RANK: Intermediate LOCATION: Kiten MIN-MAX PLAYER GROUP: 2-4 OTHER REQS: - - -
No-one above Intermediate may enter
Sword of Heroes Legend has it that there is a legendary sword deep within a newly formed catacomb in the common region. Many adventures, traders and warriors have entered this new dungeon. But none have returned now placing a sense of unease throughout the region. Now local town folk are calling for truly strong mages and warriors to venture into this place and find out if the rumours are real or are just all lies.
[attr="class","dungenfloor"]FLOOR #1
NUMBER OF ROOMS: 2 WORD COUNT PER ROOM: 1,500 FLOOR DESCRIPTION:
The first floor is the entrance itself. At least when the first bit of danger makes itself known. Upon reaching the entrance of the catacombs. It is surrounded by trees and wildlife that could be hiding things. The door of the catacombs is very large and easy to see, not only that but it draws attention to itself. Those that see it are often drawn to it and filled with a sense of wanting to go inside and explore.
The first enemies that will make themselves as you approach are the goblins. They have set up camps throughout the woods attacking anyone who tries to enter the catacombs. They have no magic but they do use swords, maces, clubs, shields and axes to try and make up for it. Annoying and greedy little things.
The Lost Knights are mysterious beings that make use of shadow magic. They appear out of thin shadows on the ground and on the wall and will attack any intruder in the catacombs. They can only use shadow magic to attack though and have pretty predictable movements. They each make use of a single long sword in combat. Some have theories that the lost knights were once brave knights and heroes that have fallen. They use the magic specializations of attack creation and physical reinforcement.
The Legion Knights are the true guardians of the catacomb's secrets. Powerful warriors that wield large great swords that are bigger than themselves. What they lack in magic they make up for with pure combat ability. Their blistering speed along with fearsome strength is not to be taken lightly at all. Before facing an enemy they stand nobly and they won't attack until the ones that entered are ready. Knights that are honourable to the end despite their current state.

When the ones brave enough to face the catacombs, and find out about the Sword of Heroes. Will be met with a large door fully open but when approaching the door a large group of goblins will attack them from all sides to prevent them from going in and taking whatever treasure may be inside. They will try and ambush you from the forest around the door, but they will start screaming full giving up their element of surprise. They are not the wisest of creatures.
[attr="class","dungenroom"]Room #2
[attr="class","dungenencounters"]ENCOUNTERS:
4 Lost Knights, 2 Legion Knights
After taking out the Greed Goblins and walking into the door, the travellers will be able to venture inside a few meters before spotting a Legion Knight further down the catacombs. But from behind as if they have emerged from the shadows will be the Umbral Knight attacking those who have dared to enter. Only when all the Umbral knights have been defeated will the Legion Knights acknowledge them, and they will attack once they have locked eyes with you.
[attr="class","dungenfloor"]FLOOR #2
NUMBER OF ROOMS: 3 WORD COUNT PER ROOM: 1,500 FLOOR DESCRIPTION:
With the Legion Knights defeated a hidden door located behind them will open up suddenly with a staircase going downstairs. Once down the stairs, the group will enter a very large room with tall statues of armoured warriors, broken-down pillars and intricate wall designs. Light coming from the cracks in the ceilings as well as ghostly blue flames on the candle-lit torches. The group will also hear whispers as if they were coming from ghosts. "Thy art not worthy." followed by "Thy must turn back."
The Blade Stalkers are there looking for the legendary sword or any kind of treasure they can find honestly. They are trespassers and do not respect the sacred ground nor anyone that gets in their way. Any sign of an enemy they attack on sight without warning and without fear. They use fast sword attacks with the mist element to try and hide their movements. They use the magic specializations Attack Creation and Sensory.
The Guardians of the Grave are exactly as their implies they are guardians. Each one wields a massive black sword with extraordinary combat abilities. They have no known element as their pure combat abilities with the massive sword alone more than makes up for it. They are very dangerous foes and will not stop until completely defeated.
Charlemagne Lord of Sword was once a hero that held the legendary sword everyone is after. His power was said to be so great that one swing of his sword could split mountains in half. Sadly though his power is nowhere near this, as this form of Charlemagne is just a walking corpse holding a tattered and broken sword. But he still fights as if he is fighting for something or someone. Charlemagne is a masterful warrior of honour, he will fight to the bitter end with his elegant attacks. His motion is fluid and constant as if every move and strike had been planned ahead. It matches his element of water that he uses to form more blades to attack with and shields to defend. One must do the courtesy of putting Charlemagne out of his misery so he can finally rest. Charlemagne uses the specializations of attack creation, physical reinforcement, defence creation and Sensory.
