that it's okay to think of her as selfish and hate her.~ A quiet sigh escaped his lips. He wanted that tea.
[As Joseph signed to him in a calm and refined way, Yugo had a moment of clarity where he realized he had over reacted. The anger on his face slowly faded, leaving Yugo with a slight Blush from embarrassment. He had overstepped himself and now felt a measurable ammount of shame as he apologized to Joseph for his rudeness in sign language, saying he was fine with the tea. He took his seat quietly and did not make another sound until his friend had finished his story, and what a tale it was. Yugo was shocked as he heard details he would never had thought would be in this story of his friend, and that some even tied directly to his own familial past. How long had he been listening to the voice of Josephs mother, recorded on the magical pendents Yugos mother had given him. He wondered how many hours he had spent listening to her voice as he lay bed ridden from his own magic. [break][break] He sat there quietly, as he listneed to Josephs story before speaking up finally. ~”Your mother… was a guiding light for me. From the day I was born to the day I turned 15 I was bed bound because of my own magic… I spent hours every day listening to her music. Some of my best memories ith my family were filled with your mothers songs…I….cannot help but feel this was meant to happen. Perhaps it is a twist of fate, or a true chance meeting. But I as your friend cannot let you handle this alone. Let us finish our tea once it arrives, and once we are in a more private setting you may tell me if you like.”~ he chuckled ~”You know, it was her songs I first started collecting. They are all safe in my collection room at home.”~ [break][break] The tea would finally arrive, the hot liquid was fragrant even from a distance, and he blushed softly as he looked at it and lifted it to his nose. It wasn’t that bad smell wise, but it was oddly tickling his noise. It had to have been the licorice root. He wasn’t a huge fan of the root, but he was also not going to turn away from a tea his friend wanted him to try. He blew on the tea, and took a sip finding the flavor good, but slightly burny on the tongue from the abundence of the licarice root.

Sometimes it was difficult to be reminded of her fame. There were moments were it felt that her presence was inescapable, despite her death. It was like an inescapable force that could only be banished away by the slow grind of time. However long that was, it certainly wasn't anytime soon. For a moment it seemed that at least among fellow magic knights her name wouldn't come up. Was escaping her truly impossible? He saw the woman hat practically worked against his very existence happening, acting selfish down to the very end. Yugo obviously saw the shimmering star than many others had, with a beauty that no painting could ever capture. ~Her stage name was based on her hair. She was as beautiful as she was talented and selfish. I don't think she ever cared that she was killing herself, or that she nearly killed me before I was even born. Her hair sparkled with reds and golds on a dark blanket like a sunset burning quickly towards its end. Even her deep red eyes seemed to burn, perhaps it was why she had a fire elemental oddity.~ It shouldn't hurt that so many loved her, or that the songs showed more love than any of her actions towards the only life she had ever created. Remembering her more was starting to get the young man to wonder why she ever had children at all.
He quietly stood up and rushed towards the counter as soon as the sandwiches were ready. Both plates had one sandwich and one small container that held a number of seasonal fruit. A flat bread, spicy brown mustard, white cabbage, thin slices of gold ball turnip with their sweet mildly almond flavor, arugula sprouts, sliced kosher pickles, and pan fried fish are what made up each sandwich. This was Hapshass, meaning the fish was more than likely fresh from the waters before making it to the cafe to get cut and cooked. It didn't take long to get back to the table, giving one of the plates over to Yugo. This smelled nice, the bread was even warm. ~It would be nice to know how her voice sounds, no matter how much she hurt me, or how close she brought me to death. By having a child at all it puts the unborn at risk of having the same illness. By making me born weak, it made me more likely to be born with it and harder to tell if I had it. Its so rare that few signs are easy to read, being born weak is one of those key indicators.~ The messes she left behind wasn't something he was sure could even be exaggerated at this point. His need for something of mental comfort brought their pale peachy pink eyes back towards the tea. Long fingers wrapped around the cup a bit more than was appropriate, but the longing to have it had made for desperate hands.
