In this world, Magic is Everything. All people, all races, are granted with the power to perform mystical and magical feats via grimories, mystical tomes granted to each and every child on their 15th birthday. Those blessed by the mana can have their names written down in legend.

Having no idea as to what exactly he had just gotten himself into, it was for reasons such as this one that Griswold generally avoided having to be a part of purely social interactions. Things often got crowded rather quickly, which was not entirely something he enjoyed, simply because it became harder and harder to accurately keep track of everyone he was supposed to be dealing with and responding to. To him, things like these were more of a chore than handling a band of brigands or fighting some kind of monster. From what he could tell though, it seemed that Hania had surrounded himself with a bunch of rather strange people, people that were rapidly managing to become bothersome due to their odd behavior. Luckily, all of their weirdness seemed to be directed towards Hania and not him, which really was for the best as it would have been a short-lived festival to be sure.
“Things have progressed rather… slowly, so I’ve taken to forsaken realm and the fringe to do some training of my own, which at the very least had some results. Before we continue though, I have to ask. Who’s the accessory?”
Pointing towards Pasha, who seemed to be a rather clumsy individual, he was having a bit of trouble figuring out whether they were a girl or a boy, but felt that it’d be weird to ask such things. While he himself was a rather blunt instrument to say the least, he at least knew enough about social interaction to not ask people about their gender as it often brought up some rough discussions. Nobody liked hearing that they looked like a man when they were in fact a woman, or that they looked like a woman when they were in fact a man. Instead, he just frowned a bit at how this person was clinging and squirming around Hania like they were some sort of love-sick puppy. When his senses informed him of mana being utilized, his eyes narrowed as they darted towards the man who was apparently being fed nuts as his hand instinctively shot towards the handle of his greatsword.
Gripping it tightly, he kept himself from drawing it and bringing it down as a means of disarming a potential threat when he noticed that it was just the homeless person being weird about his “dinner”. To say that Griswold was on edge due to the disappearances of civilians in the area was an understatement, so using magic around him was most likely not the most clever thing to do. However, since he had not divulged this information, there was no way the guy could have known about it, so he really couldn’t blame him. Releasing a deep sigh, he let go of the hilt and lowered his arms back to his sides before slipping them into his pockets. Funnily enough, Griswold had no idea why he reached for his sword first, rather than going straight to his magic, seeing as how attacking someone with his sword would likely work out in their favor due to the sheer destructive power of his spells.
“You know, you shouldn’t just go around using magic like that, people might think you’re up to something shady. That said though, that looked like a rather interesting kind of spell. What kind of magic was that?”
Asking purely out of a general interest towards new forms of magic, Griswold had always possessed a rather childish pull towards anything new. Due to the manner in which it was utilized, it seemed like some kind of physical enhancement, either of the offensive or the defensive variety since the guy did not go about shooting projectiles of some sort. Whatever it was, he wondered if the guy would openly talk about it, as he knew some people who felt like they had something to hide would not go about displaying their stuff like that. That said, Griswold wouldn’t have minded showing off his own magic, though the risk of turning the place into a sauna or outright melting the surrounding windows through the sudden formation of a small sun was likely not the best idea. Turning his attention back to Hania as the homeless man kept bringing up the matter of food, he wondered what the guy knew about the festival.
“He keeps bringing up the matter, and i'm not sure if you even know yourself, but what kind of food does this festival even have?”
Due to his travels and the hard work he had done across the country, it wouldn’t be the worst thing to go out and get a bit of food, especially if this festival had some kind of specialty. Having never been to a single festival before in his life, the overall vibe he got from the place was rather pleasant, even though it seemed to invite more interaction than his social battery could handle. For the time being, he would do his best to remain as friendly and conversational as possible, at least up until this mental battery depleted and he’d just wander off to go do something else.

Jorah Von Shurke a man with a chip on his shoulder, a myth to some people that had only heard rumors of some sort of vigilante that looked out for the discarded children of Clover, and to some...maybe even a criminal that was plotting his next dastardly deed. Here he was in Hapshass on a sort of holiday, he had brought with him the children of the orphanage...only five at the moment, and he paid for them to enjoy themselves; games, little carnival rides, and foods they normally would not get. Right now he just looked like a busy father to all of these children he brought with him.