[attr="class","dungenroom"]Room #1
[attr="class","dungenencounters"]ENCOUNTERS:
x2 Blade Stalkers per player | 1 Blade Stalker hidden at the exit.
The first room has many statues of warriors scattered throughout. But there will be little time to admire the scenery for as soon as the group enters they will be attacked by a number of blade stalkers. They are here to seek out the sword and some treasure and once anyone intrudes on that they will strike without hesitation. A mist will surround the area because of their magic. Once they are defeated the mist will disappear revealing the very elaborate room, and the door forward. But once the group gets close to that door one more Blade Stalker will try and surprise attack whoever is standing closest to the door from up above.
[attr="class","dungenroom"]Room #2
[attr="class","dungenencounters"]ENCOUNTERS:
4 Guardians of the Grave
Once the group passes through the door they will enter a large throne room, with four massive black armours standing in the centre of the room. Each one holding a sword as big as they are in front of them. It is clear they are guarding the way forward, and are pretty good at doing so. As skeletons of people who tried to get past them are littered throughout the room. The odd thing is they will not attack immediately. They will not begin to attack unless one tries to get past them or attacks them first. If one were to unsheathe their weapon, they would begin by bowing first and then attacking. Strange but honourable silent warriors. Protecting their master with everything that they have.
[attr="class","dungenroom"]Room #3
[attr="class","dungenencounters"]ENCOUNTERS:
3+1d4 Monster
With the guardians laid to rest, there is no reason to seek out another room. Cause what they were guarding will begin to show itself. At the end of the room a platform will begin to rise with a shining elaborate sword in a large stone, but once that platform is finished rising an armoured hand in tarnished armour will grab the handle of the shining sword and its real form will be revealed. Just an old rotten tattered sword that is lifted from the stone by Charlemagne who then swings the sword over his shoulder and says.
"I shall defend these lands until the very end. On my honour as a knight until it is either I or my enemy that is laid to rest."
Once he's done he will begin attacking the group with his fluid motions and water spells. Once he is defeated he will take one final breath for now he can finally truly rest.
Those that complete this dungeon gain the NA "Honor of the Sword."
[attr="class","renardreescroll"] With the temperatures rising due to spring and the winter snows melt away, new dungeons across the Clover Kingdom and drawing more and more people towards them. With the rumours reaching all the way to the Royal Capitol, the upper ranks of the Crimson Lions want to have the dungeons explored and secured before any foreign spies or rogues get there hands on what is hidden within them. To that end, Renard was dispatched to the dungeon that had appeared in Kiten, however, due to the lack of available members available within the squad, Renard was sent as the only Magic Knight from the Crimson Lions to explore the dungeon with reassurance that the upper echalons of the squad will try to arrange for a partner to be sent over. The trek to Kiten did not take long and before the sun reached its zenith he landed in the city. Asking around amoung the inhabitants of the area, Renard obtained the exact location of the dungeon and information on some of the teams that had already tempted to enter, ontop of the rumours surrounding the dungeon. Folktales of a legendary sword hidden within, folktales that the young mage dismissed. Yet even he understood that when it comes to people, stories like that work well to get peoples attention.
With the information at hand, Renard mounted the burrowed broom once more and rushed to the edge of the dungeon's dangers. Upon landing, he could not help but notice that he was the only one there. "Hello?" he shout out, hoping that his partner for this mission had arrived and was just staying hidden for their safety. But as his question remained unanswered, he pushed himself to wait, sitting against a tree at the edge of the area. Feeling a mixture of nervousness and boredom as he waited for his partner to arrive.
