Recently, people having been hearing strange music coming from the cliffs near Hapshass's shoreline, which has drawn in those that were either really drunk or really curious. It goes without saying that none of these people have made it back, leaving the civilians to wonder as to what might have happened, in turn leading relatives and friends to go out and search for them. When they also did not return, those that remained asked for help in figuring out what has happened and then dealing with this problem.

Blue skies ahead Ivy kept her gaze forward as she stood on her broom mid -air as she tasted the gusts of wind carrying a bit of seawater through the air, it was both s comfort and and a sign that she was approaching Hapshass, she hadn't done much exploring around Hapshass shoreline but apparently the civilians are spooked because they keep hearing strange music coming from the cliffs around the shoreline. Of course that alone wasn't the issue but rather the blindly curious who wandered off to go investigate and find the source of the music hadn't returned, magnifying the fears and worries for the lost loved ones. This was quite the situation!
Captain sent her on this mission specially so she had to find out what was going on and then find the civilians and end this mess before it got any bigger. Putting more Mana into her broom Ivy soared through the air faster approaching the village by the shorelines, seeing the rumored cliffs in the distance. Looking around at the civilians that hadn't gone missing she could feel a fog most heavy lingering over the town, a child biting into a crisp apple that was in front of them, the apple so hard that his tooth broke off and was stuck inside of the apple. Deciding to land next to the child Ivy reached into her bag bringing out a napkin, "Hey, come here please" Ivy asked nicely waiting for the kid to come to her as she pressed the napkin into the spot his tooth was missing to stop the blood from leaking all over him and causing a panic attack. "Press this into your mouth and be a brave boy!" She had questions but the kid was not the one she asked, letting the little boy cry. Ivy continued up the street, what kids remained apparently grouped up as she came upon some houses, a good portion empty spelling that entire families have disappeared while those that left held trinkets of someone they loved wallowing in anxiety and fear. This is tragic..Ivy whispered to herself as she approached a tavern, stepping onto the wooden stairs that creaked underneath her weight as she put her hand forward pushing the tavern door only to see to her surprise, a mixture of adults and underaged children cleaning the establishment and handing out drinks to travelers or people with business in Hapshass. Walking to the bar counter Ivy sat down and would watch as a child used a wooden step to get over the counter, "What's your poison?" The child says as if he had done this his whole life , face devoid of the child like freedom she was used to seeing.
Putting down a decent amount of Yul, about enough for a pint Ivy had some questions and she figured a child taking care of a business would appreciate the funds, as sad as that made Ivy to think. "Can you tell me what happened here? I'm from the Magic Knights and came to help." Ivy reasoned only for a kid to see her Black Bull mantle and let off a small scoff, Ivy was getting pretty used to the whole reputation thing around Black Bulls so she ignored that part. Scraping the coin Into the bag the kid poured a cheap drink as he talked , "People are missing..my family, other families..that damn song near the cliff shorelines..it feels like a bloody curse. People go after it and they disappear, now a good quarter of the actual village population is missing. People were sent after them but nobody comes back..not even my papa.." the kid trailed off, "Enjoy your drink and stay in Hapshass, I hope you really can bring my father back." The kid said, hopping off to serve another customer leaving Ivy with her information and drink.

[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia was currently on her way to the town of Hasphass. There had been a lot of reports of some strange music coming from the cliffs by the shoreline. To make matters worse those who went to find out what the music was didn't return nor were any bodies found. This lead to more people going looking for their friends and loves ones. They of course didn't return as well. This was a huge problem and as such the magic knights were sending people out on missions to find out exactly what was going on. The former vice-captain was picked as one of the mages which she didn't have any problems. [break][break] Sure she needed to train her royal knight team for the fight they would eventually have against the deamons. However not only could they train without her for a little bit but she also still had a duty to protect the citizen of clover and as of current, this was the bigger problem. Once Lydia landed in the town she would let the spell allowing her to fly fade away. The town it's was pretty empty which meant that a lot of the town had gone missing in such a short time. Lydia would make her way through the town those that were still around would of course recognize her. Lydia's appearance gave the town hope after all she was what most would consider a living legend as well as one of the strongest mages in clover. She would start making her way to the tavern gathering what information she could from the townspeople which wasn't much that she didn't already know. Other than about a fourth of the town was missing. [break][break] Lydia would make her way into the tavern to wait for the black bull mage she was supposed to be working with as well as hopefully more information. However, it seemed that the black bull had beaten her here. Lydia would waste no time walking up to Ivy who was a fellow Ravencrest. It seems like you beat me here Ivy. I'm guessing you already got what information you could from here so why don't you go ahead and fill me in. Once Ivy turned around she would notice it was Lydia at least hopefully she would recognize the head of her family. Otherwise, it would have been awkward. [break][break] Lydia unlike most of the times Ivy would have seen her wasn't wearing her normal outfit. Instead, she was wearing a pair of black shorts that went a little past her upper thighs as well as a redshirt with her mantle resting on top of it. As well as her sword on her side. Even if an outfit like this one Lydia's height of six foot and also pure lean muscle mass gave her quite the intimidating presence.