”I’ll take six shaved cones please. Extra syrup for one, the flavors are strawberry, plum, blueberry, and three blackberry. Thanks.” He said as he paid the yul for the treats while he waited. Sitting the children down at a bench; Sally, Molly, Joseph, Braden, Gus, and Adam all were looking happier than they ever had been. They were the outcasts among the orphans he had been raising...nobody looked at them too much since they were nearing the age of getting their grimoires, they all had their own hopes and dreams, and none seemed like the kind to be apart of his...family, or organization...whatever they wanted to label it as. Yet he was here trying to give them the best that Clover had to offer on this event, even if he did not agree with how the kingdom was run. Not too long after the six shaved cones were handed to the five children and one for himself as he just took in the sights of the people. The cynical side of him just wanted to show these people they were being led to a butcher like sheep with a farmer, yet at the same time he just wanted his own children here to experience the good of the people from time to time. That was when he heard a commotion between two people. It seemed like there was a dispute over someone buying a piece of art, and then the supposed artist saying that it was not even done...meanwhile his eyes scanned the area, finding a man counting his yul and walking away from the scene in a hurried fashion. ”Where are those knights to stop this kind of crap from happening.” He said under his breath as he ate his shaved cone, he did not do anything to stop the con either...it was not his monkey...not his circus.
[attr=class, cyrustext]At the sound of Hania's voice calling out to Cyrus over the crowd of people, the young man turned to face the source of the familiar sound. As he did, so did Magdalene, immediately moving to place herself between the unfamiliar figure and the Vice Captain. Cyrus sighed gently, placing a hand on the woman's arm in an unspoken signal they had discussed before coming here so that she would know when it was okay to relax a little bit.She nodded slowly, stepping aside but still keeping her eyes trained on the group of people like a hawk eyeing its prey.
"Hello Hania, good to see you. This is Magdalene Blake, a new friend of mine." He introduced the girl to the other Magic Knight, lightly tapping at her back to encourage her. She bit her lower lip, uncertain, but eventually managed a simple greeting. "Hi." She said quickly, before whipping her head around at the sound of someone letting out an excited yell. Someone had successfully managed to snag two balloons in the game they had been on their way to play, and from how they were reacting they had been at it for some time now.
Cyrus shook his head. "Easy Maggie, easy. It's just the game. Please, try to relax." He assured the young woman, who slowly relaxed her posture and returned her attention to the conversation. It was clear that she wasn't exactly used to these sorts of situations. Cyrus looked back at Hania, shrugging slightly. "Sorry, but it might be a bit too early for Maggie to interact with a big group. But I do hope you all enjoy your evening. Please take care."
Knowing that the Blake girl would still be on edge in the area, he ushered her away from the group and games and into the area where people were selling their goods. Maybe some less personal, more business-like interactions would be a better way to get her used to people.
"I... I apologize, Cyrus. I did not mean to keep you from... your friend, was he?" Maggie said, clearly feeling bad for having inspired the decision. Cyrus smiled at her, giving the girl a soft pat on the shoulder. "It's okay, Magdalene. I know you're trying your best. We just need to take it slow, yeah? I'm sure that you'll be ready to talk to people soon. You just need to keep at it! And I'll be helping however I can, of course."
Magdalene smiled a little bit at this, deeply touched by his words. It wasn't the first time he had offered such reassurance, but it certainly didn't diminish its meaning to her.
A man was hurriedly walking down the path came close to bumping into Cyrus, but found himself stopped by a deceptively powerful arm belonging to the woman who had appointed herself his bodyguard. Cyrus thanked Maggie, who smiled slightly, before turning his attention to the man. "Is something the matter, sir?" He asked, a polite smile on his face. Despite the sincerity of his friendliness, however, the man might feel a bit of... pressure, about it.
Cyrus looked in the direction he had come running from. "Is something the matter?" He asked, Magdalene eyeing the man warily.

