There were instances where Kusa had time to himself, away from the responsibilities of the Magical Knights of Clover. Generally he spent his 'free time' with other members of his squad, no doubt at the tavern regaling over stories of times past. This time however he found himself detached from the Black Bulls and amidst the citizens of the Kingdom, more specifically in Kikka. He'd been to the district more than once as the shops and stalls scattered across its landscape offered a variety of wares. Some peddled spices and nuts while others laid out the fruits of their skillful labor, usually in the form of armaments and trinkets. Needless to say these stone paved markets offered almost anything a consumer desired. On this occasion Kusa chose not to don his regalia opting to leave the attire of his Squad at the barracks. Instead he wore a plain hooded shirt with long sleeves, shading his skin from the days heat but allowing his skin to breath.
The elf wandered deeper into the bazaar, weaving through the moving crowds towards a block of shops and upstairs quarters. Sandwiched between two buildings was a small two storied shop with a curtained off workshop in the back. As Kusa entered the structure he'd noticed the various tools hanging along the back wall, commonly used when shaping and cutting wood. Alongside the tools were a few pieces of rough sawn timber, no doubt the preparation before the final craft. The owner was a good woman, seemingly wise beyond her years and a heart for kindness for those in need. At one such time Kusa was one of those people, and in a moment of hardship he'd been offered a warm bed and a hot meal. A story from long ago...
Every now and then Kusa turns up to the shop to check in on the old craftsman, usually to make sure she had enough materials to work with. As an aged woman she was unable to harvest the wood for her trade and magical wood was an expensive commodity to purchase when the craftsman had limited funds. This ended up benefiting both parties. One saved Yul while the other repaid an unpayable debt. His soft voice spoke out, though with a tone that could be clearly heard "Sorry I'm late. I see you still haven't cleaned the place since last time." after a moment a short burly dwarf hobbled from behind the wooden counter with a figure considered fragile for her kind. Although she was a sweet dwarven woman age had not been so gentle to her. A lifetime of hard labor and craftsmanship had whittled her body away piece by piece until ultimately what was left was a shadow of its former self. Still, her love for the trade consumed her and she would no doubt craft until she died. Her dark eyes trailed up to the elf, half squinting as she adjusted her poor vision "You're lucky I'm so short and old. I've pulverized things three times your size" she smiled before motioning toward the table and chairs. Although she was merely in jest, Kusa wholeheartedly believed she had that capacity, at least once upon a time.
Once they sat down Kusas gaze shifted to the stores entrance. He was expecting company.

The ever so carefree clouds rolled about, birds chirping in the background, it was a great day for a calm patrol for the magic knight. A man sat on the chair as he was getting ready to head out. Dainty fingers clasped on the shoelace as he made a ribbon, making sure that it was tied enough. He stood from the seat and headed down from his room towards the first floor. From his start at becoming a magic knight until today, he still followed the routine. He met with his fellow Azure Deer knights along the way. He greeted them each, in a serious tone. Arriving at his destination, the knight would move for the door. Before he could even clasp the doorknob, a voice sounded behind him. "Anyone available to take on a request from a citizen?" It made the knight stop for a moment and he considered the request.
Time to change the plans. If it was helping the citizens from anything that worries them, Treyni will have no problem. Ever since he became a magic knight, it has always engraved in his mind to ensure the ease of living for the citizens. The knights had the proper authority to do so, and Treyni will deliver it. Turning around on his heels, he locked eyes with the man who spoke. The man would be met with cold eyes that make anyone think as if Treyni was staring into their soul. "Y-yes Treyni? Are you up for it?" An awkward tone was clearly heard in his voice. He was truly bothered by how Treyni was looking at him, but the blonde did not about this unusual characteristic of him. "Yes. I'll be the one to take it. Where is it from?" He spoke briefly, having no emotions whatsoever in his words. "I believe it is in Kikka. It's a shop owner of brooms. So you won't have any worries about locating her." From what he said, Treyni assumed that it would be a woman. "Okay." He spoke blandly and nodded at his fellow Azure Deer and moved out from the squad base.
The door of the Azure Deer base would open and Treyni walked forward. The gentle breeze welcomed him and caressed his blonde locks. Today, Treyni wore his usual outfit when goes out to work, a militaristic outfit that fully covers his body with clothe, a white glove and the Azure Deer magic robe would sit comfortably on his shoulders. It was a short walk from the squad base towards the central portion of the town, Nairn. Icy blue eyes darted each corner of the location, looking for a coach to ride. Walking towards Kikka would be not so favorable for the male, as it had some quite of a distance from Nairn. Also, he would need his energy to be able to fully function well during the request. Upon, finding the coach that he was looking for, he began the expedition towards Kikka.
It was a long ride to say the least but the sun has not come down yet. In fact, it looked like it was still up in the sky, gracing down on the people that walked the earth. The coach would stop at a spot and Treyni gracefully gave the fare to the man. He proceed with his walk along the pavements of Kikka. 'So this is the town of Kikka.' He thought and observed the surrounding. Just as what most people would say, the huge wall would be very prominent feature of the town. It was designed to nestle in the royal palace and will force anyone who wanted to enter to pass through the gate first. However, that does not matter for the blonde right now. He need to look for the broom maker in Kikka and what better option would that be than asking the it directly from the people around.