The liquorish root and ginger were both spicy in different ways, the honeys sweetness cutting through that a bit. If he hadn't had the same drink so many times for so long than the flavor would have more than likely been overwhelming for someone who could rarely detect flavor of any kind. It was instead a surprise and comfort. Maybe it was nice company that brought flavor? Even if Yugo was so often naive, like right now. He still listened and meant well, as well as seemed to understand the love and want to being a magic knight. “..I can taste for now.. that's... nice. The taste is nice.” The words were spoken audibly, for signing would require the release of the liquid comfort. Than again, if he drank it too fast than what would quench him through the food? It was with some effort that the cup was released. ~Will I be able to taste that with company as well? Usually nothing has any flavor...~ He signed these words before the hand reached near the food. It was so tempting, the craving of food that was typically absent no matter how hungry came at the realization that flavor could be present for him. Maybe the mind wouldn't block it right now. Just a few bites would be fine, wouldn't it? The want to taste food had been present so often, but easily dismissed as a wisp of a hope.
Biting into the sandwich had met their mouth with an abundance of flavors and textures that gained its moisture from the mustard and some fat that had been rendered from the tender fish meat. There was a slight crunch from the pickle and turnip and a fresh peppery taste from the arugula sprouts. It all went well with the flat bread and fresh, sweet, and delicate fish meat. If he wasn't eating the sandwich, the young man was sipping the tea. It didn't take too long for both to quickly vanish, no mater how politely he tried to eat or drink. ~Maybe there's a reason some people find eating enjoyable.~ Almost everyone enjoyed it, but it was hard for Joseph to imagine that. Even now, such an assumption would feel strange at best. ~Sorry, I said I would explain after tea, didn't I?~ There was no going against his word, even if that would mean trampling on the bright mood he was in right now. ~Just tell me when you're ready for some darker information. We can wait and go somewhere else if you want to, whatever makes you feel more comfortable.~ The terrible things so far hadn't earned warnings, but this did? It was a sign of just how dark his life had been up to this point. He needed to give warnings. It was very unlikely to be appropriate to say in somewhere like a cafe.
Yugo watched as his new friend thought to himself, before explaining in sign language about his mother. He had always wondered why she had stopped making music. The young Silver eagle had figured she retired. But no… She had died of an illness hastened by her magic it seemed. Even in his attempt to help others he could not escape the truth that his own magic had almost killed him several times in his life. He wondered if she had fought like him, trying to extend her life as much as possible though… based on what Joseph had said, it was not the case. How selfish, thought the voice that was Yugos Conciousness. Another thought crossed Yugos mind… was HE just as selfish as she was? Would that cause Joseph to grow to hate him? [break][break] Joseph quickly got up before Yugo could sign his response, or even formulate a response as he watched his friend eagerly grab the food. The action made Yugo smile softly again. A genuinely happy smile that spoke of the growing trust between him and Joseph. But deep down, the shadow of self doubt only grew to match the new brightness of yugos mood. He could only bring himself to mimic Joseph as he addembled the sandwich, watching and mimicking the motions to make it as best he could. He set down the finished sandwich before speaking, a small mustard strip on his thumb as he signed before wiping it away with a napkin.~”If it would mean so much to you, then I will take you to my home, I have… quite a few songs of hers. I am sorry, if it seems I am a fan of the woman who did not care for you. And yes, You will have another to eat with at this meal, and all others if you will have me. [break][break] Yugo… could only taste a little bit. Food to him wasn’t something to be looked forward too, the complexities of Noble life had ruined food for many, so many rules, so many standards that must be kept. However it wasn’t what had ruined food for Yugo. The day his parents left this world… was the day when food and Music no longer moved him. He had not heard the songs of Josephs mother in years. He had not enjoyed the taste of food after the last of his mothers cooking was gone. He had all but forgotten what it meant to enjoy life, and not to be constantly trying to just get a little closer to the standards of the lower ranking knights. He had for all intents and purposes, died the day his parents had. He had stopped living for those small moments that make one human due to the sadness he felt.It had washed over him like a savage wave of despair each time he had to walk through the empty house that he and his family once called home. Yet now, as he sat in this strange place, in a town he had never been to with a man he called friend… The food was so strongly flavored that Yugos smile was only broken by the stream of tears that ran down his face. He didn’t even realize he was crying as he thanked the gods above for letting him meet this also-broken man. Someone who, while not entirely the same, knew what it meant to be alone. He had to set the sandiwch down as he tried to excuse away the tears, but the idiotic smile on his face proved that he was having a moment of emotional exposure. After taking a moment to calm himself and dry his tears he shook his head at Joseph. [break]break] ~”We can discuss the details later. Let us enjoy this meal...”~ he stopped and paused before looking at joseph with eyes full of emotion. ~”Thank you Joseph…Thank you for reminding me that food can taste good again…. and that im not alone. After my parents died… I havnt listneed to a single one of her songs, or enjoyed the taste of food until now.”~ he smiled ~”This food… is very strong tasting.”~

Josephs raising had been quite different as someone raised as a commoner. Eating rules were as basic as being polite, as there was no reason to make a show of yourself. This made the rules for eating pretty simple to remember and act on. It was a life of trying to be nice and show what you can do without worrying about offending your fellow man. For a common born person it was fairly normal to not be showy of normal every day tasks, as everyone had to exist together. People typically got into the same line of work as their parents, or became someones apprentice. Apprenticeship could be quite brutal though, so doing the same line of work as your parents was preferred. While some joined the magic knights or the church, this was not the norm. The food consumed by the everyday man was either for medical reasons, or just making best of what little you have. The amount of flavor Josephs food had was coincidental since he ordered it for health related reasons. He was healthy with a voice going nowhere, but there was a fear of loosing that voice that coincided with the fear that it wasn't 'his' voice, that there was no true voice for him. Nobles and their ways had rarely been on the mind for most of his life, outside how to avoid them or not upset or offend them. This made life a lot different in joining the magic knights.
