[attr="class","lonelyscroll"] "You are related to Zaven then...I see..." [break][break] Oh right, a member of the Golden Dawn should have known that name, their Captain after all. And his second cousin. It was true, the Blakes were a family of sorts, though Vaile often disregarded the idea himself. Loyalty was purely through blood, and in truth, he only held half of it. It wasn’t his choice. In other words, it wasn’t something he would have shared if he could have helped it. [break][break] But desperate times called for those so-called desperate measures. He still had this goal, one that he accomplish, regardless of what consequences would befall him later on. For one reason or another, yes, the consequences would have to come later. Justice was a crude construct in the eyes of Magic Knights. But this was how he was supposed to play this game. So he would take a moment, calm down, and play it. [break][break] At least they spoke of reason, and he too could think reasonably. How funny that could be the first worry to come to mind. [break][break] Wondering if someone was rational or not. He’d made his point clear. He was under control, for now. [break][break]
“Done throwing your tantrum?”
[break] The voice in his head only taunted him more. Yes, he was done throwing his tantrum. [break][break] “Thank you,” he said to both of them, because yes, they had agreed to not arrest him. [break][break] And it was time to listen to orders. [break][break] “Yessir.” Vaile responded, thinking that their plan was as alright as it could be. The lava mage enjoyed making his point even further, explaining how he thought. The maladies of social interaction were a necessary evil for the sake of clear communication. There was little else for him to add, so he didn’t say anything else. [break][break] “Aviarius.” Vaile spoke the name of his spell, and from his grimoire, shadows flickered and took a fluid form. Crawling up their backs, cold gripped the very center before spreading out into a set of wings, unique to each of them. Vaile allowed the other two to take flight first. [break][break] How trusting Knights were, for one to swear so sweetly and give their word, and suddenly they were comrades in arms. But he knew he was stuck, stuck in that rock and proverbial hard place. He’d given his word, he’d sworn on his sister’s name, and even if there was a feeling in his chest that left him so unsettled and unfair, he’d had to keep it. [break][break] “Conscienta.” He said as he took to the sky as well, and his grimoire flipped through more dark pages. Shadows took the form of the surrounding area, a holographic map with blinking lights that signified himself, the Golden Dawn, and the Purple Orca’s Captain at the very least. He was trying again, for what? Still, he searched for his platinumed tier mage, but perhaps he was searching for something else. These wells? These other mages? Would daemons themselves even register to his sensory abilities? Perhaps those prisoners, or even other civilians… he would let the others know if anything so happened to make its presence known, or if would be allowed to know anything at all. [break][break] This was the daemons’ game, rigged as it was, they were all players. [break][break] Their Orca’s Captain seemed to be all in his head with his rage and redundancy. As Vaile himself had said, babysitting wasn’t their job, so neither would it be his. Even as brash as he was to think that the mental stability of knights should come into question. It was ironic. Almost funny and yet still wasn’t laughing, not quite yet. [break][break] Of course, before they had been whisked here with suffocating shadows was something about promises, deals made and not. Words likely meant something, though he didn’t care to listen because a Daemon had said them. Some food for thought, perhaps, if any of it had mattered to him. Quite frankly, Vaile could have thought the daemons could have bored people to death with their talk rather than outright kill them. Still, it would be just as successful with whatever melodramatic spin they felt the need they had to put on everything. [break][break] The thought came to mind of Daemons and their sense of righteousness, if they had one at all. They could take pity on things and people, apparently, but that was wrong in Vaile’s mind. It was either an act, or a lie, or something else untrue. Because to Vaile, the otherworldly hellspawns known as ‘Daemons’ weren’t people. They didn’t deserve pity, deals, or otherwise. Even if they criticized human compassion and shortcomings, even if Vaile had something to say about that himself, it was a moot point. Yes, there was enough tragedy to go around. [break][break] Yes, Vaile Valentine hated Magic Knights for their failure against the Daemons. [break][break] He could blame the Magic Knights for taking his sister’s soul, for not saving her when they should have. He could blame the Daemons for taking her away entirely. He could blame himself for not being able to do anything about it. [break][break] But he’d already placed that guilt upon himself. The other parties involved, of Knights and Daemons, felt nothing in that regard. And perhaps he hated that even more. [break][break] And he could throw a tantrum about that all he wanted. [break][break] He kept his feelings quieted, even if anger still burned just below the surface. It wasn’t his place to talk because now he had to listen, be careful, and not lose control. A slip of sanity was just as easy as a slip of the tongue. He was already on thin ice. It was better not to break it more. [break][break] So he kept his spell up, his eye on his map, and still yet, reached with his sensory to find that familiar signature, hope still dwindling that he would reach her. Wind, however artificial, did pick up locks of silver hair in this dome of shadows. [break][break] And yet he did make a promise, so he had to keep it.

Also brings up his map again because he's searching for espresso depresso still?? Broods over hating Daemons, Magic Knights, and himself. [break][break]
Commander is in effect for himself, Vulkan, & Jett giving everyone a dandy +3 stat points
Fast Lane:Transportation spells may give an additional 5 meters a second faster than normal. Once they become Grand rank this increases to 10 meters a second.
[break] Description: Vaile creates a pair of raven’s wings extending from the small of his back. From tip to tip the wingspan is 5 meters long, with shadow 'feathers' appearing to constantly wither and fall from them. The wings appear to be made of solid shadow and grant Vaile independent flight ability, also increasing their maneuverability and overall speed. Besides creating wings for himself, he is able to create wings for allies and other targets, however, they must remain within his range. The maximum number of wings Vaile can create is equal to the normal passenger number for a senior transportation spell (5).
This perk allows a person to have their AoE spells to have their max size increased by 10 meters + 5 meters per rank they are starting at junior.
[break] Description: Vaile fully concentrates his magical sensory skills on everything around him within a ranged radius, shadow tendrils extend from where she stands and branch out along the ground. They are pure black, thin and have no physical substance. The tendrils can even go unnoticed unless a target has enough sensory to see them, acting similarly to an illusion, they are hidden from a target's sense of sight and further cannot be sensed by an enemies' mana sensory skills unless following the regular seeing through illusion guidelines. He can conjure a 3D model of the surrounding area made of her shadow element, about 5 cubic meters in size. Movements and enemy mana signatures are detected via disturbance in the shadows' extensions, appearing like glowing dots on the map. Vaile can attempt to detect mages or other presences who are hiding their mana signatures from him regarding the normal tracking guidelines. Similarly, Vaile can also attempt to see through illusions following the sensory guidelines.

“You.”
"Shh, we're in a library. Please keep your voice down."
She had not been that loud. Well, at least, she did not think it was. The redhead glanced around the library. Her volume dropped just a tad, but her words were still loud and direct. “You’re the only one here,” she pointed out. “And you were expecting us.” She pointed to herself and Hans, assuming he was there with her in the library. Silence was only needed when there were others. But now, it was just the three of them.
"I see your control hasn't gotten any better in the last two months you are still a hothead."
He sounded...disappointed. Well, he was not wrong. Personality wise, there has only been very slight changes in the shadow mage. Not much, truthfully. “You haven’t changed either,” She tossed the comment back at him with a wry tone, now pointing with her chin towards his direction. “Tea, cake, book...all that you’re missing is a fireplace and some background music.” Her tone was almost snide, but she could not help it. She just always felt so prickly and defensive around him.
"I see you got my gifts however, how are they aiding you?"
At this, the red-haired woman slid her gaze briefly over to the dark mage, trying to gauge if he picked up on the implications. To her knowledge, only she knew the origin of the items she had on her. No one had asked about their strange appearances, and thus she thought she would be able to escape any scrutiny in those very questionable gifts. Apparently not...not with the way the sender himself was exposing her like that. The rose gold bracelet on her wrist and the boots she was wearing suddenly felt very heavy.
“They work?” she answered slowly. Just how much information was she willing to divulge to someone who seemed to already know so much about her? “But...why?” The daemon confused her to no end. Insulting, corrective, yet still sending her gifts—logically, that does not add up in her mind. Do all daemons have these types of strange personalities? “And uh...I guess, thanks?”
Then she glimpsed something on the table. “Is that...” She never finished her sentence, only grimaced and covertly stepped in front of the mercenary, attempting to block his sight from that magazine on the table. But on second thought, it had a Clover-wide publication, so why was she even trying to hide it? Did she really care if Hans had seen it before? In addition, the mercenary did not seem like the type to peruse over the latest fashion magazine, right? With a sigh, she resumed her previous position.
Still, though, she had to ask. “Why do you have that here?” Her tone was almost disdainful, as if she was shaming whoever it was presented on the cover. In a way, she was. It was a one time gig, and after getting the yul from it, she had promptly forgotten about it. Little did she know that it would not be her only time in that modeling position. Though, that was not the only thing she noticed in that library. Just behind the sitting daemon was a white bird cage of some sort, and there seemed to be a bluish flame in it. What was that?
But before she could ask about it, she sensed another presence coming their way. Footsteps. Then the door swung open.
The shadow mage snapped her head up, tilting slightly back towards the door but she did not move her body. With a daemon in front of her and an unknown presence behind her—she did not have eyes on both sides of her head, she could not keep both in her line of sight at the same time. It was not a very good position to be in, to have her back exposed either way.
“I am June Silva, a member of the Silver Eagles. I’ve come to provide support against the daemon occupation of this town. Identify yourselves.”
It was a feminine voice that rang out. A Silver Eagle, a Magic Knight. If she took that at face value, they should be on the same side. Should be. Gen decided to keep her attention facing the real threat in the room. “There’s your daemon,” She cocked her head towards the one in question, but did not address the last part of the knight’s words. The redhead was no knight, not even a hireling. She was just there.
But she was here now, and her mission was clear. Probably not a good idea to fight indoors—she was not too keen on blowing another place up. So then, how could they draw him outside? She doubted if taunting and challenging him to a spar would work. No, he would not be so dumb to fall for that. Perhaps...