Certainly, the broom maker was famous in the area. Her shop had many customers due to the great quality her brooms were. Unfortunately though, many people said that she had become quite older but many still defended that her craftsmanship were still the best. 'Finding the shop was not really that hard.' He thought and moved directly towards shop. Although the mixture of salivating smell of the food stands was strong, it did not distract the magic knight from his task. Treyni had a strong resolve. The boy took a turn and he was now facing the shop. He stood by the entrance to it and pushed the doors open. He entered the premise without delay.
His eyes scanned the room and found countless of brooms hanging on the shelves of the shop. Each having their own designs and he felt a mixture of mana signatures from each. They were definitely imbued with magic. He saw a boy with a green hair on one of those chairs but he had feeling that he was not the shopkeeper. "Excuse me." He spoke to none in particular, raising his voice a bit to at least catch some attention of the shopkeeper around. "I'm looking for the shopkeeper who made the request to Azure Deer. I'm here to tend to them." He continued and stated his reason promptly, while his eyes still continued on looking around searching for a sign of the shopkeeper somewhere.

Post by Jordan Alexius Stark on Apr 19, 2021 13:05:40 GMT -5
The sun was bright and the day was coming to a full throttle start. It had been a few months but Jordan had now gotten the funds to buy everything he needed to make a small scale lab in his bedroom at the Silver Eagles squad base. The lab and its equipment basically took up the whole room so Kenji and Jordan had to remove all the furniture and sleep on floor mats. The two weren’t bothered by this much, especially Jordan who seemed far to excited about his new lab to be mad about sleeping on the floor. The two were hard at work with Kenji crafting some sort of tube shaped device, while Jordan sat at a corner desk drawing blueprints for something. Whatever it was the blueprints seemingly matched what Kenji was making.
“Young master the hilt of the A.M.S. sword is finished. However master I do not understand why you would have me make this metal tube and then leave hollow space in it. The sword won’t have proper balance when you put a blade on if the hilt is hollow.” Kenji would say, and being a master swordsman he knew for a fact such a thing would hinder the person using the weapon. Jordan would scoff before saying “It won’t remain hollow forever, we just need to find a conduit. You know something to change your mana into a battery pack of sorts for the sword. My mom told me about a different minerals that handle magic energy well so we should probably try to find one of those.”
Just as he would finish talking a piece of paper would make its way under the door to the room. The paper was a note giving Jordan his next mission orders. The job was for him to take the place of a fellow knight who got food poisoning, and help a broom maker in the town of Kikka. Jordan looked at the word Kick and simply got a ill feeling. *Why do they keep sending me here? I thought I wouldn’t have to see this place anymore for a while…* Jordan thought to himself as memories of his last trip flooded his mind. The bruise he had gotten on his hip had started to feel pain from the thoughts.
Jordan would then look to Kenji and say “Well guess we should pack.” And so Jordan would do just that as Kenji would do the same, however he always packed very light and only needed the clothes on his back and his blade sharpened. Once the two were ready they would head out making their way back to the busy market town yet again.
The duo arrived in Kikka and since they had just been here recently they knew exactly where the shop was, and with great haste would make their way there. The two would walk in and seemingly they were the last to arrive to a party of sorts as when Jordan and Kenji arrived there were already 3 people here but they were only expecting one. Jordan’s eyes scanned the room as he would see a old woman, a magic knight with a face filled with nothingness, and a familiar green haired face. Upon entering Kenji wouldn’t think much about who was there currently as he simply bowed as a sign of respect to all in the room.
“Hello my name is Kenji Bushida, and this is my young master Jordan Stark. We are here to fulfill a request submitted to the magic knights by a citizen in need.” After bowing Kenji would finally open his eyes and see that one of the people already here was no other than Kusa, the Black Bulls magic knight they had met the last time they were here. Kenji’s eyes narrowed before he would simply left off a grin and wave at the green haired man. Jordan who was a little ‘shocked’ by Kenji’s amazing and polite introduction set his attention to the old lady but spoke to basically everyone there.
“Hello yes my name is Jordan Stark. We were sent here to help but maybe I was mistaken? I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a low priority mission have this many knights. Also hello there Kusa nice to see you again.” The young boy said with a smile and a wave before finally turning his attention to the unfamiliar faced magic knight. The man bore the crest of the Azure Deer, a very quiet squad indeed of course such a thing fit seeing as they were all normally spies and scouts. “Aye us blondes gotta stick together, so how about you tell us your name pal?” Directing his speech directly at the other blonde haired man.
No sooner had the couple settled for refreshment that another person entered the modest wooden clad shop. Their features were soft and beautiful with blonde locks framing sky blue eyes. They had addressed themselves as a member of the Magic Knights and judging from their attire they'd belonged to the Azure Deers, a Squad of extremely talented mages who excelled in various aspects of mana craft. As he addressed Kusa, inquiring about the shop keepers whereabouts and his response to a summons, the Black Knight nodded in the old ladies general direction. Her compact frame made it hard for most to see her behind the high bench tops framing the building. She hopped of her chair confusingly then shuffled towards the new entrant. Her voice was coarse yet soft, as if she was hard and staunch in her youth yet age had mellowed her out, humbling her with lifes inevitable conclusion. "Dear me. I'd thought that idiot had only sent a single application to the branch office..." No sooner had she spoken two more walked through her door with one of them donning another Magic Knights robe, albeit a different squad.
