[attr="class","textie"]The girl, Nanami, had proven to be an invaluable resource at this moment bringing up her version of the city almost made him smile when she pointed things out to him. It reminded him of all the times he would stay locked up in his room, and just read books in a similar style for hours. After she had shown him that "bad things" were coming, and he got the warning from those that were outside he simply patted the girl on the head.
"I will be Captain of the Golden Dawn one day...When that happens I will be waiting for you to take the exam so I can invite you to join me." was all he stated to the little girl before grabbing his lantern, and clipping it to his belt. There was a single unit coming from the north, and that was the one that he was most interested in.
Seeing Jett cast his defensive magic eased his worry of harming the others, now he just had to worry about the city, he didn't wish to cause undue destruction to the surrounding place. As he walked towards the door he stopped to speak with Jett tapping his cheek almost lazily.
"The single one has me curious...I'm going to go see what it is...I will stay nearby so don't worry about me running off, and you will know if I need help." he said to the man simply, in his emotionless tone, and he stretched out. The one that was all alone was north, which meant that it had to be the leader of whatever this pack was. Or it was a diversion, eitherway it was worth having him go to it. "We will need to have all four corners covered either way, and they will need your help more than me." he explained to the diamond mage, not speaking to anyone else right now. If they overheard they would understand, or so he hoped.
Vulkan could handle himself well enough, and so he made his way to the north side of the house to meet the oncoming enemy. Gen's words stuck with him however, these could just be illusions, or something far worse knowing their enemy. What exactly he had no clue, but when he was about thirty meters away from the house his grimoire flared to life.
"Lava Creation Magic: Volcanic Knights Lance!" his magic awoke, and in each of his hands was a lance made of condensed lava. He simply waited for the moment wanting to know exactly what he was up against, and how he was going to have to defeat it. With Jett's diamond spell still active, and his lance he felt pretty confident in his ability to fight at the moment. Though it all boiled down to the tactics of their enemy.
Vulkan had come here alone for a couple of reasons, he had an idea, and wanted to see if there was any merit to it. Someone was going to have to come here, and since Jett could defense everyone better than he could, he was the logical choice considering this enemy would probably be stronger than the rest. He didn't want to leave the ones that he viewed as newbies defenseless, he wouldn't be a very good senior if he did that. His magic also didn't play well with others, so it was better for him to fight alone, and in a space where he couldn't cause much damage to the city.
"Ten enemies total...Three from every direction but North...The potential that they are civilians disguised as monsters, though that is doubtful, otherwise Nanami would have told me. She seems to be able to sense things we can't..." he had taken a note of that. No one in their group had picked up on the exact location of creatures except for that little girl. Though he didn't understand why. "Sooo I wonder what is waiting for me all by my lonesome up here..." he mused to himself as he waited. The silver haired mage would do his best to finish his enemy quickly so that he could go help the rest of his team, but something told him that leaving this creature alone up here wouldn't be a great idea. He just hoped the rest of them could hold out until then though with Jett there he doubted they'd be in any real danger except from maybe themselves.
Battle Breakdown: Vulkan told Jett that he was going to go to the North Enemy alone since Jett was more useful to everyone as a whole than he was. So Vulkan is on the Northside of the house with his Lava Lances in hand just waiting for this single enemy to appear so he can either talk to it, or fight it. He has a tea party to get back to.
Name of Spell: Lava Creation Magic: Volcanic Knights Lance Elemental Type: Lava Rank & Spell Type: Senior | Attack Creation Range & Speed: 80 meters | 40 m/s Mana Cost: 30 | 15 Stats Effected: +6 Power Applicable Perks: Apex Predator Description: The version of this spell that he uses most often for the sheer power that it can produce, and it's utility in combat. If he uses it as a projectile, and it misses he can retrieve it by having the Lance fly back to his hand as long as he is within the spells range. This spell deals Senior Rank damage, and inflicts severe burns on those that come into contact with it. For every 30 control that he has he can create an additional lance to use.
The doll-like mage remained quiet listening to everything that the noblewoman had been saying to everyone, she was actually taken back at the compliment that she had received about her fitting into the purple orcas "I originally wanted to join the Coral Peacocks." she admitted nervously to the group, her parents primarily wanted her to marry but they knew she may have wanted to take a more active role within the kingdom and thus become a magic knight. It had seemed that she was going to be allowed admittance into the blue roses if she chose that path however neither decision that had been made for her were ones that she had wanted. Had she been given the same freedoms as her elder brother Ozma she would have honestly tried to gain entry to the squad most known for their healers, but the fates it would seem had other things in mind for her in regards to having her bump into the captain of the Golden Dawn who had come across her when she was looking less than her best. They had had a discussion which ended up with her receiving her mantle before a very bad beating at home happened. She really hadn't mentioned it but then she had avoided her families estate since that day like it was a daemonic induced plague. "Thank you for the compliment though, my mother and father believed it important to be able to read the tides of war especially since I find it beyond distasteful to do such things." she had been completely honest about that last art, to her violence only brought new violence and at the end of that everything ended up dead. [break][break] It had turned out that her suspicions had been confirmed, the young girl had perished and was chosen to be the protector of this city because she had sacrificed herself to protect her father. It was a sick joke in her opinion but on some level she understood it but it still made no sense in others. "She was chosen because she was willing to sacrifice herself for what she knew was right but normally this would be the wrong type of person to choose in these circumstances... there has to be more to it." it was clear she was trying to make sense of it but the more she was thinking on it the more puzzled she seemed to become over the entire matter. "Why... Why choose someone who would readily put themselves in harm's way for others and even then why choose a child that would do it." there had to be something she was missing and she felt like she was going to be a fool for missing it in the first place. From what she had seen these daemons had been meticulous on everything they had done from the moment they attacked Kikka in the first place, they wouldn't do things without a reason but the problem was they were so chaotic at the same time it was almost as if they were using it as a smokescreen to throw off their real objectives. This was the reason she hated people who specialized in illusion magic even she was a kid they annoyed her to no end. [break][break] She hadn't paid much attention to her senior or Charlotte's daughter as it seemed like it was something that both the little girl and her senior needed in all honesty. She couldn't imagine the burden having that kind of burden as an adult but to have it on your shoulders as a child is unbelievable. She couldn't help but flinch as the green mantis mage let his anger get the best of him, she would have said something but it seemed like the purple orca captain had everything in hand. "Healing magic is strong in its own right sir..." she started closing her eyes the tips her fingers gently caressing the lip of the cup she had been drinking from as she tried to form the words she needed to add to her original statement "I asked the question because a mage that can reach the pinnacle of the aspect can revive the dead with a bit of sacrifice to themselves and the one involved." she continued once more with a silent sight "It's because of that fact I needed to ask such an insensitive question." she finished opening her eyes and looking right towards Valo "The father of the family died because he refused to take the killing blow even though it meant his daughter wouldn't be safe, the logical thing to do would be to spare the child of the winner but they chose the child of the only one who held back." she said softly her voice clearly trying to make sense of things as she explained herself "The child is the protector of the city meaning she herself had to have done something to gain such a burden on her young shoulders." she said looking over to the smiling toddler. "We also know everything these daemons do though not conventional is well planned to the smallest detail." she said looking back to her teacup "I would theories that she is the scapegoat, their failsafe." it was the only thing that made any logical sense. It was almost like they wanted to make sure they couldn't destroy the city, they were so odd that she didn't know if she would be able to keep up with these sort of mind games but had managed to so far. She was a pacifist with a sharp mind so to her this was the only thing she could offer them outside of healing. [break][break] She turned to the redhead when she confirmed she had a communication spell "Captain Kasai and Captain Blake if you can communicate with more than one, if not I'd like to speak to my captain." She said knowing at least she could give them the information and theories that the group had been given and had, this, however, may have needed to be put on pause as an attack was happening from the reactions that happened inside and outside of the building. Where the others had decided to leave the house to take the fight to the incoming threat, she herself decided to remain within the house. This had nothing to do with the fact that she was afraid but she was using part of the information they had been given. While inside a house they could see perfectly, this would hopefully allow her to see past through any illusion that may have been over whatever was a potential attack. "Bring them towards the house!" she called out "We can use the fact that when inside a house vision is perfect!" she instructed hoping they would see what she was getting at but who knew how they would work, tensions were high and everything needed to be questioned after what the original group had been through. Her mind was going a mile a minute, her own tensions were high and she was afraid of slipping in her role allowing the others to make mistakes that they otherwise could have avoided.
The attack had just started and the male shadow mage was already frustrated, not only couldn't he find the woman he was there to help but his map had proven useless to find the enemies that had come towards the group. With the casting of two spells, he had given the darkness mage a set of raven wings while making himself a raven to fly up. Vaile and Hans would both realise that the higher they went up the less they could see to the point if they got on the roof they wouldn't be able to see past the length of their arms. Vaile had flown up to the roof where the raven had taken perch the problem was where it had landed was on a trap, a purple circle started to glow beneath it where tendrils of darkness and pure aura quickly came out of it and attempted to bind the raven and Vaile if this actually did happen they would be taking damage, regardless the raven and the shadow mage would be slowed due to the traps affects. Those below wouldn't be affected as these traps were designed only to affect those on the level they had been placed. Unknown to the group this trap had actually been placed there by Charlotte herself to protect her neighbours and her own household, she never thought that people would ever go on the roof given that no one could really see anything the further they went up. Around the man, five blades of shadow had been made, he was wielding one with four floating around him, it had looked like he was ready to fight but there was also the possibility given his actions up till this point he would up and leave if he found whatever it was he may be looking for.
