It had been a hard week of toiling, but Koji had finally accrued enough money to go into a town and have a relaxing afternoon. When he was working for the huntsman so long ago he wasn’t able to visit places and find new things to enjoy, so when he stumbled across Hapsass a month ago he made a mental note to come back here someday. It wasn’t so spectacular that it would blow the socks off of anyone who wandered through, but it was special enough for him. It was a major port town outside of the Forsaken region, and that's reason enough for the boy. His first priority was to get his clothes tailored, as the jacket he had been wearing for some time now had sustained a considerable number of nicks and tears throughout his adventure.
When he got there, however, getting his clothes taken care of took more money than he anticipated, perhaps they overcharged him because he looked like an easy target. Well, he probably was, but that still wasn’t fair! He walked around miffed for a while, thinking about what options he had left with the rest of his yul, racking his mind for something modest and not too costly. Chances are that whatever it was would be his last little bit of fun for a while. He was lucky that he didn’t rely on this stuff to keep himself fed, otherwise, he’d be in a lot of trouble. That’s it, he could get some food. Not just any food either, fish was abundant here, and he had nary eaten fish in his entire life.
Wandering down to the riverside marketplace, he happened upon several stalls of food that all looked so enticing. He could for the life of him recognize anything they were selling, so he went for the most outlandish thing he could find. He found a woman selling cut fish on a skewer layered with vegetables. The whole thing was grilled in front of her, she seemed to be using her magic to give everything a pretty crisp before she handed them off to her customers. The smell of it was very alluring, he just had to investigate. He waited for the queue in front of her to disperse before he stood on his toes to try and look over the counter and ask for some food.
She was very courteous with Koji, and after the exchange, he walked away with three of the skewers for himself, one in each hand and the last in his mouth. He happily retreated towards the city center where he could take a seat on the ground in view of other people while he ate his food. He tried his hardest not to look ridiculous, but crying tears of joy, while he ate, wasn’t exactly a common sight for anyone. It was good, and probably the best he’d be eating for a long while.

❝My light [break]is brighter [break]than the sun!❞
[attr="class","echotemp] Echo walked through the streets of Hapshass alone by himself, as he was doing some self reflecting upon himself. As he walked through the streets he would take notice of a rather short boy, that peeked his interest. Sure Echo was no stranger to short people however this male was short beyond belief, as he had to be 4 feet or less. He watched as the boy walked towards the center of town and eating on meat skewers. Echo thought such a boy would be fun to use for his new found joy for breaking the minds of young teens. [break][break] Echo would follow behind the boy for a short time, as he would make up his mind on if he wanted to enact his plan. After only a few steps behind him he decided to go through with it, but now he had to decide on how exactly he would go about his plan. Thinking that the best way to lure this boy into a trap in broad day would be to have him go willingly limited his options. So Echo thought it would be best to try and convince him to go somewhere secluded off and away from the public eye. [break][break] In truth the red head was rather nervous but having a nice toy to play with and torture for the night sounded like fun, and above all else if he did kill the boy he could always use his body as a sort of challenge letter to the magic knights. Only time would tell what Echo would do once he had the boy in his grasp, but right now he had to focus on still getting him. And so he would make his approach slowly from behind, where he would reach him within a few short seconds. [break][break] Once Echo was directly behind the man he could see just how short he truly was, as Echo towered over the male. He thought to himself for a moment *Damn this kid is short… This is gonna be fun and easy!* He would then make himself known if he wasn’t already by saying “Umm pardon me down there… can I have a moment of your time?” Talking directly to the short male in front of him. He would then stop and stand there as he waited for a reply from the munchkin.
Koji was so enthralled by his meal that he hardly noticed that he was being watched from afar, let alone followed through the streets of Hapshass by a stranger. He took another delicious bite of the fish kebab that he landed, relishing in the flavors as his little moment of bliss was interrupted by someone. He looked up to see the red-haired teen standing in front of him and stared at him wide-eyed, aimlessly chewing his food.
“Oh… um, hello,” he said, unsure of how to really address him. People typically never approached him like this, only making comments about him from a distance like his appearance and how dirty he was. It was welcome to not be treated like a ghost for once, but also very strange. “A moment of my time?” He couldn’t fathom what anyone would actually want from him, but what harm would there be in humoring the idea? “Um… sure? I suppose.” He sat there patiently, as he finished the last bit of his meal. He didn’t know what to expect, maybe a bit of a lecture? He was going to stay seated for a while but eventually, he began to realize that might’ve been a bit inappropriate and stood up for them.

❝My light [break]is brighter [break]than the sun!❞
[attr="class","echotemp] After Echo had approached the boy, it was clear that the boy was very confused and maybe put back a little by the approach. It mattered not to Echo and so once it was clear he had the boy’s attention he would carry on with his plan. Echo looked the boy up and down but in a way where he wouldn’t be able to tell. The boy seemed less than fortunate judging by his attire and how he acted, this added an angle for Echo to take advantage of. [break][break] Echo would give the boy a smile once he stood up and said “Sorry to interrupt your meal but my name is Edward Silverlake, and I wanted to offer you a hot meal and a place to stay tonight… judging from your clothes I figured you may need a bit of help. So what do you say?” Echo would wait for the boy’s response patiently as he looked him over. He took care not to reveal his real name to the boy at least not yet, on the off chance something with his plan went wrong. [break][break] As the two spoke it would seem that the small back street they were on would slowly but surely clearing out. The few people who walked this path would decrease more and more as the boys spoke, until it would be left empty besides them. It was at this time Echo would take it upon himself to strike. “Excuse me but I no longer have time for pleasantries, you will be coming with me and cannot object in the matter. You shall become my play thing haha.” The red head would then begin to speak out loud to himself saying “Oh how shall I make his body into a message for those magic knights. So many things I could do…”