Jordan was right. Despite the fact they were only lower ranked within the Order, three members of the Knighthood for a simple collection job was overkill. Clearly something had gone wrong. The old lady rubbed her forehead, applying pressure with her index and middle finger as she massaged the building stress from her brow "That idiot...." clearly she had unraveled the conundrum. She proceeded to explain that her 'assistant', or rather a boy who ran errands for her for yul or food, had sent out multiple applications for the same job request. Clearly these 3 had responded in due form, and together. She shook her head an apologized for any inconveniences caused by this mishap. Kusa raised his hand to halt her apology "There's no need. Mistakes are bound to happen, and it looks as if this may be a blessing in disguise. The forest is temperamental this time of year. Spring generally falls around the time where multiple creatures breed and new parents tend to get defensive around their newborns and the breach of territory. What could potentially take me a day can be reduced to a few hours." he looked at the blonde haired boy and Jordan, a Knight he'd had the pleasure of working with previously. After acknowledging them both with a polite nod he'd continue his address "Why risk the potential of danger when we could travel together and reduce the risk. Plus. More hands means more capacity to bring back more materials. Would save the owner applying for another sanctioned mission in the future. You in?"
Before either of them could answer the question the shop owner spoke up, hoping to sweeten the deal "Tell you what. You bring me enough magic wood and I'll throw in a couple of brooms for your trouble, and the earlier inconvenience. They'd be better than anything they make in the Capital, thats for sure. Those craftsman couldn't tell the difference between a chisel and a claw hammer if it hit them in the face."

When Treyni announced his presence within the establishment, it would seem though that the shopkeeper did not clearly hear his words well. He never got a response from her. Thankfully, the green-haired man who sat by the chairs nodded towards a direction behind the benchtops. "Thank you." The blonde spoke in response with his words brief and lack of emotions. He then made a little bow as he moved forward towards the direction. As he was on his way, he would be met with the smaller figure. Crinkled skin yet firmer movements and the general appearance was a giveaway that she was a shopkeeper, or at least that's what Treyni could come up with. She mumbled, which the knight did not get to hear. Though, it did not matter. He stopped from going forward, allowing for the older woman to close in the gap with him.
"Huh?" The man spoke out of pure surprise to her reaction. From her words alone, he could come up with what really happened with the shopkeeper. It almost as if there was a slight miscommunication or something along the line, it was a no-brainer guess however Treyni could not be too sure. 'A little disappointing, to think I've come all the way.' Treyni thought, however his expression never reflected what he felt. Without notice, the door of the shop opened and came in two people with one wearing a magic robe that held the symbol of the Silver Eagle squad. 'Don't tell me, he's here for the request too?' He guessed and turns out he was right. While the two newcomer introduced themselves, Treyni was already moving towards to the side and kept his silence. He was observing them, learning about their names and their relationship altogether. His train of thoughts were disturbed when Jordan spoke to him, asking for his name. "Treyni." He replied promptly, with his cold eyes staring back at the similar blue-colored orbs of the other blonde. Although he did not really mean to shot such icy stares at Jordan, it was simply the natural look on his eyes.
Breaking off the eye contact with Jordan, Treyni's gaze would then befell on the old woman. He would have pressed on to the old woman, demanding for at least an explanation for such inconvenience. However, the stressed look that built up on her face was enough to shut the magic knight. He wouldn't want to put the old shopkeeper in any more stress than this. She then proceeded to explain about the cause of the problem and how it came to be. He simply nodded at that. Treyni was about to leave the store, mentally forgiving the shopkeeper for the trouble. However, the green-haired man whom Jordan may refer to as, "Kusa" spoke up. He was optimistic, for sure, and his words were reasonable enough to convince the blonde about staying and actually completing the request. "Sure, I'm in." He responded to the offer and nodded towards Kusa. Treyni then looked at the two who just came in, waiting for them to respond to the offer. As though Kusa's explanation wasn't enough, the shopkeeper also added that she will be making brooms, free of charge. It sounded too much given for the situation they were in, but it would be better to earn a broom for himself. He never had one to began with and it would be a better mode of transportation than relying on the availability of coaches around. He simply nodded in response to the old woman and small smile crept on his face before turning into a thin line.
Kusa offering them again. Treyni that he already gave his answer to the offer and a sigh escaped his lips. "My decision still stands." He spoke briefly and watched the man's reaction to his response. "Let's try not to step on each other's toe while there." He spoke in an authoritative tone and waited for the duo's answer to the offer.

After Jordan and Kenji walked in the situation without a doubt got confusing, but the problem was quickly figured out and a solution was quickly made. Clearly the woman had someone put in her request for help, however the person who put in the request had put it in with multiple squads and that’s how such a low priority mission got an over abundance of knights. The solution to the problem was that if the three of them worked together more work could be done, along with the fact the old woman offered to make them brooms. Jordan had gotten intrigued by the idea, he thought the money they would get for the mission was already enough but this was at least 5 times better.