"Oh Dear, What an interesting rumor among the merchants...Can you imagine the amount of Yul that can be made if the rumors were correct? She asked a near by servant while getting dressed. She had also heard of some others going to assist with these dungeons and boy was she curious of what these dungeons were like as she assumed only magic knights went but it sounded like some citizens were going to see of their own wealth. [break][break] Now Sumire was not crazy about going in a dungeon however she did find it a interesting opportunity to explore clover and all it had to teach her. Her home in the east would be where her heart would forever live, however, she currently resided in clover, She just had to hope that this wasn't going to cause any troubles for herself seeing as the last act of curiosity landed her in very unwanted company of a deranged vermillion psychopath wanting her to be some sort of information broker. She know her family had their own network of communication among their trade routes to getting the merchandise from point A to point B, however he wanted her to get some information on the Ravencrest and their movements along with the movements of the loyalists of his family. [break][break] Sumire sighed informing a servant to send a message to her father on his travels that she would be away on an errand for a day or so. She gave the location and what she was going to bring as it was something she needed to be vague about. However she ensured in her letter that she was not stepping foot in the forsaken reign again nor was she going to be gone for more then a day at most. [break][break] She adjusted her satchel ensuring she had her grimoire and a few other things before taking one of the brooms sitting side saddle allowing the broom to accept her mana, taking off into the sky flying towards Kiten. [break][break] Sumire allowed her thoughts to become lost in the mist of concentration of the past week dealing with a psychotic vermillion all while ensuring the safety of herself and her family. She was thankful for the two imperial princes of the golden dawn and crimson lions that came to her aide and returned her home safely, though she wasn't sure if being saved by such highly viewed and respect family was going to be a blessing or pain. well that was a future her problem. [break][break] She slowly landed her broom sliding off it as she adjusted her skirt and sleeves looking around as she felt her hair ensuring it looked all put together. She turned around spotting one other induvial adorning a crimson lion mantle " Oh. Uh." She said before clearing her throat and nerves. " Hello there, I am Sumire. Are you also here to tend to this dungeon?" she asked curiously hoping this was one of the friendlier of the magic knights also as hoping it was going to be alright to land some assistance for this dungeon and the treasures it holds.
[attr="class","renardreescroll"] As time passed, Renards curiousity and eargerness had caused him to start pacing back and forth from the tree he had started leaning on to the very edge of the area that the locals had indicated. With the consistant movement, the young mage started to mumble to himself: "I can't go alone. Maybe the Captain couldn't find any help? If i go in with my drake, am i technically going in only? Maybe i could just clear the area? Is only the first floor, no harm right?". These mumbles continued to the point that he didn't hear anyone landing and approaching until he heard the voice of a young woman speak up. [break][break] "Finally!" Renard exclained as he started to turn to face the direction the voice came from. "I was starting to worry that..." his voice cut off for just a second as his eyes fell up the individual that spoke. A young woman just slightly older that Renard, but the thing that caught his attention the most was her piercing ocean blue eyes that stunned him for what seemed like a bit too long. He shook his head and cleared his throat, trying to recover from his stupor. "I'm sorry. I seem to have lost my train of thought. Please allow me to restart." he asked as he straightened himself up to face the young woman once more. [break][break] "Greeting! I'm Renard Godspell of the Crimson Lions" he spoke up. "I assume you are the other Magic Knight my captain found to assist me in the exploration of this dungeon?" Has he spoke, Renard tried his best to not look the individual in the eyes, knowing that he might get mesmerised once more and loose his focus and so focused on the rest of the young woman. As he analysed her, he noticed the golden waves of hair and the flawless skin, which lead him to wander if she one nobility or maybe from a wealthy family. Comparitively, he thought, he must look like a dishevelled mess. But as his eyes wondered analytically, he noticed that the young woman wasn't donning a Magic Knight Squad's mantle. "Do not assume Renard" he thought, "Perhaps she isn't wearing one to be incognito". [break][break] With his analysing finished, he took a deep breath and looked the young lady in the eyes, forcing his mind to not loose itself, he spoke. "If you don't mind, would it be ok if i asked for your name?"

[attr="class","augusttext"] “Asahi! Asahi wake up! Wake up you lazy punk!” [BREAK][BREAK] Those are the words Asahi would hear as he awakened from his slumber. The man telling him to wake up was none other than senior magic knight of the black bulls, Elijah Kardune. The man was trying to wake Asahi so that he could send him on a very important mission. Asahi would rise up in his bed rubbing his face and eyes and saying “What’s up Elijah?”. The senior magic knight would begin to yell saying “DID YOU MISS THE NOTE I LEFT FOR YOU!?!? You have a mission to go on… its a emergency call from the crimson lions. Their captain has sent a magic knight to go and check out a dungeon but they were short staffed, so they asked us to send someone. So get your ass up and get a move on, you probably have that other knight out there waiting for you.” Asahi would let out a sigh as he would get up and begin to gather his things. He would pick up his sword and place it securely on his waist, before picking up his magic knight mantle and putting it on. He would look to Elijah and say “You just love picking me for these things huh? Its whatever I’ll be heading out within the next 10 minutes.” Elijah would smile before heading out of the room saying “Best of luck to you on your travels.” [BREAK][BREAK] After heading into the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face, Asahi would head out of the black bulls squad base. He had gotten a very vague location of where he was supposed to go, so once he got to the area he was gone need to figure out where to go from there. As he began to walk he would think to himself as he let out a sigh. *Gah damn I hate all this damn walking I have to do… Im gonna shell out the money for a broom one of these days.