The shadow and the darkness mage seemingly had both noticed how quiet it had been until the enemy had come screeching towards the pair, they could have gone inside and waited for the perceived threat to pass but it wasn't to be and so the darkness mage had called out to be wary for traps but it had been too late as the trap on the roof had already been sprung and its effects already taking place. Within the same breath, he called into the group that was still in the house but a good amount of them had already seen the map that Nanami had made and where already jumping into action to fight against the enemy coming their way. Casting a spell of his own he almost looked like a darkened angel of death within the suit of armour created by the spell with the raven wings Vaile's spell had granted him. While holding a sword of his own two greatswords floated around him ready for the commands needed to strikeout. That was until he remembered the last time he acted in haste and lashed out only to find that the 'mana beasts' were, in fact, innocent children who had been scared and looking for aid under the guise of an illusion. This time he decided that he would be careful the swords fading back into the armour as he created a barrier to protect him from what may be coming his way in the hopes that they could figure out if any of the 'enemies' were actually friends being manipulated by the enemy in the hopes that they would make the same mistake for a second time.
Charlotte was going to answer the fire mage but just as she was the call for aid outside came and so remained quiet, there would be plenty of time afterwards to decide if she did or didn't owe someone something. She could understand where Valo was coming from and logically she knew it was true but a parent's instincts didn't always act logically something she hoped he would one day understand. It was usually how they knew when their children had been lying, doing something they shouldn't have been or were hiding something from them. All she could do was smile as he told her not to forget that they had caused this and he swore that he would make them pay for it, she held no doubts he would follow through on that promise but even then she shouldn't prevent how she felt towards the female daemon for giving her Nanami back to her once again. It was almost as if she and the one she called her twin didn't want the children harmed and would never allow it to go as far as death if it had then they would sacrifice their own power to revive them it was all so confusing and illogical. "Valoriss, keep your calm at all times an angered man makes many a mistake that can otherwise be avoided. Isn't that what the old guard kept telling you when you were younger?" she asked trying to help him in the only way that she could right now. That guard had passed a few years ago and recently had to be reburied but he was one of the very few that had never given up on the youth regardless of how hard he tried to push back against the teachings he was given.
Going outside he gave a few words to his friend that they wouldn't make the same mistake again before casting a spell that called three lung dragons made out of orange flames while this happened he reinforced that everyone should remain defensive for now as they could be civilians under the effect of an illusion. The hopes was if they tore through the golems that would show if they were in fact enemies, the issue was even civilians could have that kind of strength and if frenzied or fearing for their lives they would attack allies so it was a flawed plan at best. Nanami listened to Jett as he said he was close friends to the wizard king and would even introduce her and her mother to him after Kikka had been saved, her young eyes sparkled with excitement at the thought of being able to really have a tea party with the ruler of the magic knights. She knew that the king was in charge of the kingdom but even at her young age she knew where the power really was. She nodded giggling happily watching as Jett grabbed his lantern and headed out to where everyone else was Nanami remained at her table but really wanted to see what was going on but knew that the glass would hurt if smashed and her mother didn't want her in any way near the fighting. Now the captain stood right beside Valo awaiting the enemies that were coming their way.
The red-headed assassin called out that to the pair outside just how many enemies were on their way and from which direction which in this case was all directions. It made Valo's plan of his three golems a bit more flimsy as they were only able to protect from the directing they were facing unless Valo, himself, sensed the beasts coming which was a bit of an issue when the person with the highest sensory in the group couldn't even do that. The femme fatal took her own position but made sure she remained within viewing range of the others and was always aware of their locations in case she or they required assistance. With the help of one of the 'gifts' she had found in a box in front of her home upon returning from one of her own 'therapy' sessions, she summoned two elegant dragonic looking amethyst golems. She hopped on one of their backs while offering another to get on if they wanted to all though this wasn't said out loud and took to the air, if she did the same she would too find that her vision being reduced to no further than the length of her arm. It was clear that the daemons were trying to keep their enemies on the ground and punishing them for breaking the rules of the game. That, of course, would be the problem if the lanterns weren't facing the direction they were wanting to see in, with the lantern their vision would remain as it was when in the sky and they would be able to see double the distance they normally could while on the ground.
The lava mage himself had a few words for the young Nanami but given the urgency of the situation, her mother stood behind her and held her close so she didn't get in the way of the group. Charlotte knew that Nanami would want to talk more and to do so would cause issues and it would slow the group down. "Captain remain away from the roofs, I set traps on them all if you must get on higher ground the only place safe is the chimneys." she called out to the diamond mage knowing that one of the traps had been set off and so needed for the group to know that the possibility of friendly fire via trap was a high possibility. The enemy that had been coming towards him, however, was nowhere to be seen even with the lava lances there was a slight vibration in the ground but that could be due to the oncoming enemies or something happening inside the houses or even other spells. Quickly the vibrations got stronger but still, the enemy hadn't been seen that was until a hand came out from the earth beneath and attempted to grab at the silver-haired mages ankles. It would seem as if the mana beasts had learned a few tricks since the last group had been within the town and that made things a bit more unpredictable.
The doll-like mage had explained her reasoning as to why she had asked such a sensitive subject and the logic she believed that the young Nanami had been the one chosen for such a task as much as she and likely others didn't like it. She knew that Valo and Jett were protective of this family and likely wished she hadn't asked the question even going so far to the point they wanted to stop her but it had been done and they gained information that was important. It had caused Valo to lash out a bit hearing their hostesses words and the flower mage could understand it within reason a mothers love will always be thankful when it comes to the protection of their child especially when the one they loved had perished. She also had a suspicion that she may have been asked by the daemon which of the two she wanted revived and had made the choice of her daughter over her husband. She would never ask that however as if it was the case Charlotte would already be feeling guilt for her choice. It was cruel if it did happen but it was within a daemons nature. There was also the fact that this could have been what she believed her husband would have wanted in the long run, after all, he had lived his life and Nanami's was just beginning but this was just completely up to speculation without that direct conversation taking place.
The dainty mage had done quite the opposite of the others within the group she had remained in the house taking full advantage of the information they had been given by Charlotte. They could see perfectly within the house and so that meant logically she would be able to see through any illusions that might be cast on the up and coming enemies and so, called out to the group to bring them to where she could see them.
Story:
The group have jamp into battle and done their best to find ways to play defensive at least for now while they find out if anything that has come their way is indeed an enemy or just a civilian under an illusion. Vaile activated a trap by landing on the rooftop of a building after creating a raven and giving Hans raven wings to make him go faster, Jett has put a defensive shell on those that were within the house as he left it and the group had a quick conversation with Vulkan who went off a little on his own to have something attempt to grab onto his ankle from underground. Valo and Genesis have called golems to help make a shield of sorts in the hopes that this will be a way to tell friend or foe not realising the flaws that might come with it. Hans has created a darkened armour around his body and two greatswords but changed his plan of action by changing it into three shields. Charlotte called out to the team not to land on anything but the chimneys if they do go to the roofs as she has trapped everything else and Hinota is watching on from inside the house as via the information given by Charlotte while inside a house people can see normally and so can help better that way than being outside where she would be more a burden than anything else
- Where this is a death enabled thread I will not be going out my way to kill characters, the only way this will happen is if silly actions take place on the players side.
- Actions have consequences not only for you but potentially whatever organisation you belong to so think before acting.
- Each round will generally last 3 - 4 days, extensions can be requested but they must come a little in advance and with a decent reason or they will be denied.
- You are not locked into anything until your first post within your thread.
- The event will run on three strikes in regards to skipping rounds. The first time will be a verbal warning and perhaps a trap being set off, the second time I am taking something from you and will set a trap off, third time you will either be removed or killed depending on the reasons for the skips.
- Withdrawing once the event is in full swing without a decent reason will result in your character dying, with a good reason you will be fine and have reduced rewards at the end.
- Any nerfing or buffing of stats/abilities via spell/item etc are not permanent unless otherwise stated and will end at the end of the thread.
- Lydia is flying above the town under orders of the Wizard King, only the captains know and only they can request help
- Lydia is allowed to shoot light into threads once per page, the light will last 2 rounds before vanishing during the 2 rounds of sight character vision will be fully restored
- If two or more characters are below 50% on either mana or health the light will return either 10 mana or 25% of the character's health per round it can not do both.
- During the two round of pure light Lydia will be able to see the town perfect for the most part so can relay information if requested to one group but she must be contacted for that information.
- If a captain in one thread asks for light to be given, the very next round the opposite thread will gain the benefit of the light so use this wisely.
- If Lydia believes someone is doing something stupid after two rounds and if gm permission is asked she can shoot a warning shot at the person in question but not directly hit them.
- Just clarifying Lydia will only take one warning shot at the feet if she believes you are messing up, if she has to shoot at you again you will be taking damage equal to a quarter of your rank. (Juniors will be taking junior damage as will intermediates) If she has to shoot deal with you a third time she is allowed to attempt to knock you out. A warning from the people in the group will always be allowed to be given before Lydia will be allowed to take a shot regardless.
- The lanterns will take on aspects of your element(s), they have a 20m aoe range for everyone but Jett they will give a shield that follows spell rules of the wielders rank. They require x2 hits of the wielders rank to break (x2 grand in Jett's case) Jett being the shield of the kingdom gets a grand rank passive speed boost. These items will either break or will be returned to Charlotte at the end of the event.
- Yes, Valo has information from the last event that he never told anyone and this is the information that Charlotte doesn't want spoken so now he has to make a decision.
- Those that drank the tea poured for them gain an increase to mana regain of 5 in and out of battle for the rest of the thread
- Vaile if you're bound by those bindings you gain SR damage
- The trap will reduce your speed by 10 m/s for the next three gm rounds
- Vulkan if you're grabbed your speed is reduced by 10 m/s until you break free
- This round will last for 7 days and I want at least 2 posts per person, the second round can not begin until everyone has posted for the round before.