Kusa was the first to agree by default as he was the one who voiced why the three should work together. The other blonde from the Azure Deer would then agree to continuing on with the mission after hearing Kusa and the old lady. Kenji would then look to the old woman and say “I will help a old dwarves woman always… reminds me of my my grandmother, rest her soul.” Jordan would then look to the old woman and let off a smile, before he would say “I would be happy to help you, however I have a special request to ask of you. In exchange for our help my friend here will trade his free broom, instead I want you to teach me and him how to craft your brooms. I am a scientist and I believe if I know how to make the brooms I can change the design and make it better.”
The old dwarven woman would look at Jordan up and down for a bit before she would speak. “Now even if I agreed to this what do you think a young man your age can do to improve the design of a flying broom? This design has been used my whole life and even longer than that, so I don’t think there will be much you can do.” Jordan would rub his chin as he listened to the lady’s words. She was right in a way changing the design of such an old and well designed piece of equipment but the young boy had faith in himself.
“I have faith and I believe in myself ma’am. I know I will be able to improve on the design, just like I know I will be the best inventor that the country has ever seen one day.” The woman’s face would glow up from the confidence that Jordan would show. “Alright I’ll do it.” She said as the young boy’s face would glow with excitement.
Kusa nodded. It was good that the other two Knights had agreed to his proposal. The Elf was right though. This time of year was riskier in the enchanted forest and numerous beasts were weary of those, both people and animal, entering their territory. It wasn't unheard of that unaware people had wandered too far into the forest and found themselves victims of flesh tearing claws or sharp teeth. Kusa finished his warm beverage provided by the shop keeper and placed the dried clay cup on the bench, wiping the contents of the top of his lip with the back of his hand "Well then. Since we are all in agreement I suppose there's no need to hash out the smaller details" his gaze switched to the light colored robe wearer of the Azure Bulls "I'm Kusa, Junior of the of the Black Bulls." He looked at Jordan and his bodyguard, affirming them with a simple nod. He'd had the pleasure of working with Jordan before and he was pleased with the results of their last mission. He had confidence that with his attendance they'd surely complete the mission with few worries. Paired with Treynis participation, Kusa had few worries.
With a final wave to the shopkeeper, Kusa walked out the stores wooden door and made his way East alongside his newly formed group, albeit temporary. The magic forest in question resided a few miles away from Kikka so the travel was relatively short, but its towering trees could be seen peeking over the horizon. Anyone with a modicum of mana sense would be able to detect the subtle signatures given off by the various magic beasts residing in the cluster of vegetation as well as the areas natural magic atmosphere. It wasn't enough to overwhelm the senses though. There weren't creatures that contained highly dense signatures and typically consisted of smaller animals and game, although there were cases of larger predators migrating from the Northern regions as they area was ripe for breeding. Once they stood outside the Forests perimeter Kusa came to a stop, turning around to meet the gazes of his temporary team. His grimoire levitated from the leather holster on his hip, floating besides him and opening its contents to the spells page with the sound of flipping parchment ringing in theirs ears. From the pages spine a small cluster of seeds rose momentarily before shooting towards the ground with the step of Kusas leading foot. Once forcefully implanted into the soil below an area of thin magical grass began to sprout in a forty meter diameter around them. It would have been almost impossible to see amidst the existing vegetation but those sensitive to mana would be able to 'feel' its presence. A small map materialized from the rising blades of grass which represented his manas area of influence, effectively showing a live map of their surroundings. Small wild flowers and buds sprouted with each one representing the signatures of anything living. His emerald eyes glanced at Jordan and Treyni "I'll keep watch from our rearguard and inform you if anything unusual approaches. You guys see if you can find some trees with enough mana concentration for extraction. Once we've found enough we can start cutting some timber."

After the blonde has agreed to the plan of joining the in the mission, the other two being Jordan and Kenji seems to have accepted as well. Although the other blonde boy would insist on having the old lady teach him and his friend Kenji about making magic brooms and their mechanics behind them. Jordan looked excited though as he spoke about his idea towards the old shopkeeper. Thinking about not wanting to listen anymore to their conversation, Treyni would just sigh and his eyes wandered off to the collection of magic brooms that was displayed in the shop. There were many variations to them, with some having symbols or writings on the shaft of the broom to other ones having different bristles of the transportation medium. It would definitely be convenient if he were to own one.
The green-haired male’s voice would anchor back Treyni’s attention towards the group. With all of them agreeing that they will take part of the mission, it was damn time to get going. The longer that they drag on being inside the shop, the later the day they would get to arrive at the forest. Then the more dangerous mana beast or shady mages they will come across. As for formality sakes, the green-haired male from before introduced himself as Kusa and that he was from the magic knight squad, Black Bulls. Treyni had heard about most of the members of that squad were to be deemed as something bizarre or different, but looking at the boy before him, the blonde thinks that there was nothing different than what he imagined him to be. The elf nodded his head in acknowledgement to his introduction. “Treyni. From Azure Deer.” He spoke as brief as he was. Although he might be redundant when speaking out his magic knight squad given that he has the robe on his shoulders, he felt like it was an automated response whenever he introduced himself.