There were no avoiding nobles as a magic knight. Everyone wore the uniform in one way or another, making it hard to tell who or if anyone was nobility. Treating nobility like normal people became easy during the brief time learning under Naxel Blake, a sweet and naive man that had believed in him quite a bit. Even when that person was gone, he just couldn't go back to treating all nobles like people who couldn't handle the idea of a commoner being better in some way. This was just one of the many changes and pieces of growth that had happened since then. Even at the cost of facing deamons again and loosing someone he respected, even in quitting azure deer, he wouldn't change any of it even if they somehow got the opportunity. Cobborn couldn't imagine Yugo as anything but innocent and naive to some extent. They seemed a bit better from when the first met, but still inexperienced. When they met, the pale haired silver eagle didn't even seem to know how to enter a bar right. Wearing your magic knight mantel while trying to gather information in certain places? Definitely minus a hundred points in investigative skills as it came to prying data from people. The orange peachy haired person let out a bit of a sigh, waving one hand a bit to signify that it was fine. Why would he be bothered that someone was a fan of a famous person?
Even if he hated hearing about her on the streets from random people, hearing about her wasn't anything new. She had been an exceptional shining starlight to the lives of many. Talking about her in a controlled environment where he was the one to bring them up first was a lot less jarring or bothersome. It was almost fine this way. ~She was the shining star in many lives, at least it helped you. If anyone knew that she was ever pregnant, or how close she came to murdering her own unborn, it's doubtful that her legacy would be so spotless. I don't want anyone to hate her, I just want to feel allowed to dislike her.~ It was strange, trying to explain this. So many people loved her that it almost felt like his negative feelings weren't permitted. She was the 'spotless' light burning like a sunset blazing into the distance. Maybe this was why all her mistakes had been covered up so well. Despite looking so much like her even with her unique features, nobody ever guessed on their own that he was related to her. It was as if there was a mindset that kept people from seeing anything past her burning light and into the darkness that was consuming her life force. ~I would love to visit your home and listen to her music. That would mean more than the reckless stupidity I came in this city to do.~
Now he had a clearer head on the situation. Talking about things really did make it easier to see your mistakes. He was going to make a very big one, right? ~My uncle could easily take both of us down without even breaking a sweat, relying on the idea that he wont get violent or resist would be stupid and reckless.~ With the sandwich devoured and much of the tea gone, he had started eating the fruit in his meal. Each one had a different flavor and texture, but they were all different varying levels of sweet. This was a very nice atmosphere, making even being in this town bearable. Seeing the tears from Yugo was unexpected, but the words gave a better explanation for the strange smile. This person had been lonely. Had he himself ever felt that way? It was an emotion he couldn't understand that well, or perhaps had convinced himself that they couldn't? ~Having friends means you aren't alone, its okay to cry and smile. If you don't learn how to have fun, then you will have a harder time doing your best at training and working. You should spend some of your time with friends if that helps you learn how to enjoy life again.~
The food was proving to be amazing. For the first time in a while, Yugo felt the urge to devour his entire plate of food, sides and all. He scarfed down the sandwich with a ferocity that spoke to a hunger long left unsatisfied.he marveled at each layer of flavor, that somehow despite being so uniquely strong and distinct, melded into a perfect harmoney with every chewing bite he took. The spicy brown mustard left a tingly sensation on his tongue that paired well with the rather bland yet deliciously chewy flat bread it was served on. The pale white cabbage and the Golden Ball Turnip was crunchy and wonderfully balancing with the spicy mustard. Yugo was lost in a world of Flavor and shortly after scoffing down the entire sandwich like a starving