* As he walked he ran into a traveling merchant, and after a short conversation he had learned that said merchant knew the exact location of the dungeon. Why would this random merchant know where the dungeon is was a thought in the young swordsman’s mind. However he would learn from the merchant that others had been trying to venture into the dungeon with little to no luck, which is why he knew the location. [BREAK][BREAK] The man was traveling by horse drawn carriage and had offered Asahi a ride to his destination, to which he would graciously accept. He would climb into the carriage and kick back as he let the man drive them to the dungeon. During the trip he would make a makeshift bed Matt out of some of the merchandise the man had in the back of the carriage thinking to himself *Might as well rest up until we get there.* After some time Asahi would hear the man calling out to him. When he got up he would hear the man say “This is as far as I can go. The dungeon is about 5 minutes up that way, I wish you the best of luck.” Asahi would dismount the carriage before saying “Thank you, I appreciate your kindness.” After he was off the carriage the man would pull off, heading off into the distance. Asahi would then begin to make his way up to the dungeon, little did he know he was the last one to arrive to the party. [BREAK][BREAK] Asahi had finally made it up to the dungeon and he would take notice of 2 other people already there. He did his best to stay hidden for the time being as he analyzed the situation in front of him. He looked over the male and female currently present and began to make mental notes about them. *Male. Approximately 15 or 16 in age judging off appearance. Wearing a crimson lions mantle, this must be who I came to assist. Female. Approximately 16 or 17 in age. She looks like a noble of some sort.* After taking his mental notes he would deem the situation safe and decided that he was ok to reveal himself. [BREAK][BREAK] He would approach the duo as they were having a conversation just in time for him to hear the male ask if the female was the night sent to aid him. Asahi would clear his throat during his approach to let them know he was here before saying “She has no mantle good sir, so the answer to your question is a no. No knight on a mission or official business would be caught without their mantle. Luckily for you I am the knight here to assist you. Asahi is the name, swordsmanship is my game!” He would then flash a smile towards the two for just a brief moment before he went back to his stoic face.
Sumire watched the Crimson lion first looking excited for finally having company only to stop at the sight of her/ She was curious what had stopped his words. Was there something on her face? Was he thinking of her as someone else he might have known? She kept her soft smile on her face as she listened before closing her eyes about answering. She felt an additional presence nearby watching from the shadows as she paid them no mind. She wasn’t here to cause harm for anyone nor was she a presence to be feared. She was a simple lesser noble from a decently wealthy and well connected family.
[break][break] She was about to answer his questions as she turned her head towards the voice belonging to the presence she sensed as she nodded in acknowledgement to the sudden appearance of the black bull that made his presence known. She looked him over listening to his explanation as it made since given the blade at his waist. She looked at the differences between them in all aspects knowing how she was going to answer and hopefully be of use to be able to join in on this dungeon.
[break][break] “To answer your question before him answering your second one. I am Honoka, Sumire Honoka. And indeed I am not a magic knight."She said softly adjusting her sleeves in idle thought as she turned to them both “ It is nice to make your acquaintances” She said softly. “I have came to grant my assistance to the magic knights in tending to this dungeon as I can heal among other things if you both will allow me to assist in ensuring this dungeon is tended to." She inquired looking between the both of them
[attr="class","renardreescroll"] Before Renard could get an answer from the young woman, a young blue eyed boy that seemed to be a couple years older than Renard appeared from the shadows, causing some confusion and surprise from the sudden appearence. "A Black Bull? Pleasure to have you join me" Renard spoke up after Sumire introduced herself to the group. "To repeat, my name is Renard. It's good to meet you both." He said with his soft smile and performed the three finger salute. [break][break] "Now to busines!" His express return to a serious, allthough his smile of excitement betrays his attempt to be serious. "First off: Miss Honoka. You are welcome to join us, having someone that heal us along the way. Especially since it looks like the two of us seem to be more combat mages" he said, indicating to the young swordsman, continuing to try and avoid direct eye contact with Sumire to avoid getting stunned again. "Secondly: According to the locals, those that have tried and venture out to the dungeon didn't get far. However those that managed to escape confirmed that one of the creatures are going to be goblins. Despite knowing this, beyond that is a complete unknown." At the mere mention of the unknown brought his excitement to become fully visible on his face. [break][break] It took a second to realise that his expression had changed, Renard took a second to recenter himself and turns his attention back to his newfound companions. "Let's keep our guards up, watch each other's backs and let's be the first ones to conquer this dungeon." Renard spoke before turning towards the dungeon itself. Readying to take his first step within his first dungeon.