Grey eyes focused once more behind the daemon, on the interesting bird cage with the glowing flame. She did not know what it was, but it could not be just there as a source of light. What if...

"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back."
“I’m fine. Did you lose anything?”
Hans did a brief scan of his body and looked over at his greatsword on the ground before shaking his head. "Still in one piece." He said, helping the redhead up if need be. He then went for his greatsword and lifted it up, placing the weapon back into its sheath. He took a look around once again just as the shadow mage did...Still no signs of the others. They got separated by Ito, that much was obvious. There was no need to stand around, and question why this happened, nor panic about it. Wherever the others ended up, Hans was confident that they could handle themselves. For now, they needed to push forward, and thankfully, Gen was on the same page.
"Right." The merc listened to Gen and nodded before looking over at the exit. He knew full well that the "him" she was referring to was that daemon. Prepared, Hans walked out of this building with the shadow mage, and started to observe his surroundings, trying to feel out any presence with his mana as well. The town still appeared very depressing and dark with barely a soul in sight. It's been months since Hans has first stepped foot into this town...before all of this happened. He had long forgotten how this town truly looked, the happy faces that once filled the streets...All but a distant memory. To have your entire home taken from you like this...Hans could only imagine how he would've felt if this were Aries Garse.
Then his mind shifted to Valo, remembering how frustrated and angry he was right before they were all separated. To be toyed with in such a terrible way...Hans couldn't blame him at all. He has every right to be furious....but the merc still hopes that the fire mage can keep his head on straight both during, and after all of this...if there will be an after.
“I think it’s this way,”
Hans looked over at the shadow mage and then turned his attention to where she was talking about. The merc did not question this, and instead placed his hand onto the hilt of his greatsword, and slowly unsheathed it. The atmosphere of that area certainly felt more sinister than the rest. He glanced back at Gen to see if she was prepared and gave the woman a nod to indicate that he's ready, and as the door opened, a faint aura of darkness surrounded the merc similar to Gen's dancing shadows.
Stepping in, the two were greeted by a familiar figure casually sitting down with tea and book in hand. The merc trained his eyes on the daemon, keeping his sword at the ready. It didn't matter how comfortable Ito looked, with the abilities he has shown so far, Hans knew not to take him lightly. Gen and Ito were now talking among each other, the daemon seemingly ignoring the merc's presence. Hans picked up that Ito had some sort of interest in Gen, but he didn't really care to point it out...until he brought something up that caught Hans' attention. Gifts? Hans may not have said this out loud, but it was clear by the look on his face that he was questioning this. The merc looked over at the shadow mage, trying to figure out what they were on about. She then responded, which only served to increase the merc's curiosity as he brought his attention back to Ito. Did she accept gifts...from this daemon? Hans quietly tried to wrap his mind around what these gifts were despite it being obvious as well as why she would accept them in the first place...that doesn't involve her being suspicious.
Unlike Valo and Gen, Hans was completely out of the loop. No daemons have ever tried monitoring, or reaching out to him in the form of hushed whispers and such...at least not to his knowledge. He was an outlier among the returning trio.
The shadow mage then tried to covertly step in front of Hans as she continued to speak with Ito, seemingly bothered about something. Raising an eyebrow, Hans lowered his sword so that the tip could be pressed against the floor while still holding it by the handle with one of his hands. He then peeked over the redhead and noticed an...interesting magazine with the image of a modeling woman....who bears a striking resemblance to the shadow mage. The man smirked lightly before glancing back at the redhead. "You too, huh?" The man said to Gen in jest before looking back at Ito, vaguely referring to his own...unfortunate modeling adventure....Well, he wouldn't say that it was completely unfortunate given who his modeling partner was....
Then the door behind them opened, and Hans perked his head up a bit. Unlike Gen, Hans didn't turn around to see who this was and instead kept his eyes on Ito in case he would try something. Whoever came in, sounded feminine, and identified themselves as June Silva, claiming to be from the Silver Eagles. Reinforcements....or another trap crafted by the daemons? Hans did not need to speak since the shadow mage gave out what was necessary. Like her, the dark mage did not give out his name either...but instead focused on remaining alert. He has no idea how all of this is going to go down...so all he could do is observe.

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
- Flashback -
"He's worthless." the voice of Valo's father Varen Stark. His words hung in the room for a moment, before Valo's mother cried in disagreement.
"Don't you dare say that about my son! Don't you dare! How would you know!? Hm!? You left him! You left us! And why!?" She shouted at him, her emotions and anger were at a high. Her teary eyes, staring right into Varen's own.
But the towering man had no emotions on his face, no real feelings at all. He looked more bored than anything else. "He's weak. He's an embarrassment. His grimoire is a one leaf? two leaf at best? He'll be lucky if he becomes a common foot soldier. If that." Varen replied with a harsh coldness in his voice. "He has no talent for House Stark. He has no use. Him and you were a mistake. Mistakes I will never have to see again."
A young Valo hiding behind the staircase of his home, looking at up the man called his father. A man he doesn't even remember seeing or meeting at all. Tears falling down his cheek, but his eyes focused and determined. He spoke almost silently to himself. "I-I'm not...I'm not worthless..."
- End Flashback -
Charlotte. Nanami. Are dead. A harsh truth, a sad one. The broken fire mage stumbling walking through the wreckage of the home. Burnt walls and floors, wood burnt to cinder. Everything was burnt and destroyed in the house, just about nothing could be salvaged from the wreckage. Valo's eyes blank as he looked through it all. He had to find the bodies, he refused to leave them like this. He would find them and give them the proper burial that they deserved, and no one or anything would stop him.
"She still protected them..." the words of Hinota from Golden Dawn reached his deaf ears. He paused for a moment taking that thought in. She still protected them? Did she care that much? Even when losing her family, she still cared for them. Anger and fury started to rise in the young magic knight, his breathing getting heavier and his hands started to heat up with a small stream of smoke rising from them. But it stopped. It stopped when he felt a warm hug coming from behind, one that he did not expect. It calmed him, calmed him enough to subdue his anger for now. He placed his left hand over her arm, a sign that he was still here and not yet completely lost.
Valo nodded once in agreement, Kikka could wait for now. Revenge and Daemon's could wait. The pacifist spoke of a solid idea, using the last lantern to block them from the darkness. He walked in further towards the end of the house, a small patch of a burnt white dress could seen right under some wreckage. Valo stumbled towards it, and slowly picked up some of the wreckage just to get a peak to see if he found what he was looking for. And he did. The burnt bodies of an innocent mother and her child.
A loud thud could be heard coming from behind the pair of magic knights, Valo would pay it little mind almost none at all. Nothing would stop his focus on giving Charlotte and Nanami the proper send off that they deserved. Whoever made the sound was immediately asking questions, questions that would go in one and right out the other. His eyes locked on to the two bodies on the floor.
He could tell by the embrace, Charlotte never let Nanami go. She was a true mother and a true hero. The image was difficult to see at first, but Valo continued. Nanami first. Valo picked up the remains of the little one, with utmost caution using both arms. And took her body back outside, and walked to the back of the house. If memory served him correctly they should have a nice tall tree in the backyard, that should do for a burial for now. Luckily the tree was still there, and so he began the burial. Placing one body right beside the other, Valo began to dig with a nearby shovel. With his increased physical abilities and the help of Hinota if she decided to help, it wouldn't take long at all. Before long they were about done.
Valo went back to the home, and took the last remaining lantern and lit it with his own blue flames. With more light available now, Valo saw a broken burnt frame with a picture inside. A picture still in decent condition, with Charlotte, Nanami and James. The mother, father and daughter all in one picture.
- Flashback -
A young Valo in the backyard of a familiar house, the backyard was full of crops and vegetables. A tall tree at the end of it. The hungry looking boy, snatched a handful of corn and potatoes and tossed them in a sack. He was about to run off, but stopped when he heard a sweet tone of voice. "You know you don't have to steal that..." the sweet tone said to him.
Valo looked back and saw a young beautiful women, holding a baby in her arms. A purple orca mantle pinned on the right side of her cloak that was draped over her shoulders. She was smiling at Valo a very warm and welcoming look on her face. "You can have some anytime you like." she continued as she cradled her baby. "My names Charlotte and this is Nanami." she gestured to the baby in her arms. "What's your name?" she asked.
"Aahh Sorry! Lady! I gotta go." he replied in a startled tone running off. A tiny ember of flame flashed for a second right above his ankles, Charlotte noticing and smirking.
"Valorisse Kolivan Stark!! How many times have I told you! Stop stealing!" the harsh loud voice of his mother, stopped him in his tracks. A flushed embarrassed look on her face, as she stood in front of him and grabbed the sack of vegetables from his hand.
"Sorry about that...he's got some bad habits." she said to Charlotte. Holding the bag out for her take back.
"Oh its no bother at all, truly. Valorisse is welcome to our food anytime." Charlotte replied with a smile.
- End Flashback -
Back outside he placed the lantern on the ground right on the top of their graves, the picture still in his hands he looked at it once more. Tears falling down in the picture, he wiped them off and carefully slid the picture in one of his satchel pockets. A picture he would protect and treasure for the rest of his life. Now that everything was done and prepared, they only thing left was to send them off silently. Assuming Hinota would be close, he would look towards her and nod. If the man called Bengal was also still around he would nod towards him as well. "Please. Just a few moments of silence." was all Valo said before sitting on his knees closing his eyes and bowing his head in silence. Paying his proper respects to a mother and daughter he viewed as family.
- Flashback -
"I keep telling ya. If you need help just call out for me, and i'll come running as quickly as I can." Valo said carrying little Nanami in his arms, they both had scuff and dirt marks over their clothes. Valo had a bruise on his cheek, and Nanami was perfectly fine aside from a tear in her little dress.
"Ok. Valo. You promise?"
"I promise always."
Valo carried Nanami home which was not to far away, and knocked on the door. Charlotte opened the door and had the look any mother would have. But her concern was broken, when Nanami greeted her with a wide smile and open arms.