commoner instead of the Noble he was raised to be, He quickly devoured the bowl of fruit and the cup of tea. He was full, not painfully, but rather satisfyingly. He had not eaten that much in a long time in one sitting. He sat there for a second, and exhaled the mixed breath he now had. He felt amazing, and for the first time in a long time had no issue with his hunger, though there was a slight discomfert from the amount of food. [break][break] Yugo listened as his friend spoke of his mothers legacy being ruined if anyone knew the truth of his existance. Not only would it cast a black stain upon her own legacy…But it would effect her birth family as well, which was not something Yugo thought Joseph should have to deal with. Noble houses were often known to take out their detractors without reason, yet casting a dark shadowy mark upon a family name with the knowledge of her uncaring nature would definantly paint a target on Josephs back. However when he started to speak of listening to his mothers music, Yugo would nod and smile, telling him in sign language that he would make plans to arrange for them to be able to do that. But as he began to speak of his uncle and the family he listened as closely as he could to take in every detail. He agreed with him, It was reckless to assume his uncle would not resist. It was likely that they would need a few stronger Knights to help. [break][break] Yugo Blushed as Joseph spoke about not being alone. He had been alone for so very long. Not just after his parents died, he had never had any real friends, Not that he didn’t mind the presence of the servants he had enjoyed, But there was something missing he had always felt and had regretted not being able to do. But after joining the knights and finding a friendship with people like joseph he began to learn that life was full of much more then he had previously known. Yugo smiled and as he was about to speak, the door to the pub opened, and it grew quiet as the other patrons knew who it was immediately.

A smile spread from their lips before the former azure deer signed some words. ~It looks like you're relaxing a bit more. I'm glad you enjoyed my choice of food. It's not noble stuff here, but I think you'd enjoy the other stuff they serve here too.~ The awareness that family was going to enter at any time had already left him due to how much he had started to relax around Yugo. Of course Joseph would have had to leave town for his original plan to stop, but entire thing had been briefly forgotten about. Everything hadn't been remembered until a tall twenty seven year old man had walked into the cafe. It wasn't a regular, nor the type that even had an interest in medicine. George Cobborn had long braided black hair and deep brown eyes, dressed in a cream colored button up dress up shirt with copper buttons. The man had on dark brown slacks, a plain leather belt, and plain dark shoes. He looked every much a musician as Joseph, only a bit taller and bulky in build. It wasn’t exactly hard to look thicker than the peachy orange haired person though. Despite being close relatives, the only way they really resembled each other was in dress and hairstyle. This only meant that they both resembled musicians, so this wasn't exactly something unique all on its own.
Joseph had a few cousins from his fathers side of the family. The ones he knew best being from the aunt and uncle that had raised him for a portion of his life. None of those cousins treated him much like they had lived together closely for a long time, likely from how upset they had been at him. They always looked for reasons to avoid the peachy colored person far before the man had been disowned. There had always been a resentment due to how much time aunt and uncle had spent trying to to help him in learning to speak. Those two had even learned sign language. There had been a time the younger Cobborn had thought that was so wonderful of them, but knowing more made him unsure of the reasoning behind it. Everything connected, like threads that had been woven together to craft something. Joseph wanted to avoid conflict at this point, doing this was getting increasingly impossible. “I don't plan to cause any troubles, just let me have a few minutes before leaving town.” The younger man didn't exactly want to flee from the table just to avoid a conflict that was walking ever closer.. Judging my the even more aggressive posture that appeared after the attempted voice of reason it seemed the pink eyed person only made things worse.
