[break] The kingdom had been put through the grinder over the last year, there had already been three daemon attacks that had caused a lot of damage, one of which had actually succeeded. The town of Kikka had been engulfed in darkness for two months under the daemonic rule. It had eventually been liberated but the damage had been done, there was now civil unrest and sewed the seeds of distrust towards the magic knights and their ability to protect the kingdom. Now there were three new threats that made the old ones seem like child's play, the unholy trinity of Aamon, Asmodeus and Lilith. [break][break] They were daemonic royalty and their strength made the captains and even Jagen concerned about the future, still, these were worries of the future and the town folk of Hapshass done their part to help to try and uplift the spirits of the people around them. They decided to hold a summer festival with all sorts of games, traditions, tours and even local foods to help alleviate the fear of others. They wanted to show that come what may the people of Clover would face it together regardless of social status and that they would never allow their hope to be dimmed by the uncertainty of the future.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]He hadn't been very well of late, he had pushed himself too far and it had put him in a semi-comatose state, the fact his adoptive father had almost killed him hadn't exactly helped either. He had seen his sister sacrifice her glass magic to protect his life, it was part of her as much as his ice was part of him but she had destroyed that part of herself for him. He remembered the guilt he felt that instant and it still weighed on him, the last time he remembered seeing before his vision fading to black was Lydia ending their father's life. He wasn't too sure how to think about that even now, he knew there were several reasons why the man hated him and no matter how hard he tried to prove himself it would have never been enough. He still had forgiven him as much as he had his own biological parents.
Lydia had done her best to heal his body but his body at that point wasn't taking as well as it normally did, the reason for that was unknown and he was instructed to remain within his room or library until he was well enough. It wasn't exactly like his body would allow him to do anything but look at the ceiling as he contemplated what he should really do with his life. At that time he hadn't even let Winter in his room, he instructed everyone just to leave him alone. Food and medicines were to be left at his door and he would get them as he wanted them. During that time he rarely ate or drank, even his favoured snacks and drinks remained untouched which worried people. He made sure to always take his medicine even if it was a little late due to struggling to and fro.
Even though he had remained within his room he had heard of the beach festivities that his family and a few others were putting on, that there was a ball in the royal capital and that there was even a festival in Hapshass. The beach would have been too much for him and Lydia would have been watching over him like a hawk due to his condition, he didn't need that nor did he want to ruin her time off. He didn't want to go to the ball, that meant he would have to deal with being social with other nobles that he just didn't have the patience to deal with. That and Lydia would find out easily that he had gone against her 'request' of him staying in his room or library. He was becoming restless which was a new experience for him.
Then again he was finding it hard to move around his room there was no way he was making his way to his library let alone moving around it. He was quite sure he would have difficulty getting to his study and that was closer and smaller than his library, he could have made a book fort, but then, he would have to put them back later so it seemed a bit of a hassle he'd rather avoid. When the day for Lydia and the rest of the family to depart he called for a carriage and some of his medicine to be put within it, this of course made the staff nervous but he was part of the family employing them. He reassured them that none of them would get into trouble, he just needed to get out and get some air. His request had been fulfilled shortly after.
He was given help to move into his carriage and the maid Lian who usually served him moved into the carriage as well making him blink. "We would all be in a lot of trouble if anything happened to you, so I'm coming too." she said with a smile sitting across from him. "I'm not as strong as Winter or Miss Lydia but I can be of use if the worst happens. I'll also carry your medicine." she informed him, he still looked less than happy with this "Don't worry, I will be close by but out of sight. I'm a sensory mage first and foremost after all." she said with a giggle. She had been getting help with her illusions and sensory in general from Arata, he knew that much and was actually quite curious as to how strong she had gotten so nodded "We're heading to Hapshass." he informed her.
They were on their way and after a few hours, they finally got to the town in question. The place was bustling, it was quite surprising. There was music, all sorts of games and foods. Stalls to have things drawn, trinkets made, hair coloured and styled, different styles of clothing, a sparring ring as well as a whole host of other things. It seemed like the Coral Peacocks and the civilians of the town had gone all out to try and show they weren't going to allow their way of life to be affected by the future. It was a good way to look at things, the kingdom had gone against many hard adversaries in the past and managed to quash them all. Why would this be any different? He knew of the civil unrest after Kikka and he had to admit it worried him but hopefully, things like this helped settle their concerns.

Rank & Element: Junior ¦ Light Class & Type: Relic ¦ Accessory (bracelet) Magic Specializations: Physical Reinforcement ¦ Healing Appearance & Lore: A simple bracelet made out of reinforced glass with an opalite charm dangling from it almost like a pendulum, that gives off a dull light during the day and a bright light during the night preventing any natural shadow from forming.
There is nothing of major historical importance or deep story into where this item came from. The white-haired heir of the Ravencrest family has suffered from terrible day and night terrors since he was young and still does to this day. When asked what is wrong he brushes it off telling people not to worry it was a condition he had. He will never go into the terrible things he sees, in fact, he personally wishes he could forget he quickly realized that his perfect memory was a double edge sword and at times he truly wished he didn't have it.
His elder sister Lydia was the first to realize that it happened more when he was in an emotional state or surrounded by darkness. She also realized that he refused to sleep unless every light source he could find was active or he would sleep outside under the sun during the day, this wasn't optimal as he was to be trained to take over the family if anything were to happen to Lydia. Still, there wasn't much anyone could think to do to help him as he refused to open up but even if they could that came with a different set of hurdles they had to get over. Hania earlier in his life wouldn't take things from people due to his treatment before being adopted.