[attr="class","textie"]How long had it been...How long since he had felt the thrill of battle against someone who was equal to, or stronger than him? Vulkan waited patiently, but no enemy was within his sight instead he felt vibrations in the ground under his feet as if the earth was trembling beneath him. Looking around confused a bit he perhaps thought that his enemy was invisible, but that is when he felt the earth underneath him shatter, and something grip his ankle. Quirking a confused brow he saw what appeared to be a massive claw reaching out in an attempt to shear the flesh from his body, or to at least hold him in place. That was a folly on the creatures part, most people who knew how he fought chose to stay at a range for a reason, it would seem he would have to educate this beast on the finer points of combat.
"You have made a poor choice..." came the emotionless words as one of his lances left his hand, and seared through the air towards the creature beneath him. His eyes closed as he focused his senses sharpening them, and expanding what he called his "Ki Bubble" so that he could sense the creature beneath him. Making sure that his lance struck true as it cut through the earth like a hot knife through butter.
He wondered what kind of creatures the Daemons were now, since they had decided to attack the home of their chosen one so blatantly with creatures that could deal easy damage to anyone weaker than them. From what he had gathered on the passing conversation they were keepers of their word, but they had at the same time forced the burden of protecting this entire town on one little girl. That was unacceptable in his eyes to subject a child to such things. In all the stories he read as a boy, the heroes had always saved everyone, and that little girl was a hero in the truest sense of the word.
It was that reason alone he had decided he was going to rescue her, and everyone else in this darkened place, and he was going to make the Daemons suffer. His teal eyes narrowed at the ground as the lantern he kept at his hip seemed to keep his vision somewhat normal despite him still not being able to see very far, but he didn't need range since his enemy decided to pay him a visit up close, and personal. While his first Lance drilled through the earth in search of it's target he kept his composure not seeming to care if he was grabbed, and not able to move as quickly. This position suited him just fine, this thing beneath him would learn quickly why one didn't just simply walk up to a living volcano.
"I do hope your masters will be able to see the suffering I'm about to put you through..." The words left his lips coldly as his second lance flew from his hand towards his target. His aim was simple the creature would either get damaged, or it would relinquish it's grip on him, and retreat. No matter which move it made he had the upper hand in this fight if the best it could do was dig under the ground, and surprise grab his leg. It was almost laughable to him how completely idiotic this things strategy was.
Vulkan wasn't going to play around with his food as it were, he wanted to end this thing quickly so he could gather himself, and then go help the others if they needed it, though considering they had Jett with them he doubted they would need him all that much. But Vulkan was a very cautious man, and if the enemies were going to try, and overwhelm them with sheer numbers he figured their reasoning was because they were watching, and wanted to see what they were capable of. The long the fights dragged on the more intelligence they were giving their enemies, that was what made the most sense to him.
Though as he thought that he heard a roar of agony as the creature had been pierced by at least one of his lances, and it shot up from the ground letting go of his ankle as it did so. It didn't look to happy with him, and he looked at the creature that seemed thoroughly armored though there was a bright streak where it seemed at least one of his lances dealt some damage. Holding out his hands his weapons came back to him, and he tilted his head at the thing wondering what it would do now, but that question was soon answered as it leapt through the air towards him curling it's body up, and spinning towards him. Hurling itself towards him like it was some kind wrecking ball, with his Ki active he was much slower so he knew he wouldn't be able to dodge it.
Instead he began backpedaling away from the house trying to get at least thirty meters away from it, though with the creature rushing towards him with that speed it was easier. It collided with him hard sending his body careening backwards. Thankfully thanks to Jett's diamond defense magic he suffered no real harm, but that didn't mean the force from it still didn't shake him. Groaning, and shaking his head he readied his lances once again. It appeared that this creature was going to be tougher than he had given it credit for. The rolling attack seemed to have subsided for the moment, he wasn't going to have much trouble with this thing, given how weak it's attacks were, but it's hide was going to be another issue. Tearing through that was going to require him to be at least this far away so he wouldn't cause any damage to the surrounding area.
All that remained was for him to see how the beast would move now that they were glaring at each other from across this small expanse.
Battle Breakdown: Vulkan let the Mana Beast grab him so he could use his Ki to sense where it was, and then launch both of his lances at it through the ground. One of the lances found purchase, and the creature let go, and showed itself. Vulkan realizing how tough his opponent was going to be did his best to draw it away from the house, which was kind of successful, but the Mana Beast used Rollout to smack into him, and knock him back 20 meters with him moving a further 10 meters away, Vulkan is 30 meters away from Charlottes house. Jett's defense spell protected him from taking any real damage because Jett has a crap ton of durability thankfully. Right now Vulkan, and his Beast have each landed one hit on each other, and are now glaring at each other in stand off mode for the moment. Since Vulkan landed a single hit Apex Predator activates, and gives him a +3 to his power. Find out what happens next time on DRAGONBALL Z!

[attr="class","lonelyscroll"]No. [break][break] A trap? How could he? How much of inadequate, hopeless, folly was he? There wasn’t time to counter, only time to react. He had the lantern yes, the lantern. And as it would seem, it would be good enough. [break][break] While tangled messes attempted to catch him, he was able to use its shield enchantment for the moment as a distraction. But he was still pushed away, he still lost his footing. He still fell. [break][break] What a fall it was. Off the roof. [break][break] Less than graceful, less than commendable. In all, it was a fall that reminded him of his futile effort. A weight formed in the pit of his stomach as he started to get up. [break][break] He could see her, the ghost as clear as day. Whether or not she was real mattered not. Whether or not she really was the ghost of his sister or some conjured hallucination he decided to believe, mattered not at all. Because all that mattered, in that time, in that moment, was that he wasn’t worthy of saving her. He made a mistake. [break][break] His grimoire floated nearby, flipping dark pages to a spell that had belonged to her. [break][break] “Memento Mori.” [break][break] So now this was punishment. [break][break] She said a single word to him. An order, an unyielding will that he could only submit to. He had no other choice. The reaper formed above him, a visage of death so certain and absolute he could only accept it. [break][break]

[break]And so he did. [break][break] [TW for Character Death] [break][break]
[break] Death was sweet. Death was silent. Death was pain. [break][break] Total isolation. [break][break] For every death he suffered, he remembered. [break][break] The first was easy. A knife to the throat. Blood he couldn’t feel went dripping down the skin. Blood bubbling in his mouth, the bitter taste of the iron covered his tongue. He grabbed at the wound, knowing it didn’t exist, but caught in this illusion, it was all too real. Seconds passed as his vision faded, illusory blood covering his neck, his hands, his skin, his mouth. He bled out. He died. [break][break] The next death was drowning. Water filled his sight. Water spilled down his throat. Water filled his lungs. His throat should have burned, bubbles exited his mouth. He saw himself struggling, he saw his body convulsing. Somewhere he heard desperate gasping for breath, turned into gurgling of endless water. He drowned. He died. [break][break] The next death was crushing. A swift process, by all accounts. The slab of rock was above him. It was coming down, fast. But his body didn’t move, he could look above him and that was it. He was crushed. His bones cracked, his body flattened, his blood would have been squeezed out, creating a red river from the crack of earth and ground. He died. [break][break] The next death didn’t matter. Impalement. Neither the one after. Immolation. Neither the one after that. Suffocation. And the one after that. Beheading. [break][break] Because no matter how many times he could have died, it didn’t compare to the one death of hers.
[break] Death was clarity. [break][break] Breathing too heavily he stood, crimson eyes were crazed with visions of endless demise. In truth, he could not see anything else. And yet all he needed was one moment to think. [break][break] The lantern shattered as he dropped it to the ground, its shield spent and used. There were no moments to think. There was no answer. He had none. To struggle and despair were the only options. Because the Daemons were going to take everything away from him. Because there was nothing he could do to stop them. Because he lost someone before. Because he was terrified of losing someone again. Because somehow, somewhere along the way, he’d gotten so confused. [break][break] Because Vaile let her remind him of his sister. And that had been his first mistake. [break][break] What could he sense, what could he remember? How could make the most irritating sound of screams and cries become utter silence? He didn’t care for what the others said and were saying. He just needed everyone to be quiet. [break][break] “Are you afraid of the dark?” His breathless words were whispered to no one. [break][break] And from his grimoire, shadows gathered. The dark dome they all were in was accompanied by another, but this was not of the Daemon’s design. Instead it was of a shadow mage among them. He was one who had made a grave mistake, and simply, was continuing to do so. [break][break] He felt a little presence, the one he had granted the gift of wings to. It was nothing more than a light grounding to the wretched reality that he hated so much. [break][break] Fear and darkness went hand in hand because a black, colorless void of the unknown was the most common kind of unsettling nightmare. Monsters hid in the dark, illusory screams and wails accompanied them. What was real and what was fake could only be determined by a select few, few that Vaile had given the mercy as ‘allies’ in the time being. [break][break] “Shut up.” He muttered. “Shut up.” He continued to repeat, anger rising in his softly spoken insanities. Hands went to his ears, attempting to block out such cacophonous noise. [break][break] “Shutupshutupshutup.”

[attr="class","lonelyscroll2"] Mana: 175 - 50 - 30 - 15 + 60 = 140/240 [break][break] TL;DR Vaile uses his Lantern Shield to defend against the trap and then falls off the roof because he has no self-coordination apparently. [break][break] Then, Vaile engages in emotionally self-destructive behavior because his mental instability is not equipped to handle failure. *cough cough* He casts a [Memento Mori] upon himself, thus destroying the rest of the lantern, and then has an acid trip that involves dying multiple times. Afterwords, he’s still not mentally okay and wants everyone around him to shut up and creates a shadow dome of his own [Are You Afraid of the Dark?] to envelope a 65 m AoE radius. [break][break] Due to [Careful Weaving] + Ammo rules, Vaile can avoid up to FOUR targets and I honestly have no idea who is in Vaile’s range and who is not. But the order of importance of who can avoid Vaile’s spell is 1) HANS, 2) GENESIS, 3) JETT, 4) VALO, 5) VULKAN, 6) HINOTA. [break][break] Vaile is still maintaining the wing spell for Hans so assuming at the very least Hans in within range. Also I don’t think Hinota is affected because she’s inside the house sooo uhhhh do with that info as you will. Jet may not be affected because of his defense spell uhhhh…. [break][break] Hans and Vaile still have commander apply to them! [break][break] SPELLS:[break] Memento Mori
Hex and Curse based spells may now deal damage without the need of an offensive spec. The damage they are capable of dealing is the rank of their spell minus one. Junior ranked spells are unable to utilize this feature.