“Why did you come here in the first place mute?” The words cut a bit harshly, but they weren't exactly meant to be friendly either. The man finished walking over, leaning himself between the two empty plates, seemingly ignoring Yugo completely. If the white haired silver eagle hadn't been noticed though, then the cousin wouldn't have gone out of his way to try to block the two off from each other using his upper torso. “I don't want any trouble caused for the good people of this cafe, nor the medical professionals that come here. I've had good conversations with some in the past.” Joseph responded quietly, trying his best to try to keep things civil. There are some places fights shouldn't be started, this wasn't one of them. The cousin looked outright insulted, moving his arm and upper body from the table completely. It was as if George had been given a verbal punch to the face. Of course they both knew that it was a family of pacifists. The younger one had spoke it to remind them of the family’s vow of nonviolence, while the elder was angry that someone who had a weapon on them and had joined the magic knights would dare speak of the family oath. “I'm the one between the two of us that actually kept our families vow of pacifism. That's quite a weapon on you mister magic knight. You of all people should know the terrible things violence causes.”
It seemed each word used by George was being used to cut as deeply as possible. This had be be on purpose. Part of him felt a bit more hurt than the words typically had on him. Maybe it was the more recent memories, ones that made it harder to think nicely of his mother, aunt, and uncle. People he had been raised thinking were wonderful and caring people. “There's a strong chance that your parents and my mother were the only reasons that happened in the first place.” Joseph got out of the chair, his stomach churning a bit. He couldn't deal with any of this right now, let alone in public. ~I can't do this in public, I can't verbalize anymore. Sorry Yugo, can you help me calm down? He never learned to sign.~ The young man was now looking towards help for once. The magic knights did teach him to ask for help when he needed it. There was a feeling of guilt, but at the moment he needed something and the cousin didn't seem to want to let up on the words. Brown eyes were full of rage, the elder Cobborn looking more upset and insulted than ever. Neither had left any food or drink, so at least the angry musician wouldn’t' use any of that. “Maybe your father should have finished you off after those years of torture, now you're just another blood thirsty magic knight.”
So he used the worst sort of words that could be uttered. Everyone in the cafe grew quiet at a level that it hadn't been before. Earlier it had been a calm and mostly quiet atmosphere. Now? Everyone was staring, but it wasn't the two 'magic knights' that were getting judged. Even without context it was obviously something that should never be uttered, let alone in public. In a spot that Joseph went to relax and the other only went to because they knew the ex azure deer was there.
[attr="class","polarPOSTIT"] Yugo hadnt taken notice of the new person who had entered, not at first that was. He was too busy finishing off the fruit and tea he had left. The young Silver Eagle was beynd happy to even be there, and as such he had taken it upon himself to finish his plate and stand up to gather the plates and bring them to the bar instead of having someone take them. He made sure Joseph didn’t want to keep any plates and as he gathered them he made his way to the bar, passing by the man after excusing himself to Joseph. As he set the plates on the counter though, he began to read the bartenders face, and realized his mistake. The look of the man at the bar told him the man who had jsut passed him was someone who should be seen with an air of caution, either because they were dangerous, or because the people they knew were. With the context clues Joseph had given him, he had no issue to understand who that person knew. [break][break] He began to move toward him, but the bartender grabbed his hand and stopped him. As if giving him a warning not to cause trouble. But Yugo did not let him hold him there. He pulled away and made his way toward the two. He made his way there and listened the entire way, as the man wasn’t quiet with his speaking voice, Yugo could hear it all without issue. Yugo walked ina different stride, as if he was no longer in public, but was on a battle field. His steps were quiet, almost silent and lithe like a dancers. He got behind the young man and as Joseph and him finished their exhange about pacifism, Yugo placed his hand on the mans back, the placement made it sow as the folded crossbow unfolded outward like a wooden insects wings, it would be aimed right at the base of the mans neck. Yugo also placed his hand over his grimoire as it floated next to him, a clear message to any who would interfer. [break][break] ”I had hoped… To gain information like that from Joseph in private, where he had not need to worry about ‘people’ like you. But its clear as day now that I cant sit back anymore. Not when you publicly admit to Joseph being Tortured by his own family. The Device you heard open is a folding Cross bow capable of Shooting a solid glass ball at 25 meters per second. At range, It may not deal much damage unless I hit a vital organ, however…at this range and location it will render you paralized for the rest of your miserable short life. Even with all the doctors here, I will make sure you die a painful and breathless death as you lay there unable to move, speak, breath or anything else. I could kill you and be done with it if I so needed to, since I am one of those so called Violent Magic Knights you call Joseph. But I don’t think anyone in this bar… will even care if you die.” as if to make the point even more clear, everyone who was looking turned away, and went about acting as if nothing was happening. They had all heard the mans words, they all had felt the unease of words best left unspoke. [break][break] ”As of now, Under the law governing the Kingdom of Clover, you are under arrest for aiding in the deception of justice, and for not reporting a major crime against a citizen of the kingdom. You will not resist, because at this range… you wont even have time to use a spell before I break your neck with my crossbow ball.” if the man had a Grimoire on him, He would pull it away and using his own grimoir holder he would place it under magical lock and key as was standard practice. “Be grateful I am not corrupt, or I wouldnt even bother taking scum like you who allow their family to be abused and tortured in alive. How dare you call the knights Violent, while sitting and doing nothing as your own flesh and blood is tortured for doing nothing wrong but wanting to defend his own land. A shame on your clan, a Shame on your bloodline. Joseph… have the bartender call for the magical Knights in the nearest town, it should only be a quick flight over with broom. I will not let this scum walk the streets for even a second longer.” The look in Yugos eyes was different, the nieve boy was gone….and a man with purpose stood before him, his eyes sparkling with the Light of Justice in them.