"Mommy! Don't worry I'm ok! Valo is always around to watch me!" she said embracing her mother.
Charlotte smiled picker up her daughter, and looked at Valo. "Thank you Valorisse. She keeps running off to far, but your always around thank you for that. Oh no your cheek!" Charlotte said placing her hand where his bruise was. A warm tingling white flame healed the bruise in a matter of seconds.
"It's alright! It's nothing! Stop with the healing." Valo said in a cocky tone, tossing a flame ember of his own back and forth between his hands. Both fire users but Charlotte was way more advance than he was. "Fire is the element of power! Not healing! You gotta show me some of those awesome fire power moves I know you used to use." Valo said with excitement.
Charlotte's face looked rather comically disappointed. "Fire is the element of life, power and creation. You know this, I tell you this all the time. If you'd listen you probably could have learned how to heal by now. That would a great addition for any magic knight." Charlotte lectured him, walking into her kitchen and bringing back a cup of tea.
Valo now taking a seat at the dining table. "Yea. Yea. Who needs it." he replied with a disinterested tone.
"Speaking of. Any more thoughts about joining the magic knights. I know we talked about it a little before, but I think it would be so good for you." Charlotte said sliding Valo a cup of tea, taking a seat and sipping on her own.
There was hesitation in his voice. "I-I don't know. With my background a lot of the squads won't have me. A-and. I'm just a lousy street kid, sometimes I just think I ain't good eno- Owe! " Valo's sentence was cut short when Nanami ran over and kicked him in the shin, like she always did when she was upset with him.
"Stop it! Valo your the best ever! You're always there to protect me and other people and all my dolls! And you can join the best squad there is! Green Mantis! They always give people second chances! And then you can work with Artemis Sommerset! She's gonna be the best water mage there is one day! Then I'll come and join you guys when I get older! and it'll be the three of us! Me and Artemis! and you were gonna be the best knights ever! " Nanami said clutching her Artemis doll in her hand, obviously excited.
Even though she was just a little girl, anytime she spoke like that it would give Valo all the confidence he needed. He smiled and replied . "Your right Nanami. Thank you. I think I will set my eyes on Green Mantis." he said while ruffling her hair
"Yeeeeeaaaaaaa."
Charlotte looked at the two with a smile.
- End Flashback -
Valo got up after a few moments of silence, his eyes no longer sunken and devoid of life. It looked like the life was finally coming back to him, of course the heavy sadness still and always will weigh heavy on his heart. He had to press on. Now was not the time to lose faith, it was not the time to give in to despair. The fire mage took a deep breath and let it out from his nose as hot smoke. He placed his right hand on the graves. "I will respect your last wishes Charlotte. I love you both and i'll miss you." he said finally rising up to his feet.
Now back to his feet, Valo cracked his neck and stretched out some of his limbs. Before reaching his stretched arm out with an open palm. "Zoka." he said simply his silver staff that he left on the ground came flying back to him in mere seconds. He caught it and started spinning it between his fingers.
He looked at the large man named Bengal finally getting a good look at him, he could tell the man was powerful beyond measure. He remembered him asking a series of questions earlier, but considering Valo was focused on something else entirely he probably missed a few. But he would give the man a few answers if Hinota didn't already. But Valo's answers would be kept short, sweet and simple. Valo's dragon golems still active, that have been waiting for his call this whole time. Using a mana tether he called them to his side, hoping on one quickly.
"I like to keep things simple. We're on our way to stop a Daemon. I don't know where the captains are, they can take care of themselves. You are more than welcome to join us. But...when we see...her. She may want to talk first. It would be wise to talk first...it's complicated. Hinota we should go." Valo said simply and left it at that, he would hold a hand out for the pacifist if she needed it to get one top of his dragon golem
"Thank you for earlier." he said to her, referring to her hug and the help with the burial.
Without wasting anymore time he took off in the skies towards the Purple Orca Headquarters. If Bengal wanted to follow it was up to him.
BATTLE: Speed = 15 m/s. Valo buried Charlotte and Nanami, through a series of flashbacks anime style involving the family, he found his resolve and presses on to meet Lilitu

The sad and horrible truth was sinking in for the pair of magic knights, their pregnant hostess and her bubbly child were no longer with them, to make it worse they hadn't been within the world for at least a month. She had only met what she had believed to be the mother and child around an hour ago and she was still grief-stricken at the loss of life, she also felt that vile well trying to overflow but kept it pushed down knowing that if it did then it would end up in to much death. She couldn't imagine how this was affecting the fire mage, he had seemed so close with them before. It seemed however that he had a single-mindedness to find them and put them to rest. She couldn't blame him for this, to her everyone good or evil deserved last rites and be allowed their peace in whatever lay beyond it. [break][break] The doll-like mage had followed him into the burnt home, nothing from what she could see had survived the inferno their home had become. The scent of the burnt wood and walls assaulted her nose and where it didn't seem to affect the very obviously grief-stricken yet numb green mantis mage it was affecting her and so she released a gentle miasma with the scent of lavender. She knew what he was doing and she wouldn't stop him, in fact, she would help him hunt for them. They needed peace and he needed closure and for his mind to be put at ease. It was clear he wasn't taking anything in, he was hyperfocused on his personal task and she didn't blame him. [break][break] That, however, changed with four words. 'She still protected them' those four words had made the deaf mage hear once more and caused him to stop in his tracks as he came to the realisation. Even as these people stole her life and the lives of both her unborn and four-year-old daughter she had still done everything she could to keep the town and its people safe from the flames they themselves had started. These words seemed to have angered the mage but it did make her wonder why she didn't protect herself or use her magic to escape the blaze, she wanted to ask Valo if he knew but she thought it would be insensitive. She just put herself in the woman's shoes and realised that if she left then what could have awaited them would be far worse than the unforgiving flames that had snuffed out their lives. She hadn't even noticed the steam or the smoke rising from his clenched hands as she hugged him, she just knew he needed to know he wasn't alone in his pain. [break][break] Her eyes went wide as she felt his hand on her arm and though her natural instinct was to scream out she just remained there for a long moment silent. Letting go she followed him deeper into the house being careful where she stepped amongst the burnt wreckage as there was no way of knowing where it was safe to stand or if something would come tumbling down on them. She was glad that he agreed to her suggestion, though as he seemed to have found something under the wreckage a noise caught her attention and made her move closer to the fire mage almost out of instinct. "Valo." she whispered after the thud but it was clear he wasn't listening which put her in a bit of a predicament if it came to fighting due to her pacifism. [break][break] Sure enough in the doorway stood a giant of a man, her eyes flicked to Valo for a moment before she stood in front of him as if using her fragile frame would do anything against the mountain in front of her but she would still try if it came to that. Soon after the pair were hit by a myriad of questions, she had no idea if Valo was listening but she would at least answer the stranger. "My name is Hinota and this is Valo." she said introducing them as the man had done so himself. "We were chosen by the wizard king to come to help the people of Kikka and free the town from the darkness enshrouding it." she explained to the man "This house belonged to a woman named Charlotte. Her child was spared by the daemons but she was marked due to it, the townspeople couldn't take their anger out on the ones that deserved it and so killed the pregnant mother and her daughter for something that was out of their control." her voice was filled with sorrow as she spoke. [break][break] "The daemoness Lilitu made them wraiths, they held all their former memories and magic it seems because the pair seemed to have acted as they did in life, to the point, not even someone who had known them most their life could tell the difference." she continued watching as Valo uncovered the cremated remains of a mother hugging her child as if shielding her from their impending deaths. "The townspeople here killed them for a crime they didn't commit and a connection to beings they didn't ask for. Still, she protected them when the flames were biting at her and her child's skin, even as a wraith she set traps to protect people from the danger of the daemons and mana beasts." she finished moving to help Valo the best way she could but something caught her eye and she moved to a distant wall that seemed to have a hole in it. It would have been easily missed especially in this destruction but to her, it just seemed out of place. [break][break] "Why are you here Bengal?" she asked clear confusion heard in her tone as she seriously had no idea who the hell he was, her hand going out gently to take loose bricks from the wall revealing a small box. She could only imagine it had defence magic on it as it seemed untouched by the fire, taking it out she put it into her sleeve for a moment. She wasn't looting the place but she had seen Valo going into the backyard and didn't want to get separated so inspecting the contents would have to wait till later, she knew they shouldn't really allow each other to go out of sight in case something happened. "There were to groups of seven sent but the daemon Ito separated this group and we've had no communication from the other." she said honestly moving to get a second shovel to help dig the graves, due to her families taboo on touching the dead amongst other things she couldn't help with that part but then she thought this part would have been something that the fire mage would have personally wanted to do anyway. [break][break] Soon enough they were covering the bodies with soil once more before Valo went to retrieve her lantern, she followed at a distance and noticed he too had picked something up but he was shedding tears once more, she was unsure if hers had even stopped, though she realised her eyes were stinging. "Captain Blake and Captain Kasai are with the other group, Captain King was with ours but as you can see and I have informed you our group got split up by daemons." she said watching as Valo moved to hang the lantern. Biting her bottom lip she touched the lantern glowing with a blue flame and soon all sorts of colourful petals started to fall from it, a faint smell of jasmine coming from them. "It's not much Valo, but they deserve beauty and not to smell burnt wood." talking about the house and the lack of life around them, she just hoped their souls would now be at peace. Hearing his words Hino nodded. [break][break] She moved to her knees in front of the graves and put her hands together her eyes closing and she started to whisper something almost silently under her breath. Although she wasn't a priestess she was giving them final rites, she forgot all about Bengal for the moment. She had heard his grunt when he saw her. She knew she didn't look like she belonged there due to her appearance and strength, but didn't care if the bear of a man believed she was suited to this war or not she was here and would do her part. Hearing the fire mages words she got up and brushed herself off. As Valo was speaking to Bengal she got a communication spell from the other group she hadn't expected to hear the voice from the same peach haired male she had met in Raque only a few months before. [break][break] "Oh, hello Joseph" she said her voice filled with surprise but also still filled with sorrow. "Where to start with that one. We met up with a former magic knight named Charlotte but we just found out that she and her daughter were murdered by civilians because of circumstances outside of her control. That the daemoness Lilitu made them into wraiths and can give her wraiths memories." she said almost sounding like she was ready to cry. "We found out destroying the wells might make them stronger. That the twins want to perish. That only Sven uses shadow. Ito the male daemon uses Darkness and another unknown element his sister uses wraith and pure aura." she explained believing it was important for him to know. "Um... one of our group killed three children, it seems due to being cut off from light and a balanced diet they're weaker so be careful if you attack." she said trying to recall anything else important "Oh! If you can get into a house you can see perfectly, that means even through illusions." she said knowing that was important "We've also been split up, I am with the Valo. We have no idea where anyone else is but we're about to bury the mother and child before heading to the purple orca base." She really hoped the info was useful even if it was rushed. [break][break] She looked to Valo "The other group have been separated also from what I have just been told." she said sharing the information with Valo as she took his hand to get on the back of his dragonic golem "Joseph's is going towards a well. Is there anything we should find out from them?" she asked before turning to the small singing bowl that was acting as a medium "Where are the captains?" she asked wondering if he might know but she wasn't going to hold her breath on that one. "Any information you might have might be useful to us." she finished hoping that he would give her some information in return but somehow she felt her group may have been more informed than the others. [break][break] "A-ah yes." she said almost startled as she said they should get going, it wasn't like she could say no as she was sat on the back of his golem but she knew she should at least acknowledge that they were going. "Think nothing of it after all Valo, you aren't alone in this." she said with a gentle tone bringing out the box now and opening it, there were a few trinkets but there was a photo. One clearly treasured. "I... I think this you should keep Valo." she said holding the picture with two hands. The picture was an image of him much younger with Nanami when she was around one or two years old playing. "There's something on the back Valo." she said noticing as the picture was taken. [break][break] On the back was a note that dated the year, day and month that the image had been taken but also said: [break][break] 'My dearest Valoriss and precious Nanami may your lives be as calm as the flowing river and filled with the light of the passionate flames. Never forget who you are, where you came from or the dreams that came with it. It is true the world can be a cruel place where people may not see your true worths, but, those are not the ones you should listen to. Allow their darkened flames to make your own stronger, where the spirits themselves will have to take notice of the true treasures you are. Fight and get stronger but don't lose the compassion of the flames or the gentleness of the water along the way.'