Instead of illusions waning over time, and lowering the amount of sensory needed in order to see through them by 2 points per post they are sustained, it will now be every other post.
This perk allows a person's spells to naturally move 5 m/s faster than normal, this increases to 10 m/s at grand rank.
[break] Description: The spell begins as Vaile is surrounded by a dark aura of shadows, with the black aura soon overtaking his body entirely. Extending outward and above him is a haunting image of a black skull grim reaper. Nearly 10 meters tall, this is an entirely illusionary visage of death itself, complete with a dark tattered cloak, skeletal body, and scythe with a black blade. The Grim Reaper will rush towards an enemy to quite literally swallow them whole and encompass them in its cloak of darkness. Once caught in the skeleton’s reach, an enemy may be temporarily blinded with their vision completely overtaken by shadows and darkness. [break][break] Immediately following, the target will be barraged with images and visions of themselves dying by various means. This includes but is not limited to: torture and suffering, impalement, beheading, drowning, choking, dismemberment, freezing, be burned alive, illness or any other means that will cause death. These are visions created in a target's psyche and may affect up to four (4) sense of the body (excluding touch or physical means). This includes sight, hearing, and smell to fully develop an immersive experience of death. The fourth sense of 'mana sensory' is also interfered with, incurring confusion over mana presences in the surrounding area and making such presences feel absent or missing, further implying a state of total isolation for the target. The intent of this illusion is to create psychological feelings of trauma and fear in a target, using the absolute fear of death and leave them vulnerable to attack. This Illusion functions a Hex debuff as well. The target will feel their endurance weakened by the continuous imagery of their own death and can be attributed to feelings of extreme illness, fatigue, and nausea. [break][break] Due to the [Corroding Curse] perk, a target shall naturally be inflicted with damage of that equivalent to a [Senior] Rank Spell. [break][break] Memento Mori also functions as a [Grand] rank [Endurance Debuff]. If afflicted successfully, a target will gain an additional [Intermediate] rank’s worth of damage on the next successful attack.
Hex and Curse based spells may now deal damage without the need of an offensive spec. The damage they are capable of dealing is the rank of their spell minus one. Junior ranked spells are unable to utilize this feature.

Able to naturally ignore 1 additional person from your AoE spells effects than you should. At Grand rank, they're able to ignore 2 people, at Archmage 3.
This perk allows a person to have their AoE spells to have their max size increased by 10 meters + 5 meters per rank they are starting at junior.
[break] Description: Vaile creates a dome of shadows, extending in an outwards radius around himself. Those within range of the dome will initially see and experience complete and utter darkness, resulting in a blind for the first post this spell is cast. However, as this is an illusion all that exists within the dome remains and does not actually change. Vaile is able to manipulate up to three [3] of the major senses in order to create a believable illusion. These are sight, hearing, and mana sensing. Targets will see monsters made of shadows in an attempt to scare and disorient them. The monsters can be of whatever Vaile decides upon casting of the spell. Human figures can be made out in the darkness and will appear to rush past target(s) as if running or bumping into them, though the illusions will have no physical interaction, they will simply continue on their path as if a physical object was never there at all. In addition to a visual hallucination, targets may hear auditory sounds such as screams, roars, and cries in a further attempt to create a believable sense of dread and fear. [break][break] The mana sensory of targets within the dome is further interfered with as the targets may be led to believe that there are additional mana signatures in the dome when there actually are not. [break][break] Due to the [Corroding Curse] perk, a target shall naturally be inflicted with damage of that equivalent to a [Intermediate] Rank Spell. [break][break] Are You Afraid of the Dark also functions as a Hex [Speed Debuff]. Targets within the dome will suffer a -10 m/s speed debuff. Due to [Sinister Magic] the potency of this debuff is not lost over multiple targets.
Fast Lane:Transportation spells may give an additional 5 meters a second faster than normal. Once they become Grand rank this increases to 10 meters a second.
[break] Description: Vaile creates a pair of raven’s wings extending from the small of his back. From tip to tip the wingspan is 5 meters long, with shadow 'feathers' appearing to constantly wither and fall from them. The wings appear to be made of solid shadow and grant Vaile independent flight ability, also increasing their maneuverability and overall speed. Besides creating wings for himself, he is able to create wings for allies and other targets, however, they must remain within his range. The maximum number of wings Vaile can create is equal to the normal passenger number for a senior transportation spell (5).
“When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back.”
Hans continued to hover a bit off the ground and braced himself. Something was approaching, and the mage could not determine if they are friend...or foe.
With all of those months of training, Hans was still not prepared for this possibility. An enemy...who might not be an enemy. Mind games, illusions, very cheap, but effective tactics. Hans continued to hesitate, only able to bring defenses up for this situation. Times like these would make a part of Hans yearn for his former self where he was cold, reserved, and did nearly anything just to make a few yul. But the dark mage had grown soft through the influence of various people who were and currently are in his life. He's been thankful for it...but in this instance, it had become a burden.
The continued roars and screeches of the incoming mana beasts were starting to sound more like the pained cries of the children to Hans. The hold on the dark mage's sword had loosened as he slowly lost grip with reality...that is until he noticed a hand come down against his armored shoulder. Hans partially turned his head in the direction of the hand to see that it was Valo. The fire mage shared some reassuring words with the dark mage. At first, Hans just looked at the man quietly. He could see the determination burning hot in his eyes. The mantis did not let this issue dissuade him...and so Hans needed to do the same. They needed to have each other's backs.
"Right..." Hans still had his doubts, but he shouldn't let them control his actions. With a nod, the merc was able to regain a full grip on his greatsword just as the flame mage summoned his fiery golems.
As Jett came out presumably towards the other two, Hans would control and shift his other two barriers, sending them to the barrier he had in front of him, slanting them on each side of the center barrier almost like a curved wall to further their frontal defenses since Valo had two of his golems protecting their sides.
The merc then turned his attention to Gen and Vulkan just as the redhead warned of how many beasts there were and where they are coming from. After that, it seems both her and the Golden Dawn male had gone their own separate directions, the merc wishing them both well in his head. He noticed that Hinota hadn't come out, but if he remembers correctly, the girl said that she was a pacifist so it made sense, and Hans was definitely not going to fault her for that.
Speaking of, the doll-like mage had shouted something out to the group, something that Hans didn't register at first. "Towards the house?" Hans muttered under his breath as he looked back towards the home. Sure, they were able to see things perfectly from within, but what use would that be....unless that goes for seeing through illusions as well!? Hans' eyes widened to that realization, giving the healer a nod. "Got it."
Hans would start to float closer to the house, but as he did, the merc would quickly take notice of Valentine...falling from the roof! Digging the blade of his sword into the ground, and placing his lantern by it, Hans flew off in the direction Valentine was falling towards, leaving a trace of shadowy feathers from the wings given to him. Without the lantern, Hans' vision was lessened once again, but on top of that he found it getting harder to see, but with how fast he was going, and keeping a mental note on where the shadow mage was, Hans was able to catch the barely visible man in his arms, one under his back and the other under his legs. Unfortunately, Hans could not see one of the mana beasts coming with the only warning he got was a screech it made, but it had managed to knock itself into Hans before he could react, causing the dark mage to fall back to the ground, losing his grip on Valentine in the process.
Fortunately for Hans, his armor had protected him from any real damage. Groaning, the merc managed to get back on his feet and was immediately face to face with one of the menacing beasts, towering over Hans by about two feet with sharp dirty looking claws and rows of terrifyingly sharp teeth. A black aura was now surrounding the beast and it had sunk into the ground, no...into the shadows. Looking around for the creature, Hans stopped his search as he took notice of Valentine's grimoire activating once more but he was still on the ground....and looked completely out of it.
The mana beast slowly emerged from Hans' shadow behind him not making a single sound. Without warning, it wrapped its long, thin, monstrous-looking arms around Hans who was now struggling to break free! It lowered its head towards the side of Hans' armored face and opened its mouth, revealing its fangs and long slit tongue. It tried to sink Hans into the shadows with it, but the merc was able to break free by ramming the back of his head against the beast's face, causing it to let go and screech in pain! Back on the ground, Hans turned to face the beast. "I need to get it back towards the house..." He muttered to himself. He couldn't let loose on this thing...not until he knew if it was real or not.
Then another dome had appeared, covering over a wide area....but it was not one crafted by the daemons, but of the downed shadow mage.
"What's happeni-"
“Shutupshutupshutup.”
Hans looked over to the source of this spell. Valentine but he appeared to be going through a breakdown!? This dome was his doing, but he doesn't seem to be fully aware. Whatever this dome is, it doesn't seem to have an effect on Hans, but wasn't sure how the beast that was previously attacking him was faring...or anyone else if they were caught within.
Hans was now making his way to Valentine and hesitantly crouched down to him. Hans did not know how to handle this situation at all. He brought a hand towards the shadow mage, but stopped, slowly lowering it back to his side. "Hey..." Hans had no idea what to say neither. "...V-valentine?"

It was a pity that the mana beasts were coming, otherwise the shadow mage would have liked to use her ring. It would be her first time actually putting the communication spell in action, in real time. Regardless, she kept those two captains’ names in mind, as she would try contacting them as soon as they were not tied up with facing the mana beasts. However, whether they would be able to reach them was a different matter.