[attr="class","augusttext"] Asahi would listen as the crimson lion and the civilian woman spoke. They both would introduce themselves and the woman would make clear her intent for being here. She offered to join the two magic knights in the dungeon to heal them should either of them need medical attention. The crimson lion mage thought the idea to be good, although Asahi would be questioning such a choice. While it was true that having someone to heal the group would be useful, Asahi did not truly believe they should be risking the life of a civilian. [BREAK][BREAK] Looking towards his fellow magic knight Renard he would say “Are you sure that’s such a great idea? A citizen shouldn’t be risking their lives here I don’t believe.” Asahi would sigh internally as he thought for a moment before speaking again. He knew risking a civilian in the dungeon was risky but at the end of the day he knew that it was the woman’s choice. Even if he denied her access to go with him and Renard she would make her way inside by herself or with another group. Asahi would turn to look at the woman before saying “Actually I will retract my comment. You do as you so please citizen. I rather you go inside with us then alone… that way at the very least we can keep you safe.” [BREAK][BREAK] Renard would then go on to say how the combat awaiting them inside of the dungeon was unknown, other than knowing one set of enemies was to be goblins. Asahi would smile as he had just recently had a run in with some goblins on a previous mission, giving him a bit of know how of how to deal with the creatures. With this and judging from the estimated ages of the other two mages present, Asahi had decided that he would take the lead here. Looking at the two he would reply to Renard statement about being the first to clear the dungeon by saying “I agree lets be the first. However to ensure this mission is a success we must capitalize on the weaknesses of the enemies inside but more importantly upon the strengths of this team.” [BREAK][BREAK] His words would trail off a bit as he thought upon the information that he currently had about the dungeon and the people with him. He would look to the group before beginning to speak again saying “I believe it best we proceed in a a line formation, with me in front. Most likely the enemies inside will attack from in front of us as we enter different sections of the dungeon, so me being in front will take advantage of my close combat capabilities. Ms. Honoka should be in the middle, this will provide her ample opportunities to heal us all while staying protected and mostly out of the way of enemies. Finally Renard should go to the rear, which will protect Ms. Honk’s flank and mine.” Asahi would then begin to walk onwards into the dungeon while signaling the two to follow.

Sumire nodded in acknowledgement of both bowing low in greeting " It is a pleasure to meet you both form the magic knights of the black bulls and the crimson lions. It is amazing to see the willingness of squads working together for one goal. "She spoke looking towards them both. She could tell one had roots much like to her home land in the east while the other was much like the other half of her family that held roots in this kingdom. It was amazing to watch two unknown of two different squads come together in ensuring this dungeon was completed as well as even being willing to allow a civilian like her to join in on the dungeon. "I know that bringing on someone such as myself can be dangerous but I am already here and wish to help those who protect this kingdom I currently call home as I want to know all that clover has to better my own knowledge of this world" She said in acknowledgement that it was indeed dangerous for her to be here but her insistence of wishing to join them both.
[break][break] She was sure she would find a way to join the dungeon regardless as she came this far to try something like this out and find more strength to grow and become stronger for her own reasons. She could tell Renard was doing his best to avoid eye contact with her as she raised a sleeve covered hand hiding a silent laugh as she always found it interesting how people acted around her. Her bright sapphire eyes often distract from the rest of her and her blonde form her mother's side complimented her eastern features and customs of her father's side of the family. She restraighten her Hanfu as she listened to both of their information of the dungeon and how they were going to proceed. " I am fine with whatever you both feels best. I can handle whatever you both feel I need to. I do not have many spells but I do know some hand to hand combat to handle myself, so do bare with me as combat isn't the first of my occupations. "She apologized to them both " However I wish to thankyou both for this opportunity to learn more of your fighting styles and how magic knights like yourselves can handle such tasks. Truly it is an honor. "She spoke following foot after Asahi " So shall we begin. I have heard of various treasures inside as well have heard rumors of some of my family's own acquaintances have attempted their hands in this dungeon." She said.