A realization started to cross his mind as he watched his cousin get treated and spoken to like a criminal. None of the medical professionals looked even slightly interested in standing up for George. Joseph would have arrested people for doing less than half of the things his family had done. Why did he let it go so long? Why did he treat it like it was fine just because it was only him? The realization was that none of this was alright, it was never alright. The majority of his family were criminals that knew what they were doing was wrong. “...Trying to distance me from the family after I joined the magic knights, trying to force me to never join, there's were all just... underhanded threats so I would never do it, wasn't it? So I would never get any of you arrested.” Before this he had never considered his cousins involved in any way, but Yugos words had certainly been a wake up call. Even if they didn't know the whole story, they still participated, they still knew ungodly things happened but didn't report it. They were never threatened like he was. It was always just assumed by his family that the cousins would always be pacifistic. None of them had ever been 'damaged'. ~Was that a way to get me to look internally too? They said it so much that I think part of me actually believed it. That's... I would have recognized the tactics anywhere else, so why did I never consider them?~
It was strange to realize just how many things had been said or done to try to make sure he would never speak up. It was almost like it would be better for them if he could never speak again, if they hadn't wanted him to get into operatic singing so badly. All of those times they tried to help, was it really out of care? The more the orange peachy haired man thought about it, the worse it felt. “No, we didn't do nothing. He was taken from his dad as soon as we found out.” George spoke up, but they certainly didn't sound as confident as before. Maybe it was the weapon aimed at him in such a close range? Very likely. “...Father was well known in the family to have a weak mental wellness due to having sound and shadow. He described it as a multitude of voices tormenting him every moment of every day. Are you trying to claim that it made sense to not check in for years after his wife died?” If he didn't do anything now, then when would he? This voice that he had to fight for so long to use would be wasted if they let the lies spread when he was right here. Things were different, he wasn't a child anymore. Yugo was right to arrest them. He wasn't sure how real any of this felt, despite it happening right this very second. “The Coral Peacocks base is in the city, I'll use a communication spell to make a formal report to there.”
A formal report was something he knew how to do very well after his time in the azure deers. This was different than any of the previous ones though. It was on his family. Part of him still didn't want to do it, despite all the evidence falling more and more into place. ~None of this would be happening if I hadn't started to remember things.~ It was strange to think about, all of it was. All of them were really guilty, weren't they? Everyone but the child. This was horrifying, but he could never consider himself a magic knight if they didn't do this. One step at a time, right? First step, they didn't need the bartender to call anyone. ~We're taking him to the Coral Peacock base, these medical professionals and the cafe owner have had enough excitement today.~ Joseph signed this before walking outside of the cafe. It was important to keep calm and think of the task at hand. Let the normal civilians have their peace and they take the trouble where it can be taken care of. Pale peachy pink eyes looked around a bit once reaching outside before signing 'breath mark'. Black bits of firm, coal started to appear, quickly forming together to create a vehicle. The young man stepped on the boat, thinking of what to do next while Yugo was coming with the prisoner. He should make a report, or start one, right?