Most of them waved farewell to the shopkeeper, but Treyni only nodded at her way before they were on the road. Along the path that they treaded on, the blonde could see massive trees in the distance, hinting that they were now close to the location. Along the road, Treyni were mostly quiet, not really intending to engage in conversation with the magic knights but will most likely make a small response whenever being referred to or being questioned. As they got closer to the forest, Treyni could feel diverse mana signatures. Kusa’s information from earlier was true and that he could definitely sense some mana at varying strength and distance. Either way, the magic knight basked in them as they continued towards the entrance of the forest. His immediately took in the scenery of the forest, it had a calming effect to him, which he may concluded why it was a breeding ground for the different mana beasts.
Without notice from the group, Kusa summoned up his grimoire. Treyni’s eyes immediately flashed towards the magic knight as he readied his body for anything that would happen. His magic was almost similar to the Azure Deer’s. Both of them used the magic of nature however the green-haired male was more of the vegetative side while he was on the flower side. The elf watched the spell unfold, with the seeds implanting on the ground and started to grow, then forming a map after. Up to this point, Treyni was in awe at how their magic’s mechanics were similar as well. He had the capability to make maps. He inspected the map of Kusa and was silently disappointed at how smaller it was as compared to his spell. “Smaller maps like that won’t cover much ground.” He criticized the Black Bull’s magic knight as he looked at the map before him. Although his words may sound bland but it his constructive criticism, he never planned on shaming the knight for his effort. A bigger map would entail that they would be able to see more of the environment as well as the creatures along the way. It would certainly help them in this mission.
Not wanting to boast his magic yet still wanting to speed up the progress of the mission, Treyni summoned up his grimoire on to his front. A greenish book with flowers decorating the cover appeared. The grimoire opened and at the similar fashion with Kusa, pages flipped until it stopped on the page that housed the spell. “Flower Magic: Blooming Map.” He spoke as the grimoire glowed along with his words. Treyni, raised his other hand and a budding flower would appear on his appendage. Not moments later, the flower bloomed and instead of the usual pistil, it would reveal an accurate map representation of the magical forest. Some of the parts of the map would be identical to Kusa’s spell but the map would cover more parts of the forest. If any of them would inspect the map, they could see a miniature version of the trees, mana beasts as well as them in the map each in their respective locations. For anything that would have mana signature would have a flower on its head, with the number of petals depending on their ranks.
At the outer part of Treyni’s map, there would be a group of trees that has a flower on its top. It would be different from the usual trees on the forest for it has a strong mana signature on it as it would be represented with the petals. “I think this would be the ones we are looking for however it is farther away from us.” He pointed out towards the part of the map where the trees would be. “However, it would look like we are not alone there.” He warned as he shifted his gaze towards the side of the trees. A mana signature that was represented with a flower that has 1 petal would appear on it. “If Kusa’s information was correct, I believe this would be the mana beast he was talking about earlier. It’s best if we approach it with caution.” His gaze would then back in the forest. “Before we could continue ahead in this adventure, I want us all to at least have some idea of each other’s magic.” He started and looked at each one of them, his icy blue eyes held serious expression. “My magic would be centered around flowers. As some of you may know, it is similar to Kusa’s magic. However, I can also boost my damage through my spell.” His gaze shifted from one person to another as he spoke.

As everyone had now finally all agreed to still take the mission Jordan and Kenji would begin to head out with the other 2 magic knights. Jordan would bid farewell with a wave as they walked off towards their destination, while Kenji would bow to the elderly woman long before they departed. They didn’t have a long walk to get to the forest where the trees were, as after only a few short minutes the duo could begin to see the trees that made the forest on the horizon. Jordan would look to Kenji and whisper into his ear “That Azure Deer guy has a funny feeling about him watch him.” To which Kenji would simply nod as a reply. Jordan knew they were all magic knights so he had no reason to think the male was up to no good, however the vibe he had given off since the very beginning said something else.
The three knights and Kenji would then arrive at the forest entrance and they would begin to scope things out a bit. However that didn’t last long before Kusa would summon forth his grimoire and begin to cast a spell. It was the same spell that Kusa had cast during their last mission however Jordan didn’t get to catch what it was or what exactly it did the last time he saw it. Jordan and Kenji watched as the spell activated and came to life, creating a map of the forest out of grass. Jordan had never seen magic used in such a way and was rather impressed, while the Azure Deer mage was very unimpressed.
The Azure Deer mage, Treyni would say basically that a smaller map wouldn’t cover as much space, but he said it in the same tone of voice that he had been speaking all day. The same uncaring voice, which made his comments come off as a bit rude. However Jordan wouldn’t speak up just yet. Before Jordan could even think to say or do something, the other blonde haired male had pulled out his grimoire and began to cast a spell. When he activated the spell he called out the name, and the male was clearly a user of flower magic. Jordan would now be watching as the spell activated and made a map just like Kusa’s spell had just done, although this map was slightly bigger.