The mantis was less than helpful and appeared to be in mourning. Satori could understand being shaken by the death of those you may care for, but it was a reality that couldn't stall oneself during a state of emergency.
The words that had been spoken on the mother and child's corpses caused his eyes lids to lower slightly as he examined the grave. Not offering to assist, not because he was being rude, but because to him this was something for those dear to them to do. Not some random stranger such as him. However, he did wait patiently for the two to finish their work and raised a hand causing the grimoire of leather and bone to rise into the air.
Rapidly flipping through its pages before he snapped, causing a dull silver light to suddenly wash over both the mantis and the dawn members. Healing any damage to their mana skin, bodies, as well as amplifying their traveling speed. They'd been hard digging, and considering the circumstances, he saw no reason not to travel with them. Mending the damage to their hands and any fatigue that they'd built up would assist.
Though, the mantis' next comment caused him to shake his head with a sigh. At least he seemed to shake himself free of the depression to focus. A slow breath passed between his lips as he gave his short explanation, he wasn't concerned about the Captains being too weak.
"I'm trying to figure out why they're not here with you two, I know they can handle themselves," he stated dryly, he'd already worked with several of them. If they couldn't handle themselves in this mess then they were all pretty fucked.
Thankfully, a bit of useful information was offered at least. They knew the location of the "Daemon", though the way he phrased it made it seem more likely to be an Arch-Daemon of some sort. Hopefully. If they were just mentioning a Daemon general as that, it would be a bit of a pain.
"I have no stakes in this," Satori stated bluntly, "Clover is my ally, but I'll do what feels right to me," his gaze shifted over the building briefly. Closing his eyes once, there was a story here, but whether that story mattered to him would have to wait.
"If she wants to talk, then we'll talk," he explained simply as he lifted a hand and caused the spells to amplify even further. Infusing both of them with far more speed, as well as resistance to a plethora of effects. The soft crackle of electricity flickering around them while Satori rested his hands on his hips with a brief sigh.
The other one, Hinota as she introduced herself, explained quickly, though not concisely.
"Summary being the townsfolk attacked their own out of frustration and committed a brutal murder. The daemon raised them as wraiths and they've been protecting the town despite them being their murderers." He stated simply, to the point and blunt. None of these people mattered to him from an emotional standpoint. He was here for logical reasons, a bunch of people dying due to battle, rebellion, war, it was normal. These were not his people. It was not his job to make that call on whether they were wrong or right.
"I'm here to help my friends," Satori replied bluntly to Hinota's question. "Ardere is here, and his soldiers are here. Therefore, so am I." He stated simply before shifting his gaze upward. Ardere was a friend, that was all the reason he needed. Zaven and Lydia were... acquaintances, but he liked them well enough. He wouldn't be here for them unless they asked, however, unlike Ardere.
"The town is Clovers. Judgment is something that matters later and is not my job. Finish your mourning as best you can, then take me to the enemy. Death happens in battle, even to civilians. You'll have time to be emotional later--right now I believe your job is to handle the threat." It wasn't as though Satori didn't understand, and his tone was not unkind. But it was firm and to the point. Death was natural, and to be expected in these situations. Letting it tangle you, bring you down, and distract you from the main issue at hand was asking for more people to die.
"I'll protect you to the best of my ability." With this his grimorie rapidly began to turn pages, swirling as several spells were activated at once. Enhancing himself as well as the two younger wizards with a wave of his hand. The static electricity rapidly increasing, bursting with silver light over them both to tremendously augment their speed and recovery.

[attr="class","textie"]They needed to move quickly, Vulkan wasn't keen on lingering, and dragging out this needless charade any further. So the moment Vaile cast his magic Vulkan shot diagonally into the sky heading towards where he felt the presence of mana from. Though as expected his vision was even further obscured from up high. So instead he settled for a middle ground hover, just barely at the height of the houses, and he continued onward. The only reason he had asked for this spell to be used was because it was almost twice as fast to travel this way. The two Daemon had talked to their fill, but he didn't respond to them at all, he was singlemindedly pursuing the mana well. Sparing not even a glance to Vaile, or Jett he landed on the ground when he felt he got close enough, holding out his free hand another lance appeared in it, and he prepared to attack.
"I do not know what kind of magic you possess...But need to hit this thing with everything we've got, and be ready within a second to react in case it does something we don't expect. Such as explode, or blow up the city...If you understand that...Let us end this." the cold logic he used was on full force here as he saw need to listen to the response of the female Daemon. After all they were Daemon as far as he was concerned anything they didn't want him to do, he would do regardless. Aiming one of his lances he hurled it at the mana well. This was more of a test to see what would happen if he damaged it, or even destroy it If there was no adverse reaction he would do so again, and again until it was no more.
There was also the possibility of this place being littered with traps, and stepping on one could spell doom for the three of them, but with Jett's defensive magic he knew they would survive regardless of what was thrown at them, and he could always help reinforce as well. Turning his teal gaze back to Vaile he pondered the mans future once more, and the only outcome he could find was where the man was turned in, and held accountable for his actions. Though depending on how he handled himself for the rest of their journey, Vulkan would be willing to give him a head start for running away. Not that it would do him much good.
"You are not all bad if you are willing to face what you did...That I can at least respect." was all he stated to the man as he continued to try, and think a way out of this situation. It was not going to be easy, but where there was a will, there was always a way. Or at least that is what Alphonse had always taught him, and if you couldn't find the normal path, you made your own. That was what made you, you after all.
Ito turned his attention to Hans and Genesis, well sort of. He raised his eyes slightly off his book but he looked back down and turned the page. "You assume too much on that, nobles do not fetch their own food or drinks." he said as if she was dumb for not knowing that given that it was clear he was a noble-born daemon. "There are six others actually within this library well nine if you include the three children studying upstairs." he said as he picked up his tea to take a sip. "I was expecting you but I also was perhaps expecting too much for you to act civilized inside a library, so please lower your voice people are studying." he scolded, he had still done nothing to be deemed as a threat at the moment.
He listened to her words and used his tail to point to a log fire to the left of him "Don't be silly about the music we are in a library." it was clear he wouldn't desecrate a library, to him libraries seemed to be somewhat sacred and likely that was the reason that it was in perfect condition and no one within it was in any danger. "I'm glad they are aiding you, pity I couldn't do anything about your attitude but miracles aren't a thing so here we are." he said with a soft chuckle taking another sip of his tea continuing to read the page he was on. "Because that hot head of yours will get you into trouble and you aren't equipped to deal with the consequences." he said as if that was obvious fact. "You are most welcome." he said using his tail to turn the page. He saw she had potential but honestly did believe it would end up being lost due to her temper getting her killed.
"Yes, it is." he said answering her question "And you're going to make him more interested by doing that you know." he said putting his cup down before covering his mouth to yawn. "It was for the lady who serves me" he said with a shrug "You look very uncomfortable in the images but I am not surprised given how they had you dress like some harlot." his voice showed the distaste for seeing people who were seen as nothing more than eye candy for the lust of men. Hans had been the third wheel at least to his own knowledge but that wasn't the case that pendant he currently wore was a gift from his sister, she realised there were things he lacked and that she could help in and by doing so further their own agenda. "Ah yes." he said putting his hand forward and sliding the magazine over to reveal one that Hans himself had been featured in.