By now, Gen had summoned her two dragon golems and were now awaiting for the arrival of the mana beasts. As soon as her feet left the ground, however, her vision changed. Huh? Frowning slightly, she bit down on her lower lip, then had her golem land back down onto the ground. Oh... Realization dawned on her. So this was now the daemons played, hmm? Their game, their rules. The hardest part? Not knowing what the rules are in the first place. But at least she was a little faster at identifying them as they went along. Better than the first time she was here. Hopefully.
If it were not for the cut on vision, she would have preferred to stay in the air. Even with the lantern, the more sight, the better. The daemons had cloaked and suffocated their senses, and even if she tried using her ki, it would not reach very far. There had to be a balance, and she chose to stay on the ground. Then she heard a shout from within the house, from the Golden Dawn healer. Of course. How has she forgotten already? It made sense. When they were inside the house, they could see everything perfectly. But did that also include seeing through illusions, and not just the illusions themselves, whatever they were?
“Shout if you can see a beast that’s a civilian!” She called over her shoulder, then focused ahead again. Accélérer. She quickly gathered shadows and wrapped them around her feet, making her more light-footed and swift.
Her plan? Knock any enemies out with as little damage as possible, and hopefully buy enough time so the flower mage inside the house can confirm whether it was an innocent civilian or true enemy. If it was the latter and there was no shout from Hinota, then she would not hesitate to end its corrupted life.
Assuming that the incoming beasts had not already hit or attacked her second golem that she had set as a barrier, Gen would call it back, bringing it back towards the house but still in front of her and the current golem she was currently on. Suddenly, another layer of shadows cloaked around her. What? She jerked her head up, and saw a dome, covering them in an...illusion of sorts? The mana signature was from Vincent-slash-Valentine, but what was he doing?
Then they were upon her.
The femme barely had time to react before something crashed into the second golem. Her dragon reeled back, almost hitting her. “Dormir. Sleep.” She said simply, and that second golem righted itself and aimed to knock the mana beast down. It was a struggle between shadows and more shadows. Her second dragon golem had managed to pin the beast down for a moment, but then it raked its sharp claws against the undersides of her dragon and wiggled free. Now it set its sinister eyes upon the caster. The golems may not be full blooded creatures, but they were hers, and she could not just sit idly by and watch them tear her creations apart.
Gen jumped up onto the back of her second golem, facing her enemy. The mana beast was unlike anything she had faced before, like a snake but with clawed feet. It hissed at her, and launched itself at her. The shadow mage ducked to the side, trying to avoid its fangs. She would guess that its bite would be more painful than getting slashed by its claws, and who knew if its bite also contained venom? Twisting her body to the side, she aimed to land on its back. She did, but barely. It had scaly skin, and it was all she could do to hold on to the slippery surface.
The reptile-like creature reared its head and suddenly expanded its hood, almost causing Gen to lose her grip on its neck. She wrapped her legs around it, and with her fist, pounded at the top of its head, trying to knock it unconscious. However, she only got two hits in, and it only served to enrage the beast even more. With a mighty flick of its head, it threw the shadow mage off. She may have gotten stronger, but so had those shadow beasts.
As she sailed through the air, Gen called out to her first golem to catch her. With an oomph, she landed on the dragon’s back. Just like the many times she had accidentally slipped off while practicing combat in mid-air. Immediately, the redhead jumped back up, and now flying on her golem, tried to lure it closer towards the house. “Illusion?” She shouted towards the house. Hopefully, the all-seeing female inside the house could see whether or not this snake-like beast was an illusion or the real thing. And hopefully soon, as another shadowy form was now rushing towards her...
Summary: Gen realized the vision difference when in air and on ground, heard Hinota’s shout and brought back her second golem (the ‘barrier’ one) back to near the house, asked Hinota to give her a shout if she sees any mana beasts that is a civilian in disguise, wondered what Vaile’s shadow illusion was all about (can still see due the mentioned ammo rules) but was interrupted by the incoming mana beast
Battle: Snake-with-feet beast attacked and ripped up her second golem, Gen fought and tried to knock it out, dealt junior damage (two physical punches on the head), got thrown off rodeo-style, landed on her first golem's back, now tried to lure it closer to the house, asked Hinota for confirmation, second beast now currently approaching

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Be calm. A repeated thought in Valo's mind, he reminded himself to stay calm and not to act out in anger. With the threats of mana beasts coming near to surrounding them it would have been to easy to go on a simple offensive attack. Last time that happened they paid the price, not again not this time. It may not have been the best of plans right now, but it's what he had. His golems still positioned in the same place, a swirl of dust was around him. A spell casted by the captain, the Shield of Clover. Valo was thankful for these defenses, defensive spells was not his specialty at all. So having a very powerful knight who prioritized defensive spells was very helpful indeed.
The Green Mantis knight stood nearby Hans, ready to brace whatever was coming. But something happened, Valo had to admit he didn't pay to much attention to him. But the shadow mage who had left the house earlier. His spells seemed really powerful creating constructs and swords, but it looked like this crow landed on the top of the house and set off a trap! What perfect timing! Seeing it made Valo take a deep breath and let it out. This is exactly what they needed right now! Mana beasts and traps, luckily Hans was quick to respond and caught the mage before he hit the ground hard.
"Bring them towards the house!" "We can use the fact that when inside a house vision is perfect!"
Valo heard these words and his eyes widened, of course that made perfect sense. Their sense of vision was perfect from inside the house! Luckily for him he wasn't far from the house at all just about a few meters away. But before he could do that, he wanted to make sure Hans and the other mage were going to be ok. He looked over to them, Hans was struggling with a mana beast but was able to free himself. Valo using his mana tether controlled his golems to surround Hans and Valentine to shield them from any attacks. But of course things got worse, their area was then darkened even more with a dome. But somehow Valo was unaffected by it. It was Valentine, it was coming from his grimoire. "Tch. This guy! What the hell is wrong with him?!" Valo said out loud looking at the situation. "Hans! Can you bring him closer to the house?!" Valo shouted to the dark mage. In Valo's mind the closer they all were to the house the better. Valo did prep himself to help out if needed.

[attr="class","jettcomscroll"] As Jett would leave the house Charlotte would call out to him to explain that the roof traps were filled with traps of her own doing. Initially, the diamond wizard didn’t think this would prove to be much of a problem, that was until he stepped outside a caught a shaded glimpse of the dup outside flying in the sky. Logic dictated they would land at some point and the roof tops would prove to be their closest landing spots while ensuring they kept their vantage point, despite the fact the darkless limited their vision. The captain couldn’t help but draw even more similarities with the white haired mage and his old friend Vanilla, though they certainly had much more pressing matters a head of them. ”Stay off the rooftops, they’re laced with traps meant to protect the townsfolk.” Each of the mages were capable of taking in the instructions, whether he was too late or not was a different matter completely. [break][break] The Golden Dawn girl had impressed Jett once more, calling for them to bring the enemies towards the house. Easier said than done though. As things stood, everyone was doing their own thing, there was no real coordination between the group. While Vulkan seemed to be most selfish, running off on his own, it was probably in the best interest of the group handling what was most likely the toughest opponent. Before Jett could really call out to the group of any real instructions though, it seemed the Vanilla clone was having what seemed like a nervous break down, casting a large spell that encompassed most of the group, though seemingly saving the majority of them from whatever its effects were supposed to be. Hans seemed to have it in hand though, litrally. ”Hans! Bring him towards to house!” Barking orders as he watched the creatures, that were possible civilians, encroach on the group. [break][break] Not to stand there and remain motionless, Jett’s grimoire’s pages flipped and shone as his mana began to build up once more, though nothing large like before. Overly conscious of what they could be facing, Jett aimed at first to eliminate any doubt and make things slightly easier for the group as a whole. ”Diamond Magic: Diamond Purgatory!” Diamond chains rushing out from the ground beneath the mana beasts that threatened them, the sparkling chains wrapping around 6 of the closest beasts to the house, hindering their movements and making them easier targets for his companions, watching carefully of how easy they would break out of their confines, feeding the captain just that little bit more information about their strength.

Combat Summary
[attr="class","jettcomscroll2"] tl;dr Called for Hans to bring Valie to the house and warned to group to stay away from the rooftops. Tried to restrain the 6 closest mana beasts to make things easier for the group slowing them down by 5 m/s [break][break]
Name of Spell: Diamond Purgatory Elemental Type: Diamond Rank & Spell Type: Intermediate Restraint Range & Speed: 40m & 30 m/s Mana Cost: 20/10 Stats Effected: -5 m/s Applicable Perks: Quick Shot, Imprisonment of a God Description: The user will summon diamond chains from the ground that will wrap around each limb and torso of those targeted by the spell. The chains will bind as it restrains the movement of its target. The chains will continue to pull on those they hold, slowing their movement speed. Chains move at 30 m/s. The spell can bind additional target for every 20 in control.