Treyni would then begin to point at a particular set of flowers and say he believed that those flowers represented the trees they needed to gather for the old lady. The blonde would then say how he also believed that area was not clear of life, as he pointed to another flower. From what the group was looking at in front of them Kusa’s information about the mana beast earlier was correct. Now that the group knew Kusa’s information was true they needed to proceed with caution and a plan. Treyni believed it would be beneficial for them to know about each other’s magic.
While knowing about each other’s magic would have been helpful normally, Jordan believed that he seen everything he need to see from the Azure Deer already. He also already knew reasonable estimates of Kusa’s abilities and limitations due to their last time doing a mission together. With that being said Jordan believed him and Kenji to be the only direct combatants in the group. After making this discovery he would simply look at Kenji and then Kenji would look up to catch the ye of Treyni and say “I don’t know who sent you out here and told you you were in charge, Treyni was it? But sitting here talking about the creature is pointless. You and Kusa do your sensory magic stuff, and me and Jordan will punch and stab the thing to hell. How does that sound for a plan?”
Kenji would then study the map for a few moments before he would walk off in the direction of the magic trees and the mana beast. Jordan would then look at the map ounce more himself before he would begin walking behind Kenji who had already started walking pretty fast. As Jordan walked off from the two sensory mages he would turn around for a brief moment and say “You guys better hurry up, he usually walks pretty fast. Once he he gets too far ahead it gets hard to catch up to him.” The boy would then turn around and continue to run after his friend. WC: 751 TWC: 2014
Treyni, the Azure Deer, summoned their magic to create a magic similar to his own mapping spell but superior. Its definition in mana detection and the level signatures were far more attuned than his, providing more clarity to those outside the casters sensory abilities. Kusa destabilized the flow of magic to his own creation causing the blades of grass to lose their form before receding into the dirt they stood on. Kusa should have known. The Azure Deers were renowned for the proficiency in mana detection and the sensor arts. Even their Juniors were more attuned to the delicate flow of magic, even more than many seasoned Knights. Treynis initial investigation outlined the amount of potential threats that rested around the area within his spells area of influence, and also their locations. It was interesting to see how different their spells were despite the similarity in their natures.
After Treynis brief he'd proposed that they were aware of each others strengths and weaknesses. A fair proposal. They were a ragtag team of Knights from different Orders, thrusted into a situation of co operation for the very first time. But before Kusa could speak Kenjis temper seemed to get the best of him, busting out his own thoughts and a straight forward plan. And while the Elf appreciated his direct line of approaching the situation he also didn't approve. The Azure Deer was right. But for a different reason.
""Get back here Kenji. Not everything can be solved with direct violence. Violence, especially lethal, should be a last resort. And you must remember it is US that is intruding upon their territory. No, direct confrontation will not be necessary IF we play our cards right"" Kusas green gaze shifted towards Treyni for a moment "We have a member of the Deer whos sensory abilities can plot us a safe course around these creatures. If worse comes to worse I can bind them and slow their charge and if necessary - " his eyes darted straight for Kenji, his features dead set and unwavering " - and only if necessary....Kenji and Jordan will disable them. Preferably through non lethal means. But I trust you both to assess the situation clearly, and make the judgement at your discretion." He paced towards Treynis flowery construct, bending both his knees and resting his arms on his thighs. He scanned the map, making note on the locations which fluctuated with the moving animals.
"Change of plan. I'll provide support from the middle, Treyni you stay behind and maintain your spell. Keep us informed of movement patterns and anything that looks like its coming close. Jordan and Kusa. I leave our protection in your discretion, provided we have an understanding. These animals are not our aggressors. We've intruded into their homes at a time where their paternal instincts are heightened, and anything foreign is considered a threat to their offspring."

His flower construct that contained the map of the forest and seeing Kusa deliberately withdraw his magic, he knew that the other elf was the reasonable person among them. One must be very logical enough to realize what benefits most people or not and respond to it accordingly. With Kusa’s willingness to cooperate with Treyni, he expected for the remaining two to also do the same. However, his hopes were crushed when the redhead didn't seem to think alike. Instead of the usual cooperation, he blurted his plan of killing the mana beast together with Jordan. It seemed that Kenji does not believe in his abilities, as was very much expected based on their situations with Treyni being the only person who was not acquainted with them.
The blonde felt irritated by Kenji’s forwardness and how he deals with the situation. However still, he hid those emotions behind the mask of uncaring. Treyni knew that if he ever gets his emotions the best of him, this mission would be doomed to fail. While he was annoyed with the lad’s reaction, he managed to keep his emotions at check and stayed for a while. His eyes glued to his map, studying the movements of the creature around them. The mana beast near the tree was still not moving, no abnormal movements as of yet. “That would not be a problem as I can locate him with my map, don’t be too far though we don’t know what lurks deep.” He spoke with his eyes locking at Jordan. He intentionally left the last part somewhat cryptic. He was not sure if there are many mana beasts capable of erasing their mana signatures. It would be best to at least keep the group together to at least fend off anything that will attempt to surprise them.
