Jordan was now empowered by his magic ready to face the beast before his other two teammates would show up. Kusa would stop the beast using one of his restraint spells, which would leave Jordan and Treyni to deal with attacking the beast. In truth Jordan had grown very angry at the thought of Kenji being injured trying to save him. Even now that their relationship was not one of master and servant, the dwarves male still looked to protect his friend regardless of the cost. This was something Jordan understood and the feeling of this would cause him to think purely out of anger at this point.

Treyni would try to formulate a plan for the remaining three knights to use as a means of attack, however Jordan would listen but like his friend not completely follow through. “I won’t be like Kenji and run off but I’m damn sure gonna be the one to take this thing! You too hang back and wait for me to make an opening.” So using his speed Jordan would charge at the beast with his full speed. Once within melee range Jordan would land a punch right on the creatures face. The beast growled out in anger, before it would attempt to swing at the youth.

Fortunately for Jordan he was quick enough to avoid the creature’s attack, landing another blow as a means of counter attack. Jordan was hoping to wear down the creature’s stamina and endurance, which would leave it open to being attacked by Treyni for the finishing blow when the time was right. However a turn of events would begin to unfold as the battle raged on. While everyone was busy in the battle nobody would notice that Kenji was waking up.

The dwarves swordsman was knocked out earlier but it seemed that given the right amount of time he would begin to awaken. Laying on the ground his body would twitch or move ever so slightly, every so often. The male would find the energy to lift his head up and look at what was going on around him. He would see his teammates taking on the creature who knocked him out, as he watched he would think to himself *I have to get up… I have…. To protect….. Jordan.* he tried his best to reach for his sword which had been separated from his body and laid on the ground in front of him.

After a few tries of reaching for his weapon with no success, Kenji would then have a flashback of when he left the House Alexius research lab and he told Jordan’s mother he was leaving to travel with the young boy. The day was very important to Kenji as that was the day he truly realized that regardless of age, background, or anything else he truly cared about the young noble boy. Having the flashback and remembering his purpose would allow Kenji to get the strength needed to push forward.

“I won’t die yet… I won’t stay sitting on the ground!” He would say with his voice starting low and then turning into a yell of sorts. The dwarf managed to reclaim his sword from off the ground before slowly making his way to his feet. Meanwhile Jordan was still playing hit and run with the creature trying to create an opening for it. As he did this he would notice that Kenji made his way back to his feet, with his weapon in hand ready to continue the battle. Jordan would smile upon seeing his friend off the ground and would hit the mana beast one more time trying to secure its attention.

Once the attention of the beast was fully on Jordan, he would run towards Kenji knowing the beast would follow. As Jordan and the mana beast ran towards Kenji he would draw his blade, dropping the sheathe on the ground. His grimoire would glow a light blue aura before water gathered on the edge of his sword. He would place both hands on the hilt of his sword before raising the blade high in the air, like he was about to bring it crashing down in a vertical strike. “This blade is filled with my want to protect those dear to me! First Form: Water Surface Slash!” And with the swipe of the sword an arc of water would jet forward heading towards the mana beast running at him.

Jordan would know the attack was coming as it was a plan of his own design, so knowing this would move out the way at just the right time as to not be hit. The mana beast however was not able to dodge and would instead take the attack in full force. The arc of water would cut the beast up a little bit, however between that and the damage already done the large creature would cry out before it would retreat.

In order to activate the spell the user must swing the sword with both hands. The arc of water created from the slash is 2 meters long, and 1 meter wide. If without a weapon the user can coat the edge of their arm as a substitute.

Wood for Transport

Kusa accepted the flowery map from Treyni, knowing his words to have wisdom in them. It only made sense that the Black Bull offer additional support, after all, he'd had no means of attacking his foes. All he could do was assist his temporary team in fulfilling this mission. With the map in his dominant hand Kusas gaze switched between the construct and his bound foe with bundles of grass intertwining up the beasts legs to slow its movements. In addition to lowering the animals speed it also sapped them of their natural mana pool, supplementing its caster. He maintained the spell as Jordan initiated the Owlbear, empowering his body with his solar magic and getting up close and personal, exchanging blows with his own fists. Simultaneously the Azure Bull used some form of transformation magic to envelop his hands in claw like creations of flower and flora. Although the clawed weapons looked like a gimmick or an accessory to costume, Kusa held no doubt they were capable of inflicting decent damage.

His eyes briefly scanned the map once again, ensuring no other unseen foes were approaching them. With all the commotion unfolding around them he had little doubts their encounter would draw in unwanted attention. He'd hoped it was nothing worse than what they were already facing. In an attempt to further assist his allies and diminish the beasts aggression, Kusa swiped his hand in front of him. This activated his Grimoire, causing it to switch through its parchment pages. A large ball of knotted grass snaked around each other and floated momentarily from his book before suddenly, yet quietly, exploding. The force caused broken blades of grass to rush out at a circumference of twenty meters, enveloping his allies and the manabeast rampaging before them. However, due to his control he was able to diminish the illusions effects from both Treyni and Jordan which would take the form of an auditory disruption. The illusion namely affected ones sense of sound, barraging them with audio akin to rushing wind swooping through an open field or meadow with crashing vegetation filling the ears. Kusa was able to weave the spell so it did not affect the two standing Knights and the manabeast found itself distracted from the barrage of sound along with Jordan and Treynis attacks.