[break][break] She adjusted her satchel behind herself as she fell in line standing near Renard's left but slightly infront as she followed along behind Asahi. Her movements were fluid and without hesitation her her soft blue eyes watched the entrance of the dungeon concerned of what was waiting inside but determined to make it out alive. [break][break]

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝Light as feathers, as fleeting as Zephyr, one moment they breathed gold, the next they faded.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Kenja, a Golden Dawn Magic Knight, received his new mission with a mix of excitement and apprehension. The task at hand was to explore a newly formed catacomb in the common region of Kiten, rumored to house a legendary sword. The lack of any successful return from previous adventurers had left the townspeople uneasy, calling for the aid of powerful mages and warriors. Leaving behind the grandiose city of the Clover Kingdom's capital, where the Golden Dawn Headquarters stood, Kenja embarked on his journey towards the common region of Kiten. Leaving the capital, Kenja ventured into the outskirts, where the signs of civilization gradually gave way to the natural landscape. The road to the common region of Kiten stretched ahead, winding through picturesque meadows and dense forests. As he traveled, Kenja couldn't help but sense the growing unease surrounding the rumors of the treacherous dungeon he was about to face. Days passed as Kenja made his way through various villages and towns, listening to the locals' stories and gathering information about the catacomb. Each tale seemed to add a layer of mystery to the dungeon, heightening his anticipation. The common region of Kiten was known for its massive walls and Kenja was interested in seeing just how massive.
Finally, after a long and arduous journey, Kenja arrived at the outskirts of Kiten. The townsfolk welcomed him, their hopes and expectations pinned on his abilities as a Golden Dawn Magic Knight. The common region itself buzzed with an atmosphere of uncertainty, with merchants and warriors alike discussing the enigmatic catacomb that had gripped the region's attention. Kenja steeled his resolve, fully aware of the risks that lay ahead. Armed with his magic and the knowledge imparted by the senior knight, he prepared to enter the dungeon and uncover the truth behind the legends. His courage was aided by the fact he was meeting three other magic knights but he knew not who he was meeting. It was then that he saw a familiar face, Asahi but he did not recognize the other two.
"Hello, I'm Kenja," he introduced himself stoically. "It's a pleasure to meet both of you the two of you I haven't met before and I'm honored to be a part of this esteemed mission." Even if he was stoic and calm, he spoke politely as possible. "Ah, Asahi!" Kenja greeted him with a hint of excitement. "It's good to see you again. I've been eager to witness your new spell in action. I hope we'll have the chance to train together and learn from each other once more."
One thing Kenja would note is one of the three was not wearing a magic knight mantle. He wondered if she was not a magic knight at all.
[attr="class","renardreescroll"] Agreeing with the Black Bull boy, Renard got into position flanking Sumire right. "Might i suggest that we stay within 5 metres from one another while trekking. Should danger arise we would want to reach each other quick..." Before he can finish his sentence, a young golden haired boy donning a Golden Dawn mantle who identified himself along with naming the black haired Black Bull boy. "So they know each other" Renard thought as he observed the newcomer with an analytical eye. "Welcome aboard Kenja. Take up whatever position you are more comfortable with, but stay close." Said the young mage with a soft smile as he and the ragtag group of mages from various backgrounds and factions make their way into the wood that hold the newly emerged dungeon. [break][break] Floor 1; Room 1 [break][break] As the newly formed team trekked through the dungeon grounds only the sun's light that streamed throught the canapee illuminated the path ahead. With his grimoire at the ready, Renard couldn't help but notice that, although the area would make a decent place for a leisurely stroll, the young shadow mage couldn't help but notice that the woods were far too quiet. Not a cricket's chirp nor bird's song. "Something is amist. Keep your eyes open." He warned his companions while trying his best to sense the mana of the creatures surrounding them. Sensing mana around him was never his strongest ability which he associated with the inability to sense any dangers nearby. The silence was broken for but a second as Renard heard rustling coming from above the group, causing the young man to look up at the trees. Before he could get a good glance at what had cause the silence to be broken, a scream from the goblins hidden among the branches rang out as they dropped upon the adventuring mages. "Above us!" let out a shout in warning as he drops to one knee and casts a spell. "Shadow Spears! Come forth!" As soon as he called upon his spell, the boy's shadow rapidly spread across 20 metre around the teens. As the jet black spears rose from the shadows, the goblins reacted quickly to dodge out of the away. As the little green creatures surround the party, Renard quick cast another spell. "Shadow Step!" he called out, letting his shadow curl around his calfs. Quickly rising to his feet, he barely at time to grab the spear that had formed infront of him as one of the creatures rushed towards him from his rear. Having noticed the attacker's approach, Renard spun around and used the momentum to strike the goblin square in the jaw, sending it flying towards one of a nearby trees. [break][break] As soon as his attacker was dealt with, Renard turned to quickly check on his team to see if they are handling themselves.