It took a while but Lydia finally found a way to help her younger brother, she had a crystal made with light inside and told him to use it when he sleeps. She said it was hers and she just wanted to see if it would help. He was reluctant but she said it only had to be a few days so he accepted. Throughout those few days, he slept somewhat peacefully so it was clear that it helped but not enough, she could only guess that the light wasn't strong enough. She realized this would be fine for a normal child afraid of the dark but it was clear to the pink-haired woman that this wasn't a normal situation.
She personally designed what she believed would help him the most, she chose the materials, their appearance even the opalite that dangles from it. As the bracelet was being made she slowly started to imbue her own element into the glass beads and the opalite as the former was created and the latter was shaped. It took close to a year to complete but Lydia seen it as something that should be done slow and steady, this was to make sure that it was done right the first time and that no matter what it would be near indestructible for whatever he may face in life.
On what is now classed as Hania's eighth birthday after a certain incident happened, she gave him a box, within it laid the bracelet. He was told to keep it with him always as she would be there to keep the darkness at bay and watching over him so he could be at peace while he rested. From that moment he has always kept it with him even if he hasn't always worn it.

[attr="class","nyahPOSTIT"] Word travels quickly, and Pasha loved to hear about anything up-and-coming. So although they were in another, smaller community they heard of the announced Summer Festival to be held in Hapshass from an enthusiastic merchant that was travelling to the event. This was an excellent opportunity for Pasha to hear different rumors and stories that might help solve their problems - maybe even some fortune tellers or gurus who focus on matters of love. [break][break] So they joined the merchant on their trip to Hapshass. It was a quiet ride - the merchant allowed Pasha to ride on their cart - filled with the occasional questions and brief life stories from the older man, but that was alright. The blood mage was going there for a purpose, and that purpose didn’t involve the man, so Pasha didn’t prattle on about anything personal of theirs and if it weren’t for the other, the ride would be blissfully silent. They weren’t about to complain, though. [break][break] It took a night and a part of the day to reach the town in question, which was perfectly aligned with the start of the celebrations, but Pasha foolishly stayed awake the whole night. They didn’t trust the merchant enough to even rest their eyes, which isn’t anything against the man; the young mage simply didn’t want to risk it. That didn’t change the fact that Pasha had a tired look about them. [break][break] In the end, it was fine. They parted ways at the closest entrance to the city, and Pasha thanked the merchant with a yawn before heading in themself. Agh I’m so tired… I hope the festival food will re-energize me, then I can start hunting down anything pertaining to love! So they sniffed at the air and headed to wherever their nose led them at a lazy pace.

As a person Vile was wholly unaware of the world at large. The events that had taken place recently with Daemons was certainly no exception. For all he knew it was all well and good, not a single soul could be unhappy bar from him. He did however hear from a couple walking in the street, nearby his begging spot, that there was a festival taking place nearby. It piqued his interest simply because he had never participated in one before and thought that were merely a legend unlike the Great Jelly, lord and saviour of this world.
[break][break]
It was about noon when Vile stopped begging and attempting to provide stories for those who would listen. He found most of the people in town were simply too off-put by his horrible stench and bizarre appearance. He hadn't bathed in years but thought that for a festival he might need to clean up at least a little. To do so he headed for one of the stables on the outskirts of town. The moment it was left unattended he would rush over to one of the horse's water troughs. Being that he lacked the understanding of how one was to bathe themselves he didn't remove any clothing and jumped in. He used his cloak as rag to scrub with clearly not understanding this would only transfer the dirt and grime to his outermost layer.
[break][break]
With his "cleaning" completed he snuck past any stable attendants and finally headed back into the city centre. He was awe struck at how quickly scenery had changed and even more confused by the large crowds of people. It certainly never seemed this populated with him around. As he walked towards the festival itself people would give him a wide berth despite his best efforts to look presentable. The signs were not something he could read and he had no exposure to the games being played. This left him feeling lost and unsure of what he could do next and more importantly if it cost anything to play the games.
[break][break]
Instead of focusing on the confusing aspects of the festival Vile found himself intently looking at the decorations. He found what looked to be stuffed cat dolls and held one in hand. It was a horrifying little thing that made him reminisce about childhood. As a child he would often have to compete with feral cats for the best food scraps. "Absolutely disgusting creature" he said as he tossed the decoration to the side. It was at this point he began to realise under the hum and buzz of what could be hundred of people, there was music. He began tapping to the beat and bobbing his head enthusiastically much to the dismay of a lot of onlookers.
[break][break]
Through the cacophony of voices and games Vile heard talk of a rather extravagent carriage. He had heard that the town's folk around here had a lot of money and he wondered what kind of person that might entail. With this in mind he would move through the crowd, or rather they'd move around him to keep their distance, and he would gaze upon the carriage in question. He tilted his head to one side with a finger in his ear, contemplating how to approach this situation. The man's body was draped in a black, dirty cloak, hood down with only his sandal covered feet visible underneath. With the deranged look in his eyes it would be easy to mistake him for the unsavoury sort.

With her ambitions Ivy desired to be the best trifecta of what a royal should be. " A royal should be strong, wise, beautiful" , that's all she wanted other to uphold her family's honor and standing in the Kingdom, when she finally for her magic she disappeared for a year to train and even then she was only able to unlock two spells in that whole period, kind of disappointing for a royal but it was enough to finally join the Black Bulls.
Even with her magic knight status Ivy knew she was basically scum at the bottom of the barrel, she did more missions for strength and with missions came the unavoidable fact she knew very little about the world pointed out by meeting Sir Griswold and Echo Jaeger not too long ago.