She should have expected her senior to run off on his own and could only put her hand to her head to sigh "What has he got going through his head, it's not wise to go alone." she said to herself but continued to stand just before the threshold of the house looking at everything that was going on otherwise. She would have to talk with her senior and try to understand why he would do something so foolish, she knew his magic was dangerous and that he was strong but even trees don't stand alone as there is strength in numbers. She had no idea what went through mages minds as they got stronger to her it was almost like they forgot how to work with others or had some sort of god complex, still, she was glad that the purple orca captain and a few of the others were taking note of her requests. She hated fighting and wasn't built for the darkness the world had but still being here and using her upbringing and healing abilities might be enough to protect innocent people from being harmed or worse. With her senior running off she only counted four others in front of her. Where was the white-haired male that had stepped out when the information gathering was happening, to her it was clear he didn't want to be there to help the people of Kikka but had some sort of alterer motive but it could just be that she was being slightly looking into things. The thing was just going by how he had been since they had met up and how again he had just left without a word to anyone seemed to point to that being the most logical outcome. [break][break] She, herself and likely the others that were in this group likely wouldn't care why he was here only that he pulled his weight when it was needed if he really did have his own objectives that they wouldn't clash with why they were all sent there in the first place. Hearing something she stepped out of the house for just a moment to see the fact that a trap had been set off just before Charlotte had warned that the rooftops were all trapped for the safety of those that were within them, Charlotte was still trying to protect the town thought they had been so cruel to her daughter and that took an insane amount of strength and compassion but she didn't seem like someone who didn't want those who hurt her not to pay for their crimes, she just seemed to want it to be legally. Seeing what had transpired she sighed and stepped back into the house it wasn't like she could do anything to stop what had happened or the stupid the man had shown thus far. Sure, she wasn't much better given her own views on things but given all the information they had been given in the debriefing, they had been given by the returning members of the original team and Charlotte themselves how could he not expect there to be traps lying around when everything pointed to it being a very real possibility and as they had just visited a former magic knight who's child had a giant target on her back she would take extra precautions for around her home for potential attacks. [break][break] Still, she felt sorry for the white-haired man because it seemed like he was having a minor mental breakdown "Valentine! Snap out of it! This isn't the time to be doing such things!" she called out a bit more sternly than she normally would "If this alone is too much for you, you should head back the way you came, no one would hold it against you." she said a bit more gently but it was a fact as plain as the current never-ending night that if he was acting like this currently then he would likely become a hindrance at a later point that could cost them their lives if not that of other citizens and perhaps the town as a whole. As she had turned to enter the house once more she hadn't seen what had happened with Hans and Valentine but she did hear the latter say shut up over and over again. To her surprise, she saw something fly past her head and aim right towards the distracted and distressed Valentine. It took her a second to see what it was but it was in that last second as it hit the side of his head before vaporising as it touched the floor she saw a shoe made of water. Looking down at her side she saw the little girl looking out towards everyone else, she was so young but she was still trying her best to help everyone out, she could see how upset she was, the tears were welling up "STOP BEING STUPID WE NEED YOUR HELP!" Nanami yelled to the man she had just hit with her water boot before falling to her knees crying. Hino couldn't help but move to her knees next to her and hug her as her mother had before when she was scared. [break][break] From her knelt position within the house she started looking over each assumed mana beast that was brought closer to the house "Captain, The large one near you is a mana beast..." she called out before looking at the one's Genesis and Valo brought closer "They're civilians!" she called out before looking towards the one that Hans was near "Civilian!" called out to the man, she couldn't believe it but from what she was seeing out of the nine within the street only one happened to be a mana beast. She hoped her senior would bring his close soon so she could see if that one too was a mana beast but she had no idea what would happen "Eight of them are civilians!" she called out "One of the eight is a child around ten years old, four look like they're around the age of getting their grimoires and the other four are adults." she called out giving what information she could. Her eyes kept moving back to the actual mana beast near Jett. Her sensory wasn't the best but she felt it like flowers in a garden and right now it felt like a weed choking the life out of the garden with thorns digging into it. "There's something wrong with that one but I don't have enough sensory or understanding of mana beasts to know what, the mana just doesn't feel right to me." she wished she had studied sensory more but perhaps Valintine would be able to help with that if the boot to the head snapped him out of whatever midlife crisis he may have been going through. [break][break] As there was only one she was hoping that they knew of at the current time she was hoping that maybe this would be an easy battle but something in her now twisting gut told her that this was nothing but the start and that put the doll-like mage on edge as much as she didn't like to admit it. She hoped and prayed to the fates and all that was holy that her senior wouldn't do anything he may regret but in battle, she knew collateral damage and loss was a thing, it didn't mean they shouldn't avoid it if and when they could especially from a squad like theirs.
TLDR;[break] I got permission from Vani to do auto-hit, where it will leave Vaile feel like he got slapped by a 20lb fish it does no damage but will make him more than a little wet. Rolls were done to find out the numbers of mana beasts and the likes.

Genesis Fantôme
La Poste
Screams. Shouts. Darkness. All was chaos. All was in disarray.
The daemons must be having a field day, watching these little people fight against imaginary illusions and breaking themselves down in the process. One could only imagine what a riot it must be for those masterminds.
Gen took a steadying breath, keeping herself calm and cool in the midst of all this pandemonium. She grounded herself. There had been confusion among their own ranks, with the other shadow mage falling down from the sky and casting an illusion of sorts. There was also a loud splash or something, but she had not turned to look. She did, however, hear the young voice crying out and heard Nanami’s words, presumably towards Valentine. Goodness, what was going on over there? Her current placement gave her sight of her companions, but not close enough to discern what their every move was.
"They're civilians!"
Upon hearing Hinota’s response to the attackers, she had dropped a quick nod of acknowledgement and gratitude. Vision is quite the blessing, as she had learned. Immediately, she had her remaining dragon golem pounce upon the one closest to the house. Then she herself jumped onto the ‘mana beast’, curling her legs around its long and scaly neck. With her mana, she let a few wisps of shadow wrap around its eyes, attempting to hinder its vision.
“Sorry,” she murmured, “time to sleep.” This time, she aimed to punch at where its temple was. Thankfully, she did not have to follow that up with another punch, otherwise she was not sure how else to stop the raging possession from harming the citizen.
As the illusion on her current target fell, she fell as well, hitting the ground and landing on her side. Instantly she was back up on her feet, though her arm ached at where she landed. No bones were broken, but that still hurt. As she attempted to drag the unconscious man towards the house, the second beast attacked.
Right before it hit her, she made out its shadowy, boar-like features. She barely got her sore arm up in time to protect her face before its tusks goaded into that arm. Her other hand had let go of the deadweight, and with that hand free, she swung her fist out towards its temple to knock it out. At the same time, her feet swung out in a sideways arc, attempting to sweep its front two feet off balance.
Assuming that would work, she would be left staring at the teenager down in front of her. Though her arm ached and throbbed in pain, she stayed standing, looking down at the two bodies near her. Her two hands were balled up in fists, her breathing heavy and stuttering from her fight. These daemons really had no mercy for the innocents. They must not reign. They must not prevail.
In the spur of the moment, she had not noticed that her boots had glowed ever so slightly, just a momentary pulse, right as the boar attacked her. All she had felt was a slight tightening, but that was all. This particular pair of boots had its own strange history, one that continued to baffle and bewilder her thoughts towards its sender. It had been on her mind ever since she received it, and the short note that came with it did not quiet her mind either. But for now, those questions would have to wait, as there were more important matters to deal with at the moment.
Now Gen glanced over at where the other group was, where they were sure to be in their own battles. But since her two comrades were with the captain, she did not worry too much about them. She could sense Vulkan’s mana signature somewhere behind her, on the other side of the house. Was he alone? She had no doubt for his power, even though she had yet to see it in action, but she was worried that he would not know of these illusion-cloaked beasts. After dragging the two unconscious bodies closer to the house, near the front door but not in the way, she would sprint on over to where she assumed the lava mage was, hoping he had heard Hinota’s warnings and had not killed the beast on his side.
That is, if not for yet another shadowy figuring charging upon her...
Summary: Gen knocked out the two intermediate beasts on her side, received some damage, dragged the two unconscious bodies near the house, was on her way over to Vulkan but is getting intercepted by the third mana beast (assuming it's the third INT enemy?)
Damages: JR damage from fall, INT damage (mana skin) from second INT beast attack, Enigmatic Enhancement (endurance from boots) absorbed INT attack damage, leaving Gen with INT + JR mana skin
- If still active, still has Jett's buff - Sustained Ending Solitude (Enigmatic Sentry), -8 mana [3/4 overheat] - Sustained Accélérer, -5 mana - Enigmatic Enhancement (Daemonic Gifts) absorbed INT attack damage - Charlotte's Tea & IC Regen, +15 mana
- Nanami has water and permeation - Charlotte has permeation - Anyone can see perfectly fine indoors, children can see perfectly fine outdoors - Wells have moved, might grow stronger if destroyed (flood/contain/cleanse?) - Daemons don’t depend on the wells for power anymore - Twins left the city for a while (why, for what?) - Charlotte gave them each a lantern, 20m radius, can be broken, will take on the holder’s element - Time limit of three IC days - Only Valo knows Nanami’s secret IC - Must be very specific when bargaining with the daemons - Two/three Purple Orca knights in base, sleeping beauty style, Nanami sent to keep them alive, Charlotte offers to help afterwards with her herbalist and doctor skills - PO may need to give up some squad secrets to destroy the well in the PO base, but there are 3 knights down there - Must not let Nanami get spooked/panic
- Wells shown IC - Enemies: North (1), South (3), East (3), West (3)
Name of the Ability: Ending Solitude Type & Uses: Flow ¦ 4 (uses) ¦ 3 (overheating) Rank & Specialization: Intermediate ¦ Golem Creation Mana Cost: 15 ¦ 8 Range & Speed: 40m ¦ 20 m/s Stats Affected: N/A Description:
The bearer need only tap the smokey quartz-like gem three times with their index finger to activate this ability. An amethyst like smoke seems to creep out of it and creates a cloud around eight meters in each direction soon enough the smoke dissipates and where it once was, sits a pale amethyst dragon around six meters tall by three meters long. Using ammo rules more of these dragons can be created capping at 4 as this is an intermediate spell and is able to carry two persons on their back. This dragon golem seems friendly enough but will follow its owner orders via an unseen magical tether using its long horns, claws, teeth, butterfly-like wings and tail as weapons for attacking. With some time and training, the golems could get advance in development although it also means less would be able to be made.
