Be warned, while the bandits are a motley crew, they will do their best to escape, by any means possible. [attr="class","augusttext"] Things had taken a strange turn, but this turn was not a bad one. [break][break] The day was just starting and Asahi would wake up in a very different location than usual. What was this strange place one might ask, and the answer was the base of the Black Bulls. Asahi had recently joined the magic knights out of many needs, the main one of those being information. With him being a magic knight he could potentially find and gain access to more information to help him in finding his family. The other reason he had decided to join was for the money, something he needed simply to survive and stay afloat. Although his job as a sword instructor was doing fairly decent, it surely wasn’t enough to sustain a good living. The best part of becoming a magic knight for Asahi so far wasn’t the money or the potential to find his family, as of right now the best thing was actually having a reliable place to call home every night. [break][break] As the young man got out of his new bed within his new room he would let out a loud yawn before making his way to his feet. After getting up he would prepare for the day by going to the bathroom to freshen up, followed by getting dressed. As he got dressed he would grab the last article of clothing to put on, which was his new magic knight mantle. Asahi would look at the mantle as he held it in his hands, letting out a deep sigh before placing it on around his neck. Once his mantle was on he would head out of his room and head down the stairs towards the mission board for the squad. [break][break] Before he would look over the board he would go over to the kitchen right in the next room. In the kitchen he would walk over and make a cup of tea before he would head back to the board. Once at the board he would look over the available missions and thought it best that his first official mission as a black bull be an easy one. He needed to leave a good impression as he wanted to try and make his way up the ranks quickly, a task that would be easy seeing as the Black Bulls at recently come into a slightly sad state. Not many members seemingly remained except for the captain of course and a few other junior ranked knights. [break][break] After looking at each mission and reading the details he had chosen a simply patrol mission. The job was easy enough simply walk around and patrol, an easy and effective way to deter and stop crime. Asahi would yank the paper off of the board before he would gulp down the remainder of his tea. Placing down his cup on a nearby table he would head out the door and begin to make his way to Kikka. [break][break] Kikka wasn’t too far away from the black bulls hq but it also wasn’t close, as the town was located in the nearby common region. It was very early in the day probably only about a little after 6 a.m. so he had plenty of time to get there and start his patrol by 9 a.m. As the swordsman walked he would think to himself *As soon as I get a paycheck I am buying a broom or something. Walking everywhere is getting out of hand…* After his walk was over and he had finally made it to Kikka, he would immediately go to the local knight post station to check in and let him know he was starting his patrol. [break][break] He began his patrol on the north side of the town, with his intent to circle around it in a clockwise route. At the start of his patrol he would walk the streets waving at most people or giving off a smile as he passed. A few people would stop to talk to him here and there as he was a new face to the patrol of this area, and everyone he met seemed to like him a bit. [break][break] After a few minutes he would find himself in the shopping district where majority of the shops in town were located. As he walked the streets everything had seemed normal until suddenly he would hear a scream. After hearing the scream Asahi’s eyes would grow wide as he would rush towards the sound of disturbance. When he arrived he would see 4 men in the act of attacking a shop owner and his wife, in an attempt to steal some of their product. One of the men would notice Asahi before saying “Oh crap! Hey boys we got company, this magic knight came to stop us.” Asahi would grin before saying “Im not a fan of criminals, however such petty theft I may be able to excuse. All you gentleman have to do is drop everything that doesn’t belong to you, apologize to these kind people, and go on about your day.” He kept a smile as he said this as he hoped he could get the matter resolved peacefully. He would look over towards the shopkeeper and his wife to ensure they were physically unharmed, and as he did so the men would all draw their attention to him. [break][break] One of the men attempting the robbery would speak up saying “Nah kid no chance. Lets get him boys!” Asahi would then reach his hand towards his back as if he was attempting to grab a weapon, and as he did so he would say “Dark Shadow” and right in the opening where his hand was, a blade would appear on his back and he would quickly grab it and enter a battle ready stance. The 4 men would charge at him with the first about to use what appeared to be a fire spell, however before he could fully activate the spell Asahi would stab him in the leg with his sword. The man would fall to the ground immediately as he 3 partners also prepared to launch attacks in tandem with each other. [break][break] Spells comprised of water, earth, and wind were now flying in Asahi’s direction and he would counter with a spell of his own. Running his hand across the edge of the blade the shadows would engulf it as Asahi would take a deep breathe. “Shadow Style: Heaven Piercing Strike!” As the swordsman said this he would swing his blade and the shadows engulfing it would fly out and move to collide with the on coming spells. When the 4 spells collided all were dissipated and created a big blast along with a cloud of smoke. Using the smoke as cover Asahi would charge forward and begin to stab each of the bandits in the leg to render them incapacitated. [break][break] Once all the bandits were down for the count Asahi would rush over to the women and her husband and say “I hope you are both ok and unharmed, I apologize for any damage I may have caused to your shop.” The woman was still visibly shaken and didn’t seem to chatty at the moment, however her husband would grab Asahi by the hand and begin to soak it vigorously. “Its quite alright young man I will have this cleaned up in no time. I much rather thank you for saving me, my wife, and our shop. May the spirits bless your soul young man and thank you so much.” Asahi would smile before saying “Its no problem as a magic knight its my duty to serve the citizens of this kingdom and keep you safe. I’ll be going to transport these guys now, you two be safe and have a nice day.” [break][break] Asahi would then begin to gather up the four men and tying them up. After all the men were tied up he would hurry up and run to get some help transporting them to the nearby jail. He ran back to the guard station and informed the head of the town watch. He would explain the situation to the much older man who would place a hand on Asahi’s shoulder before releasing a grin and saying “I understand good job young knight. Have no worries you go ahead and take a break for now. I will send out a wagon to go and collect those guys immediately.” Asahi would bow before saying to the watch captain “Thank you sir, im glad I could be of assistance.” And with those words he would excuse himself to go and take his ‘break’, however someone like Asahi didn’t take breaks he much rather continue on until the job is done and over with. And so he would instead head back to where he captured the bandits who to his surprise were all still tied and out for the count, and he would watch over them until the wagon came to collect them. After all the bandits were loaded on the wagon and on their way to jail he would simply carry on with his patrol for the rest of the day.