[attr="class","augusttext"] Just as Asahi would begin to enter the dungeon he would hear a familiar voice towards his rear. He would turn to see that the voice belonged to Kenja Ravencrest of the Golden Dawn. Kenja would greet Renard and Miss Honoka in his usual stoic ways, while when he greeted Asahi he would have just a small hint of excitement to his voice. Asahi would quickly flash a smile as he would say “Hello to you too Kenja. Now lets hurry on along. Kenja it would be best if you take the position behind me, and help keep Miss Honoka our healer safe.” Asahi thought to himself about how it seemed he was already always countering what the crimson lion said, however he simply had to voice his opinion in everything. He would turn back to head into the dungeon, hoping that everyone would take their positions in the formation. [break][break] Floor 1, Room 1 [break][break] The group walked into the first room of the dungeon, and Asahi had his hand on his hip ready to reach for his sword at a moments notice. This was the sword mage’s first time in a dungeon, so to say he didn’t really know what to expect was an understatement. He scanned the area with his eyes constantly moving, looking for any sign of danger. Soon after they had entered Renard would call from the rear of the group telling everyone to keep their eyes open. Asahi thought it best to not even respond as it should be common sense that they should have their eyes open, although he knew that common sense was not as common as one would think. [break][break] Soon after the silence that worried Renard was to be broken as a rustling noise could be heard up above them. Asahi knew better than to think it was a bird or some other normal animal, so he would draw his katana and smile as he thought to himself *Time to have some fun…* Asahi would look up and watch as the goblins would drop down upon the group of mages. Asahi counted the goblins as they would begin to fall, counting a total of 12 meaning they were totally out numbered. He would quickly asses other factors of the situation such as the distance between himself and his allies, what actions they may be taking, and the space allowed to them. He would watch as Renard used some sort of shadow spell in order to create spears. [break][break] Using the opening that Renard’s attack created when the goblins dodged, would allow Asahi to move in for a strike. As the goblins tried to take up positions and surround the party Asahi would sprint forward and attack the 4 goblins who would block their path forward. As he charged forward he would say “I’ll open up a hole!” He would land a cut on the 4 goblins, striking 3 in the torso and one in the neck. He knew not what Renard was truly capable of but he knew for a fact Kenja was more than capable of protecting the civilian among them. [break][break] After Asahi had dispatched 4 of the goblins blocking their forward route, he would quickly move back into position with the rest of the group.

Sumire nodded in agreement to Renard's requested strategy of staying within 5 meters of each other so they could reach the others quickly if the need arise. It was a reasonable request for their strategy as she could keep track of both Renard, who was behind her, and of Asahi who decided to take the lead. It was a odd situation but one she was willing to accept. Dungeons were not meant for seamstresses but here she was of her own want to know more of clover, to make some of her own connections and grow. She had a lot of silent issues hiding in the shadows and things to tend to, however for her family and their honor, she was going to do all she needed to to ensure they were safe and taken care of when it was her time to start a new family in her future. She just hoped fate would hold a bright future of love cause all she saw for her future was annoyance and confusion. [break][break] She returned her train of thought to reality as she looked over to the newest voice as she stopped looking towards him " It is a honor to meet you Kenja. I am Honoka, Sumire Honoka." She spoke in reply bowing quickly before listening to Asahi confirm that he and Kenja did know of each other. She heard Renard offer for Kenja to find himself a spot within the formation where he would be comfortable while Asahi suggested he stayed near Sumire to ensure her safety. What was she a doll? She turned her sapphire eyes to the entrance of the dungeon before moving forwards with the group nervous as all hell but excited to see what all the talk was about. She knew a stern punishment was going to come from this when she got home but if the rewards were anything of what she was told through the grape vine, then it just might benefit her family. [break][break] Floor 1, Room 1: [break][break] Sumire watched the environment around them in wonderment. She heard dungeon were created by the abnormallies within the mana of their world. She was amazed to know such things would shape the landscape so much and seem like a common occurrence. She tilted her head as she looked up in thought hearing the woodland around them go oddly quiet " Hm? Seems we have company...All around us...How rude." She spoke in curious amazement of the goblins watching twelve come out of their various hiding places, from above and around them. She turned to scan the entire area around herself allowing her senses to flow around them, knowing where each and every creature was going to be. She felt Renard's mana spread out from the attack turning to her to watch the shadows come from his grimoire, making a mental note of his magic watching what she could tell was two spells of use before twisting to hear Asahi call out around making a hole from them, taking out his blade as she watched 4 fall to Asahi's assault and one to Renard's own. [break][break] She didn't have any attack spells and she wasn't one that was about to be too willing to touch these creatures. They were goblins. She has heard stories of how deadly and tormenting these creatures can get if they were left to their own devices without anyone to cut down their numbers and dens. She felt a tug on her hanfu hem behind her. If there was one thing you never do, it was touch Sumire's clothing and this poor creature did not get the hint. However to be far the past week has made this issue a lot worse given where she was stuck. She immediately sent her heel back against the creature that had grabbed ahold of her hem, sending it flying up in the air. She twisted swiping down her dress from it's clutches before sending a hard high round house kick to the unsuspecting goblin's gut sending it flying for a tree causing a grand total of junior damage. [break][break] She took a deep breath re calming herself while lowering her hands straightening her Hanfu " I am sorry it had to end this way, but never are you to touch a lady without her permission." She spoke softly to the goblin watching it fade before watching the three near her, folding her hands into her sleeve smiling softly towards them as her sapphire eyes grew cold with her next words " Are you all going to share the same fate?" She asked backing up closer to Kenja, the softness returning to her eyes as she kept a watch of the remaining six goblins around them.