It wasn't until she had just finished a rather easy mission that she heard that the Kingdom was due to a celebration in Hapshass, apparently in her absence and time away from the ongoings of the Kingdom there has been a daemon attack, Ivy had always heard stories and even seen the destruction one of them can cause but it had never been a issue she herself had to get involved in, guess those days were over. From her mission Ivy took a carriage all the way to Hapshass with a small family of three where she rode in the back along with the only son of the family that was kind enough to give her a ride and give her more information on the year gap she was training herself.
By the time they reached Hapshass where the family lived Ivy had a pretty good idea of what this celebration was really about, keeping the populace calm in the face of what could be a great attack on the Kingdom. Knowing the Kingdom could be under attack at any point was definitely not a comfort for her but she understood why these events needed to happen.
At the entrance of the town it wasn't very easy for Ivy to make her way in, she had to use her small size in order to squeeze in through the town crowd to the village center where she was able to find some food stalls that she was quickly gravitated too as she grabbed what appeared to be several types of meat and vegetables grilled and on a stick, delicious~!
[attr=class, cyrustext]Cyrus smiled as the strange vehicle summoned by the woman he was with began to fly lower to the ground; had he not seen it in the distance already, that would have been the signal that they were nearing the festival being held in Hapshass. He had been planning on hiring the services of a reliable carriage that could take them from the Forsaken Region to the town, but his company had insisted on providing the transport.
Cyrus' company was a young woman with long dark hair and pale skin, her vivid red eyes scanning the edge of the town as they approached the ground to land. "I believe this will be an adequate landing space." She informed the Elwood wizard with a professional tone, the young man nodding in agreement. The bow-like construct came to a stop once they were close enough to safely get off, and disappeared once they had disembarked.
Cyrus stretched his legs and arms, ready to enjoy a fun night of games and food. The kingdom had been in situation after situation lately, after all, so it made him happy to hear about all the events being held around the Kingdom to give their people some well-deserved rest.
He looked over at the girl accompanying him, only to see that she was carefully eyeing their surroundings as if in anticipation of some sort of attack. Magdalene still wasn't accustomed to more normal life, not that he could blame her after the situation where they met. Still, he hoped that perhaps a festival such as this might be a good step towards helping her relax and start to enjoy herself more.
The ball had been an outright no, when Cyrus was trying to decide which event to take her to. Besides being constantly on guard, he knew Magdalene was far too blunt and tense for a gathering that would most likely be mostly nobles. The fact that he himself couldn't stand them seemed like proof enough.
The beach had been considered, given Magdalene's usual outfit that she wore, even now beneath the simple white dress she had donned for the evening, but he also figured that the "freedom" of a beach might be a bit overwhelming for the girl.
So the festival in Hapshass it was; it seemed a fair balance between the chaos of the other two, and he figured she'd benefit more from games and food versus fancy dancing or swimming.
"So... what do we do at a festival?" Asked Magdalene as she watched a group of people walk by, carrying bags full of stuff they had purchased or won at the various stands and laughing at something that had happened. Cyrus smiled at her curiosity, beckoning her to follow him as they made their way into the crowd. "Well, why don't we get started with some food? There's always interesting food at these sorts of things."
The Blake girl simply nodded and followed, making sure to stay close to the Golden Dawn's Vice Captain. Fittingly for her family, she was practically his shadow, deftly following him through the ground despite her own lack of experience around so many people.
Cyrus searched for something that stood out to him, and eventually spotted it; there was a stand selling food that looked very familiar to him. "Over here, Maggie!" He urged her, making a beeline for the stall. The man behind the counter looked at his newest customer, smiling brightly. "Ah, Vice Captain Elwood! What can I get for you and your friend?" He asked, recognizing the sap wizard and surprised to see him here.
Cyrus pointed at one item in particular; a set of small lizards, grilled on skewers. Back before Cyrus had become a Magic Knight, when he was still training for the exam, he had seen something similar for sale in the Royal Capital one day while out shopping and really enjoyed it. It seemed an appropriate way to help introduce Magdalene to the world.
"I'll take four of the lizards on a stick, sir." He ordered, Magdalene watching the vendor curiously as he handed them the skewers. Cyrus took three of them, leaving one for his companion. She didn't seem disgusted or anything by the odd treat; merely curious as she turned it over. "No charge today! Y'all just enjoy the party!"
Cyrus smiled at the man and gestured for Magdalene to follow him, standing against a building so that they were out of peoples' way as they ate. He looked over at Magdalene when he noticed her staring at him. "Something wrong?" He asked.
She glanced back at the lizard skewer in her hand, tilting her head before returning her attention to Cyrus. "How... how do I eat this?" She asked, confused. At this Cyrus blinked, but then laughed. He had the exact same thought when he first bought them a few years ago.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Eventually, the ice mages carriage came to a stop and he got out helping Lian out who was holding his medicine box. It looked quite heavy thanks to the cherry oak that it had been made from, but, it had been enchanted with gravity magic to make it lighter than what it should be. "Do you have spending money on you Lian?" he would ask the maid who merely smiled shaking her head "I am here working I wouldn't have time to do other things." she said with a content tone, this actually made the ice mage sad. He was disconnected from things sure, but he didn't want someone else's life and enjoyment to revolve around him. He moved his left hand into his right sleeve and brought out a pouch giving it to her. "This is a festival, enjoy yourself if anything untoward happens I will contact you." he said moving away from her before she could protest.