So he signed out 'transmission', causing that spell to be cast. A small cymbal made of carbon matter appeared on one of his ears, Yugos, and the person he assumed was at this time in the coral peacock base to take and receive communications. Things didn't change too much over time, he hoped. Both communications had been accepted, so that was a good sign. So, he started to mentally speak into the communication spell. 'This is Joseph Cobborn with Yugo of the Silver Eagles, we are coming with a senior ranked prisoner. The crimes of George Cobborn, as well as the crimes of his siblings committing misprision of felony, as well as taking steps to ensure the victim would not comprehend the situation well enough to report the crimes. I don't know if I remember everything done to me yet, but it included his parents finding a murderous doctor with people under him and giving Yaling Shengxiao a way to contact the person. She paid them to do illegal activities to their child that included the murder of a member of the crimson lions. This crime happened almost twenty years ago so I am unsure if who that member was could be traced. I don't know or remember if others died during the event. Her husband was stopped from reporting the crime when he found out by his family and wife threatening his child if he did so.
The family then left a man that they knew was ranked archmage and had a naturally weak mental state alone with the victim in question after Yaling Shenxiao died, who had been his wife. As they all knew would happen, his mind slipped, causing him to mentally, physically, and emotionally torture my person for years, including the use of archmage ranked illusion magic. I was around eight or nine when removed from the situation, ay ability to speak or make sound had been removed through torture and fear, only regaining it after many years of therapy and vocal work. Each member tried to prevent me from remembering anything, or even thinking of going to a magic knight. They used threats to try to dissuade me from joining the magic knights because they never wanted me to make a report like this.' This was... a report that made it a bit hard to focus. He was feeling a bit dazed and light headed, a bit numb from all of this. Still, the spell took off into flight towards the headquarters once Yugo was ready with the prisoner, landing on arrival of their destination.

This vehicle can carry 4 people at a time thanks to the pack mule perk. If an oncoming attack spell of the same rank as the construct, than an attack of 5 or more attack points than the constructs durability would damage the construct and bring the spell down one rank, causing it to get destroyed after two attacks of the same caliber. If the attack is 10+ more attack than the constructs durability, the construct is then destroyed in one hit. If an oncoming attack spell that is one rank lower then the construct, then an attack with 5 or more points than the constructs durability would damage the construct and bring the spell down one rank, causing it to get destroyed after two attacks of the same caliber. Yugo held the man named George by the shirt, it was obvxious the man had bought into his scheme. The weapon would porbbaly deal no more damage then a standard D rank even at this range. However, the attack would definantly leave the man seriously stunned from the location of injury. And in that time both parties new that Yugo would stab him with the sword to make sure he could not get away from Justice. As Joseph spoke and eventually asked them to leave the bar, the two men would be forced to walk closely in step. This however, would be the worst mistake Yugo could make. Given this was his first time doing this, and that his opponetn was naturally stronger then him even without the full spell power of his Grimoire. His inexperiance showed through in a heartbeat for anyone desprate enough to try to break free of his capture attempt. Yugo was easily tripped up as the man jerked and ran hard from yugo to break the grip he had on him. Had yugo had to deal with this before he had begun to properly understand his magic, he would have easily suffered a major injury, if not broken bones. But thankfully, with the new grasp of control his magic had. [break][break] Yugo was barely able to regain his footing and cursed loudly before running after him. The yiung magic Knight yelled out to Joseph to keep going, while at the same time signing to his new friend the words “Bring to Justice.”. he rushed after the man cursing himself for being such a fool. He had let his anger get him to action, but he had not fully thougt everything through. He should have just helped Joseph leave quietly, and reassesed the situation himself in Private before taking action. He had once again allowed his mental prowess to be outsped by the actions of his heart and body, a issue he resolved himself to fix as soon as possible. He felt a tingle rush over his body, but in his inexperience he didn’t recognize it was a spell being used on him. He turned the corner george had gone down, only to get hit with a wooden board as he tried to turn the corner. The impact rocked his head sidewise and threw him into the wall as he bounced of from the impact. George threw the plank, hitting Yugo on the back and winding him severly, as he tried to go for the grimoire Yugo had taken from him. [break][break] Yugo recognized the mans goal, and despite having jsut been thrown into a wall he pushed himself off the wall and rolled away before standing up, a distance between the two kept Yugo safe for the moment. He watched as the man who had just hit him and he laughed. “Looks like even the pacifist found a reason to hurt someone. Figuring you tried to get your grimoire back over running, means your actually afraid of being punished. Your Guilty mindset reveals your true nature as nothing more then a coward.” Yugo stood up fully and allowed his mana to push out and wash over the man, who despite the difference in physical powers and magic, The Desire to carry out Justice that flowed from Yugo made it very clear that he wasn’t playing any more games, and that unless the man surrended, yugo would punish him himself. The next words from his mouth would cement his fate, though it was unknown to himself at the time what that single sentence would lead too. “I, Yugo Blake, Shall bring your entire family to Justice. Cooperate and you will live to rebuild your legacy as something worth fighting for.” [break][break] Unknown to Yugo, the man he was fighting was a Former Magic knight who had long retired from the coral peacocks as he was under the effect of a spell from George. Meanwhile, Josephs spell had made it to the base, and a reply message was sent to him to inform him that a group of Magic Knights was being sent to assist. It was clear from the distance he was at, that Yugo had completely been fooled by George, who was still running while Yugo was stopped confronting someone.

