With the coming of Spring, many hidden gateways open up, connecting the worlds of the fae with out own. As many tricksters would seek to cross over to cause all sorts of trouble and mayhem, there are also those who wish to see this world with their own eyes. As these fae often take on the appearance of human children with animalistic traits such as antlers, a bird-beak, a canine nose or other such things, they are often easily picked out of a crowd. With most not knowing our human customs, it is up to you to meet up with these troublemakers and teach them how things are done in the land of Clover.

Through rumors and tales more than likely larger than the idea they appropriated, Yu-Jie had learned of these otherworldly children and how they started to show up out the blue. The nearby townsfolk had simply referred to them as children of the forest due to the animalistic quirks they possessed. Having had some interest in the children and whether they were tourists from beyond space-time; or some sort of magic aberrant. To this end, Yu-Jie had traveled far to sate her curiosity that overflowed like a full cup of wine being poured. As a member of the Zhongli family, the rogue had learned a great deal about how to get around without drawing attention to herself. The rain that poured not too long ago finally subsided; the ground was wet and soft-slick with precipitation as Yu-Jie ambled into the quaint town of Nairn.

Footprint tracks would be left in the mud path as Yu-Jie was following the main pathway as she removed the rustic, brown hood from her head. Curly, sea green curls would bounce once freed and Yu-Jie would survey the area. Far off she could see a very large church. For the most part, the town of Nairn seemed normal enough, it wasn't as fancy as the noble region, yet it was well enough off to be one of the better towns within the common region. Because of the dreary overcast, there weren't many folks outside, leaving the town to look slightly abandoned, but if she looked closely enough she would notice a few individuals going about their day-to-day. None of them were of particular note and as she gave them a brief cursory glance, the girl could not discern any tell-tale signs of those people being possible Fae.

"Place looks normal enough. Nothing out of the ordinary."

Yu-Jie would think as she turned right and headed to the Townsquare. The rogue figured that there should be minor traffic there, even if the day was not the prettiest. Still, though it was her first time visiting Nairn, so she found herself somewhat lost as she ambled aimlessly without certainty. It took a brief while, but Yu-Jie would make it to the town square and see the rows of merchant stalls that were still operating despite the rain. It did slow to the point of no longer raining, but Yu-Jie was pleasantly surprised to see the hustle and bustle of the area. There were plenty enough people. Enough so that the girl would have to move in between the busybodies. Casually as she walked past a fruit stand she would dexterously pilfer an apple. Retracting her arm into her worn, travel cloak, Yu-Jie continued pressing on, her heist unnoticed due to how quick she was.

The stolen apple would be produced for her cloak and then inspected before she took a bite, but as she crunched into the saccharine apple the gravity mage's eyes would trail to the corner right. They met the intensely focused gaze of a young, antlered boy who peered from the nearby alley. He appeared hungry and at his wit's end, but once he realized that Yu-Jie had seen him he darted back behind the alley, vanishing from view. Well I'll be... Yu-Jie mused as she took a subsequent bite from the juicily ripe apple. Having seen it first hand, Yu-Jie had been made a believer. At the very least the story of animal children had proven to be true, but now the gravity mage would have to play a bit of hide and seek to get to the origin of their genesis.

"One, two, I'm coming for you!"

Yu-Jie whispered beneath her breath as she took to the alley in pursuit of her query.