Elemental Type: Shadow Rank & Spell Type: JR | Physical Reinforcement | Speed Buff Range & Speed: 25m | 10m/s Mana Cost: 10 | 5 Stats Effected: +7m/s Applicable Perks: Full Blitz Description: Genesis wraps nearby shadows around her legs, buffing her movement speed by +2 m/s and Full Blitz giving her an additional +5 m/s. When using this spell on others, she controls their own shadows to wrap around their legs. Following ammo rules, she may buff a target for every 10 Control she has, though the speed buff is reduced by 1 per person buffed.
Rank & Element: Intermediate ¦ Shadow Class & Type: Enchanted ¦ Armour Magic Specializations: Physical Reinforcement Appearance & Lore: "I hope you like the gift."
These finely crafted black leather boots seem to give off an unsettling energy to any that get to close, they come midway up the shin and have seven silver buttons and seem to have an elastic-like band or string that comes behind the boot and loops over the silver buttons to keep the shoes in place.
Lore: After a compliment to an enemy about their boots and where to get a set just like them for themselves, these boots have found their way to their current owner from said enemy with a note that reads "I hope you like the gift. ~Ito" whether it is meant to be a taunt or mocking no-one but the sender knows, still they are a really nice set of leather boots.
Name of the Ability: Enigmatic Enhancement Type & Uses: N/A Rank & Specialization: Intermediate ¦ Physical Reinforcement Mana Cost: N/A Range & Speed: N/A ¦ 20 m/s Stats Affected: Endurance Description: The wearer of these boots may feel a little strange while they wear them, it would almost feel as if nothing in the world could harm them or if they could then it would be a lot harder to do. This is because of the endurance buff they give ignore the damage of a single spell or attack per post equal to the rank, or below the current rank of the boots. If the opposing attacker has +20 power to the wearers durability stat they will deal half that spell’s rank in damage. If they have +30 power, the wearer will not be able to ignore any of the damage. This is able to ignore ALL ammo of the single ability/spell that is ignored.

Wasn’t it annoying? [break][break] How people didn’t know what the words ‘shut up’ meant? [break][break] He covered his ears, but the sound still reached him. Screams and cries, bestial roars, and figures of shadow. The dome was an amalgamation of chaotic fear, torn for the terrors of the dark, a repetition of nightmares that a child could have when they were afraid of their own shadow. He wasn’t scared, he wasn’t angry, but he still felt raw emotion. There was a feeling that grabbed at his stomach and weighed him in place, making his entire body tremble with grief-stricken desperation. [break][break] “B-Be quiet.” [break][break] Who was talking to him now? Who had the right? Who thought they could stop him from making more mistakes? This wasn’t anything that anyone could stop right? He was simply left alone. He should have been left alone to rot with his misguided, erroneous belief that he could have found. her. [break][break] “Gladiolus.” His muttered words formed a spell. From his shadows, a blade came to shape in his trembling hands. Breath came heavy, but movement came swift. [break][break] "Hey..." [break][break] “I said shut up.” [break][break] The blade would’ve come down, it would have struck the other, wandering mage of darkness, it would’ve hurt greatly, perhaps slicing the man’s arm clean off. [break][break] But it didn’t happen because Vaile sensed something wrong. Enveloped in the man who was calling his fake name Valentine, were oddly familiar shadows. It was his own magic, his own mana, and for what reason had he granted a stranger his own pair of darkened shadow wings? [break][break]
Vaile stopped, frozen in time, appearing to not even breathe as shock and terror took over his body. A moment, it was all it took, for crimson red eyes to search for something in the dark. But he was not blessed with a vision of her, instead, he was cursed with his own fallacy. [break][break] Water. [break][break] Water hit him hard. [break][break] He blinked once, then again. Nearly knocked off balance by the sure unexpectedness of the act. [break][break] He was still in silence, his dripping head turning to the source of the lecture he was receiving. Was he the adult here? No, she was right. He was the child. He was worse than a child. He was worse than the most vile thing that one could think of. [break][break] It was always little girls, wasn’t it? [break][break] Dripping water plainly hid tears. Just like shadows covered up an unsettled smile. [break][break] Silence took over the screams, finally it was quiet. All but too. He didn’t hear anything else, not the beasts, not the orders. Nor anyone else who cared to tell him what to do. He stopped and he stared at the crying child being coddled by a Magic Knight. [break][break] The little girl. [break][break] He laughed. Because it was the funniest thing in the world, wasn’t it? No matter what he did, no matter what mistakes he made, no matter how hard he would’ve tried, he never got what he wanted. His laughter held no joy because Vaile Valentine did not know of the meaning of the word. [break][break] “You’re right.” He said. “I’m very stupid.” [break][break] He was. [break][break] He turned to the mage of darkness, nodding his head in apology. “I saw something irrational, so I reacted irrationally. And now, people have gotten hurt from a mistake that I made.” [break][break] It wasn’t a very good excuse, not when his whole life had been riddled with nothing but mistakes. It was sufficed to say that perhaps his existence had been some universal blunder, that his survival over another was nothing but some cosmic joke. That he lived knowing such a chance was true, was a wonder at all. [break][break] “I will tell you now that I came here looking for someone.” As if the explanation was owed, to someone, to anyone. “But I fear that fate will never let me find her.” [break][break] It was what he deserved. After all, someone like him could never be worthy of even caring for her. In his mind that somehow, made sense of it all, he knew that letting that girl remind him of the person he’d lost, was a decision that would haunt him as terrible as his ghost. [break][break] “As of right now, I am in a rational state of mind but I cannot promise that I will remain this way.” He breathed out, letting his shoulders drop down in egregious defeat. “But I must continue my search, I cannot leave here.” [break][break] And perhaps, he would die here. [break][break] What was life other than the burden of living? Feeling pain? Remembering? For Vaile, it was the constant reminder, that burden of knowing, he’d never been good enough. Not for the father that used him. Not for the Mother that lost him. Not for the sister that never loved him. [break][break] “If I am struck down, I will not blame you.” He said. “If you do not kill me, you will see someone else do so.” [break][break] “I… I am not a good person.” Vaile admitted. He set his sword down, kneeling to the ground as he dropped his head further. “But I know that’s what a good person would do.” [break][break] Death, perhaps it would be the end that he craved. It would be the silence to the noise that plagued him. Finally, he would be granted the end of the visions that haunted him. [break][break] Death would be a mercy, of a sort. And yet someone as stupid, as selfish, as careless as he, still feared death. Because if death was the end, it meant he would never see her again. [break][break] But some would say, it was what he deserved.

Got lectured to be a man by Hinota and got water bitch slapped by the little girl. Just hanging out and waiting to die tbh. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ [break][break] Hans and Vaile still have commander apply to them! And Vaile is still maintaining wings on Hans! [break][break] SPELLS:[break] Umbra Aviarius
This perk allows a person's spells to naturally move 5 m/s faster than normal, this increases to 10 m/s at grand rank.
[break]Description: Using his shadow element, Vaile creates a giant-sized longsword, a double-edged straight sword. The blade length is 2 m, 75 cm wide, with a large two handed grip. The giant blade is able to cause major [Senior] Rank damage, which is lethal at a direct hit, can shatter and break bones, slice major/severe cuts, and destroy most non-magical structures. Vaile controls the blade remotely within a range area or he can shoot it off to slice or fire at an enemy from a distance. Vaile is able to create an additional sword per ammo rules.
“When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back.”
Hans called out to the white-haired shadow mage, but he still didn't seem to be doing well. The dark mage then looked over to Valo and Captain Jett, both wanting the merc to bring Valentine over. With a nod, Hans was just about to do that...until he took quick notice of the sword being summoned.
“I said shut up.”
"Valentine?" Hans immediately pulled a sword out of the dark smoke surrounding his armor. ready to use in case the shadow mage tried what it looks like he was about to try. He didn't know what was coming over the shadow mage, why he was having this breakdown all of a sudden, but Hans needed to protect himself...even if it wouldn't have helped him much against someone this strong...and seemingly unstable. The dark mage listened as the Golden Dawn healer tried to get through to Valentine as well, but Hans kept his focus on the shadow mage, not knowing what to expect...
But the shadow mage stopped...
His body seemingly stiffened causing Hans to watch him carefully. Did they manage to get through to him...or was there something else going on in that man's head? So the merc said calmly, "Are you alri-"
Then a shoe made of water had hit the shadow mage's head, a bit of it splashing on Hans' armor from how close he was.
The merc looked over to find the source, seeing that it came from that little girl, Nanami who had a few words to share to the white-haired guy, something Hans was honestly not expecting to hear from her, but it appeared to be helping. That little girl really is something special, the merc thought. But now Hans' eyes were back on Valentine, hearing the laughter spill out of his mouth before talking down on himself.
Red eyes met with the dark mage's black ones as he nodded, starting to speak. Hans wasn't sure what to say...The shadow mage's actions may have caused a lot more damage than either of them have realized...but he wasn't in the right mindset. Hans could relate to some extent. He has had his fair share of breakdowns...and has hurt people by mistake, but nothing as grand as the person in front of him. Whatever happened in Valentine's past...it obviously had a much greater impact than Hans' own.
Valentine continued on, revealing his true motives for being here, making Hans tilt his head slightly. He was here, looking for someone? The real reason why he used that map spell it seems. Now he was talking about getting killed and such which only made Hans shake his head. "Is anyone truly a good person?" A question that was as much for himself as it was for the shadow mage. But now wasn't the time to talk about this.
"You'll be alright." the dark mage claimed...but whether this is true or not remains to be seen. "Whoever this person is...we...I'll help you find her." Hans does not know what relationship this guy has with this mystery girl, but it must've been important to have the shadow mage enter this hellhole to find them. The dark mage stood up and offered a hand to Valentine until...
"Civilian!"