Listening to the young boy story of what happened in the village leading it up to this state where a child had to work at a bar. Finishing the story the information given was basically the same as what was in the mission details, people going missing, but the boy was able to explain why the population was less than it was when she got the letter, apparently the town people got anxious and went searching and people that went also disappeared, the people sending out diffent parties to search the cliff without knowing the threat. "Thank you...I'll do the best I can to find your father." Ivy said trying to give the boy some hope as he walked off, the boy stopping for a moment to glance at her from a side, nodding and then walking behind the counter to attend to what little other clientele remained.
Sitting down Ivy thought about the information, from what it sounded like the villagers weren't exactly being put under a spell but rather raw curiosity lead them to go to the cliffs? Ivy was sure it had to be some type of magic imbedded within the music to make anyone who listens to towards it. Ivy wondered if the villagers that already went missing were lead off the cliff or captured? She didn't really have enough information to go on anything which was frustrating.
Sipping her drink and thinking about how to proceed she could hear the door open, looking back she wondered if the person that showed up could give her more information than what the boy could provide, but looking up Ivy eyes widened and she almost dropped her drink as Lydia , head of the Ravencrest family appeared before her. Placing both hands around her cup Ivy noticed Lydia was in rather normal clothing, the only other times she saw her she was wearing royal attire. "Yes..Head Patriarch." Ivy said thinking about how to address Lydia. "It seems within the shade of the trees near the cliffs, music plays at the dead of night, a tune that captivates the villagers enough to seek it out. Parties were made to go search for the music but people who did, haven't come back. Then parties began looking for the missing parties and now the village is in this state of affair. " Ivy said leaning her drink in the direction of the young boy using a step ladder just to put a glass on top of a shelf, almost falling to do so.
Taking another sip, "I have concluded that the music might be enchanted by someone grimoire, probably someone that specialize in trap magic and has a music type grimoire." Ivy theorized but it was clear she was just grasping at what little information she had. "Head Patriarch, perhaps with your assistance we could get to the heart of this situation by following a group of villagers, block our ears just in case and follow them, would that be the quickest way to find the problem?" Ivy asked looking at Lydia in the eye.
[attr="class","florencetext"] The former vice-captain was a little caught off guard by how Ivy addressed her. Sure Lydia used to formal titles like Lady and Queen but she'd never had anyone call her Head Patriarch even if she was the head of the Ravencrest family. The light mage would listen as the younger Ravencrest started to fill Lydia in on what she had already learned which was nearly the same as what the pink-haired mage had found out. I see so we really don't have a whole lot to work with. The black bull would then go on to give her own thoughts on what the sound was before asking Lydia to help and even giving her own plan. Well first you can just call me Lydia. As for your thought on what type of magic it could be. It's more likely an illusion rather than a trap-type spell. [break][break] I have also already been sent here to help with the problem. As for the plan you suggested I don't think that's great. As we know the sound only happens at night which means they only cast the illusion at night. Even if we plugged our ears there is a good chance it will still affect you while I'd be able to see past thanks to my skill with sensory magic. Not to mention if a fight breaks out the citizens we followed will be in the line of fire. I think the better plan of attack would be to head out to the cliff now and see if we can find a hideout or something. How does that sound to you? [break][break] Assuming the other mage Lydia would lead them to the cliff by the shore. the former vice-captain would then use her sensory to try and sense anyone or anything. After a little while, Lydia would pick up faint mana traces by the shore. As her gaze scanned the shore she would spot a small opening that was easy to miss but thanks to Lydia's enhanced sight she managed to pick up on it. Ivy follow me I think I found what we're looking for. She would then lead the other Ravencrest to the cave before the two of them entered inside. It was huge so they managed to run into the townspeople and those that had taken them. Which looked like they were half serpents. Ivy you free the townspeople I'd handle these guys.