This wasn't how Joseph imagined the day would go at all. Certainty had never been on the plate, but there had been some expectations of some kind. It almost like fate looked at his 'plans' ans laughed quietly to itself. He was going to talk to the family, until speaking to Yugo and realizing what a horrible idea that was. He got too caught up being somewhere comfortable and familiar with people he was comfortable around and a man he had started falling for a bit. It was nice to see them happy and eat everything up and just enjoy everything. Why hadn't Yugo put cuffs on George while the opening had still been good? Why did things come down to this? Well in any case there was nothing he could really do at the moment besides wait and hope. If his cousin used an illusion and Joseph walked into it, the dawn haired man wouldn't be able to dis-spell the illusion. He would essentially be in the way of anyone that comes to help Yugo recapture Gregory. ~Why didn't he handcuff the man? If he gets back home, there will be an entirely bigger mess. Even if he doesn't get back there will still be a mess, but at least we would have more time before my aunt and uncle find out that I've remembered enough to report crimes.~ He didn't remember enough to know if it was all the crimes.
The man wasn't fully sure they wanted to remember all of it anymore. It sort of flipped everything he thought he knew to some extent. He hadn't been there to ear Yugos declaration, though a member of the Coral Peacocks had been. The member dispelled the illusion, tripped the escaped prisoner, then proceeded to handcuff them. The backup looked the type to be either have had not enough sleep, or coffee to deal with any messes too big. “Why didn't you cuff the prisoner Mr Blake?” A confused looking towns person put down a plank of wood, seeming to have also been caught in the illusion that was now gone. The coral peacock members tone was akin to that of a tired school teacher. They started dragging the prisoner along before unceremoniously tossing them to the pale silver eagle member. “I'm going back to my patrol route, I'm not a babysitter...” The man muttered before waving a bit and starting to walk off. He showed no sign of wanting to help further, only wanting to get his own work done. “and whatever you did to get the quiet kid to report his family, thanks.” With that the man was out of the alley and out of sight. Would they run into more chaos before getting to finish their patrol route? That would not be something either Yugo or Joseph would get to find out.
They may not have been the one reported to, but they seemed to have been told enough information from someone at their headquarters to have some idea of things. George Cobborn was not only in cuffs but was also tossed around. “My parents did what they had to for our family’s legacy, as have I. You're a Blake? My family isn't nobility, but it has order. His father was the head of the family, sound and shadow. Our head must know the most about sound and pass it on to the next generation, but he refused to teach anyone besides his son that wasn't even his by blood. He even wanted his son to Join the magic knights. He turned against the family, they both had to learn. If he hurt what he cared about most, then he would never turn on the family again. If he always worried about what he cared for most, he would never betray again. Joseph shouldn't have become a magic knight, he couldn't even remember that his father wanted that. He has amazing talents in music, hes being put to waste. Our family works in music and music only. He thanked us for putting him straight and fixing him by joining the magic knights.” The man may have never been violent, but it seemed his family was very good at allowing violence to happen, or using words to get it to happen.
People say the right words can move mountains. How well would a family that focuses on sounds and words be at getting that to happen without a single punch? The tone, like the prisoner still couldn't fathom why Josephs father loved and treasured their child so much. Why should they still be counted like your precious own when the blond wasn't by blood? Then again, Josephs blood mother wanted a child without having to put the effort of thinking about the childs well being. Could his blood mother be counted as loving? His blood father, did they ever find out they were a father? Considering the information so far, there was a strong chance that person had been dead for many years at this point. How useful or loving is a dead person to a living one? In the meantime, Joseph wasn't able to go to the base yet as planned. He wouldn't go until Yugo and the 'prisoner' were back. The pink eyed person did move it a bit further from the cafe, getting a little closer towards the entrance of the alley he had seen the two rush through.