Treyni heard Kusa’s voice calling back the redhead, which, on his map, showed that he was certainly moving towards the direction of the tree together with Jordan. Dealing with a kind of person who was hotheaded was extremely difficult and he was glad that Kusa took the position of unifying the group. The green-haired laid out all the reasons as to why it was unnecessary for them to attack the mana beast due to it being naturally careful for any intruders in the forest for the sake of protecting the offspring. Treyni remained still as his ears perfectly listened on to the varying sound of voices nearby. Of course, he’d still listen to them and would only talk if he ever needed.
Kusa talked about the new plan being that Treyni will be in the backline keeping track of the movements using his map, the two being at the frontlines attacking or providing general protection of the group while Kusa himself in the middle, providing support. “Sure providing vision for everyone is nothing to me. Although I can’t detect anything that hides their mana signature. So it would be wise to keep a vigilant eye on the surrounding.” While the latter might not have directly spoken about what his magic can do, Treyni was sharp enough to pick up and understand from what he said before and concluded that fellow elf had a binding magic. It was a perfect team composition and he had no problem going through the deeper parts of the forest, however, he worries that their distrustfulness might affect their work.

Even after the other members of their team had vow ed their opinion, the words would go in one of Kenji’s ears just to immediately leave out the other. It wasn’t truly that Kenji meant to be rude or anything of the sorts, however he could tell that the rest of his team(including his close friend) were simply too afraid. Maybe fear wasn’t the right word however it clearly showed that the group was acting based off the fear of one creature. Kenji had no fear for this creature or any other, that was the power of his warrior spirit.
Jordan had informed the other’s to keep up or else they would be left behind as he already knew how Kenji was. The dwarves swordsman would usually never change his mind once it was already made up. The young bloke would catch up to his friend, as he would find himself running about 2 meters behind the male. “Hey Kenji! You gotta slow down man. If we get separated that will make things harder on all of us. Besides you said it yourself, me and you are the only direct combatants. Why would we leave Kusa and Treyni by themselves knowing they could be hurt by anything out here?”
Kenji would stop running for a moment, which would cause Jordan to also stop running behind him. The water mage would slowly turn and walk up and approached Jordan. “You always trynna be the good guy huh kid? Jordan I have watched you grow for slightly over a year and you know one thing that’s still hasn’t changed? Its your lack courage. I understand you never got the real training you needed for these kinds of jobs but when I look into your eyes I see the fear… and one day you will meet a person who will see that fear and take it to full their own power.” Kenji’s words would drag off.
Not long after Kenji had finished speaking Jordan would clinch his fist and grab Kenji by the jacket collar, jacking him up but not holding him straight in the air like some muscle man. He looked at his friend as a single tear fell from his right eye. He looked at Kenji with a face full of anger. “WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!” Jordan would yell out, yelling so loud the other two mages would probably hear it. “So what I’m afraid sometimes, I’m still here facing that fear head on! And even if you don’t care about fear, and you think how me and other knights go about things might be ‘scary’. However our respect must be given as we are given no option about if we can run away from a problem. We must always run to it just like~”
As Jordan was about to close his sentence, the sound of a nearby tree could be heard rattling. After a few moments a giant hand would come flying from out of the tree’s and hit Jordan and Kenji who were still holding onto each other. Jordan would be somewhat saved by his older friend as just before they were hit, Kenji pushed the younger boy out of the main way of harm. The dwarves male would be slung against a tree be knocked out immediately. Jordan would simply fall to the ground, only getting a few cuts, scrapes, and bruises.
Jordan would pick himself up off the ground, and would see the state that Kenji was in. He had no clue what manner of beast had attacked them, however he knew that this fight would not be easy at all without the help of Kenji. Jordan would raise his fist to the sky before his grimoire would suddenly release itself into the air. Once his grimoire was in the air its pages would flip and skip making their way to the page with the proper spell, before the book would begin to glow. Jordan then raised his fist to the air stating “Solar Enhancement Dual Mode: Strength and Speed!”. The young boy would then begin to glow with a bright orange aura around him.
After he would activate his spells the ground around the blonde would begin to shake and quake, as the creature had begun to step forward and show itself. The creature resembled a rather large bear, but with the features of a wolf… so a Wolf Bear? No matter what the creature was he had no intention of letting the beast harm his friend. “Come on you damn animal lets fight then!” The young boy would say as the large beast would let off a roar in his direction. It was hard to convince the foreigner. He obviously had his way of doing things, even if it meant going against the grain. But his lack of control prompted him to leave the security of the group, and instead go off on his own. Jordan soon ran after him, leaving both of their rearguards unprotected. Already the plan had fallen apart due to negligence and an inability to adapt as a team. Kusa glanced towards Treynis mapping spell, its intricate workings and functions showing its superiority to his own ability. None the less, the Elf had to make sure the sudden ruckus hadn't disturbed the wild life, or even worse, attract them to their location. His fear was realized when his emerald eyes spotted something moving on the map. Before he could turn around and run after the pair to warn them the trees behind them violently rustled, causing the aviary life to scatter from the leafy canopies, fleeing their nested homes. Perhaps the two were too engaged in their disagreement, which is why they'd been caught unaware by a large swiping hand. Were it not for Kenjis swift reaction no doubt they'd both be incapacitated.