"So many models." he chuckled before picking up his tea taking a sip, his eyes coming off his book as a third presence made themselves known. He put down his book and cup standing his hand going to his chest his other slightly away from his body the flat of his hand turned towards the three "My name is Ito and I am that daemon you are looking for. Would the Lady Silva care to join me for some tea and cake?" he asked sitting back down again his hand motioning towards a seat in front of himself "Oh and don't get any ideas about the cage behind me, I will take your arm off before you get halfway towards it and think nothing of it." his tone was calm and clearly aimed at the hot head assassin. "If the children can behave the can come to sit at the grown-ups table and join us for tea and cake, if they can not they can wait outside where it will be raining soon." it was clear the decision was up to the trio how they would care to progress.
~~~~~~
Vaile and Vulkan:
It had seemed as if Vaile had regained control of himself, the tantrum had come to an end. He had thanked the two men for arresting him. Well, there was three all in all but the trio had become a duo as Jett himself had seemingly vanished. He complied with the request to give them wings so they could search for the well with ease, but as they had been warned the higher they went the harder it was for them to see. Even though the white-haired male had given his word, he didn't want to but he knew it was a word that he couldn't break sheerly for the fact he swore on his late sisters name. He summoned up a map, on it, it showed his own marker, the lava mages, two wells, four signatures heading towards one of the wells as he and Vulkan headed to the other. there were other blips but they were at the edge of the map.
Vaile had his own opinions about the daemons, he didn't see them as people and that was fine by the daemons because they didn't mortals as people either, merely animals that had learned to communicate in a way they could understand. They were still pathetic and weak in their minds, the one thing if he had spoken his words they could agree with was that there was enough tragedy to go around. At current, however, the tragedy was being spread by the supposed 'good' guys and not the evil hellspawn they were being painted to be. The white-haired male blamed everyone and everything for the loss of his sister but perhaps that was the issue. She had known the danger that she could be in when she joined, the fault of her death laid on no one but it was obvious he was still grieving the loss of his loved one.
He realised however he was on thin ice and so remained quiet, a slip of control and Ito may follow through on his threat to kill the summoner he held so dear. He could roll the dice and it may not happen, though from everything that had been seen Ito didn't seem like the type to make idle threats. While he was lost in his thoughts the pair had reached the well. The lava mage had already got a spear made of lava in his hand, he indicated that they would need to throw everything that they could at the well ignoring the daemoness's pleading to keep the well unharmed for now. He warned that the other that they should be prepared for a reaction as they had no idea what would happen. "You are making a mistake." she said her voice sounding saddened but it wasn't like she expected any different when talking to mortals, she believed she'd have better spent her time talking to a mountain or a brick wall.
The moment he got close to the well a trap went off, it wasn't a normal trap, however, an aoe light attack went off dealing intermediate damage to both mages and making cracks on nearby buildings. It wouldn't have been enough to stop the damage however and the strike of the lance hit the well triggering another trap, this one of darkness dealing grand damage to the pair and making holes in nearby walls. It was up to the pair if they wanted to try their luck again, it was clear that the wells were not physically guarded they were still protected and by traps of differing strengths and elements. The daemons remained quiet on the matter. The Lava mage told the shadow mage how he respected that he was willing to own up and take responsibility for what he had done. When the dust settled the well was still standing but there were cracks in it showing that it had been weakened.
~~~~~~
Hinota, Satori, Valo:
The fire mage had searched the burned house and had almost lost himself to the darkness of his anger, especially as he found out the woman he saw as a second mother still protected the people of the town as she and her young daughter were being burned alive by them. It was when Hinota hugged him he calmed and even put a hand over her arm to show that he was still in control. He agreed everything could wait for now, that giving the pair final rites was most important. It was a hard thing for the pair but still, they'd do what was needed. He agreed to the doll-like mages idea to use the unused lantern to give them shelter from the light bit, for now, he had to find their bodies.
Even when a thud was heard he ignored it moving to his knees and uncovering the burned remains of the innocent mother and daughter, leaving Hinota to interact with the tall walking wall of a man. She even stood between the two though she wouldn't fight and could do nothing to stop him if he wanted to attack them. Hearing his questions she answered them the best she could though they weren't concise as she would like. She introduced herself and Valo as he had introduced himself and for now, it seemed as if they weren't enemies. By the time the conversation came to an end the body of mother and daughter had been moved to the backyard. She had moved to be with Valo helping him to dig their graves even if she wasn't physically strong she wanted to help the other the best she could.
Soon enough they were inside their graves and buried, Valo went back into the house to fetch the lantern using his own blue flame before Hinota used her flower and miasma to allow the lantern to drop all sorts of flower petals and scent the area in jasmine over the scent of burnt wood. She had picked up a box from a secret compartment she had noticed but said nothing, once they moved out of the area she would give it to him but for now, she hadn't mentioned it. Valo had asked for a few moments and Hinota was fine enough to grant it as was the rough-looking guy who had called himself Bengal. Once done Valo gave more information to Bengal while Joseph and Hinota shared information that she would relay to the others. When finished she told Bengal that two of the captains were in the other group while theirs only had one, neither of which knew had vanished into thin air.
Bengal had healed the pair after they had finished with the grave and when she was told by Valo it was time to go she merely nodded and followed him, allowing him to help her onto his golem. Bengal had used one of his spells to make them faster and seemed to have decided to go with them. Valo had warned the man not to attack straight away, that the daemoness that they were going to see would likely want to talk first. Bengal didn't seem to care one way or another he held no loyalty to kikka, it's people, the knights or to clover even if they were allies. On their way to the purple orca base she brought out the box she had found and saw a photo of a young valo and a younger Nanami, saying he should have it and that there was writing on the back.
Story:
June entered the fray after there was some backwards and forwards between Hans, Genesis and Ito. Ito had insulted the assassin yet again and informed her that there were in fact nine people within the library. He outed her for the gifts she had but knew that the necklace that the mercenary wore was actually sent by his sister. He showed that on the table wasn't just the magazine that she had modelled for but the one Hans had as well. Ito offered June to come sit at the table to have some tea and cake with him, saying that the merc and assassin could join them if they could behave like adults but also warned the assassin if she even dared to move to the birdcage behind him she would lose an arm before she could get even halfway to it and his tone was showing he would have no qualms in doing so.
Jett had gone missing and there was no sign as to what happened to the purple orca captain, still, they had ignored the daemons. Vaile had kept control being able to sense the familiar mana thanks to the help of his map of the summoner he had been hunting. Thanks to the spell that Vaile used to give them wings they got to the well with ease and undisrupted. The problem was the moment Vulkan got to close an intermediate light trap went off and a grand trap went off as he struck the well with his lava lance. When the dust had settled the well had been showing signs of cracks in the structure but it still stood relatively undamaged. It would be up to them if they continued to use head of attacks or try something different.
Bengal had met up with Valo and Hinota, there was a bit of filling in from the golden dawn and green mantis mages, they put Charlotte and Nanami to rest, Valo had picked up burnt but recognisable picture before they gave the dead mother and daughter final rites. The three used their own elements so that the final unused lantern would protect and give the pair everything they needed in their afterlives. While Valo spoke to Bengal, Hinota got a communication from Joseph and filled him in while gaining information she would share with the others. Soon enough she was helped onto the back of Valo's golem, it would seem by their actions Bengal's question was answered that they would be flying and thanks to him they would get to the purple orca base quickly. On the way there Valo told Bengal that the deamoness would likely want to talk and not to attack right away.
Hinota opened the box she found and handed over a picture with himself and Nanami when they were younger saying there was something on the back. Soon enough the three would enter the purple orca base where a woman would be sat in a circle her hands covering her eyes six children that Valo would remember from his first time in kikka covered in darkness moving around her. They were playing the game 'circle you' singing the song happily as if there wasn't a care in the world, feeling the presence Lilitu would stand up ushering the children behind her protectively as a mother would their children. "Welcome back my dearest prince. Are we to settle things now?" she asked her voice as gentle as it had always been.

June frowned at how rude the two people facing off against the daemon were. Given their lack of identification, the noblewoman decided that they couldn't be assumed to be her allies. To her surprise, Ito introduced himself and invited her to sit with him for tea and cake. Though she felt some suspicion, the Magic Knight could tell that this being was far stronger than her. Diplomacy would be the better option in this case.
"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lord Ito. Your comportment is a pleasant surprise compared to the... children as you have called them. It is gracious of you to offer a potential enemy hospitality. I am glad you see the sense in discussing things rather than brute force and rash behavior. I can only hope these ill-bred children have basic table manners. I accept your offer."
She could have resisted the urge to insult the other two unnamed people, but saw no reason to. If they lacked basic manners then there was no reason to afford them basic respect. June was willing to play nice with those beneath her station should they treat her with a modicum of propriety. Failing that, then she would act accordingly. Both by her own traditional standards and Ryuutei standards, neither of these people had proven to be worthy of June's goodwill.
The Silva curtsied before approaching Ito and standing next to a chair, waiting for a servant to appear and pull it out for her. Based on Ito's attitude, it was best not to act like a commoner. Once the chair had been pulled out, June took a seat with a smooth motion. Her eyes swept over the items on the table, settling on the magazine featuring the man standing next to the redhead.
"My goodness," June said in a tone of faux surprise, "we are in the presence of a model." She picked up the magazine and examined it to see if the man's name was listed anywhere in the periodical. It was. Hans Walker. A plain name that didn't hint at any royal or noble connections. When she closed the magazine, she noticed the cover.
"I suppose those of the lower classes must sometimes choose between dignity and bread," the Silva mused aloud, a smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth. "Perhaps you expected me to already know your names given the shred of fame that comes with having your likeness captured in such a manner. It is a true shame that attention didn't come with etiquette."
The digs at Genesis and Hans' backgrounds and manners were unnecessary, but it was far too amusing to simply let the slight from earlier go.
"So, shall you join the table with the adults? Or will you see yourselves out? I should warn you, though. Adult conversations come with adult consequences."
Her tone was taunting but her words offered a chance for the two commoners to leave the situation alive and uninjured. June wondered quietly which path they would take.
"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back."