Hans' attention went back to Hinota. "Civili-"
Shit...
Hans immediately turned his attention to where he last saw the "beast" he was handling. It was there...laying on the ground with the illusion slowly fading, having received damage from that shadow spell that was up not long ago. "No..." Hans said under his breath, gritting his teeth as he was now rushing towards the body with help from the wings, nearly tripping on his own feet as he landed. He then dropped to his armored knees and looked. A child...appearing to be no more than ten.
Another child....
"H-hey...hey, stay with me..." Hans muttered just as the cosmic necklace around his neck had started to glow, catching the merc by surprise at first. "I call upon the cosmos...D-double edge sword..." Hans mumbled. The necklace's color changed, the dark part ending up on the inner parts and replaced by the purplish color. The dark mage faced his palm towards the child, attempting to summon the necklace's healing dome...but it instead went over Hans. "Not me...The child!" Hans said with frustration in his tone. He still needed to get the hang of this necklace since at times...it feels like it has a mind of its own. Fortunately, Hans was able to summon a second dome, this time over the child. Just like the one around Hans, the dome was translucent...with a miniature universe surrounding it.
"Please...please work..." he muttered desperately to himself, praying to any gods that would listen. He couldn't have a child die on his watch...but it might have been far too late....

The doll-like mage remained still holding onto the crying Nanami she was quietly singing a lullaby her own nanny had sang her when she was young and in distress. She tried to keep her own emotions in check as she could feel that darkened bile she was so used to feeling nowadays given all the harm she had started seeing people commit on other living things since becoming a magic knight. It was becoming more and more clear she wasn't meant to be anything more than perhaps a nurse or a doctor but that had its own issues she was quite sure, still, it couldn't be any worse than what she kept experiencing... right? It was true that up until she called out if they were civilians or mana beasts the group had no idea but the original three that were in the group had notified everyone that they used children and corpses in the past even their hostess had commented on it but then 'Valentine' had left near the beginning of the information gathering, she was pretty sure now that he was here for his own personal and selfish reasons and cared little for the outcome of Kikka or those who lived within it. Right now however wasn't the best time to call him out for his behaviour. Everyone else had gone defensive while he flew up and landed on a roof as if trying to stay out of the fight, she couldn't blame anyone who wanted to try to take a passive stance but this wasn't the time if they weren't naturally and even if they were they needed to bring something else to the table. [break][break] She then seen that the white-haired male was having a breakdown and looked around thinking perhaps what he had done had caused it, perhaps it was a side effect of his magic. She had read that some people could be affected by their magics but couldn't be quite sure in all honesty. She bit her bottom lip before noticing Nanami had gone into a light sleep. "Well that's good at least." she whispered to herself but looked around seeing three bodies on the ground unmoving, five more injured and a slightly injured mana beast that looked more than a little irked that it had been hurt and aiming for the one who did the damage to it. Civilians got hurt all the time in war and battle but it shouldn't have been them doing it, they were there to save and liberate the city not destroy and raze it to the ground. She knew that there should have been no way that civilians should have been killed as they had been with such a weak attack but the three that were on the ground were children, she thought about it logically of course age factored in as children would be weaker than adults but there was also the fact that they hadn't had light in over two months and being separated from the rest of the kingdom it meant their diets and other supplies would have been limited meaning they wouldn't be as strong as normal healthy people. "They're weakened due to their living conditions most likely." she said softly out into the darkness not wanting to wake the sleeping child in her arms. [break][break] It was then she noticed it, none of the buildings had been harmed and she could see almost invisible hairline fractures near the building, looking behind her she seen Charlotte standing with her hands faintly sitting in her lap, her eyes were glowing a light lavender before she looked out seeing that Hans was trying to save one of the injured children. She took a deep breath as white flames appeared around her as she walked passed Hinota and her child into the darkness her hands going to her chest as if praying "Flames of rebirth I beseech you..." she said from around her seven white phoenixes made of flame came from around her and headed towards the seven injured civilians helping to heal and revive them. She paused for a second as she felt light-headed, she knew the sacrifice of resurrection but done it none the less. Her daughter had been given a second chance and so she would give the parents their own children back even if they had been anything but kind to her and her own child. When she settled herself she moved over to 'Valentine' and knelt next to him bringing him into an embrace that a mother would to a child that was in distress "Shh..." her tone was soothing towards him "Let the shadows, past and daemons glide over you." she whispered almost as warmly as if he were her child, she had no idea what he was seeing or why he was reacting in such a way all she knew was the mother in her wanted to put him at ease. "Everyone has their daemons, their darknesses, their weaknesses just as they have their angels, lights, and strengths... and we are all prone to mistakes." she said bringing his head up so they would be seeing each other eye to eye. [break][break] "No one is truly good nor are they truly evil even these daemons have a balance within them or we'd be having a far worse time than we are having currently." she said her voice gentle towards him as if guiding a lost child "What makes us good or bad are the actions we take when we fall down or make mistakes." she continued her eyes going towards Valo "Valoriss over there is proof that you can be dark in the beginning but with the right push or acknowledgement of your actions you can become a good, strong and honourable person." she said her eyes going back to Valentine "I don't know your circumstances but if you ever need support or just want to talk I will be here for you and you know exactly where I live." she said standing and helping him to his feet "I would be careful with spells however as your colleague has pointed out very few of us are completely healthy and that does make us more likely to get injured by wayward spells." she explained to him turning to se her phoenixes sitting on the individuals injured or that had been killed watching as they either sat up or their injuries completely vanished. "Seems like the three children had died but no harm no foul as their lives have been returned but be careful as I don't think your medic has the same sort of strength in her healing as I have in mind." she whispered kissing him on the temple like a mother would a child before turning back towards her house, he would have enough time to stop her if he wanted to.

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
"They're civilians!" Hinota yelled from a safe place.
That was all the fire mage needed to hear. The last time they learned how dangerous it was to just jump in attacking, he was not going to make the same mistake. "Fureaakuseru V 2" he said simply, his grimoire glowing a red and orange hue. He activated his spell that would increase his speed significantly, allowing to move fast, swiftly and accurately. His switched his silver staff from his right hand to his left, he didn't plan on using it against any civilians the damage from it could be to much. He was going to do this the old fashioned way, the way he preferred mostly his good old hands and feet.
"Eight of them are civilians!" she called out "One of the eight is a child around ten years old, four look like they're around the age of getting their grimoires and the other four are adults." Hinota was able to give even more descriptions on these 'mana beasts.' What she didn't have in battle, she made up for in just overall usefulness, Valo thought. Someone like her was needed on this team.
There was a lot going on in the current situation, almost to much. But right now Valo couldn't let anything distract him from what had to be done, and that was knocking out these poor innocent people. Not wasting another moment Valo took off, in a near blur small harmless embers left where he ran. The leader of this team, the Purple Orca captain Jett activated a restraining spell to try and capture some of civilians without hurting them, Valo would use this to his advantage. At least he wanted to, but things were way off the rails. So much so it was honestly getting hard to keep up with everything going on, the added darkness of the entire town didn't help much either. He stopped in his tracks once he got a better sight of what was going on.
It seemed like the area spell Valentine used ended the illusion attack that was on them, while it seemed like a positive at first it was anything but. His spell had worked but it was a strong one, to strong to be used in an area. His spell hit some of the innocent people that were being used in the illusion, and much to Valo's surprise it killed some of them. It was almost like a repeat of what happened before, here they were again taking life from the innocent people in Kikka. "VALENTINE!!!" Valo shouted at the top of his lungs. The worst outcome of what imagined had already happened.
Valo's eyes lit up in a fury of rage. It seemed like every passing moment he was finding a new reason to turn to anger. He was tempted to go over to the shadow mage and force him out of here, he could careless what kind of trauma he was going through right now. Not when innocent lives were being lost because of his actions. He stopped himself when he saw Nanami's boot made of water splash over him, it seemed she still believed in him. Valo did not.
What did get the young fire mages attention was the last mana beast. He had enough of these mana beasts, he had enough of all this. He moved towards it in a blur of red and orange flames. It was closest to Jett the captain, but the beast itself wouldn't get to do much when Valo reached it and landed a powerful high kick to it's midsection. It did decent damage but not enough to finish it. Valo didn't waste time though, his increased speed worked in his favor letting land another physical attack this time a punch that caused it to move back. With Hinota's confirmation earlier he knew this was an actual mana beast, so he didn't need to hold back.
The mana beast though was nothing to take lightly, it was capable of using earth magic now that it was few meters away. It used it's two large claws and dug them into the earth below, when it brought them back up it threw two large sized rocks at Valo one first and then the other. But Valo's speed and readiness would allow him to dodge the rocks just barely, swaying from side to side.
After avoiding the rocks Valo quickly moved in again, using the opening he twirled his staff in his left hand. It looked just like a spinning silver wheel. The mana beast had it's claws covered in earth making sharp rock made gauntlets it started rushing towards Valo. But Valo was perpared, he swung his weapon fast and hard landing a powerful blow to the mana beasts face as soon as it was close enough. With that last attack it was finished, the exchange between the two was quick. When it was over Valo turned his head back to where Han's, Valentine and now Charlotte were.
Hans was trying to best to hear a child, it was a sad sight and only one person to blame. Valo started taking steps towards Valentine, at this point he didn't care how powerful this guy was or what he was going through. Valo was going to get rid of him. But again Valo stopped in his tracks when he saw some white fire magic being used, white fire phoenixes landed on the bodies of the dead and injured and was healing them. The wide eyed Valo looked on in shock as it was all happening, then turning to the person responsible. Charlotte.
"He needs to leave." Valo said loud enough for anyone to hear. His eyes set on Valentine, his right hand gripping his staff hard. No more mistakes could happen, they couldn't afford it. This Valentine was walking time bomb, and obviously was not here to help Kikka. Only to help himself.