He began walking down the streets his eyes looking around at the people laughing, playing games and having fun. It was actually a nice sight to see given everything going on. He did smell the food in the air but he was quite touchy on eating food he didn't prepare for himself or watched being cooked so there was a good chance he wouldn't really eat anything at the festival. There were some games he may play if he felt like it but it seemed like something someone would do with friends, a loved one or family. As far as he knew he was the only member of his family there, he didn't view people as friends easily so he had none of those and he had yet to make a connection to someone to make them a significant other.
He quickly covered his nose and mouth however as an unholy stench filled his nose and a person being given a wide berth from people appeared. Going by complexion, hair colour and eye color he could have been from the Delothosin family but he had never known any of them to be dressed in such a way or give off such a dreadful odour. He looked at the man for a moment unsure exactly what to do, part of him wanted to avoid this person and not sully his families name but at the same time, this was a festival to show that everyone stood together against the darkness. He couldn't help his reaction to the smell and knew that other people wouldn't be able to so perhaps some new clothing while getting his old ones washed might be the best thing to do if they would accept the kindness.
Another thing he would likely offer the person is something warm to eat because who knew how long it had been since they ate properly and perhaps trying to find a place that would give them shelter until they got back on their feet. That last one was most definitely going to be the hardest, he lowered the temperature around him and it helped take the edge off whatever this man had been sleeping on or in before walking forward. It was clear he was the polar opposite in the social ladder from the other just by how he dressed and held himself. "I'm sorry to bother you but are you in need of aid?" he would ask his voice sounding genuinely empathetic towards the sad excuse of a man before him, even with the cold temperature he felt his eyes watering a bit but ignored it for now.
He could hear the whispers of those around him but he paid them little mind "Perhaps a warm bath, a change of clothing and warm meal?" it was clear he wasn't attempting to offend the man but merely help him when others seemed to look on as if he was the vilest beast in creation. "My name is Hania, you are?" he would ask after introducing himself, his eyes eventually seen someone he kind of knew from when he had rescued them from a fruit vendor in Nairn who had accused them of stealing their wears without proof that it had happened. Smiling a little he would wave at Pasha before turning his eyes once more back to the man as he awaited an answer. He hoped he would at least accept the change of clothing as it would reduce the miasma that lingered around him quite considerably and the people would be more willing to give him a chance.

[attr="class","nyahPOSTIT"] Led-by-the-nose Pasha was. They were already working on some light pastry they bought earlier, their right hand held two skewers of roasted lizards, and their other held a pouch of roasted, salted, assorted nuts tied closed with a string. That was all they would need for the night, and it hardly cost them anything. [break][break] Swallowing down the pastry and taking a bite of one lizard, Pasha decided it was time to look for the reason they were there. So, picking a direction and walking towards it, the blood mage enjoyed the sights each stall they walked by provided. They listened as much as they could of what each crowd spoke, but could only ever pick out bits and pieces as the amount of attendees grew. It was frustrating and Pasha’s patience was wearing thin out of a mix of being overtired and a general distaste for overcrowding. [break][break] They’d finished clearing off a skewer of its meat and distastefully slid the spike into the tie of their hair to free up their hand more and started on the other skewer. Sure, they could have just tossed the wooden stick on the ground, but they didn’t want to cause any trouble in this town - not yet, anyway. As they walked along, they heard murmurs of a noteworthy carriage arriving at the festival. It could be any stuck-up noble or royal, but it could also be something that’ll lead them to where they need to be, or something like that. [break][break] However, following the rumors led Pasha to an exciting encounter. “Hanmya!” They called out with a mouth full of lizard to the white-haired individual they spotted in the distance, and when the ice mage waved at them, Pasha took it as an invitation to go to his side. But as they approached, they realized the crowds around Hania were essentially avoiding a bubble of space near him. That didn’t stop the blood mage from rushing over, though, and when they arrived at Hania’s side they saw what the crowds were avoiding. [break][break] A homeless person? Pasha assumed, unaware of the stench that surrounded the person in question. They quickly finished off their last lizard skewer and placed the stick next to the one already in their hair and swapped the pouch of nuts into that hand. With their left hand empty, Pasha grabbed at Hania’s sleeve so the other wouldn’t leave - not that Pasha suspected he would, but it was reassuring considering the waves of people passing by. Only then did they realize the sneers and looks of disgust said people would give to the homeless guy among them. Well, that’s all too familiar. [break][break] Whether Pasha was interrupting anything, they held out their bag of nuts to the man before them. “You hungry? All I got left are these nuts, but you can have them if you want.” And then they looked to Hania and addressed them. “Fancy meeting you here, my ice-cold savior. What has you coming out to Hapsass?” They asked, completely forgetting their surroundings and the fact that this was a festival.
Wholly in his own world, Vile took no notice of his onlookers or their complete avoidance of him. He was so used to everyone in the world avoiding or attempting to vilify his actions and demeanor. This led to him unable to empathise with people to fault. There were no similarities in the way the average person thought or survived that would provide connection for him. Anything other than grandiose creative expression was almost entirely lost on him.
[break][break]
Despite his attention being focused on the extravagant carriage, he had no real interest of the people inside it. The intense angles of its design and overall colours were the primary hooks of his attention. He wondered how wood, or whatever material it may be, could be designed in such a way. He tilted his head in an amused but contemplative manner, all the while scratching his hairless chin. What would happen if someone was to try and make this design with the bones of various monsters?
[break][break]
It would take several moments before he would snap back to the reality of the situation. The man that had exited the carriage and walked through the streets had stopped nearby. Unlike the vast majority of his interactions with others, he seemed to be looking at him with no sort of disdain or discomfort. It was a pure look that he didn't quite understand. His lips would purse upwards in a rather thin but toothy grin as he stared straight back into Hania's eyes. The eye contact would be intense and without intent, Vile would not blink during the entirety of their following exchange.