There was a particular comment that made Hans raise a brow as he listened to the back and forth between these two. There are...more people here? Hans was more concerned about the children, however, being quickly reminded of the children who were hurt earlier...and the ones he had accidentally hurt his first time here. Knowing that there are presumably children here, Hans needed to make sure that they remain cautious. This place could be very well filled with traps.
But right now...something else has caught the merc's attention....
"Wha-" Hans glanced over Gen, and saw as Ito pushed the shadow mage's magazine to the side. The dark mage's stoic expression nearly faltered at the very sight of the magazine that was hidden underneath.
It was of him...in that athletic attire which was nothing but shorts and hand wraps. Hans did not dare to utter another word and just glanced away with a hint of embarrassment. He brushed his fingers through his dark hair before exhaling out of his nose. He thought that he left that little part of his life behind him....far behind! But here it was, haunting him like some phantom. This was just to get under the dark mage's skin as well, at least this is what Hans was thinking, trying his best to bury this...moment back down where it belongs. It was just for the yul like most of his other jobs....nothing more!
But he found himself glancing over at that image. At this point, Hans was more interested in driving his sword into that damned magazine instead of any daemons...
But then the door behind the two mages opened, and a third had entered the fray. Fortunately, this was enough for Hans to regain full focus on the real situation and brought his attention back to the daemon sitting down. Like Genesis, Hans didn't feel the need to introduce himself, believing that it was clear who the enemy was...along with him not fully trusting this newcomer. She could easily be an illusion conjured up by Ito, another trap in an attempt to throw him and the shadow mage off guard. This wasn't his first time in this dark infested town, and with the revelation of Nanami, and her mother, it served as a huge reminder that not everything is as it seems here....
Ito on the other hand was more welcoming towards the woman, inviting her to sit as well as dropping another insult towards Hans and Gen as he offered them to take a seat as well....bringing up something about a flame. "Hm?" Hans looked over at the redhead then looked up at where she was looking and noticed it. That was certainly something to note. As for the insults, they didn't really phase the merc...but what happened next he certainly wasn't expecting...
The Magic Knight had started to insult him and the redhead as well. Her first comment was enough to make Hans glance over at her as she made her way to one of the chairs...and curtsied at the daemon. Hans blinked a few times, honestly, a bit caught off guard from this. But then he shook his before taking his eyes off of the woman. She was a noble after all, a Silva to be precise so it wasn't all that surprising. Even in a moment like this, they still can find a way to try and wave their status around like a flag. This wasn't the first time Hans had to deal with cocky nobles. He has come across his fair share of kinder ones, but they were still few in comparison to nobles like her. She then took a jab at those modeling images again, making Hans flinch a bit. Looks like he wasn't going to be able to run away from that part of his life anytime soon...
As the Silva continued to run her mouth, Hans just kept his eyes on Ito. He was still the primary focus after all which he needed to keep his focus on. The dark mage wasn't the type to let his anger or words get the best of him. It's that type of clear mind that he needed to do most of his jobs after all.
Genesis on the other hand....
Hans looked over at that flame Ito mentioned before glancing back at the shadow mage. He couldn't read her expression, but the merc knew enough about Gen to know that she wasn't going to easily let what both the daemon and Magic Knight said go....
Before she could...act on her impulses, Hans placed a hand on the redhead's shoulder and leaned over to whisper at her. "One wrong move and people will get hurt." he said to the redhead, referring to the others who were apparently here. Hans was smart enough to know that they couldn't just face Ito. They needed to remain calm...despite the unnecessary distractions. If they just go along with this, then possibly a better opportunity will present itself.
With that, Hans gestured at Gen to come with him to the table....hoping that she'll play nice. He didn't like this...not at all...but what other choice did they have?
The merc slid his greatsword back into its sheath and sat down next to June. He glanced at the cocky noble then to Ito..... and then down to that magazine again...before slowly turning it over to cover that blasted image....

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Somehow Valo had managed to focus and find his resolve, he couldn't answer how or why but he did. Coming to the realization that both Charlotte and Nanami were both now gone, it hurt the young fire mage. It was painful the most painful experience he ever had to go through. He'd been beaten, jumped, bruised, battered, broke a few bones even heart broken at times. But nothing felt like this, nothing had hurt him this much.
But he couldn't let that stop him, of course he needed his time to cope. But right after it was back to what was important saving what was left of Kikka and putting a stop to these daemons. For him to stop and mourn and do nothing else would be a disrespect to everyone that had already passed trying to save this town. It would be disrespectful to Charlotte and Nanami, and Valo would die before he would do that. So for him he had no choice but to keep moving forward, and so he did.
Riding on top of his golem to the Purple Orca's Headquarters, Hinota suddenly stated that he should keep the picture that she was holding. Valo had a puzzled look on his face at first, but gently took the picture and his eyes widened. It was a picture of him and Nanami playing together, Valo was barely a teen and Nanami was still just a baby. "This has to be at least 3 or 4 years old." he said quietly. Another picture that he would treasure for the rest of his life. Hinota told him something else, that there was something on the back a message perhaps. Valo read it carefully.
'My dearest Valorisse and precious Nanami may your lives be as calm as the flowing river and filled with the light of the passionate flames.
Valo held on to the picture a bit longer, taking a moment. The young Green Mantis knight took a deep breath in and let it out. Now was not the time for more tears, but he would be lying if the Charlotte's message behind this picture didn't mean the world to him. She always had a way with words and saying exactly what Valo needed to hear sometimes. Her words tended to be the only ones that got through his thick stubborn skull, and only a very few people could do that.
"Thank You Hinota. Thank you." was all he said before gently sliding the picture into his satchel, right next to the other one he found. Now was the time to focus on the task.
Valo looked at the hands for a brief moment, almost studying the static electricity that was now over his body. The one called Bengal had activated about two spells over the duo, two powerful lightning spells at that. There was a healing sensation over his body, though he didn't have many injuries he did feel refreshed. Not only that he could feel his overall speed increasing vastly, speeds much higher than what any of Valo's spells could reach at the moment. He didn't know this man at all, he seemed like an ally and not a threat. He stated earlier he was a friend of Captain Kasai, a powerful friend to have.
"Bengal...thanks for the spells." Valo said to him. "If you are indeed an ally... I'm glad you're here with us." the fire mage added. Though this was somewhat uncharacteristic for the young brash fire mage. He usually didn't like to accept the help of others, no matter how powerful they were. He often liked to start fights with them, his mind flashed to Lydia Ravencrest for a second. But if this whole ordeal was going to teach him something, was that he needed to start maturing and that meant working with others. "But don't go thinking I can't hold my own." he added, the fire mage still being prideful but he meant well.
Eventually they landed right in front of the Purple Orca base, the time to face Lilitu was now. Valo hopped off his golem and would help Hinota down if she needed it. Valo would take a moment to nod at Hinota and Bengal, before saying. "I'm not sure what to expect once we enter. I just know...Lilitu...she's different. She may not be hostile at first, but it should go without saying stay on your toes and prepare for anything. We still need to take her down." Valo said slowly, his purpose was clear and drive unwavering.
He gripped his silver staff weapon tightly in his right hand, he used a mana tether and had his golem open the doors to the base with it's head carefully. With the doors fully open Valo walked in senses alert as they could be, each step careful his golems right by his side just in case. He saw her Lilitu the daemon, but she was not alone. She was sitting with a circle of children running around her, playing the 'Circle You' game. Upon closer inspection from the fire mage, he recognized those children.
"Marcy, Yuna, Torin, Peter, Aria and Calum." Valo calmly said the names of each of the six children, each one covered in some kind of darkness. Valo remembered that image like it was yesterday, the illusions of beasts attacking the group the fist time they were in Kikka when all this madness struck. All six of these kids were badly hurt and had to be brought to a hospital, where they made a deal for their lives. Valo sighed just remembering it all. Artemis went to such lengths trying to save them, was it all for naught in the end. Valo knew these children and some of their parents, although it hurt to see them like this. He couldn't waver, he had to remain focused.
"Welcome back my dearest prince. Are we to settle things now?"
Valo looked at Lilitu as the six children ran behind her, she was protecting them. More wraiths perhaps, Valo thought. Valo looked directly into Lilitu's eyes for a few moments, his eyes weren't full of anger just sadness. He took three steps closer leaving a fair amount of distance between them, his body at ease and calm though. Aria the girl with amber colored hair gripped Lilitu's dress tightly. "Mommy. Are they here to take us away?" she asked the daemon.
"So their lives have also been lost Lilitu?" Valo asked her suddenly. "How many more? How many more lives have to be taken?" he followed up with another question, no anger or desperation in his voice. Just weariness and empathy.
BATTLE: Speed = 15 m/s. Valo took the picture with the note and thanked Hinota dearly. Upon arrival at the base he thanked Bengal for the spells and grew up a little. Yay for maturity. Entering the dungeon he recalled every name of the six children, asking Lilitu if they had also died knowing the answer he asked another wanting all this death to finally end.

Masshiro is able to use it's arms, claws, feet, tail, horns, jaws and it's entire body to attack whatever Valo directs it too. When attacking it's jaws, claws, horns and tail are covered in flames causing at rank fire damage to whatever they hit. They fully respond to commands given by it's user through a mana connection and also verbally.
