id and thick as the moon was nearing its peak in the night's sky. A lone figure walked down the streets of a land filled to the brim with criminals whose status ranged from common bandits to those hunted by some of the most prestigious Magic Knights. The figure who roamed the streets was a man. Hair as gold as the sun and eyes as red as blood seeping through veins. Mimir had been roaming the Forsaken Region for days and had finally arrived to his destination, Rogue's Refuge. For weeks he traversed the country in hopes of finding the secret outpost for criminals.
Some wondered why he came here. You see, Mimir wasn't your average criminal. He didn't go around stealing anything that seemed valuable like your common bandit, nor did he go around killing people for fun like a local murderer. Sure, he was labeled as a Rogue, but that title was only given to him due to a certain event that had happened at least a year ago. At the time he wasn't proud of what he had done. Although those who had acted against him had what was coming to them. He was only acting in self defense, but the people who ruled the lands didn't care. They saw the man only as a criminal. A person who had slain a group of Magic Knights.
Each day that he spent in the Clover Kingdom his heart broke. Saddened by the fact that he may never return to his homeland. Being labeled as a criminal and being separated from his family slowly caused him to grow hatred for the place that was his new home. He didn't hold anything against the common people of the Clover Kingdom. nor did he care for the few nobles he had come across. The people that he hated gathered in groups and wore cloaks of different colors. Red, blue, silver, there were a myriad of colors that they wore, but the color that Mimir hated the most was green.
A frown would appear on his face. Who would have thought mere colors someone was wearing would anger him. However, those colors did mean something. The colors were associated with the group of people who called themselves Magic Knights. As Mimir continued walking, his mind would move away from his hatred of the Magic Knights. At last he had arrived to the destination inside of Rogue's Refuge. A tavern that looked quite dusty on the outside, but those who knew the secret password could unlock an area where they could achieve greatness.
Mimir would come to open the door of the tavern and make his way through it. A single man sat at a bar and looked in his direction. The place was mostly empty besides a few stragglers who were out for a late night drink. He would ignore them as he made his way over to the bar. "Jeweled Phoenix." spoke the golden haired man. The bartender would nod as a reply and motion Mimir towards a door to his left. Upon walking through the door, Mimir would be greeted with a hallway that was as long as a road. For minutes he seemed like he was walking down the hallway, but even he knew that it was some type of illusion cast by the greater powers who controlled the bar. He was in a mana created establishment after all. Once he got to the end of the hallway, Mimir would once again walk through another door. However, this time he wouldn't be greeted by a bartender in a rundown establishment.
The smell of a thousand flowers and the feeling of the sun's rays hitting his body caused him to inhale a large amount of air. One would think he was no longer in Rogue's Refuge, but he was. Like he said, this was a mana created establishment. This was just a place radiating so much mana that it was able to blast away the fog and dense air that surrounded the town of criminals. As he looked around, he saw a couple of people. A pair to his right were fighting in hand to hand combat, a person to his left was sitting on top of a rock meditating. This area was the perfect place for him to hone his senses and develop his magic.
Slowly, Mimir would walk towards a lake that had a single boulder sitting in the middle of it. The water in the lake was unique because instead of flowing in a straight direction, it spun around the boulder clockwise. With a small leap, he would jump over the water portion of the lake and come to stand on the boulder. Sitting down, he would cross his legs over each other Indian style and begin to meditate. He slowly began to release all of the mana from his body. Those around him would feel the immense pressure coming from him that was both his powerful mana and a magic that was considered godly amongst all mages. Mimir had come here to perfect his craft with Gravity Magic. If he was unable to further enhance it, then his goal while he was in this country was only laughable.
As he released his mana, Mimir could feel it connecting with the spinning whirlpool around him. They danced in a battle that couldn't be seen with common eyes. However, he didn't need eyes to see this battle. His mana was connected to the world and how got a sense of what was happening around him. The gravity was fighting for dominance in order to slow the whirlpool down and hopefully cause it to become a steady flow of water to travel in one direction. Who knew how long this training would take? Maybe for Mimir it would only take a couple of hours, but for others maybe weeks? Months? Only time could tell and that was why Mimir was here. Training his magical capabilities to become the strongest of the strongest. An Apex Predator in a land brimming with those calling themselves Magic Knights.