[break][break]
As the man with white hair raised a hand up to his nose, the grin would return to its curious but intense flatness. They always had that response; he never knew why. Everywhere but the forests smelt awful to him, and you simply get used to things you experience every day. A chill permeated through the air and still wet from his previous endeavors, he shivered. With contact still locked, the man engaged HIM in conversation... What a peculiar man this was to Vile; he wants something would be the only thought coming to his mind despite words spoken.
[break][break]
Rather than responding to his first question, Vile would continue to listen until his insufferable babbling would cease. To him, all words were just noise used to manipulate and control the perceptions of others, his genuine tonality and expression of the man would go wholeheartedly unnoticed. [break][break] "I like my clothes, they're mine and mine alone. Though that is to say I'd love a meal as long you're the one paying. My money is better spent than helping those fools make a quick buck." [break][break] The contempt in his voice would be dripping in each syllable spoken, he gestured towards the stalls of food nearby to signify the "fools." Upon hearing the proper introductions, he would smile once more in that overbearing and somewhat creepy manner. [break][break] "Name's Vile though your name means little Meal Man. You get me something to eat, and I might consider talking. You get me something delicious and maybe, just maybe, I teach you something that'll blow your mind." [break][break] His hands would open up and wiggle in what could only be appropriately described as jazz hands.
[break][break]
Almost immediately after his response, Vile and Hania's back and forth would be interrupted by a somewhat cheerful individual, offering nuts? [break][break] "I walnut lose out on this offer." [break][break] With the final word, Vile would reach over to snatch the bag like a dog being offered treats. Without hesitation, he would pull apart the top part of the bag, bending over at a near eighty-degree angle to begin pouring them into his mouth. A few would be lost in the process, but the exaggerated movement would be surprisingly fluid. Around a quarter of the bag was poured out and as he returned to a straight stance the most horrifying expression yet would be given. The man's mouth was too full of nuts to be able to chew looking somewhat like a squirrel, he would have a few actually fall out of his mouth as they moved around in his sorry attempts to somehow chew.
To someone such as himself, a place like Hapshass always seemed to be in need of something or another. He had been asked for his aid in the region quite a few times after all, which was why a fair amount of its citizen at least know him by appearance, a select few even knowing him by name. Helping them by relocating a bear and her cubs to a new den much deeper into the forest and further away from humans, both as a means of protecting the people and making sure no one would attempt to kill the mother and leave the cubs without a parent, that job had been one of the more uneventful ones. The times when he had been asked to deal with Goblins however, now that was another story entirely, as they had happened in two completely different settings, not to mention that they took place in fairly different points in his life.
The first time he had been tasked with checking out and dealing with a Goblin problem, he had still been a member of the Crimson Lions, not to mention being a fairly new magic knight that was still learning the ropes and getting to know his own magical properties. Because of that, and because of his fellow magic knight that had been sent out there with him, the ensuing fight had been a rather brutal one, quickly turning into a scene of blood and carnage with golems that were actually made out of blood ripping and tearing a bunch of Goblin scouts to shreds in the middle of the forest. In truth, that had been one of the moments that had helped shape him into the person he was today, both due to the sign of all that death and blood, as well as what happened next.
For during the slaughter, they had decided to let a single one escape and send word back to their lair and make sure they would never come back to Hapshass. But rather than learning the lessons they had hoped they would, they had in fact learned an entirely different lesson. Knowing that attacking a place such as Hapshass was not possible, the Goblins had set their sights on the farmlands surrounding Hapshass, knowing them to be way less well guarded, much to Griswold’s dismay. At that day, he had once again come to think about the words his former vice captain had said to him, about how not everyone deserved mercy and that not everyone would benefit from getting sent to jail. Some people were just too far gone, and that was a sentiment he had come to apply to all sentient creatures as they were capable of thought, and could therefore reconsider.
So when he had caught them trying to sneak in an attack on the surrounding farmlands some weeks after the initial assault, he had burned them all to cinders without letting a single one of them survive to bring back news to their lair. While it could be considered cruel, Griswold hadn’t made them suffer as their end had come nearly instantaneously, which was more than could be said about the average victims of a Goblin assault. With all of those events still rather fresh in his mind, the mercenary walked around Hapshass in a rather uncelebratory fashion. Wearing the same black attire as always, as well as the dark scarf that covered up the majority of the greatsword hanging on his back, he had come to look around for any clues as to the people that had recently started disappearing from Hapshass and the surrounding areas.
Stories had told of people going missing during the late evening and night time, which was when people reported hearing a strange singing coming from the nearby oceanic coves along the beaches. Up until now, there had been no cases of people going missing during the day, though he still felt like it would be a smart plan to check the place out, just like how he had decided to check out he beach. While the water would sweep away most signs of footprints and struggle, there were always some signs that the ocean could not wash away that quickly. But while he was in town, part of him also wanted to get a better look at the festivities that were going down, as the timing between these missing person’s cases and this festival popping up were a little bit too well timed to be a coincidence. At least that was what he thought as he made his way through the streets.
Doing his best not to let his distrust towards the whole thing show, which wasn’t that hard when considering his usually stoic facial expression, the mercenary made his way through the streets in an attempt at getting closer to the actual festivities. Because of how he was built, it was not all that hard for him to make his way through the crowd, as the fact that he carried around a rather large sword impressed most people to the point where letting him pass came naturally. Spotting Hania and some other people he did not know not to far from where he was, he made his way over to inquire what they were here for, even though he already had his answer. Though he had not heard the full conversation, he heard how the ragged man spoke in a rather rude manner, which wasn’t entirely a bad thing as Griswold had been rude plenty of times.