The doll-like mage couldn't help but admire the fire mages resolve especially at the moment. He had his entire hometown flipped on its head, people that he loved stolen away from him and yet he was still able to calm his mind enough to do the task he was sent to accomplish. She couldn't and wouldn't want to hesitate and guess what he may be thinking about the ones that had taken so much away from him. The horrible issue was that it wasn't the enemy that had done such a vile act but the citizens they were here to save. She still didn't understand why they would do such a thing when right now they should be supporting each other instead of snuffing out lights of those who didn't deserve it. [break][break] She knew those within the Green Mantis generally had a checkered past or were street kids who had turned over a new leaf. From what she had seen both in action and by interaction he was likely the latter of the two. She brought her sleeve to her mouth a little as she chuckled lightly at the thought of a younger Valo Stark fighting over something that he would likely see as petty now. "My apologies. I didn't mean to come off as insensitive I just have a funny thought go through my mind of you having a fight when you were around Nanami's age over something you'd find petty now." she admitted, "But then, you likely had bickering's with little sister too hu?" she said knowing just by how Nanami kicked his shin and threw a boot of water at Valentine she would have been stubborn one herself, the pair also acted as close as a brother and sister so he viewed them as such. Blood after all didn't decide a person's family. [break][break] "They'd be proud of you, you know." she said looking at him as he took the picture to look at it, she looked to the picture as he read what was written silently. There was no need for him to say anything out loud, those words were meant for him and him alone. It wouldn't be right for anyone to overstep those bounds. It seemed whatever it was had, had a meaningful impact on the other making the doll-like mage tilt her head just a little with a gentle smile. She was glad that the message though painful due to the loss would still be helping him into the future. She watched his body language carefully. It was clear he was trying to keep composure and it had to be commended as she would be unsure she herself would be capable of such a feat even if she were to try to compartmentalize as she did. [break][break] "Seems you have a part of them both in those images." she said with a faint tone, she didn't want to presume who's words were on the photo she gave him. What happened next surprised her, he thanked her but she had done nothing worth such a thing as far as she was aware. "Valo, I've done nothing worth the thanks. I gave you a photo that I believe they would want you to have. I just noticed that something wasn't right with a wall and investigated." she looked down to her knees holding the skirt of her clothing "I honestly felt awful for doing it, it almost felt like I was looting." she said honestly the small wooden box still in front of her. There were other things in the box but the picture had been the only thing that had stood out when she opened it. Everything else could be gone through later she supposed. [break][break] She looked over herself and Valo seeing the electricity sparking her eyes going back to the one that introduced himself as Bengal. "Thank you for using your mana to help us Bengal." she said with a gentle tone, she knew that Valo was strong and though she herself was stronger than when she was in Raque but she was still nowhere near as strong as she'd need to be if this was going to be an ongoing thing. She knew they would need the support of what she believed could be their new ally but from how he looked it could go either way on her opinion. She didn't want to think badly of him but there were too many unknown factors in this town and with him turning up so suddenly it made her unwilling to give her full trust to. [break][break] She nodded with Valo's words "We are truly thankful if you are here to support us." she said though looked thoughtfully "But then if this threat isn't dealt with, its reach will continue growing." she remembered some of what the records had said "It wasn't as far out two months ago was it, Valo? at least that's what the records I read said." she inquired as she took the others hand carefully, normally she wouldn't do such a thing given her upbringing but she wouldn't be able to get off the golem by herself. She smiled as she heard him thank the other but assured him he would be able to hold his own in the fight. It was true she was a pacifist and wouldn't really be much help going forward but she hoped that it would be enough to give them an edge. [break][break] She listened to his words before they entered, she wanted to know by the daemoness being different, it was strange that he believed that she wouldn't be hostile at first. She couldn't help but wonder if there was a bond between them or something. The floral miasma mage nodded "My healing isn't as strong as Bengal's, my shields aren't as strong as captain Jett's and my restraints... I don't think they'd do much." she said with a sigh "I'll do my best though Valo, I'll help with strategy and look for weak points." It was the only thing she believed that she could do for the pair, but then she knew she still had a long path to travel to get to where she needed to go. It wasn't a bad thing the journey of life would be boring if everything came easy. [break][break] Hinota followed the fire mage into the purple orca headquarters, her eyes instantly looking around as she tried to see the best places to attack from and where they could be ambushed. What caught her attention was the singing her eyes instantly going to a woman playing a game of 'kagome kagome' with six children. It made no sense at first, well, that was until she stood a brought the children behind her as if they were in danger. What really made it sink in that this was the daemon was the brief conversation between the woman and Valo. "She's nothing like the arch-daemoness Serena." she said looking for Valo, but that didn't mean that her defences had gone down "You know these children Valo?" she asked but her tone showed she was surprised as one of the children spoke to the daemoness. [break][break] She watched the daemoness smile and cup the little girl's cheek before shaking her head "No, we won't be separated. I promise you that. I do need you to go inside and see auntie for now. She'll need help looking after the sleeping knights." her voice was gentle and caring towards them. The children nodded and into the building, she stood and looked to the trio "There lives were lost my dearest prince but not by our hands." she said her voice mournful "An angel of death cut their lives short." she said her hands balling "I made short work of the angel of death." her voice showed anger something that the fire mage would have never seen from the woman before. "As from our previous encounter you should know Ito and I do not attack those we see as unworthy or beneath us. I personally would never attack a child regardless of strength." she said walking forward "I am sorry for the loss of those you cherished my dearest prince." [break][break] From what the doll-like mage could tell this daemon was being honest and sincere, the body language and tone matched and there was no flare of magic to show of an attack coming. What came as a shock was what the woman said "No more. No more lives should be taken. Ito and I are tired of the fighting, we just want to end it." she said calmly. The doll-like mage went over everything that she could remember from the reports and everything that had happened up to this point "Valo, I don't think she's lying." she said her voice showing she was still trying to get around the concept herself "There are only three daemons, what we deemed to be mana beasts are actually wraiths under her control and even then we only came across one." she said trying to get him to understand her logic. [break][break] "The illusions would, of course, be an issue but we had a solid way of seeing through it by being in the houses and the trap that was triggered done no damage it just lowered speed." she said showing that they had been very passive on how they had done things. She had even allowed Nanami and Charlotte to be in their house to help them, it really was an odd situation they had found themselves in. Far different than what she had experienced so far. "So, will you be entering my graveyard or will it be Ito and I entering the graveyard so we can be with the children?" she asked moving to be stood a little way a ways from the fire mage "I will not use the pair out of respect when we fight." she said allowing Valo to know that even though she did have an ace card to stop him in his tracks she wouldn't pick such low hanging fruit.

"Holding one's own is different from not needing any help. Even great warriors and heroes of lore need help occasionally, Valo." Satori's reply to the young Stark was calm and relaxed. He had no intention of riling them up, and it was clear that the teen was volatile right now anyway. No need to cause him to have another breakdown.
Sator's head nodded once to Hinota as she explained her own weaknesses. He could already tell. Her ki held none of the determination of a warrior, his magic senses were abysmal but he still detected the bare minimal and she didn't have much. The woman really shouldn't be here. He'd have to be sure to protect her properly for Zaven if he could at least.
Valo commenting that she may not be hostile initially caused him to arch a brow slowly. So they still needed to be rid of her, but they wanted to gather information first? That was fine.
Satori rubbed his neck with one hand while his mana spread between the pair carefully, before reaching up to his back and drawing a long bone from it. Flicking it once and causing it to extend and click into place as the runes danced with orange light. A leather bag covered its head as he let it rest atop his shoulder, relaxed in his body language even as his ki extended out across the headquarters.
Nose twitching once as he noted the scent on the air, and the ki that responded to him. Wraith magic much akin to his own, the wraiths were maintaining their sapience. Highly unusual. Such a thing required the spirit's consent unless incredibly powerful magic was used to enslave the soul.
Her words toward Valo were elegant, refined, proper and spoken in an older dialect of Clovian. His eyes narrowed slightly at the words themselves, however. The rule sounded like one a killer would make instead of accepting what they were doing and making peace with it. He'd met many warriors that had such 'rules' to ease their conscious.
I would never kill children. I would never hurt the innocent. I would never strike a woman.
I would never, I would never, I would never. Yet the piles of bodies that surrounded their past spoke the story for them. What did it matter that you had such self-imposed rules? One life was worth no more than any other life. A child could grow up to be a psychopathic murderer. A middle-aged man could change his ways from a criminal and save a town.
There was no logic to such rules, no logic to such emotional baggage. One life was one life. To take a life was to kill. Beyond that mattered little.
Despite his misgivings, the Daemoness' words were honest. Her ki was relaxed and tired. She wanted this to end. Satori tilted his head to the side as Hinota commented that she thought the daemoness was being honest. He didn't trust body language, but what he did trust was his ki.
"Her ki is still. She's not lying," Satori rumbled from behind the pair as he glanced around the headquarters before his feline eyes settled on the daemoness calmly as she commented on entering a graveyard. Hm. So it was a battle in the end anyway. A slow breath passed his lips as he tilted his head to the side, maintaining his reinforcement spells on them both.
"Since you were intent to try alone, Valo, I won't interfere," Satori stated casually. This wasn't his fight, not really. If she wanted to be diplomatic, that was fine. If they wanted to work diplomacy into the situation and try to end this 'amicably' that was also fine. But...
"If either of you are in danger of death, I'll kill her," Satori warned simply. He'd made his choice. The Daemon were the enemy in this situation, even if the townsfolk had caused such devastation as well the devastation to kikka as a whole wasn't acceptable. Nor was this his land. It wasn't something he needed to care so intensely about. He was here for his friend, nothing more.
His gaze shifting toward the Daemoness calmly as the mana around him began to swirl slowly. Maintaining the enhancement spells on the other two was a simple endeavor that cost him none of his mana. He'd maintain a neutral stance if Valo wished to end this himself with his magic enhancements.
But if he wasn't "strong enough" for the daemoness, Satori would step in. He still needed to know where June was after all as well.

Genesis Fantôme
La Poste
If only Gen had some lessons on diplomacy, she would probably have better control of her temper.
Unfortunately, she doesn’t.
The red-haired woman stared coolly at the daemon as he proceeded to instruct—or more like insult—her. Like this was new. Ah, so he was a noble, was he? Though the sole fact that he was a daemon was enough, his rank was another thing to add to the growing list. Little did she know she would eventually eat her own bitter medicine in the near future. Even the gifts he sent, though useful by themselves, also threw her off. Honestly, why couldn’t the world just let her be?