Kusa didn't plan on Jordan being up for the duration of the fight, although he did glance occasionally over to check on his status when he could. Because he had not weaved the spell around Kenji, the dwarf may have been susceptible to the auditory illusion, the Elf cursing himself for his oversight. This would be twice now Kenji was caught in his spell unintentionally. But the distraction didn't seem to bother him as he pushed through with an attack that'd ultimately distract the beast for another few blows to land. Kusa was now maintaining two spells at once while keeping his sights expanded throughout the battlefield, ensuring the scenario unfolded in their favor. With their combined efforts and coordinated attacks the beast was seemingly overwhelmed, fleeing from the scene to lick its wounds. Once it feel outside his area of mana influence his spells would disappate and Kusa would deactivate his Grimoire.

He breathed a sigh of relief as he looked over to Jordan and Kenji, shaking his head "That was reckless" he'd walk past them both and towards the tree in which they'd decided to fell for wood. Once the other two followed Kusa would approach the mana imbued tree and place a hand on its trunk, his eyes closing to feel the flow of energy coursing through its system. Internally he'd give his thanks to the wooden tower, gently nodding his head against its course bark. Finally he turned around to meet the gaze of his companions, his emerald eyes darting from one to the other "Lets get to work. We don't need to fell the entire tree. It would be wood going to waste and with only three of us we can only carry so much. The lower stems and branches should suffice. And don't worry about collecting the larger branches on the ground. They are most likely dead, the mana long seeped from its sap." Kusa opened his satchel, pulling three small hand axes and gently tossing them to the other members of his group. Kusa turned around and began harvesting what he thought he could comfortably carry, ensuring not to permanently damage the tree or its root system. It was a respect he'd learnt from his Master and Mentor. How he missed her. One day he'd have to return to her small slice of paradise, hidden amongst the forest and deep within the trees. It had been a year or two now since they'd seen each other and often he'd wondered how she fared. If not for her tutorship or counsel he'd not be wearing the black robes of his Order. He owed her more than she knew.

Description: The Grimoire points towards the target and unleashes a concentration of intertwining bundles of grass from the appropriate page. This tendril of grass is capable of tracking its prey and once it connects it wraps around the targets individual legs, the rooting itself into the ground below producing a thicket to suddenly sprout around their feet. The long grown grass is dense, making it slightly difficult to move. The binding is capable of draining mana from its prisoner and directly supplement the casting mage . Other copies of this spell are capable of being fired simultaneously towards multiple targets, however it will drop by one per addition. The thicket of grass is able to crawl up the targets legs and extend towards their grimoire also, binding and entangling it to reduce their spell cap by half.

Description: Kusas grimoire tilts horizontally so that the pages pages face upwards with a light green aura surrounding its frame. Mana condenses towards the center of the books spine, encasing a thick bundle of materialized grass (no larger than a balled fist). When the mana compacts enough it suddenly expands, shredding the bundle outwards and sending blades of floating grass towards the maximum AOE range. Those caught in the spell are sensually affected and caught in the illusion. This illusion only effects ones sense of hearing, and the sensation they experience is comparable to a loud wind roaring down a thick meadow. The violent rubbing of grass and vegetation rings in their ears and drowns out all incoming feedback. The person caught in the in the illusion must have the following sensory skill to disperse:
-15 Sensory [+2 is added for every 10 points of Control user has] [-2 for every post this spell is sustained]
If the targeted mage uses a sensory spell to see through this illusion they will reduce the requirement by 2 for every 10 points of Sensory they have.

As he said his plan to the two of them, Jordan’s words somehow comforted Treyni. His desire to cooperate with the team and to have himself create an opening on the mana beast was enough for blonde to be confident in their mission. Glowing in orange aura as if he was the sun like himself, Jordan moved at incredible speeds towards the Owlbear mana beast aiming to strike it with his hand. The mana beast retaliated in anger, hoping to hit the speedster. Treyni saw the opening and he immediately swung the claws on his dominant hand aimed towards the back of the mana beast. The magic knight felt how those sharp claws managed to scrape against the thick skin of the mana beast, opening a wound on its back with a stream of blood flowing out of it. It growled in pain but still focused on attacking Jordan. The Owlbear tried its best but it seems that Jordan was simply too fast for it to land a hit.