“Yo.”

Ivy upon arriving at the festival squeezed her way through the only ever thickening crowd as more people from all around the Kingdom gathered to have fun and enjoy a peaceful and exhilarating night , this was her Clover Kingdom. Walking a bit and seeing the sights she decided to get a bit more into the spirit, the journey here took about a day and a half and she hadn't eaten since then so she was actually starting to feel a bit weak from hunger, traveling the world like the commoners was tough.
Looking through the stalls she realizes there was plenty of food ranging from the normal downright to the bizarre, looking at a stand that served lizards on the stick, a clearly older guy ordering two as a woman stood not too far away, they were brave souls. After a few stalls she finally decided to stop as a stall that put meat and vegetables on a stick and grilled them, the meat looked pretty fresh and juicy so her hungry mind couldn't help but stop and order two, she was about to chow down.
But just before she could take a full bite her nose twitched and her whole body stopped mid open mouth, a terrible almost rotten scent hitting her nostrils, like someone who had been in the forest for far too long. Looking at her food after retracting her jaw she found she couldn't even eat them now, the scent ruining her current appetite. Saddened, she looked through the crowd and found that civilians had actually parted the streets, looking through the gaps of the people she could see one guy, the stench was definitely coming from him and...Eh? Is that Hania Ravencrest!!? I ain't seen him since the last family gathering..when did she actually go to one? Oh man she did not expect to run into another Ravencrest. Walking to the edge of the crowd some othee guy with his mouth open called out her cousin or relative? She didn't really know how close she was related to most Ravencrest.
Squeezing her way through the crowds for what felt like the third time in the last hour Ivy was finally able to get a front row seat to Hania and the other guys conversation while the civilians near them looked rather disgusted for the obvious reason of a smelly person, commoner or royal nobody liked something that smelled awful. Suddenly Ivy flet the crowd moving and shifted to see a familiar face she hadn't seen in a bit , Griswold, a man that had given her quite a bit of information on trolls in a time she needed it or she wouldn't have been here to enjoy the festival.
At the same time Hania was offering the smelly man a change of clothes and aid which was denied although he seemed very eager to be fed. Stepping past the crowd and into the slowly expanding group Ivy just tucked a bit of her hair behind her ears to make her face viable, "How about we give you some delicious food and some good food to take with you in exchange for some newer clothing fit for a festival, you can keep your clothes but your disturbing the civilians." Ivy said addressing the guy, passing the two kabobs to the guy she would smile, "I'm not hungry so you can have these, free of course if you think about it." With that Ivy would bow to the others, specifically Griswold and Hania, "Nice to see you again Griswold, cousin Hania it's nice to see you again as well although I doubt you remember a lower Ravencrest. "

[attr=class, cyrustext]"So how is it, Maggie?" Cyrus asked the girl as he watched her finally start experimenting on how to eat the strange lizard kabob he had bought for her. She had chosen to start at the creature's side, taking a small but meaty bite of the treat. Magdalene chewed slowly, trying to get a hold of how best to describe the flavor. "It is... good, I think. Rather mild, and the skin is tough. But... I believe that I like it."
Cyrus smiled as she tried to stretch out her explanation, knowing that she was doing it for his sake; he was trying to encourage her to talk more, so being descriptive about things such as this seemed like a good first step towards doing so in the future. "Glad to hear it. You want another one?" He asked, holding one of the two remaining kabobs out to her. She looked at it and then at the bare skewer she held in her hand, having finished the first one already.
"Well... perhaps one more." She said after a few seconds of quiet consideration, taking the lizard from her companion while uttering a stiff word of thanks.
Cyrus chuckled quietly as he watched her eat the second kabob, now going at it more confidently and comfortably than she had the first time. Hama decided that this would be a good time to join in the festivities, emerging from the pages of Cyrus' grimoire to get a good look at the surrounding stands and games. "So we're finally here! Awesome! What sort of game should we play first?"
Cyrus took a look around to see if he could find something that looked interesting, his eyes briefly passing over a few familiar faces gathered up together. He saw Hania and Griswold, along with some other faces that didn't quite ring a bell. Normally he might reach out to them, but he didn't want to overwhelm Magdalene by introducing her to a bunch of strangers.
It was then that his eyes fell on a small tent with a shallow pool of water, several balloons floating on the surface. A glance in Maggie's direction saw her nibbling at the little bits of food still stuck to her skewer, and he nodded to get her attention. "Come on, Magdalene. I'll show you how to play a simple but tricky game!" He encouraged her, heading in the direction of the attraction. She looked at the empty skewers in her hands for a moment before tossing them into a nearby trash bin as they walked towards the pool, eyeing the strange orbs in the water with some degree of suspicion.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania remained standing where he was looking at the foul-smelling male in front of him, his attention was taken away as he heard what he thought was his name coming from his acquaintance Pasha. He watched as the raven-haired male all but rushed to his side, he wasn't at all surprised given what he had done upon their first encounter. "Pasha, please don't speak with your mouth full it's unseemly." his tone was as neutral as it always was even upon chastising the younger male. He honestly wasn't trying to be harsh but at the same time, he didn't get why people felt the need to not just swallow what they were eating before talking. There were of course times that it could be forgiven such as if there was an attack that came out of nowhere. This wasn't the case currently. He was also glad that the younger male wasn't trying to dangle off his arm like a bracelet as well.