The man was garbed in his normal black pants and some geta with tabi socks but his upper clothing was an elegant kimono shirt that was shades of black and gold that showed how high quality the clothing was while his ornate katana was strapped to his hip like always. he knew there were quite a few events going on to let off some tension after what had happened at Kikka and the put the common folk at ease due to the mounting danger so he decided to peek in on two of them before finally getting dressed up and making some connections with nobles at the ball being held later on as he walked thru the street he saw a few familiar figures before him, he saw Hania and Griswold along with a few others and he approached them his hands in his sleeves. As he approached he saw Griswold seemed to not be to pleased and the blood mage sighed as he spoke when close enough.”he might enjoy the festivities more if he perhaps smiled and loosened up” he said his tone was joking and casual as he stopped a bit from Griswold and smiled softly at Hania before he would bow respectfully. [break][break] “it is good to see you again Hania your match in the exams was quite amazing to behold” he complimented, from what he had seen of the battle it had been a tough fight for the ice mage but Sol thought that he had done an amazing job during the fight and it really showcased his abilitys. As he looked at the other girl who seemed to refer to Hania as her cousin Sol offered a small bow.”my apologies I should introduce myself I am Sol Shinryu I was in the royal knight exams with Hania and Griswold here” he explained as he introduced himself and offered her a small smile. While he was not normally one to be vocal around new people he figured it wouldent hurt to keep making more connections and allies while he aimed to join a new squad who knows they might be his future squad mates. This was an ideal day for Noah to have a little break, as he was just currently on a mission chain in Hapshass with magic knight. Having a small lay-over before they would further advance in their adventures, young mage wanted to catch up on everything he has been neglecting for the past few weeks as his life tempo has changed rapidly. First things first, he was in the city famous for its doctors and extraordinary craftsmanship when it came to designing new medicine. These were things Noah was concerned about the first time he came by the city. Given his offensive abilities, he was often contemplating of different scenarios that could happen, whether it was a mission or a dungeon, or just a regular fight. If he ever got hurt, there was nothing he could do by himself. Being a control freak, he already made a list of things that are worth checking out. From simple bandages, disinfecting gels and pain numbing syrups. He wanted to make sure that there was always a way he could help himself when being injured. He hasn’t encountered a mage that would be specialized in healing magic, which made the whole matter just more pressuring.
Noah had a lot of irrational fears, one of them was being wounded in an isolated location, and bleeding out due to his terrible knowledge at body anatomy and having no supplies to somehow manage to situation. Rationally, there was no way he would end up in situation like this willingly, as if there were tasks that were beyond his power levels, he would usually be assigned with someone far more experienced. This has happened multiple times, and each it the experience was more enriching than he would have anticipated. His dreams were however still wild, and occasional nightmares happened. That made him a little paranoid about different scenarios that were most unlikely to happen. As he was just passing the streets of now very lively city, he realized that he also lacked any general knowledge about first aid, but that wasn’t something he could work on overnight. Young mage held his small notebook in his hand, and when something would come to his mind, he would quickly note it. The notes he had there so far were very short, but pretty self-explanatory. Main theme was GET STRONGER, which was written on basically every site with some other writings.
Finally, finding a page he wrote before he set off on missions with Griswold, he started reading aloud all the supplies he wanted to find today. His main objective was to get something to make him number to pain, as Noah was very sensitive, or better phrased, overly sensitive. He knew there were major events happening soon, that would decide his way of life for next decades to come. There was the training with the Shadow of Dawn, which would further determine if he was fit to join the Golden Dawn and pursue his goal. For that training, he wanted to be prepared as best as he could. Already being aware of some of his drawback, that could negatively affect the outcome, he now made it his goal to eliminate those. Sadly, there probably wasn’t a magic pill that would increase his physical condition, but given his poor body structure, it wasn’t something he could work on in a week. This was one of few things he gave up on in advance, as it he started working rapidly on it, it wouldn’t pay out soon enough. Rather than that, he had a little moment of self-intervention, and after finally admitting he is a little crybaby, he decided to build up his pain tolerance. Previously, getting bit by a bug could make him loose his mind, and that wasn’t something that should happen to a Magic Knight.