Treyni on the back side of the mana beast, stretched his claws again prepared to make his strike. “This time for sure, we will be able to knock it down.” He muttered in his breath and dashed forward. He could feel the wind hitting his body, caressing his clothes as he progressively picked up his speed running. However, his peripheral vision caught sight of Kenji waking up and running towards the mana beast with the weapon on his hand. A small smile crept on Treyni’s face as he knew that the two of them would be enough to take down the mana beast. The elf made a semi-circular direction going towards Kusa’s side. He felt the mana on his hand slowly rushing out of his appendage as he halted the spell. The lilacs that once clung on to his hands, fell off like a cherry blossom tree would during the festival. Kusa managed to sneak in his sensory spell aimed towards the mana beast. Although he may not be affected by the spell due to Kusa deliberately excluding them, just how Treyni would use his illusion spells, he could see that the mana beast had a hard time. The fight slowly turned out to be more disadvantageous on the side of the first aggressor.

“Both of them make up a good team.” He whispered as his gaze was fixated on the two. His eyes followed each movement they made, how Kenji swung his sword that seemed to be coated in water towards the mana beast with Jordan distracting the Owlbear, plus Kusa’s spell making it harder for the mana beast to focus on the fight. Everything was too much to handle resulting in the best fleeing from the fight to wherever it went. The Owlbear only had the upper hand when it did a surprise attack however once the magic knights recovered the mana beast became nothing like a target practice. If only the mana beast had called on its comrades or anything that would aid in his battle, it would have been more catastrophic. The forest was wide with almost any mana beast making it home due to the offspring season.

With the fight being over and the adrenaline that most of them felt during that time, disappeared, next would be the part where they have to get some wood for the broommaker. “I’ll be taking the map now, thank you Kusa.” Treyni spoke in a polite manner. The flowery map flew from Kusa’s hand towards the blonde’s. Judging from the map, the mana beast that had attacked them before, were nowhere to be seen. Most of the creatures were located where they were before. They were also near the tree that had a strong mana signature, as it was seen on Treyni’s map. Aside from that, the elf could also feel the dense mana signature nearby. He wouldn’t be an Azure Deer magic knight if his senses were not as sharp. Moving forward, the boy would return back to his usual state, the desperation, joy and determination that his face held before, disappeared back into his usual nonchalant demeanor.

Following Kusa with the map on his dominant hand, the dense mana signature magnified as they got close to the tree. When Kusa stopped and motioned to the tree, Treyni was surprised as to how the tree looked somewhat similar to the other trees inside the forest. Had it not been for his mana sensing capabilities and his map, it would have been a much more difficult situation for the group. The Black Bulls advised them not to take down the whole tree as only take out its part that was necessary for the broommaker. He added that picking up the fallen logs were useless as the mana that they once held, dissipated out from them long ago. “Okay.” Treyni spoke and got to work. Kusa being the responsible person, in Treyni’s eyes, provided them with the hand axe. Growing up from a family where he has to at least work for himself, he knew how to at least use them. Crouching down and picking up one of the hand axes, he began chopping down. He was careful not to cut deep as it may discourage the tree from growing and only chopped off the appropriate size and amount.

Once they gathered enough logs for the broommaker, Treyni looked at his team. Determining that they had collected enough and that they were ready to head out, the elf used his dominant hand to carry the logs. The flower map on his other hand, floating innocently. “We should be going straight into this path.” Treyni broke the silence with his instructions of the direction. Although he felt that Kenji, with his usual attitude, might not listen to Treyni but he felt that he needed to at least let them be aware. With them coming out of the forest just fine, they head down towards the broommaker. The old lady was happy to see them fine with enough materials on their hands. She quickly accepted them and got to work. After he had accepted his reward and everything else, he dusted off himself as he stood. “I’ll be going out first. It was a pleasure to work with you all.” After that, Treyni pivoted and headed towards the door and head off to who knows where.

They will be represented in the map accordingly, a literal treasure chest for treasures, a bear trap for hidden traps, a humanoid figure for a person, and more follows. Moreover, it will show mana signatures through an accurate representation of a flower, the more petals the flower has, the stronger the mana signature is, for example, 1 for Junior, 2 for Intermediate, 3 for Senior, 4 for Grand, and 5 for Archmage. However, it will not show any creatures be it a human or not, that hides their mana signature via any method that they use.

These lilacs then transform Treyni's hand into that of a tiger with violet-white stripes complete with a set of claws. This lilac contains strengthening magic that boosts Treyni's strength by 1/2 Junior. Following the activation of the spell, Treyni will be given a grace period of 1 post to sustain it without expending mana.

Thanks to the teamwork between Kusa, Jordan, Kenji, and Treyni the team was able to defeat the mana beast and they were free to now collect the wood they needed for the broom maker. Jordan was relieved to see that everyone including Kenji managed to make it through the situation without too much wear or tear. After the battle had concluded and a few words were exchanged the group would begin to work on cutting down enough wood to take back to the broom maker. After the wood was gathered the group would leave the forest making their way back to the old lady to get their pay for the job. Upon the group bringing back the wood, Echo and Kenji would stay a bit longer than everyone else as the woman would give them a crash run on how to make brooms. After that the duo would leave making their way back home.