[attr="class","haniascroll"]As the group advanced deeper into the dungeon, Kenja found himself positioned at the rear, tasked with protecting the healer. He couldn't help but question the logic behind it, wondering why the healer would be considered incapable of defending herself. However, he decided to withhold judgment for now, acknowledging that there would be more to the healer's abilities than he knew. He just didn't want to underestimate or overestimate another member of the group. Kenja maintained his focus and proceeded cautiously, conserving his magic and observing the surroundings. It didn't take long for their first encounter within the catacomb to occur. A dozen goblins ambushed them from above, launching a surprise attack. Kenja's previous experience with goblins allowed him to gauge their strength, and he believed that his physical prowess alone would be sufficient to handle them.
Moving with speed and precision, Kenja engaged three of the goblins in close combat. He swiftly rolled forward, delivering a powerful punch to the chest of one goblin, causing its bones to audibly crunch under the force (Junior Rank Damage-1). The other two goblins swung their swords at him, and although he managed to dodge one, the other managed to land a cut on his arm, damaging his mana skin. Taking note of the goblins' increased skill and speed compared to the ones he had encountered before, Kenja adjusted his combat strategy accordingly. His face remained cold and stoic as he targeted the goblins' weak spots with precise martial arts moves, aiming at their necks and skulls (Junior Rank Damage-2, Junior Rank Damage-3).
The skirmish was short-lived, and Kenja swiftly neutralized the immediate threat of the three before him, before regrouping with the rest of the team since more were left. He kept a keen eye on the others, curious to see how they would handle themselves in future encounters. Despite the initial setback of being hit, Kenja remained confident in his abilities and committed to supporting the group in whatever way necessary to ensure their success in the treacherous catacomb.

TL;DR
Used martial arts hand-to-hand combat on three of the goblins. Did Junior Rank Damage to their Junior Rank Health (Herculean + Brute Perk). Took a hit to his mana skin for Junior Rank Damage.
[attr="class","renardreescroll"] Glancing across the sudden battlefield, Renard smiled as he saw that his companions could handle themselves in a fight. As he saw Asahi and Kenja cutting down one goblin after the next, the young shadow mage could not help but feel excited about this fight. Planting his shadowy spear into the ground, he quickly made his way towards the remaining three goblins and cast another spell. "Shadow Boxer" he exclaimed as he connects his knuckles together, willing his shadow to move up to his fists to envelop them. With his spells making him slightly faster, Renard rushed into two of the remaining goblins, narrowly avoiding the swing of a club from one of the small creature, which opened itself up for a quick series of jabs. As the pummeled goblin falls to the ground, its friend took the opportunity to strike at the mage with a swing of its mace, landing a blow to Renard's side and knocking the wind out of him. "Thank the spirits for mana skin" he thought recovering from the strike before rushing the goblin. As Renard rushed the creature, it swung frantically trying to hit the young man once again but Renard parried the swing and landing a punch to the small creature, knocking it back causing it to slam against a nearby tree. As Renard whisps around, his eyes land on the last remaining goblin about the attack Renard. The mage grabbed one of his nearby shadowy spear proturding from the ground and blocked the incoming axe swing with the spear's shaft. As soon as the attack was stopped, Renard used the momentum to knock the goblin off balance to give him an opening to strike the creature in the guts and with a spin to strike it in the face causing an unsettling crack to resonate before the goblin collapsed. [break][break] With the fight concluded, Renard dismissed his spells and turned to the group of mages with him. "Is everyone doing alright?" He asked, checking up on each of them. Once he was sure that everyone was fine, he urged the team to return into formation. "Let's continue on before we get attacked again. Thankfully, the entrance of the dungeon shouldn't be too far." He said he start walking towards their destination.