First shop he encountered was run by a witch, she was very sympathetic and Noah felt like she could understand his concerns. Having little knowledge in the field of medicine, he was basically open to any suggestions the woman would offer. What was he supposed to say though? After poorly explaining his concerns to the young witch, she gave him some sort of a potion. It was probably a medicine but it looked very suspicious. It was supposed to help him heighten the resistance to physical pain, apparently he had to try it drop by drop, adding one more drop each time he would make peace with his current pain level he was feeling. This seemed like a thing that he would preferably do in a private, as he wasn’t ready for people to hear him weep and shout ugly things. He thanked her and bowed respectfully, and left the store. Where to go next? He still wanted to buy some bandages and disinfecting solutions. Maybe it was stupid, but once he arrived to Hapshass he overheard a group of people praising the products of this city, saying that items of such quality could never be found in Royal Capital. Maybe it was just an advertising trick, either way Noah fell for it.
Browsing couple more stores, there were a lot of intriguing things he wanted to buy. Thankfully, he stopped himself as his yul situation wasn’t ideal, and focused only on the necessities. Bandages weren’t that difficult to pick, as he just aimed for the cheapest ones. Truth be told, he had no idea how to use them, but he also subconsciously new that he wouldn’t be using them anytime soon. He also managed to pick up a couple of solutions, one was for clearing out open wounds, which smelled terribly of alcohol. He decided to never open it and have it ready just in case something would happen. The other one was a syrup that he could use under circumstances of being in pain and having to still keep on fighting. It was just a pain reliever, but this purchase made him actually happy. After finishing his successful shopping spree, it was time to get back to the place he was originally staying in.
The streets were even busier than couple of hours ago, before he started. A lot of people were going in a similar direction, and as it was a rule of sheep, Noah´s curiosity would lead him with the crowd. Ignoring his social anxiety and an unreasonable fear of open spaces, he then eventually ended up in a beach. That made sense, this was obviously a popular location for holidays. Given the fact that his ordinary life was now pretty confusing, he hardly realized it was a summer season. There was some event happening, quite unsure what it was, he just decided to keep his distance and observe, before joining everyone else. It was apparently organized by Magic Knights, celebrating the break they would get, even if it was a small break, from protecting the kingdom from a new threat. Noah knew very little of the situation, but he could tell that people who he could see were enjoying themselves. At least a little.
This would be an ideal opportunity to create some connections with the Magic Knights, but also how would he do this? Young mage wasn’t the type that would fearlessly rush into a group of people and try to join the conversation. He also wasn’t naïve enough, that he would believe that someone would just casually approach him standing away from the event like an outsider. Brief moment of thoughts, Noah just sat down under one tree that seemed like a nice company. Choosing tree instead of human beings, great start to the socialization. Maybe this just wasn’t the right time to create connections. It was obvious that those people were exhausted from endless fights they had to endure in past few months, and considering Noah´s topics he could talk about, he couldn’t see himself adding something valuable to the conversation.
Sitting in a shade of a tree was still a pleasant experience though, he unpacked his backpack and decided to check out everything he bought today as well as compare it with the list of things he wanted to originally buy. Trying to ignore the noise, he needed to concentrate. Listing through the pages of a small diary, or rather a notebook it was obvious he was very pleased. Good thing was that he had everything he now needed, and this offered him some time to finally reflect on his next step. Training with the captain, doing even more dangerous missions. Was he ready for that? Probably not, but still he felt some sort of excitement that was making him feel alive. As if his previous life, before he set a foot in the Royal Capital was just some fog. He felt a little guilty for not being in contact with his mother, maybe she didn’t even care. Eventually, he would write a letter, but he also wanted to make sure he has something to write about. Probably, he was just waiting to experience a major events, maybe joining his dream squad would be the ideal occasion.