Kenji was tossed like a rag doll and it was safe to assume he was out of the fight. Kusa maintained his burst of speed, hoping to bridge the gap between the aggressor and the members of his temporary team. Once he was confident he was within rangehe pulled the buckle off his leather holster, mentally commanding his Grimoire to reveal itself and prepare of battle. In response the obsidian colored leather bound book rose from its slumber, opening its contents to the spell which it was commanded to perform. The book opened towards the location of unknown assailant, unleashing a small coiled up ball of grass which connected with the ground, intertwining its roots within the soil and snaking its way towards the concealed aggressor. Strands of grass shot from the ground and wrapped themselves around the individual legs of the creature, digging their root system in deep and wide, binding the beasts movements. But the spell wasn't just limited to restraint. The grass which was tightly bound to its target began to leech mana from its victim, feeding the energy back through its system and to its wielder, Kusa.
The Elf held the attacker, slowly its speed down. He looked back at Treyni, hoping he'd followed just as swiftly. There wasn't a fair evaluation on their skills earlier, but he remembered the Azure Deer contained some sort of attack magic, whether it be through augmentation or an offensive spell. But with a quarter of their man power down they were already at the disadvantage, and the fight could most likely attract other unwanted guests. Jordan imbued his body with solar magic, increasing his capabilities in battle. All Kusa could do was support from the rear, but he'd do all he could to ensure they all got our safely.

Kusa’s well-thought plan from before fell on deaf ears as the red-head did not want to listen to them and instead pushed through the deeper parts of the forest without the guidance of Treyni’s map. An exasperated sigh came out of the blonde’s mouth as his eyes shifted from the duo that went forward then towards his map. For the most part, the life around the forest seems to be at still, no abnormal movements recorded. However, that did not last long. With Kusa and Treyni being far away from Jordan and Kenji due to the latter’s attitude towards them, they suffered a very distasteful fate. While on the way, Treyni spotted a movement from one of the mana beast that habited the forest coming towards Kenji and Jordan. Kusa must have noticed this too when he quickly ran towards the two ahead. Treyni did not fall behind in coming towards them but magic knights were too late.
On the ground, Kenji suffered an attack from the bear with a mixture of an owl mana beast. The large hand that came from an unknown source was enough to knock out the red-head to the ground. A visible shock and fear intertwined the blonde’s expression as his gaze set on the creature before them. This was the direct result of not cooperating to work as a team but Treyni had no choice but to bear with the consequence of his member’s actions. The four of them were forced to work as a team in order to fulfill a task from the aged broommaker, many would think that a team consisting of three magic knights plus a somewhat skilled citizen was enough to complete the mission, but given the circumstances of the forest in this time of season, it would be for naught.
Jordan was quick to respond to the dire problem they were in. He hastily drew out his grimoire and casted spell that surrounded him with a bright orange aura. His spell looked like a strengthening spell which Treyni has at his disposal. Kusa also followed it up with his binding spell, grass locked the owlbear mana beast in place, restricting its leg movement. However, his hand would be free to attack or at least, defend. With the knowledge in hand, he felt as though he needed to communicate well with his team or otherwise, their bad situation would just escalate to a worse outcome. Gulping down on the saliva, the elf would speak, “Kusa’s magic has successfully hindered the mana beast from moving, but I’m afraid his arms are free to be able to attack or defend itself. Let’s try to attack it in the front and back together, that way, it will have a hard time defending against us.” While he may have sounded nonchalant before, this time his voice was filled with determination and command. “But if you have a better idea, tell me, please.” His fear of Jordan rejecting his strategy just like what Kenji did before made the knight to blurt out those words. If they were to inspect Treyni’s face, they would see desperation laid across his expression, breaking the expressionless mask.
Sensory and transformation magic was at his disposal with the latter having the ability to strengthen his physical output. Kusa was the one with the binding magic which ultimately tells the elf that he would be much in the lower ladder when it comes to damaging the mana beast. With that in mind, Treyni walked towards the Black Bulls with a determined look on his face. “Kusa, I hope you’re okay with this but I will entrust my map to you. I just think that I will be having a hard time attacking while observing the map at the same time. As they say, you can’t serve two masters at the same time.” He spoke with a mixture of polite yet commanding tone while putting his map forward. If Kusa were to accept what he proposed, then the flower map would fly out from Treyni’s hands towards the green-haired’s dominant hand. “Thank you.” The elf would add with a smile on his face during the process of transferring.
After that, Treyni shot one look at the map, studying any movements from the mana beast around. When he determined that it was okay and that there was nothing to expect, the Azure Deer moved towards the back of the mana beast, keeping a relatively safe distance away from it’s reach. “I hope you’re ready.” He spoke over to Jordan on the other side with his grimoire floating on his side. Pages started turning as Treyni pictured out the spell in his mind. Although he’d wait for Jordan to strike, when he did so, the elf will follow suit. “Flower Magic: Nature’s Reach.” He confidently stated. Stunning violet lilacs swarmed Treyni’s hands blending together painting his hand with similarly colored stripes with white and a set of claws on each hand. Stretching out these claws as they appeared, Treyni prepared for a strike towards the mana beast back.