Well, he had thought too soon as the other grabbed at his sleeve, he knew that the other must have had some abandonment issues as this was the second time he had attempted to do this with him. "Pasha, please let go of my sleeve you are not a child and I am not your parent. I will say I am not leaving currently." he disliked being touched too much but he could bear it when needed, as he spoke he took the two lizard skewer sticks out of Pasha's hair and placed them into a nearby bin. It was just unhygienic to do such a thing, it was often commented in jest by Lian that he was a germaphobe because of how often he washed and changed clothes. She may have been right about the former but he only changed his clothing more than once a day if there was a need for it.
This would be if his clothing got dirty, torn, a meeting, court or if there was an event he was being forced to go to for one reason or another. Hearing what Pasha called him he closed his eyes and counted to five slowly to keep himself from saying something he may regret at a later point. "Pasha, please don't call me such ridiculous things. I did what any decent person should have." He opened his eyes, it really was that simple for the ice mage. He did watch as he offered the nuts he had to the man he had been speaking to previously. He tilted his head as the man seemingly took offence to the first part of his offer. "I wasn't suggesting I take them from you. I'm sure you would just like to freshen up and have those washed before being given back to you."
His voice was in no way hostile towards the other, he was honestly just trying to help him and save his and everyone else's nose at the same time. "I wouldn't mind paying for a meal for you." he said calmly, he listened to the man's tone and where he would normally take insult it was a little different this time as he seemed more than a little crazy. He had dealt with plenty of fools but the insane... not so much. It meant that he would give him a bit more rope to hang himself with so to speak "What is your real name because I refuse to call you something so horrid." It was clear he would refuse to call the man 'vile' even if that is exactly how he found him.
"Is that so?" he said he directed his attention to the vendors "Please go and order what you would like, I will cover the cost." he clarified, he was interested to find out what someone insane believed would be so amazing that it would blow his mind. This was more a childish curiosity more than anything else, still, he would play along. He watched as he opened his hand and shook them and wiggled his fingers oddly. It was quickly after that he took up Pasha on his offer and took the nuts but instead of eating just a few at a time, it seemed like this man believed himself a squirrel and that he could store some of the nuts in his cheeks. The white haired male stood there in complete belief unable to really to react to what he just saw happening. He legitimately believed that alcohol may have been the answer and this was the man who swore he would never drink.
Hearing a familiar voice Hania once again turned his attention to see the blonde haired elf he had done his spirit training with before the Royal Knight exams. "It's been a while Griswold, how are you doing." he said his left hand going to his chest while his right hand extended a little the flat of the palm faced towards him. "I'm glad to see that you have come to enjoy the festivities, but, how is your training going with Ardere?" he asked knowing that everyone that had been chosen for this task was likely going through some heavy duty training with the captains of their small squads. It was then he heard his cousin Ivy's voice, he wished he could say that he forgotten that she had no filter but he hadn't.
He watched as she offered her food to another and spoke to Griswold before himself. When he was all that bothered that he was spoken to after Griswold, what did bother him was that she believed that there where ranks within their family when this was never the case. It was true everyone had their job to do within it but it didn't mean she was thought of any less than Kara or Michail. "Please do not insult yourself like that again Ivy." he said his voice was neutral but she would hear the very off undertone though it was subtle "Also, you are talking to the only person in our entire family who has a perfect memory, so it is unlikely I would forget you." he continued, his eyes moved to a familiar figure in the distance "Vice Captain Elwood, I hope you and your friend will join us when you have the chance." whether the sap mage would hear or humour him was another matter entirely.

[attr="class","nyahPOSTIT"] Pasha listened with a smile when Hania scolded them, but their hand remained clutched on the other’s sleeve. “Sorry Hania, I appreciate it Hania.” was all they said in response. They were at least glad that the homeless person, whose name is Vile - which is fitting - took what Pasha offered them with little hesitance and a little pun that got a chuckle out of them. Yet, they ignored Vile’s attempt to return the bag of nuts to them in favor of looking up at Hania and watching them with a content smile. [break][break] That’s my prince, always so caring. Pasha thought, listening to the ice mage’s attempts to convince Vile to accept their charity. A yawn escaped them, which they covered with their empty hand and even watered their eyes, but got cut short when another person drew Hania’s attention. Taking a quick peek at the man that approached them and hearing their ice-cold savior address him as ‘Griswold’ satisfied Pasha’s initial panic, so they relaxed back to watching their ice mage interact with the man in question. [break][break] But of course, this being a festival and Hania being the beautiful prince he is, another person gravitated to the group and stole the blood mage’s focus from who it belongs to. Only this time it was a girl around Pasha’s age and didn’t seem nearly as intimidating as the blonde man that approached them prior. Wait, did she say cousin Hania? Is she really so familiar with my savior? Taking the opportunity of her feeding Vile - someone who seems really skilled at getting free handouts, it seems - Pasha shifted closer to Hania ever so slightly. [break][break] And then, thanks to Pasha’s nonexistent luck, another two festival-goers caught Hania’s eye. Something, something Elwood was what their ice mage called out to grab the other two’s attention, but at this point Pasha was beyond caring about putting faces to names. Coming across Hania during such an auspicious occasion presented the perfect chance to become more familiar with him. Yet, all these people seem to know him already. [break][break]
Who cares about these people, anyway? You should just kill them, then they won't be in the way of your date.