Starting to drawn in these thoughts, he continued to be less and less concentrated as he was slowly falling asleep. The temperature was just alright, in the shadow and it felt like he won´t miss much by a small nap. It was weird that he felt comfortable enough to even sleep at this place, as it was still outside and there were a lot of people around. Young mage was however tired, his shopping spree took a toll and his lids were getting heavy. What woke him up, or rather just made him snap out was a sound of his notebook falling onto the glass container with the medicine he bought earlier. Quickly straightening himself up, he realized that maybe he should indeed take a nap, or maybe even just sleep regularly, sun was still up and bright, but it was summer so judging the time of the day was harder it would usually be. Noah quietly packed all his things, and set off to his accommodation. Before he would go to sleep, he still wanted to develop some sort of strategy he could use during his training. The idea of hitting a captain of Golden Dawn seemed impossible, and at first he felt a little stupid for his initial thoughts, which were worries about Noah hurting him. Being back in reality he knew that most likely wouldn’t happen, and the things he should worry about were on the opposite spectrum.
Upon arriving to his modest room, he sighted as he switched into his sleeping clothes, while still being clueless about his advancement. He didn’t want to count on someone telling how to do certain things, because that has been happening a lot recently. He felt weak, not in a bad way, but what he had problems with was admitting it to someone stronger. He knew that if he didn’t admit it beforehand, they would find out anyway. This feeling was fueling his motivation, which to be honest, needed to be fueled a lot. Being a natural pacifist from his early years, he managed to kill more creatures in this month than his whole life. He was sure this would take a toll on his wellbeing, but given the rapid speed everything was going in, there has not been a time where he could properly absorb everything that has happened. Maybe this was the way he could go about it, suppress it for as long as possible, giving no chance for an introspection. This idea was so bad, he even frowned. Last thing he wanted to experience was a mental breakdown in front of somebody of higher status. Maybe, taking a day off, after finishing all his duties and focusing only on himself and his thoughts was a better way to do this. Being in a controlled environment would make it easier for him to set off on an emotional rollercoaster this past month has been. Lying in the bed already, it didn’t take him a long time to fall asleep, while still thinking about his near future.

TLDR: didnt really interact with everyone -50% word count -
Looking at Sol with a rather stoic expression, not flinching for even a moment, he just kept him in his sights for almost half a minute. While he did, he just pondered on how things had developed over time, remembering very well the time they spent alongside one another in the tower of Quinteps, which was honestly quite high on the list of things he would prefer to forget or erase altogether. While he held no grudge against the guy, nor towards the two lion cubs for that matter, he had not exactly forgotten how eager they had been to point him out as the bad guy for “allowing people to drown in an indoor swamp”. It was their own fault for being stupid and not listening to a word he said that they almost drowned to begin with, as he had gone in first and actually took the time to shout out that the floor was quicksand and that they should avoid stepping in it at all costs.
“Well well well, look who finally found his sense of humor. I was beginning to think you might have lost it in the quicksand all those months ago. Does that mean that you’re done pouting about the tower? Because I heard the lot of you retreated not long after I did.”
Dropping the tension by letting go of his stoic expression and actually making way for a small grin, he imagined the guy had likely been in a bit of a bind at the time. What with one of them wanting to do what he did best, which was scouting the place out on his own before coming back to set up a plan, one of them being almost subservient to his fellow cub, and the other being outright stupid and childish to the point where it might have gotten one of them killed. At the time, Sol had been the strongest of the lot, meaning he was indirectly going to be looking out for the rest of the group as well as himself. In the heat of the moment, it was possible that the guy had never heard a thing he had said, and therefore went along with the two cubs in the belief that Griswold was actively out to have them all drown in the earliest stages of the dungeon. Clearly that hadn’t been the case.
What with him being a junior magic knight that was still getting a feel for his own magic after having had it for about two months, the chances of him surviving a dungeon such as that without aid were slim to none, so them drowning in quicksand was obviously not something he wanted to see happen. So that much was something he could let slide, however, the moment the same guy who made him out to be some kind of psychopath undid all the work he had done by shining a bright light and alarming every hostile creature in the neighborhood to their position, that was where his survival instincts and common sense overruled his sense of duty, causing him to walk out on the mission and leave the remaining three to handle it without him. At the end of the day, everyone had to weigh these kinds of decisions for themselves, and for Griswold, continuing that mess was out of the question.