“Civilized?” She scoffed. “Since when have I been civilized like a proper lady?” She did not deny her low birth, nor did she see that as a thing to be ashamed of. “For once, I agree. Your standards of me are too high and misplaced. Best that I knock the bar down to a realistic level.” What lingering curiosity had faded to the background, replaced only by the ever-growing desire to end this for good.
At his mention of the others in the library, she was not surprised. “Using innocent children as a safety net so the enemy won’t attack?” She let out an insufferable sigh. “What an original idea.” True, she may have potential, but her tongue and temper was going to get her killed one day—or perhaps today.
As for his comment about the magazine with her image on it, she was not surprised at it. What did surprise her was when she glimpsed another magazine, this time featuring the mercenary with a pretty blue-haired elf. Since when was Hans the type to take up modelling?
"You too, huh?"
Perhaps he was also an unlucky victim who got pulled into it. “You know how it is.” But like him, she was not really interested in paying more attention to those magazines, nor was she going to ask him the ‘why’s or ‘how’s behind it. There were more important things at stake than cover pictures.
But now another had entered the room, and she was not surprised when the daemon identified her as a Silva. Aligning herself with the daemon, huh? The redhead had no experience in diplomacy, and that was something she was not going to learn for a long, long while. If at all. She also did not see the point in names, not when they could die in a matter of moments. Must be a noble thing, to care about names and all that. Nobles and their snobbish finery. Like that running gag would ever change even in an alternate universe.
In short, she did not respect anyone who could talk all pretty and fancy but could not back it up with actions. Of course, the redhead also did not know just how strong the Silva was, but she was unabashedly critical towards nobles and stubbornly stuck to the bias until they proved themselves worthy. Even if the woman was actually trying to help them, Gen would be too narrow-minded to pick it up.
Then came the choice from both the daemon and the noblewoman. The latter was throwing jabs at both her and the mercenary. Names, etiquette, manners...like the shadow mage cared about any of that. Besides, she and the dark mage had been here since the first time. Who was this newcomer to just barge in like this like she owned the place and knew how to defeat the daemon?
The best way to rile nobles up was to ignore them, so she chose only to answer the true master in the room. “The real lady may sit if her delicate legs are tired.” She said blandly. “Why should a lowborn dirty your precious seats?” Again, people put too much emphasis on names and backgrounds. Not that she minded, as it would get them to underestimate and brush her off as a mere itch. So far, so good.
"One wrong move and people will get hurt."
Right. Those children upstairs. Were they even real? Would she even take the daemon’s words at face value? She narrowed her eyes, but the mercenary’s low warning did remind her to keep her peace...at least for the moment. He had taken a seat next to the Silva, but would she join them?
“I’m fine here.” Gen shifted her balance, but did not stir from her spot, opting to neither join them at the table nor leave the room. She was not going to leave, not when the goal was so close to completion. She was not the type to leave any loose ends, be it a small job or a dangerous mission like this.
Steel-gray eyes flickered around the room, before resting back on the cage behind the daemon. Yes, she had heard the warning and did not doubt the daemon could easily take her arm off in a split second if he wanted to. But there must be a way. Her mind whirled, trying to calculate how far she could get before her arm got chopped off, and whether she would be able to withstand the pain to grab the cage anyways. Years of beating her body up and tasting poison had rendered her mostly immune to physical pain—or at least, she would not show it even if it hurt. Would it be worth it to lose an arm and gain an advantage? Perhaps...
There must also be a reason why Ito was toying with them, toying for time. What was he waiting for? Was he waiting for the archdaemon to finish setting the last pieces in place or something? The femme hated being forced into a situation, and hell would freeze over before she dies quietly and without a struggle.

These finely crafted black leather boots seem to give off an unsettling energy to any that get to close, they come midway up the shin and have seven silver buttons and seem to have an elastic-like band or string that comes behind the boot and loops over the silver buttons to keep the shoes in place.
Lore: After a compliment to an enemy about their boots and where to get a set just like them for themselves, these boots have found their way to their current owner from said enemy with a note that reads "I hope you like the gift. ~Ito" Whether it is meant to be a taunt or mocking no-one but the sender knows, still they are a really nice set of leather boots.
Name of the Ability: Enigmatic Enhancement Type & Uses: N/A Rank & Specialization: Intermediate ¦ Physical Reinforcement Mana Cost: N/A Range & Speed: N/A ¦ 20 m/s Stats Affected: Endurance Description: The wearer of these boots may feel a little strange while they wear them, it would almost feel as if nothing in the world could harm them or if they could then it would be a lot harder to do. This is because of the endurance buff they give ignore the damage of a single spell or attack per post equal to the rank, or below the current rank of the boots. If the opposing attacker has +20 power to the wearers durability stat they will deal half that spell’s rank in damage. If they have +30 power, the wearer will not be able to ignore any of the damage. This is able to ignore ALL ammo of the single ability/spell that is ignored.

[attr="class","textie"]The words of the female Daemon were lost on him, mistake or not he was going to end this. That was all there was to it, what caught him off guard was the trap that he had stumbled upon with the shadow mage. A burst of radiant light came out of nowhere, and smashed into his mana skin rather painfully, and he knew he was going to be bruised as a result. But already his mana skin was knitting itself back together from the damage that it had received, it was pointless after all to try, and harm him permanently, with such weak magic. The second his lance made contact with the well however, he was a bit more wary, more on edge, and thus was able to react much quicker.
"Lava Creation Magic: Barrier of Abraxas!" he intoned his magic as a barrier of lava sprung up around himself, and Vaile. He was keeping it small enough for just the two of them at the moment, but he could increase the size if needed. As the magic from the trap exploded outwards towards them it collided harshly with the barrier. Forcing cracks, and chunks of it to fall away, but the two of them were unscathed by the large scale magic. "Tch...Troublesome...Throw everything you have at it Shadow Mage...While my barrier repairs itself we will attack." As the words left his lips his barrier had already started to regenerate, and keeping his lance in hand, he summoned his strongest attack magic for the moment. He didn't wish to cause more harm to the surrounding town, so he would use his halberd instead.
"Lava Creation Magic: Halberd of Abraxas...", and with that a large Halberd with the blade itself looking like a dragons head, and serrated teeth, and the haft being the tail. This time he would hit this well much harder than before. So he hurled both his lance, and halberd at the well aiming to destroy it once, and for all, and if the shadow mage used his own magic there was no doubt in his mind that they couldn't take care of this quickly, and in the end ruin whatever plans the Daemons might have for the two of them.
He had noticed the disappearance of Jett, though in his mind it was just another illusion that the Daemons were trying to play on them, something to mess with him, and make him lose his focus. For all he knew the Purple Orca captain just got whisked away to another location in the city, for another sick game of 'Is this real?', and Vulkan couldn't spare to think to hard on it. There was a mission that had to be completed, and right now he was the only one here with the power to complete it. It was troublesome, but if he wanted the strength he sought after so desperately, then this was just another trial on the way towards that goal. Everything he faced was just another stepping stone.
Battle Breakdown: Vulkan took the light AoE attack head on, simply because he wasn't prepared for such a fast attack ,and suffered Intermediate Damage. Though thanks to his Regenerating Skin perk it's already back to full health like nothing happened. When the trap on the well came, he summoned his Barrier to protect himself, and Vaile from the damage. With his Durability being 142, and Ito's power being 150 the defense took the full brunt of damage leaving it at half health. Though Self Repairing is kicking in, and restored it back to 100% health, so yay for autoheal! Vulkan hurled his Lance, and Halberd at the well for a combined damage total of Grand + Senior in order to hopefully destroy it once, and for all, and told Vaile to attack as well. That's about it.
Name of Spell: Lava Creation Magic: Halberd of Abraxas Elemental Type: Lava Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Attack Creation Range & Speed: 150 meters | 75 m/s Mana Cost: 50 | 25 Stats Effected: +9 Power (self) Applicable Perks: Apex Predator Description: The strongest spell in his "Spear" series of spells, and named for his companion Abraxas. This spell creates a solid Halberd made out of his lava magic intricate in design, as the blade seems to resemble a dragons head, and teeth with the haft, and handle being it's tail. This Halberd can be used as a melee weapon, but it can also float around Vulkan, and be controlled via his hand motions. Like his other "Spears" he can launch this spell as a projectile, and recall it as needed, however with his hand motions, and mana he can have it fight for him while he remains at a distance.
Name of Spell: Lava Creation Magic: Barrier of Abraxas Elemental Type: Lava Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Defense Creation | Attack Creation Range & Speed: 150 meters | 75 m/s | 80 meter AoE Mana Cost: 50 | 25 Stats Effected: +12 Durability (self) Applicable Perks: Self Repairing, Apex Predator Description: One of the strongest defensive spells in his arsenal at the moment, Vulkan has the ability to control the size of this spell, though at it's largest size it is 80 meters in diameter. Extending his hand into the air he creates a barrier of lava that is spherical in shape, he must decide on it's size at the time of casting, and it can be no smaller than 20 meters in diameter, and no larger than 80 meters in diameter. When summoned a barrier of lava encompasses an area within range. If it is summoned around Vulkan he will always be at the center of it. The walls of the barrier produce an intense heat that burns others severely at the point of contact, causing Grand Rank damage, and cause potential 4th degree burns if they touch it. This spell has an Archmage worth of Health.
Name of Spell: Lava Creation Magic: Volcanic Knights Lance Elemental Type: Lava Rank & Spell Type: Senior | Attack Creation Range & Speed: 80 meters | 40 m/s Mana Cost: 30 | 15 Stats Effected: +6 Power Applicable Perks: Apex Predator Description: The version of this spell that he uses most often for the sheer power that it can produce, and it's utility in combat. A lance of Lava forms in the air near Vulkan that he can either grab to use as a melee weapon, or that he can fire off towards his opponent as a ranged attack. If he uses it as a projectile, and it misses he can retrieve it by having the Lance fly back to his hand as long as he is within the spells range. This spell deals Senior Rank damage, and inflicts severe burns on those that come into contact with it. For every 30 control that he has he can create an additional lance to use.