[break] Pasha shook their head to chase away that dark thought that snuck in from the back of their mind. This wasn’t the place or the time to have a breakdown, not with Hania around. So Pasha wrapped both their arms around the ice-mage's arm they’d caught and stared up at his face with a cheeky smile forcefully spread across their face to distract them from the lingering thoughts. [break][break] “Ha-nya~ Pay more attention to me! There are so many things to look at here, and I want to look at them all with you. Then after, maybe we could share a room at an inn? I’m so tired, I could fall asleep right here on your arm.” Pasha said, starting with a light whining tone before switching to a teasing one, rubbing their cheek on Hania’s arm to drive their point home and punctuation with an obviously cute little giggle - all while intentionally ignoring all the others gathering to talk to the ice mage.
While the bizarre attempts at humour Vile had performed were fruitful, he had not thought too far ahead. A few more of the nuts shot out of his mouth and onto the ground in front of him. Worse yet was the dribble leaking from either side of his mouth as he continued to try and chew. It took several moments of him listening to the individuals in front of him before he would decide on a drastic measure to emphasize an already moronic dilemma.

Vile reached inside of his coat and pulled out his grimoire. The tome looked ancient, dusty and yet mysterious all at the same time. The covering featured malicious looking figures with dark purple eyes overlayed an entirely black leather frame. The edges were clearly frayed with what looked to be ivory, or potentially even bone, binding plates. There was a variety of scratch marks, dirt and dark brown patches of a mysterious liquid lining the entirety of the book itself. In one distinct and calm gesture he flipped open the book revealing incredibly dark purple pages that were almost black. The text was a decayed white colour and would detail various texts of shadow. With another fluid gesture with his other hand he placed a finger on a page stopping it from flipping further open. This revealed that he had black nails to the individuals in front of him as well as various scars and bruises lining the outsides of his forearms.

The text within the grimoire glowed momentarily in a inky purple and black wispy fashion. In a mere second later the wispy shadows formed around his hand and covered the entirety of them with a dark tint just past each of his wrists. The ends of the fingers became tipped giving an animalistic, even otherworldly appearance. With the claws appearing those able to sense or understand physical reinforcement magic would become wholly aware of the strength he had just given himself. The somewhat toned but slim arms looked as though they had become more define though this was simply a matter of perception rather than anything that was something that was actually happening. In a single crunch he clenched his jaw down and began munching on th nuts with little to no effort. It would have been rather bizarre for anyone witnessing the event, dark evil looking claws mixed with a chipmunch expression... All in the name of devouring some bloody nuts?
[break][break]
Vile would deliberately wait for the individuals in front of him to talk before chewing. He would very obviously stop when they stopped speaking and continue once again when they too continued. It was obvious what he was doing but still completely amusing to the man. All the while he would stare blankly at the man in front of him with vacant, disinterested eyes. It was clear that he had entirely zoned out rather than listen to the man signifying he cared little of what he had to say. Still with this in mind he still had vaguely understood the context of what was said.
[break][break]
"Look mate, I don't really care what you're offering unless it's food so let us get off this ceaseless babbling of clothes and dare I say... Freshening up." With the last two words spoken he would use air quotes. Clearly he was more interested in mocking rather than the food itself. "I'll be fair... I want the most expensive meal possible here. As for my name it's Vile, if you want to call it horrible we're simply done here mate. It's the best name a man could ask for so don't go on giving it any personal meaning. It's a match made in the oce-heaven... You guys worship some crazy thing in a place called heaven here, right?" In response to his last directive of choosing a stall he would look at what he could only describe as; "Why don't you send nutty, short and clingy to do it? They look like they'd do anything for their widdle ol' master." He chuckled at that one. Clearly Vile was wholly unaware of the persons he was being condescending with, let alone the long term consequences of where his attitude might lead him.
[break][break]
By now the grizzled man had reached the group and approached the rather dignified Hania. Vile would smile walmly to the man with the sword, he didn't understand why but he instantly gave off an aura that demanded respect. Vile caught himself and realised he was actually just merely afraid of the prospect of the group retracting the offer of food. He pondered for a moment as he wiped off the dribble that had rolled down his chin; 'maybe pissing off this many toss pots at once... Isn't that great of an idea. That big lad looks like he could give me a permanent physical alteration... I don't need that.' "You know what, I'm sorry for acting like a rather odd dandy. I'll go get that food myself I reckon, you got a pouch for me to pay with?" With this said the man would hold out a hand expectantly with a smug disengenuous smile.
[break][break]
It would become immediately apparent that Vile was only giving attention those he saw value in teasing or taking advantage of. This was all part of the plan to rile them up, he truly cared very little for the food itself let alone any clothing that might be offered. It was after these exchanges that yet another individual would interject. 'How many people does this dunce know exactly...? What the fuck man, this is way too much to handle all at once if things go sideways.' Unfortunately for the vagabond because he had very little regards for the feelings of others this was almost always the case. He visibly grew a little less confident as he hunched forwards somewhat and the cheeky grin faded ever so slightly. Both of his hands would lose their dark shading as the wispy shadows would dissipate in a single moment. The dispersal of his shadow magic would look rather beautiful as it would tatter into black ribbons of mana.

He looked at yet another ever so gracious and hospitable city goer. Lowering his hand if he wasn't given the pouch to buy his food he would use the same hand to take the offered kebab and inspect it intensely. Vile would bring it no more than an inch from his eyes and check it from ever angle before looking over the woman known as ivy. His eyes narrowed when looking at her, the amount of people being nice to him all in a single day was incredibly unusual and past experiences had left him skeptical of any kindness. It was either that the people in front of him were a group that had all known each other and had been somewhat kind individuals, or more likely this was the setup for a rather malicious joke. The vagabond would nibble at the meat on the stick while still narrowing his eyes at the new arrival, all without saying a word. For all his banter previously it was now clear that Vile had begun to retreat into a defensive and far more passive state of mind.