“It’s a good thing you did, or those cubs would have likely gotten you all killed with their antics. But enough about that, I want to get a good taste of what this place has in store before I have to head back out again. Business is booming after all, even with so many of you magic knights around.”
Loosely mentioning the fact that he was no longer a magic knight at this point in time but actually a mercenary that saw to the needs of the downtrodden for little to no actual earnings at all, it was quite strange that there were so many help wanted signs posted on notice boards in the region. People going missing in the coves without a trace, likely due to all of the prints left on the beach getting washed away by the tides. With so many knights in one place, one would imagine that the problem would have been handled already, or that someone would have at the very least be more careful, maybe postponing their illegal activities until the place settled down a bit more. But no, it seemed that whoever was responsible for all of these things going on, they did not care one bit about the presence of so many of the country’s loyal protectors being around.
This made them either really stupid and careless, or powerful to the point where they couldn’t be bothered. Regardless of which of these two might have been the case, it made them dangerous, particularly towards those that they had taken. Once he had gotten some food and some much needed rest, he would personally see to the issue at hand. But for now, it could stand to wait a little bit longer.
[attr=class, cyrustext]Cyrus waved to the man running an art stall after being thanked for returning his money; apparently the man who had nearly bumped into him had been posing as him while he went to get something and taken the payment from a customer. Even as the artist went back to work, the man who had nearly gotten away from with his profits was being restrained by Magdalene. Despite her being noticeably smaller than him, he was completely unable to free himself from her grip; she was deceptively powerful in spite of her thin frame.
"It really is a shame that some folks cannot simply enjoy festivals such as these in the same way as everybody else." Cyrus noted with a heavy sigh out of a mixture of both sadness and disappointment. Here he was trying to teach Magdalene about the more enjoyable facets of life beyond the walls of the old bunker where he had found her, only to have that effort wasted by some haphazardly thrown together get rich quick scheme. Still, a glance at the girl herself told him that she was at least not too disappointed; in fact, she seemed rather focused on making sure that the perp was secured; she wasn't even reacting to all the noise around her anymore.
Cyrus considered this. While it was true that it wasn't exactly how he had wanted to go about it, in a way, she was at least becoming a little bit more comfortable around crowds. So that was progress, right? Baby steps, and all that jazz. The thought made him smile slightly. "Well, we wouldn't want to make too much of a scene. Maggie, I think that he's learned his lesson well enough. Let him go, and let's head on home. I'll whip up some dinner and show you around the kitchen." He said, the girl releasing her quarry the moment he had asked her to and nodding. The man ran off, away from all of the stalls, leaving the two as alone as they could be in the huge crowd. But they wouldn't be there for much longer, as they turned to head back to the Elwood Estate.

[attr="class","silasreescroll"]Taiyo had been sitting down considering going to the festival that was being held in Hapshass. Only problem was, he was feeling a bit under the weather. As a person who enjoyed festivals and summer time this made him feel saddened that he couldn’t go out and enjoy the day. Even so, he would be pretty okay with missing out in order to recover and keep others safe. In the meanwhile, he looked up at the ceiling from his bed.

Lucia Mavis, servant of House Vermillion and personal aide to Taiyo Vermillion - the heir of the family. She knew that he wasn’t well and though she tried to keep his spirits up about it, she found that he would smile but he was still sort of sad since he couldn’t go to the festival. She figured that she could go in his place. After all, he was always the one going out and bringing her back souvenirs. She opened a portal and stepped through it and walked around, looking for stuff to bring back from Hapshass’ Summer Festival. She didn’t want to walk around mindlessly so she looked around for what things he would like. She grabbed a few things and purchased them. After getting stuff, she opened a portal and went back to the estate. She walked into his room after knocking. ”Hey, I got you some souvenirs from the festival since I know you couldn’t go.” He smiled at her. Thank you, Lucia. You didn’t need to. She smiled. ”I know but I wanted to. You do it for me all the time so now it’s my turn. Anyway, I will let you rest. Feel better soon, Taiyo.” She left the room, leaving him to look through the souvenirs.