She didn't hear about any other magic knights joining this mission but she wouldn't be surprised if they did. However seeing Lydia the head of the family, a revered and powerful magic knight attend this mission made her wonder if the top level of the organization was thinking this was worthy of her attention. Shocked but realizing the need to share information, Ivy told Lydia what she learned which was next to nothing, Lydia saying the very thing she was thinking out loud prompting a soft breath to escape her lips in her disappointment as she put the tea she was enjoying down.
"No we don't."
With the clear lack of information Ivy started trying to put any small hints she found within the situation to piece it together, trying to decide a course of action to take involving using the citizens as bait as they were lured out by the music. Before addressing her plan Lydia made it clear Ivy was permitted to just call her that , immediately switching to her though in the magic and surmised that it wasn't a trap type spell but rather an illusion.
Ivy never would have thought about that. Listening now clearly engaged Lydia said she was already here to help so Ivy didn't basically need to ask. Lydia denied her plan but hearing her logic Ivy bit her lip as her plan was truly horrible, if her assumption was correct the people she used as bait would be trapped and even herself, Lydia mentioned she would be okay but if a fight were to break out herself and the civilians would be in danger.
With the logic presented to her, Lydia suggested a new plan, a far less dangerous one. Since the music played at night, they were to go to the location of the music now and maybe they could find out what happened to the villagers. "Your plan is more solid, He- Lydia. I'll follow your lead!"
Following Lydia to the cliffs by the shore, walking for a bit they didn't find anything at first which wasn't great for Ivy hope, but then walking closer to the shore they finally found what they were looking for, or to be more specific Lydia did. Continuing to follow her she led them to what she believes to be just some shallow hole, but to her surprise they slipped inside and within was a huge cave that Ivy wouldn't have guessed was here without Lydia spotting it. With the cave being suspicious, it was a given they finally ran into the culprits, a group of half serpent men. Ivy however paid no mind as Lydia told her to free the people as she took care of the hostile creatures.
Just as she ordered, Ivy quickly got to work on trying to free the civilians, for some reason the people had been bound on top of cage, for what purpose she did not know but counting the number of people there was no way this was all of them nor did she want to imagine the possible fate of the others, a quick scan of the room and Ivy found no traces of blood, nothing that looked fresh enough to fit the time frame.
Although the situation wasn't ideal, the fact the people was alive and no fresh traces of blood was present gave her the suspicion that the others had been moved and they had a purpose for these people. "Lady Lydia, please leave two so we can question them, this is not all the towns people..judging by the area they haven't killed anyone so we might be able to find the rest if you can make them talk." she urged as she searched the room for any keys to unlock the cages, I'd not she was going to have to do it the hard way.
Grimoire flipping open , Ivy hands began to brown as scales pushed over her skin, nails extending and hardening into claws, Ivy quickly began clawing at the locks of each cage in ntil each one was open as Lydia did the actual fighting.

[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia would quickly count of seven serpent-looking mana beasts or perhaps they were something else she couldn't really tell. She also wasn't an expert in what all mana beasts existed in the world. They all seemed pretty weak then again most things when compared to the light mage were weak which was good for the kingdom. One of the seven did seem stronger than the rest which if the former vice-captain had to guess that meant it was the leader. She was also able to tell before Ivy even told her that more than a few of the townspeople were missing. While she didn't think they needed to keep to alive it seemed the younger Ravencrest wanted to keep to alive for now anyway which Lydia didn't have a problem with. Yeah I got it. [break][break] As the leader of the creatures gave the order to attack Lydia would open her grimoire wasting no time casting a spell. Light Magic: Caladbolg The first Serpent Slaver would run past Lydia trying to stop Ivy from freeing the townspeople. However, he didn't make it far as the former vice-captain would waste no time throwing the light sword at him impaling him through the chest, and killing him on the spot. The next one would try and hit Lydia with its polearm and while they did move faster than your average mage it wasn't even close to as fast as Lydia could move so she easily dodged the attack. She would then grab the polearm using her own strength to snap it in half. She would then stab the broken half she still had into its eye before crushing its throat and killing it as it screamed out in pain. The third Serpent Slaver would manage to hit Lydia once with its own weapon which in all reality didn't even put a dent in her mana skin. [break][break] Before it was able to strike again Lydia would call her light sword back to her hand cutting the weapon the slaver was trying to use in half before cutting the Serpent Slaver in half it's. The next two would then try and attack Lydia at the same time. The former vice-captain however would sidestep the first attack throwing her sword into its chest killing it. She would then catch the polearm from the next one using it to pull the fifth one to her before punching it in the head shattering part of its skull and killing it. Before the last Serpent Slaver and Serpent Slavemaster could make a move to attack her Lydia would call her first light sword back to her before using her control to make a second one. She would then throw a sword at each of them striking them in the shoulders and pinning them to the cave wall. Well seeing as you are the only two left why don't you tell us where the rest of the townspeople you took are. If you do I might even let you live.

Clawing the cages open didn't take long at all, the metal was a bit rusted from what looked like water dripping from the cave ciellinf making it easier for her to tear through. In about the same length of time it took her to open the cages Lydia had also finished off most of the slavers, the place riddled with blood making a very hard scene to see.
Continuing to free the caught civilians she was keenly listening into the conversation Lydia had a with the last two survivors, "Mersssssy!" One of the hybrid serpent people said raising their free hands and letting go of any resistance, the second following the movements as they surrendered and groaned from the pain of a sword impaling their shoulders.
"The rest of your people aren't here! This is just the slave transition station..!" The second serpent spat out quickly, "He's not lying, please have merssy! North..the North! There is a bigger camp north of here that we sent some of your people too, run by the "Sea Witch"!
Freeing the last of the people Ivy joined the conversation, without mercy for slavers Ivy walked up to one of the serpent people using her foot to wiggle the blade around inside, "Any defenses?" The serpent Ivy was playing with screamed in pain as they convulsed in pain, "The camp is surrounded by ship wreckage that washed up on shore, the camp is blocked off from all sides!" The other serpent spat in fear of Ivy doing the same to him.
"Thank you" Ivy said stopping and backing off, leaving Lydia to decide their fates. Escorting the villagers out of the cave to not watch whatever she was about to do Ivy would position outside showing the wave back to the village. Once Lydia came back out Ivy looked her way, "Do you believe what they said? Should we investigate by going north?
Whatever Lydia chose to do Ivy would ask for some time to prepare herself, Lydia had done most of the work but she wanted to be useful next time.
